She thought it was time to settle down, but instead she's helping settle scores. In this enchanting conclusion to the whimsical series that blends the charm of Practical Magic with the warmth of the Gilmore Girls, Rosie finds herself on the brink of a magical new chapter. She prepares to take on motherhood for the second time alongside Tammy, but the tranquility of Mosswood is shattered when the Council of Witches descends into a heated election.
While the Council navigates political complexities, tragedy strikes as one of the candidates is found murdered. Rosie, determined to protect her growing family and the magical community she holds dear, takes on the unexpected role of investigator. Juggling the demands of impending motherhood and unraveling a web of magical intrigue, Rosie races against time to uncover the truth.
Suspense and intrigue blend with the comedic charm you've come to expect from a Mosswood book as Rosie learns who to trust, when to go for bust, and how not to be fussed in this heartwarming conclusion of a beloved series.
This series is a really great cozy adventure and I enjoyed reading it until this book. I'm just confused as to why Declan is no longer councilor for the Europe line when the previous books had him as Europe and Dracula was covering for South America. Also when did Hella switch from representing Africa to South America? There are also a lot of errors, like Killian instead of Cillian and at one point there is a character introduced named either Beckett or Becker.

Happy to read the last instalment in Rosie’s Mosswood tales, but there’s the duality of being sad that the stories have ended too. There was the mystery to solve of the murdered person, but that took backstage really, as this book was more about Rosie, her family and extended family, which felt right and completely fitting for the last book and end of the series. This series has been a delight to read and it feels like I’m saying goodbye to old friends 😊 but it’s also left things for the possibility of another series in the future around the next generation, or maybe the one after that too?! And I’m looking forward to reading Louisa’s new series about a character introduced in this book 😁 Anyways, I loved this book and this series - have a fab rest of your lives Rosie et all! 💖
Rosie and Declan are working on rebuilding Fox Cottage and she is 8 months pregnant. Maggie is in Middle School and Gabe is graduating. It's Election time for the Council of Witches with everyone descending on Mosswood. The Election Trials were amazing and a murder complicates everything. This book is a fitting ending to a wonderful series as it wraps up 13 books and so many lives. It's a new character introduction for a new series. And it's a heartwarming ending for a lovely group that became family. I have enjoyed Rosie, her family and friends through every Mosswood book and will miss them as they receive their happy ending. I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
The Midlife in Mosswood series concludes with Home is Where the Witch Is. This is a delightful ending to wrap up a great series. Louisa gives us one last mystery to solve while still emphasizing the importance of family, friends and love. Although HIWTWI brings this story to an end, the author leaves the reader with possibilities of future cameos and/or spin-offs. For now I will enjoy the next additions to her other series. Louisa West is a great writer and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us coming up.
This is the last in the series. It provides a good wrap up to those characters that became part of our lives. Rosie and crew are very relatable characters. There a some good laughs and a few twists to the story line. Rosie and family are rebuilding their home and dealing with life changes that involve the council and new additions to their family. This was a very enjoyable ending to an amazing series. Looking forward to new series that may give us glimpses back to Rosie and family.
Home Is Where The Witch Is (Midlife in Mosswood Book 13) by Louisa West..... What a glorious ending to a fantastic series! Highly recommend this whole series. This was a bittersweet book, but so very well done that it made it all the better. Truly could not have had a better ending to the series! Great job Louisa, congrats and now on to more exciting tales! ❤️
I really enjoyed reading the series and was really looking forward to the last installment. However, it was a bit of a letdown from her previous books. I understand the intent was to end the series on more of a personal level for Rosie, but it lacked a bit of substance for me. I also found a lot of misspellings which detracted from the flow of reading; I would suggest better proofreaders in the future. Overall, I would give this series 4.5 stars.
I liked this book as the ending of the series but I was also really confused because wasn’t Declan the council member for Europe? So why were they voting for a new European member? Also this book kept saying Hella was South America but I distinctly remember her being Africa because that’s where her dad was from. They should have been voting on South America and Australia…. Anyway, it’s not a huge issue but the lack of continuity did annoy me a little bit.
Great way to end the series. I figured she was going to end up with twins in the end and was happy they ended up going back to the house. I do wish the epilogue was a few years into the future and not a few months.
The series as a home was cute. There were a lot of typos, grammar issues and sentences that didn’t make sense throughout the whole series, more so in the later half. I would read more by Louisa West.

I really liked the COW's method of choosing the best canidate for the vacancies. Wouldn't it be wonderful if our politicians had to prove that they could work together. Running through all of the election chaos are the impending arrival of the babies and the murder of the New Zealand canidate. Rosie doesn't disappoint. I really enjoyed the entire series.
The final book in the series has lost the storyline so bad I almost couldn’t read it. the vote was supposed to be for South American and Australian lines as Declan is European line and hella is African line not South American line. Idk who wrote or proofed the final book but they obviously didn’t read the first 12. Very frustrating as I was hoping this would conclude the series nicely
An end of a fantastic series. This book does justice to the series and ties up all the loose ends. I am sorry to see the end as it was great to catch up with these characters and see what they were up to and what trouble they were getting into. I am sure that this author will give up glimpses of these characters in her future series based in Mosswood.
I love this series by Louisa West. In this book, Rosie and Tammy are pregnant. They are rebuilding Fox Cottage and doing a witch council election. When one of the candidates is murdered they have to figure out who did it. Can they figure it out in time so the election can go on?
What a fitting ending to the Mosswood series! I enjoyed every minute of this book. I sure am going to miss all our friends from this southern town, but hopefully they'll make some cameos in future series!
What a great end to the series. The Council of Witches election is completed. Rosie and Tammy give birth to their babies a d finally normality returns to Mosswood.
Book 13 is a hoot. You saw Morgana be defeated and think, what is going to be in book13? A whole lot of fun and surprises, from the gang that’s been what. Mosswood is Mosswood and this one shows it, for sure!
Finale of the Mosswood series, and just as much fun as it began. Sad to see it end, but I'm also looking forward to what Louisa has in store for us next.
