Anna is everything to Cameron, even if it’s always been a secret.
Cameron has only ever been in love with one woman, his twin sisters’ best friend, a woman he shouldn’t want and can never have. He’s a master at pretending he only sees her as family, he even has himself convinced. Almost. Not really, but he’s pretending.
Anna has lived her whole life assuming she’s unlovable. Her parents made her feel like a burden, their home life filled with arguments and disappointment. Her best friends have always treated her like family, but she knew she never really was, no matter how much she wanted to be. No matter how much she loved their brother.
Ten years ago, Anna suggested a summer fling with Cameron, believing that was all she could ever have with him. Cameron hoped that summer would finally bring them together. In the end, Anna moved to Alberta and Cameron was left with a broken heart.
But now, Anna’s back and willing to help Cameron with his new business. They tried to stay professional and be friends, but they can’t deny their feelings any longer. Anna is scared of losing him and her found family, she doesn't know if she should stay and risk breaking his heart again. Cameron knows they are meant to be together, he just needs her to see that she’s worthy of love and happiness before she runs away again.
Just for the Summer is a friends-to-lovers, sister’s best friend, second chance, steamy romance. It’s full of love, heart, found family, and spice.
I absolutely loved this book! If I could have given 10 stars, I would have!
Cameron & Anna are both amazing characters. The book is written in both of their point of views, they took me through their experiences with romance, love, heartbreak, heart mending, passion, lust, relationships, self-worth, and self-esteem.
I didn't want to put the book down from chapter 1. If I wasn't reading, I was thinking about both characters and wondering how their stories would end.
I also enjoyed being part of the continued story of Tate & Harper from the 1st book; Just Friends With a Prince.
Just for the Summer is a heartwarming story. It is tender and with a found family feel but also tugs at the heartstrings and has its emotional moments.
Simply beautiful. I loved every moment of this book and could not put it down.
4.75⭐️ I can’t even express the hold these characters had on me. Normally, second chance is not my top choice. But this story was PERFECT and totally erased all thoughts I had against it previously!
Anna’s parents spent her whole life making her feel unlovable. Her best friend’s family took her in, but it was never enough to completely erase the damage. Cameron has loved Anna his whole life. But since Anna was his sister’s best friend, he kept it to himself so she would never lose her found family. Before college, Anna proposed a summer fling. Deep down they know it’s a terrible idea, but they also think it’s all they’ll ever have. 10 years later Anna is back, and it’s a chance Cameron isn’t willing to lose.
Cameron loves so fiercely. Even if he never says it, his actions speak so loud. I was happy to see the secrets of their feelings and miscommunications were quickly handled. There was still a lot of healing and things to overcome, and I loved they way they handled it all together. It was also so fun to see Tate and Harper’s story continue to play out! What’s not to love about a royal wedding?
This made me even more excited to continue the series!
Just For the Summer by Becky Tzag unfolds a heartfelt tale where Anna holds a special place in Cameron's heart, even if it's a secret that has been hidden for far too long.
Cameron's love has always been reserved for one woman—Anna, his twin sisters' best friend. Forbidden by unspoken rules, Cameron has mastered the art of pretending that his feelings for Anna are purely familial. However, the facade is starting to crumble, and he can no longer deny the truth.
Anna, burdened by a life that made her feel unlovable, has cherished her deep connection with Cameron for years. Ten years ago, they ventured into a summer fling, but life led them down separate paths. Now, reunited and with Cameron starting a new business, the old feelings resurface.
As they attempt to stay professional and be friends, the undeniable chemistry between them takes center stage. Anna, afraid of losing the newfound connection, questions whether she should risk staying and potentially breaking Cameron's heart again. Cameron, convinced that they are meant to be, is determined to show Anna that she deserves love and happiness.
Just For the Summer is a friends-to-lovers, sister's best friend, second chance, steamy romance. The story is brimming with love, heart, the warmth of found family, and a touch of spice. The author weaves a tale that explores the complexities of love, friendship, and second chances, promising a journey full of emotion and passion.
I loved this so much more than I could ever have imagined! The chemistry between Anna and Cameron was palpable, and I loved his silly little nicknames for her. Their relationship evolved over the book, from awkward and unsure, to friends, to steamy, at a pace that felt reasonable and had me absolutely invested in them and this little world. I can absolutely see why these books are described as a little "Hallmarky", with the majority of the story taking place either in a small town or at a small cottage retreat by a countryside lake, and a small portion of the book focusing on a family member's wedding taking place in a far-away locale. Make no mistake though, this book has plenty of steam AND spice! Several open-door scenes grace the pages, and after reading the ebook, this is one shelf trophy I'll need to add to my collection. I'll also need to pick up the others in the series; I started with this one for the summer vibes, but now I'm invested in the whole family and need to read each of their books! That being said, these all can work as standalones!
I might love this one even more than the first. Pretty sure this entire series is going to have me in a chokehold.
I absolutely adored how sure Cam was of his love for Anna and how patient he was while she figured things out and battled her demons. He was unflinching in his support of her and I just ate it up!
And when caveman Cam came out? **fans self**
Also, the family/friends/found family tropes here were just all so heartwarming.
Lastly, Hale's my guy and I'm so excited for his story next!
I love this series. Loved this book. Best friend's brother, brief fling ten years earlier, she leaves to go across the country, returns and -- Cam and Anna burn up the sheets, the kindle/pages and well, Becky has a way of turning the plumbing breaking and making it super hot. She is also fantastic at scenes with parental issues/angst and, seriously, she's a fantastic writer of characters who are REAL and you want to know in real life.
Optional trigger warnings that included spoilers at the beginning of the book. While I enjoyed parts of the book and normally I love things that aren't super heavy on the reality because sometimes I read for a break from that, this book felt a little too fairy tale for me. I am not really a "one true love"/"fated mates" kind of person, and the story felt rushed as a result. HOWEVER, if you are looking for fairytale with a societally normal HEA, this book would scratch that itch.
I don’t always love second chance romance because there’s usually a lot of hurt from the past that heals up a little too perfectly but this one wasn’t like that at all! I loved how these characters worked through so much past hurts and issues in their present! The character development for FMC was on point and I loved how she went from an insecure, somewhat immature woman to a very well adjusted, confident partner! And Cam was just the best cinnamon roll ever! We all need a little Cam in our lives! I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for Hale’s love story!
Cam and that green-eyed blondie aka annie are sooooo wild!!! Annie's attitude towards her parents is a lil cringey but I LET IT SLIDE in favor of juicy details!! Can't wait for the rest !!!
