So sad the series is over! This was by far my favorite series that I’ve read! Such well developed characters she could’ve have continued with something happening with Tina or Waylay. 😭 so sad it’s over! I will definitely be rereading this series!
- ughhhh 5 years later?! That is sooooo cute. Time really flies, sad emoji. Ugh how is Waylay 17?! My goodness, time flies. O my goshhhh not Wraith and Liza J dating!!!! I mean I knew it was coming but awwww. Waaaaaa Wayla has a boyfriend?!!!! Who is Theo?! Hmmmmm!!! Awww Steph and Jeremiah are married! Ahhhh! - One upside of infertility issues was that I didn’t have to watch my wife suffer through pregnancy hormones. - Ugh makes me sad that Knox and Naomi can’t have their own kids, but I’m glad they’re adopting! Ugh so cute - Overall, I LOVE LOVE LOVED THIS 5 YEAR LATER UPDATE ON KNOX AND NAOMI AND… JEREMIAH AND STEPH! Ugh
Things we hide from the light
- Another cute bonus story with Nash and Lina! Kinda weird how we already knew they were having twins in Knox and Naomi’s story, but o well. It was still cute to read about how they were feeling having their first kids!! Super super cute how they moved on Liza Js property and how they are living across from Knox and Naomi! Ugh, the next generation is here and they all live near each other. I LOVE IT!! Lolllll I was confused why Nash and Knox’s dad was called John in the book but it then said Duke and I was like ooooooo. Glad that Duke is doing well and has stayed sober and been present! I know we read in the other book how Knox and Naomi have fertility issues, ugh just so sad again reading it in this book! But I’m happy they are happy!! - “Twins usually are,” Sloane said, arriving at my side, her hand cool on my shoulder. Lucian followed her. Even after all this time, even while my insides were threatening to exit my body, I still found the way he always put himself in her orbit breathtaking. Painfully adorable. - Ughhh I just LOVEEEEE them. That’s all.
Things we left behind
- o yessssssssssssssss, it’s time - Lollll it starts out a decade or so later?! Hahahhahahahaha. Yet again, another sweet bonus chapter from the series. I liked how it was from Lucian’s view, very rare that we get this. I love how they still hang out with Nolan and how his family is joining them tomorrow! Ugh. So cute. So funny how Holly and her family moved into Lucian’s old place! Literally love this wholesome small town story! Ugh ugh ugh!!!! - You know me, highlighting the whole book when it comes to Lucian and Sloane - and a very expensive saltwater aquarium with one bad-tempered fish that had proceeded to eat every other fish until a pretty little clown fish kicked his ass. Sloane named him Lucian. - Hahahaha I thought it was funny the fish was called Lucian - “Lookin’ good, Grandpa,” she teased. - O my goodness, Lucian and Sloane are grandparents?! MY HEART. UGH. - In a twist of fate, Caden and Waylay had officially joined our families by overcoming years of friendship and falling in love in college. - I was confused when I read that Waylay was like how is my daughter doing in Lucian’s hand because Lucian said his granddaughter in his hands, I was like waaaaaa. I thought maybe they just considered everyone family LOLLL. But nooooo, WAYLAY AND LUCIAN AND SLOANE’S KID, CADEN, GOT TOGETHER!!! O MY GOSHHHHH. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! SUCH A HEARTWARMING STORY!! - I still thought they were terrifyingly young to have jumped into that kind of commitment, but Sloane made me promise to keep my concerns to myself. - Hahhaa thought this was funny, as Sloane should. Keep it all to yourself Luciannnnnn. - and the Purple Heart recipient veteran José looked at my mother as if she’d given birth to the sun, the moon, and everything in between, - I thought it was funny how they described José, but I was like wow as he should. As any person if they really wanted to they would should. Just wowowoowowowow. - The great-grandmothers - Ugh so cute that Sloane and Lucian and Knox and Naomi parents are GREAT GRANDPARENTS?! O MY GOODNESS! I WOULD LOVE MORE STORIES WITH THE NEXT GENERATION! UGH. - The unbearably chipper Holly had moved in next door to us in my old house with her new husband to work with Sloane’s foundation. - Haha I already commented on this in my review but just wow so cute. Holly’s a funny girl! - She paused her victory dance as the sound of breaking glass, a chorus of “uh-ohs,” and raucous barking sounded from inside. “Now, get your shit together before we go back in there.” - lol the “uh-ohs” was very funny to me and very realistic for family functions hahahha. What Sloane said at the end was pretty funny too.

I enjoyed this series and how all of the characters’ stories were threaded throughout all 3 books. Not as deep or witty as some we’ve read. Maybe I skipped over a little of the spicy scenes, but it kept me entertained and wanting to know how they all ended up with their HEA. There was never a question that would happen - but there was a little intrigue mixed in with the romance. Recommend
I loved the first book, thought it was a little too happy ever after for me, really did not care for the 2nd book, but I kept reading the series, and the last book I fell in love with. It has a variety of different female and male personalities that fall in love with each other. I like that the relationships were not messy (no cheating) because that is too traumatizing for me. I think these are great books for people looking for slightly cheesy rom com with spice but also a twist of crime.
Book 1 was a mean rich guy with a sweet angel of a woman. Book 2 is of a very sweet guy with a badass woman Book 3 is dark, mysterious, rich man with a kindhearted woman
I think there is something for everyone in these books.

!!!! Achtung !!! Könnte Spoiler erhalten!!!
Mir hat das „Ebookbundle“ von Lucy Score echt gut gefallen. In diesem Bundle sind folgende Bücher enthalten: Things We Never Got Over; Things We Hide From The Light und Things We Left Behind.
2. Things We Hide From the Light (Nash & Lina): Hier wird’s ruhiger, intensiver .
The first book had a decent plot with well-places foreshadowing. The characters seemed carefully planned, albeit stereotypical. All the characters in the series were clichés.
Starting the second book, it quickly became obvious the plot was exactly the same as the first. The trilogy, unsurprisingly, had the same plot. It was as if the author could not come up with any new ideas, yet someone asked for it to become a series after the first book, so adding some new names and changing job titles was the only viable option to get the books out on time.
Very repetitive.
The books, themselves, can be stand-alone. With the way the author wrote, I would argue, they should be stand-alone. Giving epilogues in the first two books that already give away spoilers to the entire next book is the very poor planning; it makes reading the rest of the series seem pointless.
If you read one book in the series, you read the entire series. It really wasn't worth the money getting all three books just to be faced with the exact same storyline each time and epligoues that gave spoilers for the whole series.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading all of these books. Besides all three being pretty predictable there were still some moments of shock and slow burn that I enjoyed. However, these books had no reason being 500+ pages long like that is crazy. I’m also not a huge smut fan but I liked how all the smut moments were whole chapters so I wouldn’t really miss much by just skipping the chapter.
The books in order from fav to least fav:
1:Things We Left Behind(3); Lucian…that’s it (I also loved how there was moments from their past)
2:Things We Never Got Over(1); I love Naomi and Knox together so much but Knox is also an idiot so that’s why it’s number two
3:Things We Hide From the Light(2); It isn’t that i didn’t enjoy this book I just really liked the other two more. Nash is not my favorite so I really think that’s why this is number three
You either love or hate these books so good luck if you dive into them!
OMG TERRIBLE. Knox needs a trusted adult, tea and therapy, and a hot bath. Naomi needs to tone down on her caffeine addiction. The fact that Waylay (an eleven year old) is the most mature person in the first book is honestly crazy and not surprising to me. Why does when we have a bubbly cute girl, she's so dependent on a man? Like no? Knox is the definition of someone who views themselves as an "alpha male". No your not, your just a toxic person. Worst case of main character syndrome I have ever seen. He is a terrible mmc with no original thoughts or feelings. And the writing? Do not even get me started. Terrible. Everything about this book was absolutely terrible. I could barely finish it. Literally the same thing TWICE. Waste of time.
It could be argued that any of the three books in this trilogy could be read alone and in any order, however, it makes the most sense for fluidity reasons to read them in the order written. They are each a love story that stands on its own but weaves all of the characters together. Each of the couples is an unexpected pairing. The books each has romance, humor and somewhat graphic sex scenes so be forewarned. The second and third book were very similar to the first with different characters, and some parts seemed to be drug pit more than necessary and repetitive, but as far as fun romance novels go, I enjoyed reading these.

I'd seen this series on a lot of the bookstagrammers that I follow on intsa, so thought I'd give them a go....and boy am I glad I did! They were all easy reads with enough danger, sexiness and intrigue to keep you begging for more...
Thought Lucy was very clever in the way she weaved the next story at the end of each book, something I learnt if I ever write a trilogy.
All round fantastic books. I won't say which were my favourites as I don't want to spoil it for others, and I can't really fault them in anyway.
But really really looking forward to reading all her trilogies :-)
Absolute rubbish… lousy character development, (plus too many characters), ridiculous plot line and story development and silly dialogue. Main male character has the personality of a 17 year old, prone to fist fights and assaults; then ironically lectures “violence is not the answer” when main female character is assaulted by partner. I can only assume other 17 year olds and reading & reviewing this book so highly. The only reason it was a DNF for me: 1) I paid money for it on Audible 2) I put the app on timer and fell asleep to the story!
This book series definitely didn’t win over every reader, BUT I liked them! It’s perfect if you’re in the mood for something light and fast-paced. Each book in the series centers around a different character within a small town and dives into their love life while also unraveling a crime. There’s a bit of spice but also a good dose of action and whodunit. It’s not deep or literary, but the characters are genuinely enjoyable, flawed, and full of personality. It delivers on the slow burn romantic tension you look for in a good romance.
LOVE these books!!! Great characters, fun stories...it's one of those series that you never want to end. Romance and humor abound, plus some definitely steamy sex scenes! (While I really enjoyed these books, I do need to say that by the third book the sex scenes got almost a little TOO graphic. I mention this because when reading the summary/descriptions, the reader doesn't quite get the idea of how R-rated portions of the stories are!)
The friends are loving and protective. There is a lot of aggression that is presented as caring, and we’re supposed to give a pass for all the force in the love depicted. Definitely has some spice folded into the primary romance. There is tremendous buildup to Book 3, which turns out to repeat the ‘love hate’ cycle between the main characters so many times that it loses its luster. And just when you’re ready for the HEA, you’re hit with another drama cycle. It becomes tiring.
This book was so perfect! Best if anyone want to read enemies to lovers... They hate each other but still care .... One thing you have to be patient in the starting as it starts with slone's father's death but it'll get interesting afterwards! I loved their past parts in book the were the perfect connection and reasonable reaction of the current situation of theirs. I would have given 5 star rating but initially it bored me somehow so I'm giving 4 star instead...
I loved these books! The characters are fun, always something ridiculous going on in this small town where everyone knows each other. There is descriptive hanky panky under the sheets, that was a bit more than I bargained for, but I love the stories of this group of friends, of love and hate, laughter and tears, family and friends. What stands out in this series is family is first and good friends are family, too.
I loved so many things about this book. In particular Knox and Waylay... more than Naomi... but she's good, too... this particular story was about his resistance to his desire for the girl... and his gradual acceptance. The plot... the crime plot... is as thin as paper. That kept it from a higher rating... but this book is a rom com disguised as a grumpy sunshine... ok... it is grumpy sunshine... anyway. I liked it. Felt it was a tad long... but Lucy Score wrote memorable characters.
The first book was great. Typical love story with sexual encounters intertwined. The ending was also very typical and to be expected. The second and third book were like reading the first book over again. The female lead and the male lead characters have the same personality in every book. The drama is the same, the endings are the same… just slapped different names on the characters. If you like a simple read with romance and sex, this is for you. I just wouldn’t expect any more than that.
I absolutely have book hangover from this book series. I couldn’t read them all fast enough. I love that each book is based on one set of characters but still incorporates every character for a continuing story line. Book 3 is my personal favorite, Lucian though!!!!!! Highly recommend for an adult reader who wants something simple and fun.
One of my favorite series to date. The characters get your heart, the stories the tell keep you interested, and the love they have is what you dream about. All 3 books brought me to tears by the end and it broke my heart to finish the last one. I wish I could reread it all again and feel the way I felt the first time reading.
I really enjoyed this series. The author does a really nice job tying the stories together but keeping them separate. There are plenty of plot twists and she gives you everything you want. It makes me want to meet and get to know Lucy Score. I don’t love that it glorifies/normalizes violence and drinking, but the violence adds to the suspense and action of the book.
The characters stories were well developed. I love reading love stories that are predictable and have a happy ending (which they all are and do). However, they all seemed to have wayyyyy too similar of a storyline. It was almost too predictable. I also am not a huge fan of all of the books lately having so much LGBTQ characters in them. Too woke for me.

My favorite series I've ever read! It can become a little repetitive but you fall in love with the characters and setting so much, you don't even realize it. The author really allows you to form a connection with each other the characters and pulls you in. Such a great series!!
