Rate this book
Colorful Colorado—The Centennial State. Majestic mountains, high plains, and monsters!

Bigfoot has been seen all over the state from the high mountains to rural ranches and farms. Residents have also reported encounters with dogmen, skinwalkers, and other strange humanoids.

Legends also abound from stories of Tommyknockers to a weird vampire tale. Even stranger, there are reports of living dinosaurs in Colorado from winged giants to miniature T-Rexes.

Gather around and dive in as we explore Monsters of the Centennial State.

This isn't quite as good as Weatherly's books on Florida and Alaska, but that's not all his fault: He just doesn't have as much cryptid lore to work with in Colorado. He mostly treads well-known ground on Bigfoot and various mountain critters. The best section is on the "river dinosaurs" (there are many names), upright reptiles like small dinosaurs. I'd read of them before, but Weatherly uncovers many more accounts than I knew existed. Is there something to them? Decide for yourself after reading this well-written book.

Another fun American Monsters book from Weatherly. This volume doesn't have quite as much meat in it as some do, but that isn't about Weatherly; some states just have more reports than others.

As expected there are Bigfoot stories, but also modern dinosaurs, dogmen, deer people, tommyknockers, and more. Super fun for the monster fan.
