A single mom in hiding and the bodyguard roommate she can’t resist
Mia Hiding out in the Scottish Highlands, I’ve fled my old life. I need a home for my little daughter, a job, and the eyeful of my roommate naked in the shower has me thinking I might need a hot Scottish boyfriend, too.
But the gorgeous bodyguard only offers fun nights between the sheets. While he’s preoccupied worshipping my thick thighs and claiming he doesn’t want commitment, I’m meant to be busy on the dating scene. For longterm, he’s telling me to look elsewhere, but what if it’s him I fall for?
Valentine My new roomie is a wet dream come true. With her kind personality and curves for days, I can’t keep my mind off her. A welcome distraction from the broken relationship with my brother and the ex-fiancée who won’t leave me alone. Except Mia’s looking for more than I can offer. I had my fingers burned by love and won’t ever go there again. Only when people come looking for her do I realise just how easily she could be taken from me. -- Take Her from You features a plus-sized single mom, her Scottish roommate with golden retriever energy, and an intimate toy she creates using him as a template. This swoony, friends-to-everything, steamy read is a standalone in the McRae Bodyguards series and set in the gorgeous Scottish Highlands.

From an early age, Jolie lived in a fantasy world and is never happier than when plot dreaming. Jolie loves her heroes to be one-woman guys. Whether they are a huge Highlander, a touch starved earl, or a brooding pilot, they will adore their loved one until the end of time.

Totally Addictive, I never wanted it to end! I laughed, I swooned and wished I was in Mia’s place a lot! Cause damn Valentine is something else.
Jo just keeps finding ways to spice each book up more and more 😍
I loved how we got more from the McRae families. I loved the drama, the Insta lust ❤️ there are so MANY AMAZING scenes/chapters, such fab banter, and they pull on your heart strings x
I have been looking forward to these two since the series began and they did not dissapoint. I love Valentine and his broodiness and how he feels for Mia. I love Mia and how she grows to love herself and calls people on their bs. The spice in this *woah* I swesr Jolie steps it up each time and I'm here for it. The writing was 5 stars as usual and it's really hard to put a Jolie Vines book down once tou start it. I love this world and I truly wish I could live there.
I always find Jolie Vines books entertaining. I think this was my favourite so far from this series. Mia and Valentine seemed to have instant chemistry than resulted in some pretty hot scenes. Quick read with the HEA I was looking for.
I loved every moment of this emotional, tense, and beautiful roller coaster. There was action, suspense, smexy times, and family drama; the story absolutely grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. I read it in one night, finishing up around 2am, and I will not regret it in the morning. Another absolute hit by Mrs. Vines, and I cannot wait for Jax’s story!
Mia is hiding out with her daughter in the Scottish Highlands, escaping from ther daughters deceased fathers family. He had a wife and two sons prior to fathering her child. They took her in but didn't have the best reasons for doing so. Valentine, is a bodyguard she meets upon the move.
I don’t necessarily dislike the guy on the cover but I would describe his hair color as dishwater or dirty blond. Val’s hair is described more than once as being extremely dark, maybe even black. I’m shallow enough to let this discrepancy bug me. He would probably better represent Ben, although I don’t recall the length of Ben’s hair.
Valentine: Then I hung up and took Mia to bed. ...I rose before Tobi could know where I’d slept. I find this a little confusing as Val had been sleeping in Mia’s bed as he recuperated from his injury. I think Mia slept in Tobi’s room. Where was Valentine supposed to have slept if Mia’s bed was off limits? Tobi knew he was staying at their house.
Re: Meeting with lawyers and Mia's ex’s family: Raphael would stay with the aircraft, giving us a fast getaway should we need it. Then they’re at the hotel conference room: I trusted Ben and Raphael to watch over her... Is Raphael in two places at once?
Still in conference room: Mia’s ex’s wife speaking of Tobi: But you see how much she missed her family? Same woman earlier in the meeting: "October (Tobi) I’ve missed you. Come here for a hug.” Tobi hid behind her ma. ... Mia took a seat, and Tobi curled on her lap, ignoring the woman’s demands. Where does this woman get off saying Tobi missed them? There are several witnesses to Tobi’s rejection. OTOH, Tobi seemed eager to see Greg when Mia had them hiding in her car trying to escape his notice.
So despite my nitpicking (it’s what I do) I liked this story a lot. Mia and Val’s first encounter was certainly unique. I enjoyed their immediate mutual attraction and that they didn’t try to resist it. I did find both Val and Kelly’s clinging to feelings for five years a bit unbelievable but to each his/her own. Kelly messaged Ben at least once asking him to have Val contact her. Why didn’t she just ask Ben her question? That or just believe what his mother told her.
This book is so 🌶️ It already starts in chapter one. OK, actually in the epilog of book 2, but the scene gets more or less a POV change in this book. And with this scene, Mia gets her nickname "little spy" 😁
I loved Mia and Valentine so much. Not only because Valentine has a very very filthy 👄 and thoughts. They just fit so perfectly together 🩷 I felt sorry for Valentine because of his ex-girlfriend. I hate this b!tch!!! 🤬 All the pain she caught him 😞
Again this book is full of action. What happened in Spain with Leo, WOW. Leo is the Rockstar from "Fallen Snow". He is the reason why Gordain started the bodyguard service. So he can protect him and his daughter. And it's so needed. And little Finn, Leo's 6-year-old son, he is so scared 😭
Mia is new on the estate because she is on the run. So many people run to the McRae estate 😁 And yes, everyone will get support there 🩷 Not only does Mia get support from Valentine, no she gets it from everyone. Her new boss Daisy and all the other girls. The girls' chat group talks again a lot about 🌶️ things. The results of this one talk... Ohhhhh 🙈 I just say, Mia is getting a very special 🍆 toy... Is there a possibility to get one of these for other girls too? Just asking for a friend... 😎
Oh, and Tobi 😍 She is such a cute girl. I loved how she and Valentine acted together. He loves this girl. And her mom, but because of this b!tch of an ex, he hasn't seen it for a long time 🙄 Men. But what he immediately knew is that he loves her 🍈🍈 😉 The chemistry is extreme, otherwise, the book wouldn't be that 🌶️
As I said the book is so 🌶️. Book 1 was 🌶️, book 2 was 🌶️er, now book 3... I'm a little scared of what will happen in book 4 😱 Unfortunately, we all have to wait til next year for Raphael and his princes 😭
Take Her from You is a novel that truly touched my heart. The way Vines intricately explores the complexities of relationships and human emotions resonated deeply with me, drawing me into a world where every character felt like a mirror reflecting aspects of my own experiences.
Vines' characters are not just words on a page; they are friends I laughed with, cried with, and rooted for throughout the story. Their authenticity and depth made me feel like I was part of their journey, experiencing their joys and sorrows as if they were my own.
The plot twists in Take Her from You were like a rollercoaster ride of emotions, keeping me on the edge of my seat with each unexpected turn. I found myself eagerly anticipating what would happen next, unable to put the book down until I reached the satisfying conclusion.
After finishing the novel, I found myself reflecting on its themes of love, loss, and resilience long into the night. Take Her from You left a lasting impression on me, reminding me of the power of storytelling to evoke deep emotions and provoke introspection.
In my opinion, Take Her from You is not just a book; it's an experience that touched my soul and left me with a renewed appreciation for the beauty and complexity of human relationships. Jolie Vines has crafted a masterpiece that I will cherish and recommend to anyone seeking a heartfelt and thought-provoking read.
Oh my! Where to even start? This book is so good, I don't even have the words. Honestly there hasn't been a book by Jolie that I haven't loved but this one just hits so perfectly. There is so much history and pain for both main characters but their immediate connection and their personalities make you root for them from the beginning. Jolie writes in such a way that you feel like you know these people and they are a part of your world. You feel their highs and their lows and laugh out loud at their antics.
Mia is a curvy single mom running from a past and just trying to make a good life for her daughter. Her first impression of Val is so hot, you just can't wait for them to get together. Mia is sweet, inexperienced and so dang patient.
Val is emotionally running from his past and any future that could hurt him. He's Bens brother so if you've read the other McRae Bodyguard series books you already have met Val. He's a super hot bodyguard who feels an immediate need to protect Mia and Tobi. Val is seriously the type of man anyone would want. He's sweet, hot, kind, protective, funny, and a little bossy.
This is a must read (you don't have to read the first two in the series but honestly you're missing out if you don't)! I would give this book more than five stars if I could.
It's hard to find anything I don't like about Jolie Vines books... I mean complete auto-buy author for me, love the stories, love the characters, everything. With that being said, the first two McRae Bodyguards were satisfying and enjoyable but not overwhelmingly incredible for me. Nothing against the author or her writing at all - I think I just had a hard time connecting to the characters.
Another caveat - playboy heroes with golden retriever energy are NOT my thing. Give me all the broody, bossy, grouchy alpha heroes and you can have your playful ones. I was highly expecting to fall head over heels for Jackson in book 2, and really had no interest in falling for Valentine in book 3.
I AM EATING MY WORDS.
Valentine has rocketed to the top of my favorites list of books by this author. I loved everything about this book. SO MUCH. Valentine and Mia were so flirty and fun and sexy (I mean, just read the first line of the book and you'll know.. ha ha). I loved their story. I loved the way they fell into a romance neither was expecting. I love how their (incredibly) sexy times morphed into so much more without them even thinking about it.
This book made me laugh and made me swoon and turned me on and made me cry. The instant protectiveness that Valentine showed for Mia and her little girl... OMG I was there for it all.
Every single time I read a book by Jolie Vines I think, her new male lead cannot possibly top the last one. Then BAM! She does it again. I wanted Valentine's story from our first meeting in his brother's book. His name says it all, he is definitely swoon worthy, and he did not disappoint. A man running from his past who has sworn off all relationships and family, has possibly met the ones who can change his mind. Will he or won't he? Meet Mia, a sweet, beautiful, curvy, hardworking lass. She's running from her past and trying to make a new life for her and her cute daughter Tobi. Her confidence in herself as a person, a partner, and a mother grow in this book and it is exquisite to watch. Val unapologetically shows Mia and Tobi what it is to be protected and cared for. Team McRae also rounds out this book with the women's group chat and some aerial support when needed. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention the kit! My imagination has gone wild with that one! Full disclosure I read an ARC but this book comes with my highest recommendation. Run don't walk to get this book now you will be glad you did. If you haven't read her other books dive right in. You won't be able to stop yourself from reading every last one and anticipating the next one.
This book seemed a little lighter than some of Jolie Vines’ other books. I loved the insta lust with a slow burn. I loved the mysteries that slowly came to light. Valentine was a very dynamic character and Mia was his perfect match.
Valentine had a lot of baggage he’d never dealt with at the beginning of this book. It was interesting reading his feelings since I’d already read Ben’s from his perspective in the first book in this series. Despite hanging onto his hurt, Valentine hid behind sarcasm and jokes. He was a character that was happy on the surface but hid his true feelings and it was interesting to see how that disappeared with Mia and Tobi.
I loved Mia’s character arc. She started so timid and unsure, but ended up asking for what she deserved. I loved the way she told Valentine she deserved all of him in a way that wasn’t mean or judgmental. I loved how she stood up to herself with Tobi’s family. She was a great lead and an amazing single mother.
This was an exciting book. There was always something going on and I loved unraveling the mystery of Mia’s past. I love how interconnected all of Jolie Vines’ series are because she always has some great cameos of past characters.
Take Her from You is the third book in the McRae Bodyguards series. This is the first book from this series I have read but definitely not the first by the author. I will be going back to read the previous books in the series because I loved this one so much. The story takes the reader once again to the Scottish Highlands and finds Mia and Valentine creating a lot of sleepless nights. Mia and her daughter Tobi are hiding out from her ex and family. She has to work so she gets a job cleaning houses with Daisy, who is Valentine's sister. But it gets even more complex as Mia, Tobi and Valentine ends up sharing a bunkhouse together where there is a super hot and passionate night. Do either of them want to have something more? Val is down on all relationships after being burned badly with a previous relationship, like who can't empathize on that one. Mia may have to flee at any moment if she is discovered. Soon it becomes clear that they have a connection that is not just physical, even though that is volcano hot, and it is going to take some work to get their HEA.....but they do get there in the end leaving you wanting more.
What can I say about Valentine? First - who else did the 'bird test' on their partner after reading this, it cannot have been just me!? This man is just divine, and this book is certainly no slow burn, the attraction is instant and fiery. This book is great for the ego of us curvy girls - he worships every inch of her.
There is of course a fabulous sense of family, cameo's from old favourites and fantastic humour. Valentine just oozes confidence, right up until old wounds resurface, and he is a fabulous change from the Alphaholes I have been reading lately.
Mia is a strong resilient mother, who is fighting for the best interests of her child, and discovering who she is as a woman all at once. Watching her find her self confidence with the support of Valentine is wonderful, and the moments when they are becoming a family? They just make your ovaries glow!
I don't want to spoil anything but there are scenes where you are watching Mia own her past trauma and get the recognition she deserves - you just want to punch a fist into the air and cheer with her!
Jolie's work is always fabulous, But the spoiler at the end?!?! cannot wait for the next instalment.
Jolie Vines NEVER disappoints on any of her books! You MUST read this series!!!
This book is the third in the McRae Bodyguards series and although all three are great I would have to say that THIS ONE is my favorite.!!!!! Why, you ask?
1. I love the description of Valentine! And bonus points because his description matches the book cover! 2. I REALLY REALLY like Mia and Tobi! Mia is my kinda gal. She is hardworking, independent and resourceful. Tobi (which is such a freaking adorable way to shorten her full name) is a funny and adorably smart little girl, she has a few fears but does not seem prone to tantrums. Her mom has raised her right! 3. Daisy and the rest of the "TEAM" are beloved characters from all of Jolie's books! 4. The story line had me going in a few directions as to who was Tobi's dad, and how the other characters on her dad's side connected with the story. I was so intrigued my LIFE got put on hold so I could keep turning the pages. 4. The excitement of Leo and what happens on tour. Details are excellent!!
Thank you Jolie Vines for your imagination and words!! PS: totally hysterical regarding the special "kit" that Mia had help with.
This book is soooo good! It is the third book in the McRae bodyguard series and it follows Valentine and Mia. This is a standalone book but I highly recommend reading the first two books in the series.
Ok where to begin on this book. Mia is a single mom who has been dealt with a hard hand and she is running from a past to make a good living for her child. Val is the bodyguard who has been tasked to keep her and her daughter safe. Val too is running from a difficult past that has made it hard for him to want to fall in love again. He is very protective of Mia and her child from the get go. He is kind, sweet, and hot…which is a great combination. Val and Mia have an instant connection and attraction, which makes you instantly root for them.
On a side note…Jolie is one of the few writers that knows how to write about a curvy/plus size character. Her writing doesn’t over compensate the character by saying even though she is curvy she has a great personality or pretty face but normalizes a curvy figure (if that makes sense which it might not).
Highly recommend giving this book and the series a try!
Jolie's books always feel like coming home. I get to check in on all my friends and immerse myself once again in the beautiful Scottish landscape.
💛 Single Mom 💛 Bodyguard 💛 Scottish Romance 💛 Instalust 💛 “Friends to Everything”
This book follows Mia, a single mom to a 4 year old daughter named Tobi. She is hiding out in the Scottish Highlands, starting a new job, all trying to create a safe place for her and her daughter. What she didn't account for was an eyeful of her new roommate in the shower, making her think maybe she needs a Scottish boyfriend too 😏
Enter the roomie, Valentine! A Scottish bodyguard looking for a good time and nothing more. After being ripped apart by his ex, he has sworn off love. However when Mia comes barrel rolling into his life with a little one in tow, needing protection from people in her past, all bets are off.
Valentine was the biggest flirt on the planet. The downright hilariously sexy things that came out of his mouth had my jaw on the floor and cackling all at the same time. He was such an inherently protective guy...while also being a loveable idiot 😅. The perfect combo if you ask me.
I really liked watching Mia grow and become more open in this. She was very timid and scared in the beginning obviously because she was on the run, but watching her stand up for herself and fight for her child in the end was really lovely to see.
Overall this was just fun! The banter was on point, the story moved quickly, and it was just so effortlessly sexy. A very light and easy read...for the most part. It's a Jolie book so someone has to almost die at least once and give you a heart attack. But other than THAT 😅, again fun!
I'm so excited for Raphael's book next! The man is going to be bodyguarding an honest to god princess...and that sounds like it could get dramatic 👀. I can't wait! 🤗
👩👧Great action & suspense backdrop the raging steam of the romance🙈 💦
4.5🌟stars Yes, I love a struggling single parent finding romance and this story hit the spot in multiple ways. Female lead Mia is a determined mother bear on the run, her daughter Toby is cute as a button and male lead Valentine is a tree trunk of a Scottish hulk with protective instincts that go into the stratosphere. The romance is steamy from their first glimpse of each other, but what had me really riveted me were the suspense of Mia's precarious relationship with her daughter's father's controlling family and the action sequences. Fast cars, helicopters, riots and rumbles in the street: Jolie Vines got my heart pounding.
This turned out to be a rollicking adventure with a great close. If, like me, you've read Jolie Vines' work before, you won't be disappointed. If you are new to her work, note that the romance is a potent mix of emotion and heat.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.
Woohoo the next instalment of the McRae bodyguards is here!!!
Valentines and Mia do not disappoint. From the tiny teasers we got from book two (which you do t have to read before this but you should anyway) I knew the chemistry was going to be sizzling with this couple from the outset and indeed it was.
Mia is certainly a strong FMC and I loved her supportiveness of Valentine as well as calling him on his BS when he needed to stand up. I really enjoyed their dynamic.
As usual Jolie balances a packed full plot with lots of twists and turns with super character development and some super spicy scenes - there were 2 things I’ve never read in a book before in this and at this point I’m an experienced spicy reader so that was a great surprise!!
I really enjoyed seeing more of the bodyguard service working together in this one, and seeing them gel as a team and become a solid friendship group.
It’s also great to get snippets of all the other families on the estate and little cameos of characters from previous books.
4⭐️ - I knew Valentine was gonna be my favorite and he and Mia totally delivered. Love this single mom and her teddy bear. This man is so broken but gets his happy ending.
Valentine has sworn off relationships since his long time girlfriend confessed feelings for his brother. Flash forward several years and he is working with his brother, strained relationship and all. When a gorgeous curvy woman ends up as his temporary roommate, he’s tempted to break his rules. Having a quick mutually beneficial relationship, he’s hopeful where this might lead considering she isn’t looking for permanent either. Of course, until she changes her mind and they agree to be friends.
Mia didn’t plan to cal for Valentine, but his heart and his kindness won her over, especially seeing him with her daughter and the other kids around the estate. When he is injured on the job, she offers to help nurse him back to health, all the while knowing she is falling deeper and deeper in love with this man.
Super cute, I loved these two, their chemistry was wild and the personalities were perfect. Love it!
This was a good read, and I enjoyed it. There were a few things that just didn't make sense to me, but overall it was good.
First off, I don't understand why Kelly would work for his parents. From Ben's book, I thought maybe she just got over it and moved on, but I don't see how she was able to keep everything from his parents and still work there every day. I also don't know why his parents hired her to begin with. I don't care if employees are hard to come by, I wouldn't want to deal with her and what she did day after day.
Then there comes Mia and Valentine. In the beginning she tells him that she can't separate her heart from things, so they need to just be friends and not continue. Any yet... they just continue anyway. Neither one of them speaks about or honors her boundaries, and they end up right back where they started. That annoys me, about both of them. If you aren't going to stay just friends, then don't put that out there.
The rest of the book is pretty predictable, yet enjoyable. I will move on to the next book.
Love love love these big burly Scottish bodyguards and the women they fall for. This was Mia and Valentine's story and it did not disappoint. These two meet in an R rated scene. That scene pretty much sets up their dirty smexy times. And those are hot hot.. especially when dealing with the kit Mia bought... I loved all of that. But I also loved seeing Mia grow from a scared timid mom to one who owns what she wants and isn't afraid to stand up for herself. Then there was Valentine. While I loved his dirty side I also loved his sweet side.. especially when it came to the kids (Tobi and especially Fin). However his stubborn side irritated me. His stubborn side almost messed with his relationship with Mia and it was definitely messing up things with his brother. Brave Mia saved all of that. Love her!
I loved watching another Scot fall. Now I'm looking forward to Raphael's turn.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review*
This story is an amazing ride!! I fell in love with Valentine and absolutely love Mia as a curvy heroine!! Mia's fearce loyalty and love for her daughter and willingness to do anything is amazing! Valentine's ability to take the leap with Mia is the best!! I love that fact that Jolie included my all-time favorite McRae, not "Daddy Gordian." I know almost everyone is all for him, and yes, he is amazing, but my all-time favorite is Cameron!! 😍 I absolutely loved seeing how his family has grown!! I love the girls, including Mia, in their group!! I loved the banter that the bodyguards have!! As always, there is tons of suspense and drama and tons of "smexy" time😉 I will say it again, Jolie. I want to live in this world of all these spectacular Scots that you have created!! I figured out the Secret Code, which is very clever!! I am very excited about Raphael's book!! Thank you, Jolie Vines, again for this amazing world!!

Oh. My. God. In a perfect world, you could spend all day just staring at Valentine on the cover of Take Her From You…while you drool all over those abs! Alas, my cell phone doesn’t appreciate having that much dampness on its screen—so let’s get to the actual review of this crazy, sexy, amazing book before I start rereading it again. 😘
Jolie Vines has taken this installment of the McRae Bodyguards to new heights…and boy is it HOT!! The storyline is naturally crazy good; the characters simply awesome; the plot twists and turns will have you scratching your head and screaming at your book—regardless of the delivery; and the HEA is beyond measure. There’s so much happening—with great heat and humor—you’ll lose your head trying to keep up! I have to say, this one definitely belongs on your TBR list. Don’t wait—grab your copy today! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and absolutely loved it!) ❤️❤️❤️
Another great read by Jolie Vines with Take Her From You! I absolutely devoured this book. The McRae world she has created enthralls me every time I read one of her books and this book was no different. Jolie has an amazing talent for writing stories that highlight the beauty of friendship, family(either found or blood) and love (with a lot of spice 🔥😉).
Take Her From You- set in beautiful Scotland, Mia Walsh is looking for a fresh start and freedom for herself and her young daughter. She meets Valentine Graham, her new roommate in the most unexpected way. The two become fast friends. Valentine past love life is filled with hurt and mistrust. He is open to a friendship but nothing more. Mia has secrets thats she’s keeping to ensure her daughter’s safety and a relationship is the last thing she is thinking about. However, life sometimes has different plans for us. I highly recommend reading this to see how the rest of the story unfolds for Mia and Valentine.
How can she keep on writing about these amazing men and I never ever get bored?
Valentine was my obsession. As soon as he was written I was in love and could not wait until this book.
Mia and her daughter Tobi are on the run. She's running from her baby daddy's family. Gets a job cleaning houses with Daisy. Daisy is with Ben, Val's brother. Val is...well hot, funny, and hot. While they are living in a bunkhouse together as roomies, they hook up, JEEZ LOUISE, SO HOT. he doesn't do relationships but its obvious to everyone but him that Mia & Tobi are his chance at happiness. Val says he isn't relationship material but he's fixing up a house, cooking dinner, driving Mia to get her daughter when trouble arises, uses a mold to make a silicone copy of his........well IYKYK. and if you don't know, you must read this!!!
This book is so amazing! Valentine is one big, sexy alpha male and I’m all about him. Mia is sweet and a single mom trying to escape her creepy ex. Moving to the Scottish Highlands is the perfect hiding place. Finding her way with her new job and getting her and her daughter a place to live is job number one. That is until she gets an eye full of her new roomie Valentine in the shower. Whoa does she get a shock! They both do, how will she ever face him? But, actually, it’s really great between them. Valentine is one of the newest hires and his troubles with Ben run deep, his ex is contacting him and he’s over it and love. Been there got burned to prove it. These two have so many challenges and I loved every minute of this steamy, protective, man bun wearing stud and his sweetie who deserves everything, Mia. I received an ARC of this book and am happily leaving this review.
Valentine was a broken tormented soul manipulated by a women. He’d sworn off love. Mia was a timid women abused by a rich man and his family raising his and her daughter and still reeling from her mothers death when she saw the need to run from that families grasp. Alone she took a job cleaning where she first saw an eyeful of Valentine. She grew as she developed friends. He needed a kick to move on. The story is so engaging and erotic. It captures the imagination but feels real in the interactions. The constant flow of past characters enhances the reality reinforcing a history but also a present. The bad continues to threaten but MC growth suppresses it. It’s so well written, even if you skip the erotic content the story would be beguiling, it’s that good.
Val is fresh out of the military and has taken a job with his brother as a bodyguard. There is some animosity between Ben and Val because of a past relationship between Val and his fiancé. Val has sworn off all relationships after his failed attempt at love. Mia is on the run from her family. She is a single mother who is looking for a new life for herself and her daughter. When Val sees Mia the first time he wants her like he has never wanted anyone before. But his heart is broken and has yet to be repaired. He feels as if he can’t let anyone in again to destroy him. This was such a great read, Val is in love with Mia and does not even realize it. He is very protective of her but unwilling to give himself to her. Can he walk away or should he open himself to love again. This will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next Great series.
