When Juliet realises the new gardener is the man that she had the best s*x of her life with, she acts like he's a stranger.

Juliet struggle to keep their hands to themselves?

I live in Cheshire with my husband, two dogs and mum in law and write romantic humour and contemporary romance. My first two books, Guess Who I Pulled Last Night? and No Bra Required both stayed at number 1 on the Amazon Humour list for 3 & 4 weeks respectively. My ambitions of becoming a writer started at the age of 10 when I started writing poetry at school, and was given the honour of reading one out to the rest of my year group (an horrific experience that I will never forget). Thankfully I have a wide variety of strange and wonderful people in my life, otherwise I'd be stuck on what to write about! I am currently talking to family and friends, finding out their innermost secrets in readiness for my next book.

My books are romances that come with a little more than vanilla sexy times, sometimes a few tears, lots of hot men and feisty women, but ultimately they'll make you smile.

The best thing about a book by Nikki Ashton is you always know your in for a treat. This book was short but sweet, a great way to spend a few hours, (it would have been better by the pool but unfortunately I was surrounded by two demanding 3 year olds).

Jack and Juliet have a past and both are stubborn and hardheaded. I loved how they reconnected and following a bit of miscommunication and shennanigans they manage to find their way back to each other.

There is a great cast of surrounding characters especially the rhyming siblings, my only issue is I like to read both characters pov and we only see Jack's in the epilogue but this in no way affected my enjoyment of the book.

Now I'm off to read the others in the series.

Note. I was gifted an arc copy for an honest unbiased review.

In "The Awkquaintance" by Nikki Ashton, readers are treated to a delightful and entertaining second-chance romance. This book is the fourth instalment in the Curvy Girl series and it certainly lives up to its predecessors.

The story revolves around Juliet and Jack, two individuals who share a spicy weekend but never meet again until Jack is employed to work on the garden of Juliet’s grandparents house. The awkwardness and strong personalities make for a hilarious and entertaining read. From the moment they reconnect, their connection is palpable and the chemistry between them sizzles off the pages.

Nikki Ashton has a knack for writing witty and laugh-out-loud moments that had me chuckling throughout the entire book. The comedic timing was spot-on, and the humour never felt forced or overdone.

Another 5 star winner!

Another funny little story by the amazing Nikki Ashton 😂

Juliet inherits her grandparents house, which she did not expect due them them belittling her size throughout her young life and also just being horrid people!

She wants to sell it as she doesn’t want it, but in order to do that she needs to ‘spruce’ it up or she won’t get any monies made

Jack turns up as the gardener her mum hired and low and behold, it’s the same Jack that she had a whirlwind weekend with a few years previous who just vanished……

THEN Jack turns up with a little girl intact, Edie…..but not is how it seems

This is a great lol 😆 Ron com and you will need tissues for the laughter tears once you get to the shed 😜😜😜

Nikki does it again . What a fantastic laugh out loud story.
This is the 4th book in the curvy girls club. Once I started I couldn't put this story down, the characters are absolutely fantastic and easy to love.
Jack and Juliet's love story started 3 years earlier where they had a sexy weekend together but jack never turned up to say goodbye ...
Sexy, adorable , laugh out loud second chance romance that you won't want to stop. Look out for the garden shed lol.
Thank you Nikki for another fabulous story.

A fantastic addition to the series. Nikki has done it AGAIN with this book. It's the fourth and last book in the series and they have all been brilliant.

This book is about Jack and Juliet who met on a weekend away and caught feelings. Jack was meant to come and say goodbye to Juliet but he never turned up. Fast forward three years and he ends up being her gardener and making it an awkuaintance. This second chance at love will give you all the feels and it is packed full of humour Nikki Ashton style! 🧡🧡

All four books are a must read!

This is the 4th Novella in The Curvy Girls series. A fantastic collection of reads for the summer or anytime you want a quick read and something to make you smile, giggle and laugh loudly. I read this in 4 or 5 hours in between getting the washing done.
In The Awkquaintance we meet Juliet, who has been left her Grandparents home, which is odd in itself because not only were they truly horrid people but they treated Juliet terribly as a child due to her size deciding she was ugly because of it. Juliet decides the best thing to do is sell the rumbling falling down heap but a clause in the will says she can't sell it until she renovated it, and her Grandfather has left funds to do it. So in she moved amid builders and construction, and one very hunky gardener, who her father hired on her behalf. Imagine her shock when it turns out to be Jack, her one that got away. A chance meeting on a weekend away 3 years earlier which resulted in 3 days in bed with the Adonis who is Jack. On the day she was leaving he was supposed to meet her to say goodbye, he never showed and she was heartbroken. Jack and Juliet now have to navigate the awkwardness of working together, the awakening of old feelings and inevitably keeping their hands of each other. Builders bums, rocking garden sheds and donkey sanctuaries all get a look in. Plenty of giggles and outright hilarity, so very Nikki Ashton. I love ending a book with a big smile on my face.

The Curvy Girls stories comes to a close with The Awkquaintance and I want to say that Nikki Ashton saved the best until last.

Juliet and Jack are absolutely hilarious together even with some hurt feelings at the beginning.

I love that I absolutely abhore Juliet's grandparents, their horrible words and actions BUT at least 'they' brought Jack into her life when she needed him most.

There is nothing not to celebrate about this book. It's a laugh out loud, done in one (sitting), classic romcom and in the style we've become so used to when reading Nikki Ashton's words. Bravo!!

I love a nikki book and this one is no different. So funny. Juliet and Jack had a great weekend but he didn't meet her when he said. Was there a reason or is it just that Juliet isn't the girl boys want a future with! Juliet's mum is soooo funny but you would be so embarrassed if she was your mum but the kind of mum you would love to be. Well done Nikki, your books are what we need when you need a good funny book x

Beautiful

How could you not fall in love with this story? Juliet Morris was a beautiful woman in this story and Jack Montague was the one that almost got away by accident. Sometimes mistakes happen, but 3 years later fate fixes its error. Can't wait to see this Authors next adventure.

Absolutely no surprise that this is yet another cracking book delivered by Nikki Ashton!

This book is the fourth instalment in the Curvy Girl series and I think it may be my favourite.

Juliet has been comparing every man she’s met to that of Jack who she met 3yrs previously on a sex filled weekend in Blackpool……fate then brings them together, both stubborn but eventually realise they’re meant to be.

This book made my laugh a lot, especially the Shed and Head Torch 😂😂

Thank you once again Nikki for a fabulous book / series.

Ive really enjoyed this series and Nikki really does know how to write a story that hooks you in from the very first pages!
These books set in The Curvy Girls world are all short, fun and quirky and all leave you begging for more!
I think Juliet and Jack are my favourite couple, meeting previously years before they both get a shock when Jack turns up to be Juliets new gardener. Cue hilarious moments, emotional scenes and sexual chemistry galore!
Wish these books were longer as all the couples have more more more to give us!

The fourth book in the Curvy Girl Series is just as fantastic as the first three, honestly, I can’t recommend these short stories enough. Each and every one follows the path of a generously curvy woman who falls for a handsome guy. The sense of humour in each is great and I laughed out loud with tears in my eyes from the hilarity as I read the antics and fun banter. The Awkquaintance is just the same but as with the other three books, it is based in a totally different setting with very different characters.

Even though this is a romantic comedy, this book explores the insecurities a curvy woman, or man for that matter, can have after being ridiculed for their size. The facts certainly are worthy of reflection by everyone though, no matter their size. Basic self respect is something we all should have but sadly many of us don’t. Likewise, people who look like they have it all, might not, and we shouldn’t assume they do.

The characters in this were so real, from their insecurities to their down-to-earth outlook about life and relatives! The lead characters, Jack and Juliet, were sensational and I immediately liked them. Juliet’s parents were a hoot too, especially her mother! 😆 Even the builders renovating the house were terrific.

Okay, I admit it, I might just like The Awkquaintance 🤏🏼 more than the previous three books in the series, but only by that small margin, as they are all so good.

I've really enjoyed this series and I'm sad to see it come to an end. I loved getting to know all of the characters. Think the author saved the best for last as I loved Juliet & Jack together but also the message that was hidden behind all the stories which I truly liked as I'm not one of the smallest. It was a funny and romantic story with some sass. The banter between Juliet & Jack was contagious. A great read and a good conclusion to this series!

As Juliet enherits a house which has her moving back home but there's a catch in the will and she'll have to make sure the house is up and ready to be sold. As a writer, she really doesn't have much time but she doesn't have much choice and tries to handle everything as best as she can. It's been all hands on deck and when she sees who the gardener is, she never expected to see the man again who left her broken hearted a few years back... When Jack stands face to face again with Juliet, there still seems to be something between them but nothing seems to go smoothly as they argue more than they agree on things. But slowly everything is changing and their relationship grows deeper. Will they find their way back to one another? And will Juliet stay in the end?...

WOW, what a book, what a series, every one of these book are absolutely brilliant, once you start reading you can't stop till the end, I was up till 2 am as I just couldn't go to bed till the book ended.

This is Jack and Juliet's book. Juliet had inherited her grandparent's house but it had stipulations in the will. It was in a really bad state and she had to renovate it. The garden was really overgrown so she got her dad to hire her a gardener, any gardener would do!

Jack is a gardener, he is the one that Juliet's dad hired, not knowing there was a history between the two of them but Juliet tries to pretend that she didn't know him.....yeah like that will work!

I adored Edie who was Jack's niece, she had some great onliners and was so cute.

After reading this I realise two things, one my garden is a mess, and two I need a shed and a sexy gardener.

Well done Nikki to get these four books out within a short timeframe and each of them different, fantastic and funny in true Nikki style, they are all a must-read.

This is the forth and last book in this series and the author left the best book til last. It was so lol funny.. I loved Juliet and Jack. They already know each other from a past dalliance sj when he turns up at her house that she inherited to do the garden landscaping you can imagine both of their suprise. Juliet is still hurting from that rejection so you can imagine her defence mechanisms are working overtime. Queue a lot of miscommunications, misunderstandings and the sexual tension is off the chart, all the laugh out loud moments .. I can tell you you will never look at a head torch the same way again lol … and I so need a potting shed lol… You will fall in love with all the characters. This book and the whole series is perfect for an afternoons read plus they all hit the nail in the head with the insecurities of what curvy girls go through.. I loved all the books but this is my fav of the four of them…
