For six years, I've had one priority. Just one. Keep my sister alive.
Until Ty Logan. One bizarre gas station incident leads us to Dawley, Colorado, and to the fated mate who means to claim me. There's no escaping his forest-green stare or the way he offers me the things I've always secretly wanted.
I’m desperate to stay. My sister is itching to leave. I can only have one priority here. That can’t be Ty. When a threat I barely dodged comes hard and fast for the sister I swore to protect, there’s only one person I trust to help me. Ty.
Do I have a future with Ty, the mate I never saw coming? Or will I lose my beloved sister?
Due to adult themes, language, violence, and steamy scenes, this book is recommended for 18+.
The first half of this book is all about Martha protecting Clara and focusing her whole existence on her and it’s barely revealed why. It’s a complete waste because it’s just this back and forth between her and Ty that has zero build up (even the first chapter that set that up was weird, abrupt and just meh). I skimmed the whole second half because I needed something to finally happen that wasn’t just the same back and forth that barely kept my focus in the first half. Maybe it’s time to stop reading this series because I’ve just not been that into them anymore.
This story comes out of nowhere, the only context is that it’s with Regan and Jackson’s pack. Neither Ty nor Martha have had a previous presence in the series and the way the author writes in this book makes it particularly disconnected. Ty seems arrogant and pushy, Martha appears to be a controlling sister with a martyr complex. Ad Clara looks like a lazy airhead with no consideration for her sister. It was difficult to connect emotionally with the characters in the same way I have through all the other books. Anyway, see what you think.
Really enjoyed Martha and Ty’s story. Martha and her sister hadn’t really settled properly anywhere after having to move around a lot after their own pack was killed. Ty knew Martha was his fated mate and was determined she would realise the same an tried to give her time and space she needed to realise she didn’t need to put her life on hold for her sister to be happy. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait for the next one as I love all of Eve’s books.
It was alright, just not four stars. After the books that came before (and the very long wait) I just wasn’t as invested in these two. They hadn’t been in previous stories and I didn’t love them. Looks like we’ll be seeing them again, though, so maybe I’ll grow to love them too.
We met the family at the fourth book and I had no recollection of them. I was sure it was a new pack. The MC was ok, he was far more patient than he should. She had major trust issues and now we will have her sister for the next book.
Another good book what is going to happen to Clair and her sister will the alpha and mate of Claire sister be able to stop the Alpha from Claire old pack?? Will they survive? And why did foUr run??
Martha is such a relatable character. Never thinking of herself and always the needs of others. Such luna material if I had ever seen. Ty is wooof hot, and yeah, I'd stare at his bum and chest, too. Lol
Short but sweet. Love stories are great. I love a book i can finish quickly but that has enough drama that keeps me interested. This fill that amd more.
