Rate this book
First crush, first love, first kiss—in this addition to the sweet and clean Flirt series, Chloe finds that there’s more than just horses waiting for her at the ranch this summer.Chloe can hardly believe it when she lands a summer job mucking stalls at one of the best dude ranches in Colorado. Things only get better when she meets Stephen. He’s funny, friendly, and hardworking—a welcome antidote to Chloe’s daily doses of Zach, the cocky, self-satisfied fellow ranch hand. When a trailer full of new colts arrives for training, Chloe is given the job of caring for them. She’s looking forward to spending time with Stephen, but then Zach is assigned to help with the training and Chloe’s plans for moonlight rides and watching sunsets are squashed. But as the summer continues, Chloe starts to see a different side of Zach as he works with the horses—and she starts to wonder if maybe she judged him too harshly. Could there be something between them after all?

This is definitely a good read during summer especially when you want to read a short and sweet contemporary novel that makes you squeal.

~Pros~
I really like how detailed the authors described the surroundings and things that occurred. From how heavy the bag seems to how comforting and welcoming the breeze felt. It made me seem as if I'm experiencing those events myself. What I like most about this book is that it consists of day to day problems that people face and I enjoy reading how Chloe, Zach and Stephen does to overcome the problems that they faced. What impacted me the most is their sheer determination to accomplish and overcome such challenges, makes me cheer when they succeeded and get upset when they didn't.

~Cons~ (SPOILERS!)
The only thing that I didn't like is Stephen's character. He kind of look up to his brother a bit too much? It's like he doesn't really have any opinion and just follows what his brother wants him to do. At times, I could see him trying to oppose his brother, but at the same time, he was pretty hesitant while doing so. It just ticks me off and makes me want to knock some sense into him.

~SPOILERS~
The part which I enjoy the most in this book is Chloe and Zach journey in helping Magic to overcome his fears. (I wouldn't count Stephen in as he basically spooked the horse rather than helping him. -.-) The patience that they have in coaxing and guiding Magic to build trust in humans once more is extraordinary. Never once did they push the horse's boundaries unlike a certain someone... >_>

The moment when Zach opens up to Chloe and told her about his brother is when all the sadness start to come in. To lose a kin is definitely not easy for one to accept and for Zach to open up to a stranger whom he had just met at the start of summer is something that I wouldn't have been able to accomplish. Nonetheless, I'm glad with how the things had turned out.

Overall, this book is a good short read and I will definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to read a short and cute novel that will melt your heart inside out.

YA romantic fiction set on a ad horse ranch in Colorado. Chloe from Cincinnati worked at a horse stable in town, but now she has a summer job at a real dude ranch. In the beginning, Stephen brother of the manager comes across as a perfect gentleman who cares about the horses and the ranch in contrast to cocky full of himself Zach. When one of the colts comes in with a problem that will affect the whole staff and guests, the outcome affects their relationships. Who can change the colt’s future? How? What will it take to do that? Who will see it through and who will not?
+ beautiful descriptions of Colorado countryside, mountains and back country
+ descriptions of horse grooming, training, interactions and the incredible trust relationship between horses and riders only a fraction of their size

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun and exciting book to read. I was kinda upset that Chloe chose Stephen before she chose Zach, but it was all good in the end when they worked everything out. I didn't like the way Stephen handled Magic. He was kinda making me mad towards the end of the book because he was starting to think about himself and his position, instead of Magic and the way that he needed to be treated. Zach melted my heart, he was so flirty and witty and I loved it. He hid his emotions well and slowly let Chloe in about his past. They were meant to be together it was lovely the way that Chloe found herself to be with Zach instead of Stephen.

This book was really good. I loved it! The ending kind of makes you wonder what would happen next. They definitely need to make another book to follow this one. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to unexpected people to fall in love or books that have a girl who likes two boys then has a hard time choosing between the two.

Over this summer I read the book Sunset Ranch (Flirt) by A. Destiny and Emma Carlson Berne and I liked it quite a lot. This book did go into a lot of detail about horses and owning a ranch, which is why it was able to keep my attention and be enjoyable for me. Although if you don't have a pasaion for horses as I do, it most likely would not be your cup of tea. My favorite part of the book was hearing about how Chloe (the main charecter) got to work with the colts and saved one from the slaughter house. I also quite enjoyed the authors writing style and the overall plot of the story. However, a couple aspects I was a little disappointed in was the romantic tie between the main charecters and the general path the author took when writring parts of the plot because I found them cliché and not my style. Overall though I thought it was an interesting quick read and I do reccomed it to anyone who either likes being around horses or would like to learn a little bit about them.

Obviously, this isn't "great literature," but if you're looking for a short, cutesy, summer-y contemporary romance, this will certainly do the trick. The writing didn't blow me away, and I didn't find myself super impressed, but I didn't expect to be. A book like this is all about expectations. I expected a cute, short contemporary romance, and that's what I got. I enjoyed the characters and it honestly made me want to move to Colorado and live on a ranch. For what I expected to get, it was pretty solid.

Chloe is excited to spend the summer working at a dude ranch in Colorado. Things get more interesting when she meets ranch hand Stephen and he takes an interest in her. She spends her days working with the horses and her off time trying to flirt with Stephen. There is another ranch hand that Chloe thinks about as well, Zach. But Zach gets on her nerves more often than not. Then a skittish horse comes to the ranch and Chloe, Stephen and Zach devise a plan to keep the horse from being sent away to the meat factory. A cute, quick read.

This is a perfect book for a younger YA reader. It's super sweet without much substance. Chloe goes to spend a summer working on a ranch and before she's even left the airport, she has two guys clearly interested in her. It was a bit hard to engage with the book from that point and this was a DNF for me.
