When Francesca discovers a dead body and an autistic Amish boy in her front yard, she turns to her late husband's friend Tanner, an FBI agent, to find out what's going on and keep them both safe.
I discovered later that this is the latest book in a long series of Amish romantic suspense novels centered in the same region, but my lack of familiarity with prior books wasn't an issue - this works well as a standalone.
I enjoyed what we saw of Fran and Tanner's connection, as well as learning about Fran's work as a crime scene artist, which wasn't a job I knew existed. I'm not Christian, but I thought the characters' faith was handled well, especially how the author drew the line between toxic tradition and actual faith through Fran's backstory.
However, I did think the plot was weak. I enjoy romantic suspense novels, but I have noticed a tendency with Harlequin romantic suspense to sometimes amp up the action and sideline the romance because of the restricted page count. I don't usually mind this, but when the mystery is flimsy, as it is here, it can really hamper my overall enjoyment of the book. The Amish connection felt shoehorned in, and after pages and pages of bullets being fired but no real progress on figuring out who was going it, I found myself getting bored. The author does try to throw in a personal connection for Fran toward the end, but by then it was just too little too late.
Disclaimer: I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley. This is my honest and voluntary review.
This is an Amish Romantic Suspense, and this is the 19th book in the Amish Country Justice series. I have not read all the other books in this series before picking up this book, but I think you can read this book as a stand alone without any problems. I got pulled into this story right away, and I really loved getting to know the characters in this book. I loved that this book has an Autistic character, and I think the little boy that has Autism brings so much to the story. This was a good read and I enjoyed every minute I spent reading this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

I received a digital ARC of Protecting the Amish Child from Love Inspired Suspense (Harlequin Books) and NetGalley. I am not required to write a positive review in any way or for any reason. My honest and unbiased opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on the writing style, the pacing, and the story’s content, ensuring transparency and reliability.
Protecting the Amish Child is a fast-paced page-turner. I read it in one sitting and it had me engaged from the first few pages. The characters Francesca Brown & Tanner Hall were real, with many layers and flaws. They both had prior relationships that went bad. Add being chased by someone who wants you dead, an autistic Amish boy, and trying to solve murders and you have the perfect story to keep you guessing.
Dana weaves a story that will immerse you in danger, and have you trying to solve a conspiracy, all the while your heart will ache for what they go through. You don't want to miss this one!
I received a complimentary copy from the author; a positive review is not required. All opinions are my own.

Another great story from Dana Lyn. It’s set in Sutter Springs and Francesca finds a body in her yard. Things escalate from there. If you enjoy suspense and a little romance, this book is for you.
This was my very FIRST time reading a book by Dana R Lynn and it did NOT disappoint.
Francesca discovers a dead body in her yard only to then also find a young autistic Amish boy is out there alone, and SHE is being targeted! But why? Years earlier her husband was killed and while she suspected there was more to the story, she never knew why. Now someone was killed on her land, a young boy needs to find home and everywhere she goes shots are flying! Tanner, a friend of her late husband, arrives just on the scene to help keep Fran safe, as well as the young boy. But Fran and Tanner haven't seen each other since her husband's death, and its made being around each other a bit awkward. But as Fran and Tanner work to try to undercover what's going on they spend more and more time together and those walls start coming down. But Tanner is only there until this case is solved... and then he's going home. And is Francesca even interested in yet another relationship that could lead to heartbreak? Most importantly WHY is Fran being targeted and WHO is this little Amish boy that she found on her property... is it connected to her late husband's death?!
***Thank you to Netgalley for my advanced copy of this book. The review was all my own opinion.
Once I start reading these books, I just can't stop reading them. Sometimes the frequency of the calamities seems over the top but it keeps me reading and forsaking everything else. As a reader, I kept trying to guess who was involved and kept guessing until the end. The little Amish boy, Joey, was so sweet and loved the way that he was portrayed.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own
Heartwarming, suspenseful, and full of action! Author Dana R. Lynn pulled off an excellent mixture of emotions and uncertainties in this incredible novel. Forensic artist Francesca Brown finds a dead body on her front lawn, then an autistic child hiding in the tall grass in her back acreage. Bullets start flying, and the battle is on. Someone is out to kill her and the child. FBI Agent Tanner Hall arrives on the scene. How can he protect Francesca and the frightened child who doesn’t understand the surrounding danger and the need to stay calm? He admires Francesca and has asked her out in the past, only to be turned down because of his line of work. Regardless of her rejections, he has a job to do. Protect them and find those who want them dead. How will Francesca and Tanner handle such a delicate case? Who are the child’s parents? Will Francesca let go of her husband’s death and find happiness? Will she open her heart to Tanner?
This is my new favorite book by Dana. I have read all of her Love Inspired Suspense books and this one is superb! I loved the mystery of this one and the inclusion of the austic amish child took the story to a whole new level for me. A fantastic read!
I received a copy of this book from the author and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.
PROTECTING THE AMISH CHILD by Dana R. Lynn is the fabulously well-written story of Francesca Brown, forensic artist, and FBI Special Agent Tanner Hall as circumstances and their jobs throw them together to protect a little autistic Amish boy, try to find out what happened and where his parents are while keeping the boy calm, and trying to stay two steps ahead of the person or persons determined to drop them in their tracks.
Fran, as most call her, works for half dozen police departments outside Berlin, Ohio - including the Sutter Springs Police Department in the town she lives in. She’s is good at her job and often sought after. Little did she know that the latest job would show up in her front lawn. That’s exactly what happened when she looked out onto her lawn and found the dead body of the federal judge’s son that’s been missing for the past 6 years. While checking for signs of live, several shots were fired at her while on the line with 9-1-1. Barely making it back to the house, that’s where Lieutenant Kathy Bartlett, her friend, and Agent Hall found her.
Tanner was Francesca’s deceased husband’s partner back when he died in what was reported as a hit-n-run accident. As close as he was to Sean, he really knew nothing about his wife. The one time he had reached out to her after his death hadn’t really gone well and he’s never tried to contact her again. Upon seeing her loving interaction with this young boy and knowing the danger she was in, he immediately became protective of them both. Her strength, resilience, and artistic talent had that admiration growing. He soon knows he would put his life on the line to keep them both safe.
Both Francesca and Tanner bring baggage to the table. Francesca was toss aside first by her parents and then by her sister over the man she fell in love with and married because he wasn’t of the social status nor income bracket they expected her to marry into. While she loved them, she couldn’t stay in line with their way of thinking becoming thought of as rebellious and unworthy of their love. Then to have suffered a miscarriage followed by the death of the man she loved might have bought lots of people down, but Francesca is a strong willing survivor if nothing else. It’s also left her leery of extending herself out again only to be rejected because of who she is. Tanner has baggage and fears leftover from his childhood. These are topped with feelings of rejection that were highlighted when the woman he thought he would spend the rest of his life with left him after seeing the scars he carried from an earlier accident. He feels no one could possibly love him the way he is.
Francesca (Tanner will use no other name because it suits her so well) bonds instantly with Joey. Will his autism bring longing for her niece who has the same condition? As much as she yearns for her sister, dare she open herself up further rejection and pain? Can Tanner and Francesca keep Joey calm, happy and protected as well as find his parents? Can they figure out who is out to kill Francesca and why - all while stopping him along the way? Does any of this have anything to do with the strong box, Francesca found hidden 6 years after her husband’s death? Is it possible that these two flawed people that feel unworthy or fearful can find strength in each other? Will the faith of each (one that’s always been strong and one that’s wavered) be the pull to bring them together? Dare they even dream worthy of a happily ever after?
PROTECTING THE AMISH CHILD is an amazing story that you will not be able to put down once you start reading it. It’s a story of overcoming fears, finding out that in God’s eye we are whole and in need of no one else’s approval, learning that handicaps are just being different and that different is ok, acceptance, forgiveness, and love with it all wrapped in a fabulous thread of faith. Dana R. Lynn will grab your attention on page one, take you on a story ride that she weaved so perfectly and leaves you happy and with many parts of the story to reflect on – and maybe even be able to put some things talked about into your own life story. PROTECTING THE AMISH CHILD is positively a FIVE STAR book and one that I highly recommend to everyone!
I receive an ARC of this book with no requirement or expectations of a review. All opinions are completely my own. #ProtectingTheAmishChild #danarlynn #loveinspiredsuspense #inspirationalromance #amish #mustread
A killer in pursuit… and a little boy’s life is at stake. When Francesca Brown discovers a dead body, bullets start flying her way. Soon FBI agent Tanner Hall arrives—only to find an autistic Amish boy hiding nearby. As a witness to a crime, it’s clear someone will stop at nothing to silence the little boy—permanently. With assailants on their trail, can Fran and Tanner unravel a lethal conspiracy before the murderer strikes again? This is Francesca Brown , FBI agent Tanner Hall and a young autistic Amish boy name Joey 's story.. .
Francesca Brown slipped her feet into her favorite slip-on sandals, the ones with rhinestones along the strap that went across her toes, and took her mug filled with salted caramel tea out to the wraparound porch her grandfather had built fifty years ago. Taking a sip of the steaming tea, she frowned. The air was a bit cool for the end of August, probably due to the near constant precipitation and cloud cover they’d had for the past four days. The rain showed no signs of letting up. She had errands to run in town. While she relished observing a good storm from the safety of her porch and enjoyed listening to the drops land on the roof above her, driving in it was a different matter altogether. Francesca Brown is enjoying the morning on her porch when she sees something laying in her yard. As she goes to investigate she realizes it's a person. Then someone shoots at her! FBI Special Agent Tanner Hall. He’d worked with Sean on several cases in the past, but Fran had never met him until he’d come to Sutter Springs on a case two years ago. She’d done her best to avoid him. His presence had been too painful for her .But she’d never forgotten him. Would he know who her husband had warned her about? She’d never asked. What if she didn’t like what he said about Sean? She liked to think he was on the side of good. But what if he wasn’t? If he was at the scene of this crime, it must mean the FBI had an interest in it. It couldn’t be a coincidence that he showed up at the scene where the body of a missing youth had been discovered. How had he gotten there so fast? Would working with him give her the opportunity to answer the questions that kept her awake at night? Fran is a forensic artist who works with local area law enforcement. Who is this little Amish boy that she found on her property? I recommend this book.. Protecting the Amish Child by Dana R. Lynn is a wonderful well written 5 star book. I am looking forward to reading more books by Dana R. Lynn. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. Ever pick up a book and everything fades but the words on the page and the scenes flow one to another? Anytime I am granted the opportunity to review one of her Amish mysteries, I’m the gal jumping up and down and yelling, “Me! Me! Me!” She has fast become one of my favorite Amish mystery authors.
What a story! How Dana Lynn comes up with unique mystery plots one after the other — good mystery plots. This one — 12 words start the description and I was hooked. “A killer in pursuit…and a little boy’s life is at stake.” I always read the author’s bio and learned Ms. Lynn is a teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing. I always wanted to learn sign …my grandpa was deaf and we relied heavily on the “magic slate” for communication. I am sure her knowledge is one of the things that made this story so compelling. AND the fact she is one heck of a writer.
I hadn’t swiped my Kindle Fire more than twice before I knew this book was a goodun. Just about the time you think, “Ah-Ha! I know what is happening.” Or “Yep! it’s gotta be THAT guy.” There is a twist to the action. As a reader, you are not disappointed. You are intrigued–just got read a little bit more. That laundry will wait. Who cares if there is dust on all the tables? The stuff in the dishwasher is clean — it can sit there. Because Fran and that sweet little boy! You know if you keep reading, YOU are the one keeping them safe.
Can you tell I loved this book? I did and, of course, I recommend it. I give it 6 stars if I could. Protecting the Amish Child is #19 in the “Amish Country Justice” series. It can be read alone. I’m in the process of reading the other 18. But this one, for me, is special. I know I will re-read it. Yes, I now have my own copy.
I received a complimentary DRC (digital review copy) of Protecting the Amish Child via NetGalley from the publisher, Harlequin – Romance | Love Inspired Suspense. A positive review was not required; the opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
Rating: 5 stars Series: Amish Country Justice #19 Cover: Perfect. A spooky Amish buggy. Pages: 227 via Amazon ~ 272 on Goodreads. Publish Date: 20 August 2024 #ProtectingtheAmishChild #NetGalley #DanaRLynn
Terrific addition to the Amish Country Justice series. The books are connected by common characters, themes, and locations, but each can be read as a standalone. As with the author's other books, this one grabbed my attention from the first page and kept me hooked until the end (when I should have been asleep!).
Francesca is a forensic artist and the widow of an FBI agent. One stormy night, she discovered a dead body in her yard. While reporting the body to the police, someone started shooting at her. Besides the arrival of the local police, Special Agent Tanner Hall is also on the scene. Tanner worked with her late husband, and she avoids him whenever possible. He brings up painful memories.
Tanner is on the case because of the identity of the dead man. Francesca's husband, Sean, had been a colleague and a friend, and Tanner believes Sean would want him to watch out for her. Tanner suspects that Sean's death wasn't an accident, and he needs to talk to her about it. But the current crisis has priority.
The dead man was connected to a case that Tanner and Sean worked on and had been in witness protection until he disappeared. Now he's turned up at Sean's house, raising questions about where he's been. Matters become complicated when they find a young Amish boy who is also autistic. What follows is a roller coaster of twists and turns, ups and downs, as they fight off attacks and search for Joey's family. Little clues unknowingly dropped by Joey lead them in an unexpected direction. A discovery at Fran's house provides another surprise and answers a few questions while raising more. The resolution was a nail-biter with a perpetrator I didn't see coming.
I enjoyed watching the development of the relationship between Francesca and Tanner. Each has some things from their pasts that make them wary of getting involved. But the more time they spend together, the more they get to know each other. I liked the respect they had for each other's work. Their attraction and feelings grew, but what would happen when the case was over and Tanner returned to his home base? I liked the soul-searching each did as they decided whether to pursue those feelings. I loved the ending and seeing them get the happy-ever-after they wanted.
Protecting the Amish Child Dana R. Lynn Forensic artist Francesca Brown was enjoying her morning tea on her porch when she noticed something in her yard. As she walked over to look, she realized it was a body then the bullets started flying. FBI Special Agent Tanner Hall had worked on several cases with FBI Special Agent Sean Brown, Francesca’s deceased husband. She was curious as to why Tanner was there and how he managed to get there that fast. She had not met Tanner when her husband was alive but had met him two years ago. Seeing him brought up painful memories so she avoided him. She had a lot of unanswered questions that kept her awake at night, maybe she could discuss them with Tanner. She found a young Amish Autistic boy hiding on her property. He was a witness to the murder, and someone wanted to keep him quiet. Tanner was there to protect Francesca. Sean had been a friend as well as a colleague and he would have wanted Tenner to protect her. Tanner has never thought Sean’s death was an accident. He needed to discuss it with Francesca but first he needs to find out who was trying to kill her and the boy. The dead man had been in witness protection until he went missing, he was linked to a case Tanner and Sean had worked on. The fact that his body has shown up at Sean’s house is suspicious. Tanner realizes the young boy’s life was in danger. Francesca and Tanner search for the child’s family. This tale is filled with twists and turns and a surprise ending. The relationship between Francesca and Tanner was slow to grow but was satisfying to watch. Both were wary of a relationship. They liked each other and respected each other but weren’t sure they wanted a relationship. Thank you NetGalley for the review copy...
Protecting the Amish Child will grab readers from the outset, shake them up, and keep them flipping pages until the screaming end.
Francesca Brown is a forensic artist who is used to going to crime scenes, but she's not used to her home being one of them. She lost her FBI husband to a suspicious death and is still grieving her loss, but when she finds a body in her yard, she doesn't hesitate to check things out. Just as she determines the young man is dead, bullets start flying but not before she recognizes the missing son of a jailed judge.
FBI agent Tanner Hall is sent to the scene, where the crime scene investigators discover an autistic Amish boy hiding nearby. When Fran's experience with her autistic niece helps calm the boy, she becomes instrumental in learning what he knows. Little Joey - whose name they learn by accident - can draw anything he's seen - another thing they learn by accident. As Fran coaxes him to use her drawing pad to show them what he's witnessed, it becomes obvious that he knew the young man who died, and that there may be more bodies to find. Can Tanner and Fran work together to protect this little boy when someone out there is equally determined to silence all of them?
I think this one had some of the scariest situations I've read in a Dana Lynn suspense. The action was "heart-in-the-throat", with the bad guys constantly coming back, even when I was sure they couldn't possibly find them. I absolutely recommend this to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense books. Dana R. Lynn doesn't disappoint with this one!
My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Protecting the Amish Child. This is book nineteen in the series Amish Country Justice. I'm a huge fan of Dana's work. I love Amish stories especially when there is suspense involved. this book is incredible. I know you are going to love it. Widowed Forensic Artist Francesca (Fran) Brown is enjoying to cool rain and a hot cup of tea on her front porch when she notices a pair of shoes in her front lawn. She leaves her tea to go check if there is a body connected to the shoes. She discovers a young man that has been missing for the past six years. She is talking to the 911 operator when shots are fired. She runs to the safety of her home. FBI Agent Tanner Hall hears about the shooting. He had been close friends with her husband. He should have been checking up on her. His boss has reopened Jared's case so he needs to find out what is happening. As more people arrive to process the scene they find a back pack with a child's toy. Is there another victim or a witness? He has to keep Fran safe and find the child. A terrifying journey to keep Fran and the autistic Amish child safe. God has a plan for these broken souls, a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan for peace and not for harm. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life. He loves you.
Protecting the Amish Child is book 19 in the Amish Country Justice series that is written by Dana R Lynn. All books that can be read as stand alone - they are all connected by the Amish Country theme. This story starts out with a lot of fast paced action, and it does not let up throughout the whole book. It all starts when Francesca Brown finds a dead body. When FBI Special Agent Tanner Hall responds, they soon find a scared, autistic child hiding on her property. It soon becomes clear that the little child has witnessed this horrific crime, and those responsible will stop at nothing to silence him.
I think one of my favorite things about this book is that both, Francesca and Tanner are real feeling. They have flaws, they have bad relationships in their pasts. I really love when authors create authentic characters. The author has captured Amish Country beautfully and has woven in a special character with autism.
This book will draw you in within the first few pages. You will want to read it all in one sitting. The book will have your heart pounding and keep you on the edge of your seat. I love this series so much and it keeps getting better and better with each book,
Thank you to the author, for allowing me to read a copy of this book, all thoughts are my own.
Dana R. Lynn touched my heart, once again. Throughout the pages of Protecting the Amish Child, murder, mayhem, loss, and abandonment seemed to be emotions that were constantly present. Francesca Brown had her world destroyed by the loss of love and contact with her true family -- her parents and sister. Then once again, loss occurred with the death of her husband. Throughout the years, Fran had become strong and resilient. When a young man was murdered in her front yard, she called in the local police -- and FBI agent Tanner Hall arrived, too. They found a young boy, who was missing from an Amish community, hiding from danger. As they began to piece the clues, more pieces of the puzzle become clear. Danger lurks, yet Tanner has decided to protect Fran, no matter what the cost. By the end of the book, the mystery resolved, and I felt rejuvenated. It was a well-written mystery with an almost instant developing romance, between Tanner and Fran. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars for its realistic portrayal of this incident and the mystery crafted within the story. Dana R. Lynn touched my heart, and I believe she has finely tuned her craft to draw in the reader and to never let go!!
How do I even put into words the amount of love I have for this book? Dana Lynn, this is at the top of my list! Suspense, thrills, high speed chases, explosions, gun fire- all in the making of this 5 star read(I would even vote more if I could). Fran discovers a dead body in her yard, but why in the world would it be in her yard? Also, a young autistic boy is found hiding on the property and does he have any connection to the dead body. She will soon find out that this body will have a huge impact on her life, even possibly causing her death. Can she protect herself and this precious child? Fran must get to the bottom of this with the help of handsome FBI agent Tanner Hall. Will she be able to escape death in the mean time? Can she keep this child safe to reunite him with his parents? This book really was close to my heart because I have a family member with autism. Not too many books are written with autistic characters and Mrs. Lynn did a fabulous job of describing the life of an autistic child. Thank you for having this character in your book and making him a pivotal character! Hayes off to you! I literally devoured this book because you just can’t stop. I was pulled in from the first pages. This is romantic suspense at its finest! This book is a must read!
This is Book#19 in the Amish Country Justice series but can by read has a standalone book.
This book grabbed me from the very beginning and the further into the book I got I could hardly put it down and stayed up late one night just to finish it.
Francesca (Fran) Brown is a forensic artist and is also the widow of a FBI agent named Sean. During a stormy night Fran goes outside and discovers a dead body of a young man in her yard and then gets shot at herself so calls the local police. When they show up Special Agent Tanner Hall showed up too. He was Sean’s partner. The body ends up being linked to a case that Tanner and Sean had been working on.
They locate an autistic Amish boy who witnessed this awful crime on the property so Fran and Tanner go to great lengths to protect him and find his family. Fran and Tanner had to deal with their pasts and while on the run they grow closer and fall in love.
I never would have guessed who was behind the whole thing and why.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. The review expressed here is my honest opinion.
Forensic artist Francesca Brown finds a dead body in her front yard one morning. Very soon thereafter she is running from bullets in her own front yard. After they find an Amish boy, who has autism, hiding in the woods behind her house, the mystery deepens. FBI Agent Tanner Hall arrives on the scene. Someone is trying to kill this defenseless little boy.
Tanner and Francesca join forces to keep him safe, while trying to solve the mystery of who would want to kill this young man. Francesca is a very likable character. She is full of compassion and cares deeply for this little boy that she does not even know. Tanner is a very likable character as well. He is fighting his feelings for Francesca. He admires everything about her, but he especially admires her ability to bond with this little boy and keep him safe.
The action is fully amped from the beginning pages with bullets flying, car accidents and knife fights. You cannot go wrong reading this installment of the Amish Country Justice series.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
We are back with another book in the gripping Amish Country Justice series by author Dana Lynn! In Protecting the Amish Child, widow and forensic artist Francesca Brown awakens to a dead man on her lawn. Responding along with local law enforcement is FBI Special Agent Tanner Hall. Tanner and Francesca find a frightened young autistic boy hiding on her property. Realizing he is witness to a crime, Tanner and Fran work together to keep him and themselves safe when they come under attack. Someone will stop at nothing to make sure the little boy can’t talk. Bits of attraction to one another creep in as they focus on safety and trying to solve the case and catch a killer. However they both have scars, and despite their growing admiration for one another, each are determined to never let anyone else in their hearts. But is that the Lord’s plan for them, as well? You will want to find out! Plus it has my favorite, an epilogue! I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.
She's done it again! Author Dana R. Lynn shares another exciting story that will keep you guessing the identity of the person trying to silence Francesca Brown and the little Amish boy that she's found hiding outside her house! Is there a connection between this occurrence and the last words that her late husband said to her: "I made a mistake. Don't trust him."
Lynn takes us back to Sutter Springs, Ohio for another thrilling book in her Amish Country Justice series. Protecting the Amish Child has all of the elements that I've come to expect from this author: intriguing characters, intense action, and unpredicted repercussions from past events. It's filled with twists and turns and the promise of sweet romance but there's also an inspiring message of faith and redemption woven into the plot. If you're looking for "page-turning, can't-put-it-down" romantic suspense, grab a copy of Protecting the Amish Child
I received a copy of this book from the author. There was no obligation for a positive review.
This is a romantic suspense. Though part of a series, it works fine as a stand alone. Fran is a forensic artist who works with local area law enforcement. Her husband may have been murdered, but she doesn't know why. Now a young man from one of his cases is found murdered in her yard and a young, Amish, autistic boy is found hiding nearby. The boy seems most comfortable with her, so she and Tanner protect him as a potential witness while trying to find ways to find out who the boy is and what he knows. The use the clues from the boy to track down answers.
The suspense came from hired killers repeatedly attacking them. Fran and Tanner worked well together. They became friends and started to care for each other as they spent time together. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this interesting novel.
I received an ebook review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.
Protecting the Amish Child is a sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat story from beginning to end, and I was hooked by the intrigue from the first page. Francesca and Tanner are wonderful characters who each have some baggage that they carry. Their story was perfectly blended with elements of intrigue, suspense, mystery, and faith. The twists and turns kept me guessing who the culprit was and what would happen to Francesca and Tanner.
Author Dana Lynn has crafted an amazing story of romance and suspense. But she has also added some fantastic insight into autism and hyperthymesia. Both were very informative, adding very special and integral details to the story. This remarkable story is sure to keep you glued to the pages until the very end.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book. All comments and opinions are voluntary and completely my own.
Fast paced action with detailed and realistic suspense, faith and a gentle buddy romance is found in this book. Dana R. Lynn is known for her suspense that is intriguing and captivating from the start of the story till the end.
Protecting the Amish Child is no different when Francesca and Tanner is working to protect an autistic and fearful little boy. The unexpected kept happening with lives being threaten and chased till they were exhausted. Who has been on the rampage of destroying lives? Will answers be found soon enough to save little Joey from being a victim? Fans of Amish suspense will not want to miss Lynn’s latest book in her Amish Country Justice series.
I received an early copy of the book from the author without any obligation write a positive review. I have shared my own thoughts.
You'll want to make sure you get a copy of Protecting the Amish Child by Dana R. Lynn. You meet Francesca Brown, who's had so much heartache in her life already, she soon adds to her troubles when she discovers a dead body and as she's calling it in to the police, the bullets start flying her way and she must duck and cover before she's hit! When the police and FBI Agent, Tanner Hall arrive on the scene they soon find an autistic Amish boy hiding nearby. As a witness to a crime, it's clear the evil person will stop at nothing to make sure their crime stays hidden and wants to silence anyone getting in their way. With evil people on their trail, Francesca, Tanner and their little charge must stay one step ahead of the bad guys and unravel the mystery before the murderer strikes again. This book was full of fun suspense and kept your head on a swivel!
A fast paced novel that I very much enjoyed. A rollercoaster ride from the get go that will not let you put this story down. I liked that there was just enough romance in it not to ruin it. I was kept guessing all the way through. My kind of novel! Lots of twists and turns that I didn't see coming to make me hold my breath in places. Two wonderful characters that I've come to love and know was Franscessa and Tanner. I felt sorry for the Amish baby and I kept rooting for him. I'm giving this story 5 stars for a cool story that I couldn't put down. I highly recommend! My thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.
Yet another amazing read by Dana R. Lynn. The entire time I had a hard time putting the book down and often hurried to get done what I needed to so I could return to reading it. I enjoyed Fran and Tanner's story immensely as well as getting to know little Joey. Despite everything that Fran and Tanner endured, neither one of them gave up on the case and even though Fran struggles with her relationship with God she still held onto her belief that God heard her and would protect help her. They both struggle with things that have happened in their past but despite all of it they push it all aside to help little Joey find his family and solve the case. This book is a must read. For anyone who loves Dana R. Lynn's books you must pick up this read.
