I wasn’t paying attention to my progress bar and was completely surprised and bummed when the book ended. It had my full attention. I loved it! I am fasting from secular reading (everything on booktok is smut smut smut now). With books like these I don’t even miss it. Thank you Lord. You are so good. And thank you for your faithful and obedient servants. Keep writing ladies. You are more impactful than you know.
Important Disclaimer: If you are a Christian grappling with sexual sin, this book may not be suitable for you. While the content includes a few scenes, they are not depicted in graphic detail. Proceed with caution.
This was my first go into a dark book, and I have to say, it stirred quite a few emotions in me. The part that truly unsettled me involved the mother and her child. As a mother of many myself, I found it hard to envision any positive outcome in that scenario, making it all the more impactful. While it was just a small segment of the book, it offered a glimpse into the darker aspects of their and our world.
Despite some characters not being especially lovable, I found the group left standing at the end to be intriguing. I'm eagerly anticipating what comes next in the sequels; I can't wait to see how they evolve and where their journeys take them. I feel like there’s a lot of growth ahead for them, and while I do wish the story had touched on some theological themes more deeply, I still think it was an excellent read. I’m definitely looking forward to getting my hands on the next books!
I just finished Decipis, and I have to say—it was an incredible read. From the very beginning, I was pulled into the story. The characters were so real, and the emotional depth had me fully invested. I found myself thinking about the themes long after I closed the book.
What stood out the most to me was how the book tackled deception and spiritual warfare. It wasn’t just a story—it felt like a wake-up call. The way Valicity Elaine portrayed the battle between light and darkness was powerful, and it made me reflect on my own faith and the importance of staying grounded in truth.
I also really appreciated the pacing and writing style. It flowed so well, and even in the heavier moments, the message of hope and redemption came through clearly.
If you’re looking for a Christian fiction novel that goes deep and leaves you changed, Decipis is definitely worth reading. I loved it and would absolutely recommend it.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH THIS BOOK IF SEX SCENES ARE A TRIGGER FOR YOU. I was looking for a fictional Christian book that was fun but still encompassed the beauty of God. This wasn’t it. Yes, it talks about God but the main focus is still way too heavily centered around the non Christian characters and their sin, not on Mya’s relationship with God. Don’t get me wrong, I love an authentic book that speaks on real struggles that we face, but there’s a way to make a book realistic without including just how many sex scenes, sexual references, and sinful details that this book included. I almost feel like there should’ve been a trigger warning just because of how many references there were to the very thing most of us are trying to avoid reading about when we purposely pick up a book advertised as Christian. I really tried to give this book a chance but after 60% of the way through, I was way too triggered and upset. I hope this author had good intentions to bring the story back around but I couldn’t finish the book to find out. I just couldn’t get past how much I was reading about sin compared to how little I was reading about God. Also, when God is mentioned, it feels very dry and impersonal. It doesn’t feel like you’re reading God come to life in this story. I hope this helps anyone that struggles with scenes like this so that you can make an informed decision on this book.
Reading about a possible apocalypse happening is never easy but reading it as a Christian I think makes it a bit harder to grasp because you’d happen that people would do what’s right and good but that isn’t always the case. This book was a real treat to read in terms of storytelling and characters. I couldn’t help but feel for Mia and Caesar and the rest as this is something that’s happening far out of their control. They have no idea where their parents are and their school has turned into a blood bath with the students turning on one another in the face of not having enough food or water. I can’t believe that they had to run away so that they wouldn’t die and their teacher was the sacrificial lamb to help them make it. I’m hoping that they’re able to not only find God during this time but also find their family and that they’re safe.

TROPES: - A God-Glorifying & Clean Read - Love Triangle - Childhood Best Friend - Second Chance - College Romance - Apocalyptic Setting
Another work to add to my list of my favorite Christian fiction books! I really loved the diversity of the characters included, such as Adrian (is albino) and Mya/Jupiter (Christians who dress in a gothic fashion style). In addition, I enjoyed the action-packed storyline and the Love Triangle aspect (#teammya), it always kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat! Can’t wait for the release of the second book 🖤
I really enjoyed this book. Typically if the book isn't a full on love story I don't tend to gravitate towards it as much but the author did such a beautiful job at capturing the emotion of the characters as they faced the harsh truth of their reality, with that being said I am taking a brief break from this series to read something more mushy LOL! But I am also excited to pull book 2 off of my shelf.
Wow, this is my first Christian romance books but it won’t be my last, I’ve read Christian books and loved them being a Christian but I didn’t Christian romance books existed until I came across a few books on TikTok and decided to start with this one. I highly recommend this book. Christian romance is my newest favorite genre 💕💕
I loved this book. The apocalyptic approach really opens you up to see a world that has gone into chaos and what it would be like as a Christian navigating that. I really hope Mya and her friends are able to all survive and get the chance to come to God.
I’m just genuinely convinced she wouldn’t be able to write a bad book if someone paid her a ridiculous amount of money to. Her romance novels? Works of art. Page -almost rippers from the quickness of which I’m turning them- for sure. I genuinely have never liked the apocalypse/end of world themes. I find them boring. So incredibly boring. And honestly depressing. But this one? I need to start Exodus TONIGHT. I need to know who wins. I’m hoping Adri. The character development? Perfection. And I always love me a gothic/grungy Lover of Christ. Because that’s me. I truly felt like I could be her. She remains my favorite Christian author I need more books. 😂
