Both the storytelling and the synthesized voice are improving. Fewer weird audio artifacts in the recording. Main character Mary isn’t quite so bumbling. Instead of just confronting the people she suspects, she’s learning how to investigate, ask leading questions, and gather actual evidence. Looking forward to her future as an investigator’s assistant?

I have enjoyed every book in this series and this book was no exception. The characters are fun, intelligent, and endearing, the plot is easily followed, and the premise is finding out who killed the rude landowner and why. The main character maid, of course, was accused of it first, then a couple of other people, but the real murderer was finally revealed. I definitely recommend this book.
