Reign of a Billionaire

Rate this book
Kingston Ashford.
An enigma.
The ghost.

His skills are unparalleled. His motives clear. His lethality unquestionable. His only purpose is to obliterate the kingdom that had stolen more than his innocence from him.

Until he crosses paths with a ghost from his past and he’s drawn into the woman’s web.

Liana Volkov. An ice princess with murderous plans. The unstable killer with the face of an angel.

Something big is happening in the belly of the underworld. Realities are shattered. A deadly game is played, tearing apart the kingdom from within the belly of the beast. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

The line between enemies and allies is blurred. Mysteries unravel. Histories clash. Desires consume. Nothing is as it seems.

A new reign is born.

I have to admit that I was uneasy for 3/4 of this book. I was feeling icky because of the supposed premise, and I've lost count of the number of times I had the urge to DNF this.

The thing is, Liana and Louisa were identical twins, and Kingston has been their bodyguard since they were 8 and he was 14. And Kingston and Louisa were in love and had plans for the three of them to escape their witch mother. King and Louisa tried, but they were caught and tortured together. He saw her die in front of him, and he was helpless to do anything to save her.

Then 8 years passed, and Kingston (32) saw Liana (26) in one event, and he felt this uncontrollable anger towards her. He hates that she's alive, and her twin, also the love of his life, was buried six feet under in an unknown location. So he stalked her to find out the whereabouts of her mother because, at this point, he thought she was working alongside her.

So here goes the spoiler. The problem is that, up until the 74% mark, Kingston thought Louisa was Liana. And yes, she didn't die after all. Also, tbf with Louisa; her witch mother made her go through electroshock therapy for the last 8 years and brainwashed her into thinking she was Liana. And with every rebellion, she was tortured for it until she lost some of her memories and even her own identity.

This is why I felt so uneasy for the majority of the story. For a huge part of it, the readers were made to believe that the H is falling for his late girlfriend's sister. It's. Not. Cool. And dear Lord, the sibling's ex trope is definitely not my jam. Moreso the fact that the siblings are identical twins. 🤧

Kingston thought she's Liana, but there's something about her that was calling to him. There's an attraction brewing, and he kept repeating in his inner monologues that he loved Louisa and the feeling that he's having felt like a betrayal to her memory.

Also, when Louisa still thinks she's Liana, she's conflicted with her feelings too. In her head, she knows Kingston was her sister's man, yet she doesn't feel any regret about fooling around with him.

These two people proclaim to love Louisa and yet have no problem acting on their hormones. While I have a guess that the FMC is the real Louisa, the reality is that I'm still unsure if I was right, and I don't want to skim the story just to prove my assumption either. Hence, why I feel a lot of discomfort reading this.

The thing that gave me the most ick was that the first time they had sex (as adults) was at 74%, and around this time they still didn't know the truth. So in this scenario, Kingston still thinks he's fucking Liana, and as for her, she intentionally chooses to screw her sister's man. It's just gross and icky! 🤢

They only found out the truth after this tryst because he saw the tattoo that he put on her. And that's when everything made sense to Kingston, and after that realization, he made sure to make Louisa remember everything.

While the last 25% kind of made up for the disaster that happened in the first 75%, the uneasiness still lingers for some reason. Sure, I got my confirmation that I was right, but the constant back and forth in my mind about whether she's Louisa or not drained the heck out of me.

Anyhoo, I did enjoy the retaliation and the fact that they were each other's first and both celibate for the last eight years. But I feel like the witch mother had it so easy. I wish the torture was prolonged.

Overall, this is okay, but a bit long for my taste. Probably because there were a lot of flashbacks. Setting aside that, I still enjoyed it, and readers have to stick with it for awhile before the story gets better. It was honestly frustrating at the beginning, but I did come around to eventually like it. Also, I love the epilogue and to see them as parents and officially living out the dreams they had when they were both young.

Ahh, I love this series. These men are chefs kiss.

𝑰 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒍. 𝑴𝒚 𝒇𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒇𝒍𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓. 𝒀𝒐𝒖, 𝒔𝒖𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒆, 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒚 𝒇𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒇𝒍𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓.

If you have been reading Eva's books, you'll know that we have been waiting for Kingston's book, and let me tell you, she did not disappoint us!

Kingston's story was an emotional roller coaster. Yes, it is a slow burn, but she does it so well.
She threw us a curveball, and I know I wasn't the only one who was like whoa, I didn't see that coming.

𝑰'𝒍𝒍 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖, 𝒊𝒏 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆, 𝒊𝒏 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒉, 𝒊𝒏 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒆.

Liana and Kingston have some hilarious banter and HOT, steamy sexual chemistry, and as always, the spice is top-tier!

This series is so addicting, and if you haven't read the first book, I suggest you start with Contract of a Billionaire. Thank me later. 😉

Hurry up, April, because I can't wait to read Kinks of a Billionaire!

Absolute roller coaster ride!

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Angst: 😱😱😱1\2
Smexy: 🔥🔥1\2

Absolute Eva Winners perfection! I normally list the tropes, but some of them are spoilers and I don't want to ruin it for anyone. Such a heart wrenching journey that completely broke our MCs before putting them back together again. Super slow burn, but perfect in the context of the story. Their chemistry is so hot it compensated by being the f0replay we didn't know we needed, lol. Great writing with some great twists you may or may not see coming. Lots of breadcrumbs for future reads along with the cameos from past books we love so much ❤. Probably my favorite book of the series, Ghost was definitely worth waiting for!

YESSS!!! KINGSTON STORY!!! When i first saw this i was like immediately go for it cause kingston is the only ashford brother that is interesting to me idk why. Like in the beginning I really like him! So I was waiting for his story cause his brothers love story is pretty boring and just not romantic in my opinion lol. There was a LITTLE BIT ODD about the story cause some of the story is still missing and just not detailed enough. Idk why tho, maybe the author forgot the characters past life when the author introduced them in other books😅😄😄 Cause it was definitely missing, even the important things 😬😬 Which you will see down bellow of what it is…. BUT OVERALL THIS STORY OF KINGSTON AND HIS TRUE LOVE IS SOOO ROMANTIC ❤️ THE MOST ROMANTIC ONE IN ALL OF HIS BROTHERS IN MY OPINION SERIOUSLY…. Which you will see down bellow cause i will definitely be detailed about all of it!!!! No doubt about it 😏

This love story of KINGSTON is dark romance BUT SAFE ALL THE WAY LIKE LITERALLY SOOO SAFE. There’s a dark history behind each of the main characters cause both of them grows in a HARD CRAZY FVCKED UP LIFE. If you’ve been reading from this author for so long, you know the story of the series is not a easy love story. But it comes with hard past life and hard crime violence too… THIS ONE is definitely a dark romance BUT THEIR LOVE STORY focused on the PRESENT TIME is pretty much romantic, sweet, passionate, kinky, lovey dovey, fairy-tale and addictive! 💖💖 IT’S JUST THE WORLD OUTSIDE THE ROMANCE is very dark for both of them. But thankfully they can come through it together and strongly in love ❤️

🔥🔥🔥SPOILER BELLOW :

SPOILER!!!!!

BUT FIRST I WILL WRITE SOME OF THE MISSING THINGS ON THIS BOOK THAT FOR ME PERSONALLY THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT (so sad that the author didn’t add the importance of the storyline🥲)

1. THERE WAS NO SCENE OF THE REUNION IN WHEN KINGSTON ANNOUNCED TO HIS BROTHERS HE CAME BACK AND HIS SISTER FOUND HIM. LIKE WHAT THE HELL???! Alexei said in his POV “It was rough seeing the reunion. And I knew it was hardest on Kingston, though he handled it well.” Yeah and why that didn’t add to this story of kingston book???! 🥲 Super disappointed on that one for sure because i was waiting for that and curious about it for a year 😒 that’s when i said that the author forgot to add this important scene to the book where the main characters were in it 😬 WHY!!!!!
2. The heroine in this book turns out to be Wynter, basilio’s wife from Villainous KingPin book, grandmother! LIKE FREAKIN GRANDMOTHER. CAUSE THIS HEROINE’S OLDEST SISTER IS WYNTER’S GRANDMOTHER. So that means they’re still family! Question is, WHY THERE IS NO SCENE OF THEM REUNITE AND TALK ABOUT IT???! LIKE WHY?! THAT’S IMPORTANT!!!!!! In every series of this author’s book that have the same characters because many of them are related and close friends, i can count like MORE THAN FIVE FREAKIN NOVEL THAT TALKS ABOUT THIS SOFIA VOLKOV CHARACTER AND WITH HER RELATIONSHIP WITH WINTER. SO WHY THERE’S NO SCENE OF THEM OR SOMETHING ABOUT THEM MEETING?! OR WINTER’S MOM MEETING HER GRANDMOTHER IS SOFIA. I know sofia is the meanest character ever but like come on. It suppose to have a scene between them! It should be like that tho😬
For me, if you want to add important roles in the characters. You have to really write it more of the scenes together and explained it more and make more of the story! ISN’T THAT WHAT BOOKS SUPPOSE TO BE???!! It’s like watching a movie from a novel that didn’t add more scenes into it…. LIKE THOSE TWO ARE VERY IMPORTANT!!! 🙄 And when there no scene of that, it makes it really MISSING. It’s like a freakin cliffhanger…. CLIFFHANGER.

‼️‼️‼️ And the COVER 😒. Why the cover is like a man who is drunk looking and looks so confused to be in the cover???! 🙄🤣 SERIOUSLY. WHEN I SAW THE COVER I WAS LIKE WHAT IS GOING ON…. IN MY OPINION KINGSTON IS NOT LIKE THIS AT ALL 😆 For me kingston is like from exuma bong-gill looking if i have to compared it with asian actor. OR JON DRETTO BUT TALLER AND MORE BULKY. NOT THIS ONE ON THE COVER LIKE THAT’S JUST NOT IT 😭😭 the cover needs to be more badass like sasha! THIS COVER PORTRAYS KINGSTON WHO IS THE YOUNGEST BROTHER BUT IT LOOKS LIKE HE IS SO OLD TO BE THE OLDEST BROTHER🥵 HIS BROTHERS COVERS LOOKS MORE YOUNGER THAN THIS ONE 😬

It’s a story about a woman and a man who found themselves in the darkest moments in life. And fall in love… And not only they fall in love, but the hero is far more obsessed with the heroine even though at one point in life he thought she was dead…. He never stops loving her….

“Every lifetime, every scenario, life or death, I’ll always come. My heart beats within yours, and yours within mine.”

🥺💜

‼️‼️‼️TRIGGERS: Detailed high violence scenes and there was many but not a lot, many killings, deaths, PTSD, alcohol, kidnapping, human trafficking, crime and tortures.

(I skipped some of the scenes that too hard for my eyes to read and imagine).

‼️‼️‼️SAFE ROMANTIC HOT DARK ROMANCE LOVE STORY…

SAFE ALL THE WAY….

SO SAFE DON’T WORRY 🥺

‼️‼️‼️BOTH ARE VIRGIN.

BOTH ARE EACH OTHER’S FIRST AND LAST AND ONLY 🥹🥹😭😭

AGAIN. THIS IS SO RARE FROM THE AUTHOR TO WRITE THIS. SO THANKYOU😭😭

SO RARE🥵🥵

‼️‼️‼️NO CHEATING

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS OVER THE TOP POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE BILLIONAIRE ASSASSIN MAFIA BOSS ALPHA MALE.

YES he is a assassin but also at the same time a boss lol.

BEST PART: HE IS NOT A FREAKIN MANWHOR3 LIKE HIS BROTHERS!!!! 😍😍😍 HE IS NOT GUYS!!!!! WOW FINALLY THE AUTHOR WRITES A HERO THAT IS NOT A MANWHOR3 WHICH SUPER RARE. I REPEAT. SUPER RARE 😄 So thanks author cause I’m tired of the manwhor3 heroes you always write from time to time lol.

The hero’s personality is very interesting. He is mysterious like Alexei and since the beginning of his POV he is still close with Alexei which is a very great thing to see… He doesn’t like to be touched but only from his family and niece nephew. He doesn’t like the crowd, he pretty much like the hottest introverted ever lol. BUT HE WAS NOT A AZZHOLE THO…. he pretty much likable but mysterious. he still have a great relationship with his siblings and especially his only sister.

‼️‼️‼️THE HEROINE. The heroine is very beautiful but yet dangerous assassin! SHE KNOWS HOW TO KILL AND DEFEND HERSELF PHYSICALLY EMOTIONALLY. SHE IS SASSY BUT NOT STUPID LOL.

The heroine’s personality is very interesting too. She is like the hero, like to kept it to herself and fight enemies and kill… She really knows how to fight and likes to fight. She’s a killer for sure 🔥🔥

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS SOOOO OBSESSED WITH THE HEROINE…. Literally she’s the reason he is alive and the one thing that kept him going. He always say that like all the freakin time ❤️❤️ Even in the beginning HE ALWAYS DECLARES HIS LOVE FOR HER. It’s so freakin romantic! He is hard to anyone and only soft to his sister and heroine😍

“I needed to get to the woman who proved to me that life was worth living despite darkness and nightmares thrown our way. She was mine, and I’d stop at nothing to bring her home. Together, we were invincible. We were one, an unbreakable unit.”

“She was my other half. My light in the darkness. She was my everything.”

“My obsession with Louisa became oxygen and water. It was born out of emotions that the world had almost erased.”

“I was a lucky fucking bastard that she picked me to love out of all the people in this world.”

“She was the best thing that had ever happened to me. Her strength helped me survive every fucking storm throughout my miserable life. My heart beat only for her, in the rhythm of hers, and this need for her was part of my DNA.”

🥺❤️

‼️‼️‼️NOT MANY JEALOUS SCENES FROM THE HERO AND HEROINE cause both always together and never let anyone else touches them….

“Anyone touches Sofia Volkov’s daughter and I’ll have their teeth decorating my mantel.”

“And I’ll bring every goddamned alliance in the underworld down if it means protecting her.”

‼️‼️‼️IT HAS SEPARATION FOR EIGHT (8) YEARS.

BUT DO NOT WORRY.

CAUSE BOTH ARE CELIBATE DURING THOSE 8 YEARS!!!!! YES YOU READ IT RIGHT!!! CELIBATE FOR 8 YEARS!!! BOTH OF THEM!!!! 🥹🥹🥹 WHAT A MIRACLE OF THE AUTHOR TO WRITE THIS CAUSE THIS IS SUPEEER RARE 🥹🥹🥹 BOTH NEVER EVER TOUCH ANYONE ELSE…. NEVER EVER.

“There hasn’t been anyone since, sunshine. I thought you were dead, but I couldn’t handle anyone else’s touch. I decided I’d wait for you in hopes that we’d at least get an afterlife together.”

“Since Louisa’s death, my cock hadn’t responded to a single woman. I grieved my sunshine, then turned to celibacy with the full intention of dying that way.”

“I didn’t understand why I never bothered with any men until we crossed paths.”

❤️❤️

‼️‼️‼️LOCATION: New York, Russia and some island that the hero bought for them.

‼️‼️‼️THE CHEMISTRY IS FREAKIN ROMANTIC 🔥❤️❤️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Definitely you will feel it!

‼️‼️‼️LOVE IN FIRST SIGHT.

‼️‼️‼️IT HAS PUSHING AWAY FROM THE HERO AND HEROINE AT FIRST BUT NEVER TOO MUCH….

‼️‼️‼️DRAMA WITH ENEMIES A LOT.

NO DRAMA WITH OW AND OM. ONLY WITH THE ENEMIES CAUSE THIS IS A DARK ROMANCE CONTAINS WITH CRIME FIGHTING MAFIA LIKE THAT….

And some of family drama and drama of themselves 😄

‼️‼️‼️NO STRIP CLUB.

‼️‼️‼️NO EX FVCK BUDDY OR EX GIRL BOY SHOWS UP. BECAUSE BOTH ARE EACH OTHER FIRSTS AND LAST AND ONLY ❤️❤️❤️🥹🥹🥹

So none of that bullsh*t 😍😍

‼️‼️‼️HAPPY ENDING.

Married and have adorable kids ❤️❤️❤️

⚡️⚡️⚡️THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING MY REVIEW. Even if you hate my review i still say thank you so much cause you spend your time reading this one👻 I’m not a professional reviewer or professional reader. I’m just someone who likes to read novels that is safe and no cheating whatsoever. And many more that i like lol😆 I DID NOT GET PAID TO DO THIS. This is just basically me writing my review based on my personal opinion about the book if it’s safe or what I will write it all down just the way i like it 😏 I know my review can be very straightforward with the way i write it down all of it and not a professional writing because again I’m not professional reviewer anyway. And whatever negativity you might think of what i write or what my thoughts are on my review about a book, me and you are not the same person. I have my own types of book and you have your own. You have your own thoughts and same with me. You can’t control what I should write on my review and neither should I. I WILL NOT TOLERATE NEGATIVE COMMENT AND I WON’T EVER REPLIED TO IT. If you still don’t like what i write and my disclaimer here, IT’S A YOU PROBLEM. NOT MINE😙 HAVE A GREAT DAY❤️❤️❤️

Types of book that I’m looking for: SAFE, safe all the way from the beginning till the end🥵 No cheating, no unnecessary childish drama. Not too much OW DRAMA cause they are loud and annoying lol. NO to still having feelings about a ex especially wants go get back together tf no. NO to friends with benefits and still seeing other people type of sh*t. NO to hero or heroine who said i love you and have been obsessed but still likes to fvck around yeah big NO to that sh*t. NOOO to still married or still in a relationship with someone else while liking the main character, yeah they have to be single since the beginning. NOOO to a long separation and have someone else they have s3x with during the separation. NOO to too many times of separation and breaking up sh*t. NOO to toxic narcissistic characters.
I preferred the characters are loyal to the core, over the top possessive heroes since the beginning and never stops, main characters have unique jobs or talents, the hero adores and obsessed with the heroine so much, the hero fell harder for the heroine and don’t want let her go and fight for her. And most importantly EPILOGUE AND ESPECIALLY THE DECADES LATER SCENE…. HAPPY ENDING IS A MUST. Chemistry is a must too 🙏🏼

OH MY GOD, this is by far one of my favourite book ever.
Kingston and Liana deserve the entire world and everything good that happens to them. They went through so much that it hurts me thinking about it.

They have a past together, and that is something that we are in suspense for a great part of the book, Liana had a twin sister, and both Kingston and her suffer from her death.
The way that I HATE SO MUCH her mother, and I love Liana so much, and I hate her mother even more for everything that she made her went through. Her past was heartbreaking, everything that we learn about her is.
Kingston and Liana may be my favourite couple of all Eva's books. They belong together and they are soulmates in all the lifes.

This is another masterpieces by Eva Winners, I will never get tired of reading and waiting for her books, she never dissapoints.

I received an Arc copy in exchange of an honest review.

4.5/5⭐️
3.5/5🌶

My Rating: 5 stars!

** ARC was generously provided in exchange for my honest review. **

😲 Give me a minute to pick my jaw up off the floor. Because… damn.

It’s a masterful piece of writing. It has striking world-building, intricate chain of events, and was so emotionally propelled that it effortlessly transported me into Kingston’s and Liana’s harsh world. With each page I was pulled further and further into an immersive, yet highly twisted labyrinth.

I’ve said this in my other book reviews for this series— Billionaire Kings is by far my favourite series by Winners, and after having read this newest addition, I can re-iterate it. I absolutely loved the tropes and plot twists included. Kingston’s and Liana’s story is uniquely theirs. It’s still a billionaire romance but includes mafia/ organised crime elements within. It’s darker, more grittier, and a lot bloodier than the previous books in the series. It contains sensitive subject matters that may be triggering for some readers. It delves in strong graphic violence, kidnapping, child abuse, torture, human trafficking, sexual abuse, and death. It’s not for the fainthearted, and is intended for readers 18+ only.

Kingston and Liana have bound themselves to one another. They have a deep, complex history, and throughout a span of their lives, the connection that tethered them together never wavered. I devoured this book purely on the fact that I was wholly invested in seeing how things will unravel between them. If you enjoy dark romances filled with mystery and suspense, this book is not to be missed.

I’ve read countless romance books, plenty in the dark, mafia sub-genres. But I’ve only encountered a handful of “fierce” and “badass” heroines that have actually lived up to those descriptors. Liana, I can happily say fits the bill, and during my reading experience firmly held my attention.

Kingston (aka Ghost) is a complex character, and we finally get his full backstory. He’s screwy and broody, and not one to be messed with, but knowing the reasons behind his personality, it’s not hard to love and respect him for it.

These MCs have been to hell and back, and to hell again. The story was in-depth, felt relatively hefty, and was constantly progressing. The storytelling is told between a few different POVs, and goes back and forth from past to present through flashbacks, which could easily disrupt the flow, but I didn’t get any of that reading this one. It was well-paced and kept a satisfying build-up of anticipation.

It’s full of secrecy. The premise barely skimmed the surface of Kingston’s and Liana’s story. It’s a book that really needs to be experienced by the reader first-hand. Without spoilers or a full list of tropes revealed. Once you start, you’ll quickly realise where the direction of the story is heading. I’m not sure if the main “plot twist” was meant to be unpredictable (as there were signs everywhere), but I thought it was obvious nonetheless. However, it didn’t take away from the thrill of seeing developments unfold.

I recommend readers be up-to-date with Winners’ multiverse of books as they all interconnect through the characters. With this book being on the darker side, a lot of the time the backdrop is set within the underworld. Secondary characters involved in the mafia/organised crime play pivotal roles, and Kingston and Liana are in the heart of it alongside them. It can be read as a standalone, but in my opinion, the importance of certain characters and relationships will not necessarily have the same impact unless you’ve read Winners’ other books— specifically the previous books in the Billionaire Kings, as well as the Belles & Mobsters series.

The secondary characters not only amped up the story, but certain characters had me excited to read upcoming books. Winners is always adding teasers of confirmed future couples (or possible pairings), and this one introduced a couple of new characters that have me mentally keeping tabs on now.

I couldn’t fault this book. I loved it from start to finish. Yes, if I had to nit-pick there were a couple of questionable actions made by these characters but blips in the grand scheme of things. Kingston and Liana are an unbelievable pairing. They’re freaking formidable! I love that their journey was a Herculean feat. That from darkness there was light. I loved that despite the brokenness, they came out as survivors, fighters; both of whom exuded strength. That they never lost the ability to love either. If there was ever a couple who deserved a HEA, it was these two. Hell, it was a long time coming!

✔ Billionaire Romance
✔ Dark Romance
✔ Enemies to Allies to Lovers
✔ Slow Burn
✔ Mafia/ Organised Crime
✔ Suspense

Five stars all-around. Five stars for storytelling. Five stars for flow. Five stars for character growth. Five stars for the sizzling scenes. Five stars for the action and suspense. Five stars for the well-executed tropes and elements. You get the gist. 👌 It’s a page-turner.

Kingston (32) & Sofia Volkov’s daughter (26). I was curious to read about him because he is a mystery and we knew he had been through much from the previous books.

There are maaaaany flashbacks in this story which make the pace a bit slow. I’d say this is a slow-burn book given that the MCs actually decide to act on their feelings way after the 50% mark.

It’s an emotional read; there is a lot of pain and suffering for both of them, most of which is in the past, as well as secrets and plot twists. I liked it but I would prefer a slightly different format at some points; some chapters are tiny and some things were too easy.

-Dual 1st person POV

Overall: 4/5 ⭐️ for me.

“Reign of a Billionaire” is the story of “Liana” and Kingston.

This is a book about grief, lost memories, revenge and loyalty. Both the heroine and hero are fighting evil, while meeting again and discovering secrets of their shared past. This book goes back and forth between past and present, and even though it’s low on romance, this has lots of drama.
I’ll be honest- I read this series out of order hence I knew what the climax and big reveal would be- hence the book was a bit underwhelming- even though very well written.

I preferred the book more but this wasn’t bad too! Anything more would be spoiler.

Eva did her job with this book. Being that the opening of this book was tragic… chef’s kiss 💋.

Seeing how the world of Kingston and Liana collided in such an insane way kept my attention. Seeing how one person destroyed so much of their lives was heartbreaking and aggravating. I definitely appreciated the character development of both main characters. I am also a sucker for dual POV narratives.

It took me a LONG time to get into this book I am not going to lie, I nearly dnfed a few times but I'm so glad I continued.

I don't want to give too much away but I was not liking the plot for majority of this book. But the plot twist made up for it.

Liliana was a mix of strong and vulnerable.
I am not going to lie I didn't really care for Kingston.

I appreciate the flashbacks but I'm just not a flashback girl so I did skim most of them

Omg one moment I absolutely loved was her getting so jealous with the therapist and Kingston. I would've loved to see more of that. (She was jealous because he spoke to the therapist)

My favourite of the series is definitely still misdeeds of a billionaire.

Estuve a punto de abandonarlo en los primeros capítulos, pero de terca seguí adelante.

"We moved through the moonless night like two spirits in the shadows."

I knew with that very first sentence, in the very first paragraph, that this ride was going to be not only very bumpy but very crazy. And what a ride it was! We've been waiting ever so patiently for Ghost's story and I can assure you, the wait was worth it!

I have so many questions and so many theories. Giovanni? The other twin?
So many twists. So many turns.

Celibate while separated: yes (8years)
Intimacy details: each others’ firsts, rough sex, oral, no condom, masturbating, semi-exhibitionism
Standalone/Series : can be read as a standalone but better read the previous books (a part of Eva Winner’s mafia universe)

Hero : Kingston Ashford (24-32)
Heroine: Liana/Louisa Volkov (18-26)

Typical Eva Winners. She always includes separation in her books and in this one both MCs got 8 years of separation.

In this Louisa that was supposedly be the kind hearted, innocent woman turned into a harden killer by her own mom. Her mom brain washed her into believing she was her twin, Liana.

Kingston was kidnapped when he was 10 by the twins’ mom and he was abused and tortured for years until he met the twins when he was 15, he saved Lou from almost being killed by a guy. The mom decided to make him their twins’ bodyguard.

Fastforward to him being 24 and Lou being 18. They were in love with each other and decided to ran away together with her sister. But her sister was kidnapped by the cartel and both Kingston and Lou were caught by her mom.

They were tortured and Kingston thought Lou died that day. He was saved by Alexei.

8 years later, Kingston became the feared ‘Ghost’ and Lou became Liana. She forgot she was Louisa and when Kingston saw her, he hated her. Somewhat blaming her for ‘Lou’s’ death.

They interacted and Kingston got confused bcs she didn’t recognize him. He sort of stalked her a couple of times and found out she was actually working against her mom and managed to saved lots of women that were trafficked by her mom.

Kingston got intrigued. Then he felt lust towards her despite him thinking she was Liana.

Long story short, they worked together to save women and tried to kill Sofia, the mom. Then one day when Kingston’s control snapped and he finally had sex with ‘Liana’, he found the tattoo that he drew on Lou’s neck and realized she was indeed Lou and not Liana.

Not long after that Lou remembered, not everything but she knew she was actually Lou. They tried to find Liana.

In the end the mom got caught by them and all the people she wronged agreed to kill her slowly. But one day Lou and Kingston killed her.

The epilogue only told us about them having twins set 4 years after they killed Sofia. Nothing about Liana. Didn’t say whether she died or nah since they had a finger of hers.

Overall a good book to pass time and I’ currently in the mood for dark-ish romances.

Reign of a Billionaire is book four in Eva Winners' Billionaire Kings series. A series which follows a different leading man in the mafia world down his own dark, debauched and dangerous journey, often picking up a woman on the way whom they weren't expecting, didn't want or tried their best at resisting their temptations.

Previously in books one to three in the series, we saw the Ashford brothers in abstract but with this and Secrets of a Billionaire , we're getting an up-close-and-personal look at them, their lives, secrets and more. Winston and Billie continued this series with their own explosive, dramatic and breath-stealing story in book three, setting us up nicely for the next Ashford brother to stroll in, take over and begin a brand new reign on our bookish hearts.

Thankfully not a great deal of time has passed since our last instalment in the series--a month, give or take--, so everything is still fresh in our minds with where things were left. At least, that is what happened with me. Eva's books are memorable among the many wonderful things about them. That said, as with every book I've been lucky enough to read of hers, she always does a brilliant spoiler-free recap of things. Just in case you jump a book or two ahead even if each read is a standalone in the series. She also has a series connection map on her social media if you'd like to know how each book/series is linked to another. I've found it handy with every updated version with a new release added to it.

Kingston has been much of a mystery of a man right from the very first mention of him in the series. It was unknown to us--until now--as to what happened to him, what he went through and how he came to be back in their underworld. All the questions and theories we've all been having about him, have been answered here by Eva, telling Kingston's story with one badass woman in tow. Albeit unplanned for and unexpected, things are set to get even more interesting from their 'first' meeting, right until we turned the last page.

Kingston's reign has begun, and it's starting off on a broody, bloody and brutal start.

Though slow to get going, things soon sped up and kicked into the only gear that any of the Billionaire Kings know how to do things in. Overdrive. They don't do things by halves or at a relaxed speed, and Kingston is following on in their footsteps with his on style, flair and unhinged dynamic. He's everything dark, dangerous and ruthless that we love about a leading man, a mafia man and one of Eva's MMCs. But will he change or his life change--for good or for worse--when 'Liana Volkov' puts herself permanently in his timeline of events.

Will he share his reign of terror and torture with her? Or does he only work alone? That, you'll all have to discover yourselves when you read their story.

Kingston's skills are unparalleled. From a young age, his mind, body and soul was crafted into something lethal and unquestionably deadly. There's only one purpose he's been put on this planet to achieve and carry out, and that is obliterating the kingdom that was singularly responsible in taking more than his innocence away from him.

His path crosses with someone--a ghost--from his past, leading to finding himself being ensnared into the web of a woman who is not only the daughter of someone lethal within the world he operates in, but is also a dark, painful reminder of one of the only lights in his life that he has long-since lost. She is an ice princess with the most murderous of plans. An unstable killer with thanks to her genes, a face of an angel. A deadly, unhinged woman on the inside, a temptress on the out. Something Kingston is finding it harder by the day, not to be entranced by.

Distractions aside, something brings Kingston's attention back into focus on the task at hand. Something big is happening within the underworld that has raised and shaped him. Realities of those within it are being shattered into millions of pieces, deadly games are being played on all fronts, and every day that passes there is something going on to continue the tearing apart of their kingdom right from within the bowls and belly of the beasts that run it. Just to begin with. As per the life of the underworld--if you compare it to hell--there are so many layers and a never-ending number of beasts and threats to be slain.

What was once was clear, now lies very blurred. The clear distinction between enemies and allies is clear no more. There's no way of knowing, or trusting, who aligns with who, what their true intentions are and if those who you trust will have you back, or stab it without hesitation. Mysteries that have spanned various lengths of time are unravelled, laid bare for all to see. Histories and pasts clash with one another and the desires that have been contained are no longer held back but are let free to consume those who let it take over them. Kingston and Liana are no exception to this, desire holds them in its firm grip.

Though the underworld has been a place where nothing is certain and where anything can happen, everything is off the table, cards are being held firmly to chests, and nothing is as it seems. Not even the most in the know within this world could predict or expect what could happen next. For someone like Kingston who is a born survivor, this may be the one time that his luck of survival runs out for good.

We're four books deep now into this five-book series, and my love for it continues to grow rather than falter. Kingston is our third Ashford beside Winston and Byron, and there's something about these Ashford men that has all of us in such a chokehold. They are so unique in themselves that despite being brothers, they differ as much as they are the same. Kingston is just as ruthless as his brothers, but there is definitely a whole new level of it by nature of what he went through compared to them.

I did guess the big twist in this story from early on in the book, which is definitely not a flaw or fault of Eva's, it was just a guess from myself as a reader that by sheer luck, proved to be true. Had I not guessed it, I would've been as shocked at it by those who were, who didn't guess. This doesn't happen very often for me, as I usually just try to enjoy the book I'm reading without deep analysing it too early on, but my Jessica Fletcher persona was working overtime and guessed it quickly. That said and despite that, I had a great time in journeying along to find out how that big twist came to be. Eva's writing was more than enough to carry me to that point and I still enjoyed getting there, even though I knew the outcome. It felt like being on the inside of a big secret and I was watching Kingston find out the truth. Seeing how he found out and how he reacted? Worth guessing it early and then some.

Reign of a Billionaire brought everything I know and love about both this series, and Eva Winners. It was dark, it was dramatic, it was full of the raw gore, blood and guttural that we dark romance lovers crave when reading mafia/dark romance books of this nature, and I'm never left short when its one of my must-read, favourite authors telling the story.

Where I have my current favourites within this series, I have a feeling that what is left to come, for the grand finale, will be the best yet. Call it gut instinct.

Kingston, Liana & Eva, what a performance! x

Eva’s writing was incredible! The prologue and description made me want to read the book. This book made me so emotional and had so many twists I could not put it down, I was left in constant suspense and needed to know what happened next.

SPOILER: I wished I liked the book more, I just think this certain trope is not for me (siblings ex trope?).
During the prologue you find out that Kingston and Louisa are in love and made a plan to run away together. The night they are suppose to escape they are waiting on Louisa’s identical twin sister, Liana. But because they waited for her and she never showed, they end up getting caught. They are tortured and Louisa ends up dying in Kingston’s arms. Then eight years later Kingston sees Liana and believes that she is working for her mother and he can’t believe she would do that, and he wants redemption for Louisa.

What bothered me the most was for the majority of the book they both think that she really is Liana (due to memory loss and Kingston thinking Louisa died). So it just felt icky. I’d rather one of them had known the truth the entire time, so it was hard for me to root for the FMC and MMC throughout the book because the entire time you think she really is Liana when in reality she was Louisa. I wished it was revealed way sooner than it was. I also was hoping that this twist was going to happen so I was really focused/ wishing for it to be revealed the entire time. I also would have loved if the epilogue was longer!

I can see why people would love this book though, I just didn’t like that part of it which unfortunately ruined the book for me.

Make sure to check trigger warnings!

- dark romance
- billionaire romance
- slow burn
- enemies to lovers
- mafia

Thank you to the author and Literally Yours PR for the arc.

“I wrote this review for Saucy Reviews on Kinky Korner.
The mystery of what really happened to Kingston Ashford after he was kidnapped at ten years of age has always intrigued me. This is his story, and holy moly, what an amazing one it is, too.

It’s also the story of Liana Volkov, one of Sofia Vokov’s twin daughters. Fortunately, she is nothing like her evil mother. There is an air of mystery around her, though, that keeps you guessing as the story progresses. I am positive readers are meant to predict something important here, but I certainly didn’t anticipate how things would be revealed. I don’t know if Liana is truly crazy in the manner in which she goes about things or superbly trained and highly talented. Either way, she is a high achiever. She is also perfect for Kingston.

Kingston, or The Ghost, is understandably a complex character who has lingering effects from the trauma suffered as a child. Honestly, I admire his ability to be as productive as he is and as firm in his resolve to honour a long-ago promise. This book demonstrates how everything makes sense for them to be together as they are now.

This slow-burn romance between Liana and Kingston might be just that—slow to develop—but their super-hot chemistry creates some very steamy scenes. The banter between the two is outstanding and, at times, hilarious. Plus, the fun throwaway lines are both thought by Liana as well as said by her.

This very dark, intense story is superbly plotted. It takes readers on an emotional journey that is so powerful and impactful that it’s easy to forget it is a fictional tale. I loved all of the different underworld characters from previous books being a part of this story, so many, too. There is non-stop action and drama right from the beginning, making this an exciting and entertaining read.

Eva Winners brings us book four in the interconnected series where she introduces us to our MMC Kingston. If the previous book was anything to go by, moving forward, we definitely know what to expect with Reign of a Billionaire.

If you love a book that packs a punch, well go no further because this book will pull you in right from the beginning, right up to the very end.

You will experience a range of emotions from our MMC Kingston as he works through his pain and rage, but moreso, seeking revenge on those who have wronged him. If there was a character who you could fall in love with, Kingston is definitely your man because he brings everything and more.

As the story progresses, as a reader, our FMC Liana, I wasn’t sure what to make of her character, but once you delve into the story, you get to know her and her purpose, because once you get a feel for her character. Just as you fall in love with Kingston, you will fall in love with Liana, too.

If you love a book with content and trigger warnings that will have you throwing your kindle across the room, second chances, each others first and only, found family and happily ever afters then this book is for you.

Highly recommend both the author and the book.

I received an ARC. Therefore, I am submitting a voluntary review.

▪️ As usual when I read one of Eva's books, I can't find the right words for how incredibly good it was! Eva's mafia world is truly something out of this world and it really captures you from page one! In this book, we finally get to read about our long-awaited Ghost (Kingston) and my goodness, what a journey we get! What he has had to endure and go through is truly something terrible and to STILL come out on top is truly remarkable🖤 As usual, there will be no spoilers here from me, just read this because you will ABSOLUTELY not regret it! You will be hooked right from the first page and will never want to put it down.😘

Kingston's book is the one I have been waiting for. Ghost has drifted in and out of the stories that come before being a pivotal part of Alexei's arc as well as previous rescues and destroyed deals. Kingston has an air of darkness and detachment. I don't know what I expected his love story to be. But this is so much more than I could have imagined. Kingston has so much depth of emotion underneath his blank restraint. He loves deeply and unendingly.

It really is difficult to review this one without giving anything away as there are unexpected twists and turns along the way. If you've read the stories in the series before, you will already know his story hinges on his rescue of Sofia's daughter from the auction. But that is more the middle of his story. There is a lot before and after that give you the whole picture. I will say that Liana is one kick ass FMC and she has a fierceness unlike any heroine I've read before. She and Kingston are a perfectly killer couple together. They really are soul mates united.

I adored this book. My favourite of the Ashford's so far. My best Eva man, Alexei, has quite a role to play in this narrative. And no Eva book is complete without a little Sasha. A perfect standalone tale of darkness, finding love after trauma and general kickassery. Could be read without the series context but I would recommend the interconnected books as this world is addictive and detailed

Amazing!!! I just loved the book. I was clearly not expecting such things, the way the story took turns and I just loved Kingston and Lianna 😉. That's all I am going to put in because if I put more, I might end up revealing everything and I want the readers to have an element of surprise and excitement while reading the book.

Once again, Eva has left me speechless and it is very hard for me to get out of her world because when I start reading one book, I end up reading the whole other books as well. Yes, you read that correctly. I am that obsessed with the world Eva has created and I just love all the characters and her books are very close to my heart.

Okay, so back to Kingston's book. I loved the book. 5 on 5 from me. I was on the edge the whole time. The thing about reading her books is that you can't interpret that this is gonna happen in the end because it might take you a whole different ending and I have always loved that. That also happened to me with Kingston's book. And I loved Lianna's strength and how strong she was. I was so damn excited about Kingston's book and I loved him so much. I loved his relationship with Louisa when she was little and the bond they shared. I loved his relationship with Alexei. And now I can't wait for Royce and Willow's book.🫶

Reign of a Billionaire is book 4 in the Billionaire Kings series. This book follows Kingston and Liana's story. As always, I fall in love with the main characters as well as the side characters (the good ones).

Kingston Ashford, AKA Ghost, is one of the Ashford siblings. His character was first introduce in Alexei and Aurora's book. What he endured in the past was horrible! I am glad that he was saved.

Liana Volkov is one of Sofia Volkov's daughter. Her past is no walk in the park either with a mother like Sofia.

One of the plot in this book, I had a feeling early on. The easter eggs that were in this book are so intriguing and I can't wait to read the next books.
