He can't wait to get off the island. She can't wait to get there....

Good riddance, summer tourists. Although I’d love to celebrate their departure, I’m too busy planning the Harvest Fest at Applehill Farm while I wait for the new owner—an island newcomer—to arrive and take over. I’ll make sure she understands the grass isn’t greener on Greensea. Reasons? One: Tourists. Two: Rain. Three: Eternal darkness. Four: Slow drivers. Being pleasant to this newcomer while I hand over the reins as quickly as possible will be like ripping off a piece of duct tape from my hairy leg. Let’s get it over and done...
Sylviane It’s Friday the 13th, a full moon, Mercury is in retrograde—and it’s time for my luck to change. Farewell, evil stepfamily. Hello, new opportunities and adventures! After a cross country journey of ten days and 2,867 miles, I’m boarding a ferry to dreamy Greensea Island, headed to my late Uncle Don’s apple orchard to find my destiny and search for my true happily ever after. Who will I meet? Will this be the place of my dreams?
Welcome back to Greensea Island—where romance is what ferry tales are made of!
Julie Farley loves writing books filled with big families, lots of heart, and plenty of laughs. She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and four amazing kids. Julie has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and a graduate degree from DePaul University. When she’s not busy with her family or writing books, you’ll find her watching reality TV…of any sort!
What a beautiful book! My local bookstore told me it was a really good, so I decided to pick it up and I was hooked. I think that books like this are just so precious, and I loved everything about it. From the newspaper to the little cozy mystery books, this book was amazballs inside and out.
This book was so cute! Growing up on the real Greensea island felt like all my little small town secrets were exposed ;) I’m so happy for people to read this book set on the little island that I am so lucky to have grown up on. Yes, we really had a neighborhood peacock, and the town just keeps adding roundabouts. I miss the Harvest Fest so much and even won the pie contest when I was in middle school. I’ve snuck into the night twice now for senior paint night and it’s my favorite tradition that started in the 50s! I also grew up watching Gilmore girls (and while I used to be a Dean girl, then Logan, I’m now firmly a Jess girl). Julie Farley is such a great author and I hope everyone who finds this book feels all the love us islanders have for Greensea ❤️
I was so excited to start the second book! I bought my books autographed at a small independent bookstore on a visit to Poulsbo. I usually read on Libby but I think I’ll wait for my next trip up north to get the third one as a signed copy too! I liked Sylviane and her story. I’m really glad she got her happily ever after. I’m glad we saw Jac and Johnny but wish they were in it a bit more. Josh was so sweet. I loved how he always helped everyone. Her uncle’s story was amazing. I’m still sad Sylviane didn’t get to know him or her mom. I guessed who GG was and I can’t wait to see what gets published next.

3.75 stars. I enjoyed book 2 of the ferry tale series probably more than book 1! Julie Farley gave me the best escapist romcom during a season when light reading was hitting home. The ending felt a bit rushed and wrapped up in a pretty bow, but I expected that. It was only disappointing because I wanted more mapmaker and magician scenes! Book 3 is already out so I will be going out to my indie to buy asap!
Pick this up if you like light, non-steamy romance novels with scenic settings in the Pacific NW 🌲
Likeable main characters and a decent story. I like the Sherman family, but not the DuPonts. I don’t like the GG intervals, and I don’t like the side character Tippy, at all. So this book was a mixed bag for me.
ETA: since Tippy is the romantic lead in the next book I guess I won’t be reading any more of these.
SO good!!! I'm floored that this book isn't getting more attention. This romantic comedy is comparable to Sophie Cousens and Abby Jimenez. Set in the PNW, this book is so swoony. Can't wait for Book 3 (already on order with Liberty Books!).
This is such a cute series! I love the small town/ island setting. This book was an atypical opposites attract- the one who wants to leave and the one who is happy to have finally found her place. Looking forward to the next book!
Greensea Island feels like going home, I love this small town series that has cute kisses and a local gossip paper that is fun to read. This one was the perfect intro to fall, can’t wait for #3!
