I dig JU VU. She's funny, smart, a powerful female writer role model, and she loves investigation. What more do I need? I wish we were friends. I would like to hang out with her. The book was fun and funny and a pretty light and easy read. The book is about a girl trying to find her parents until she realizes her search was twisted in unexpected ways. During her trip, she encounters numerous strange affairs in a big city, overwhelming her mountainous girl mindset. She also had never thought of her involvement in multiple murder scenes. Well, I don’t want to list details here; I’m not that much of a spoiler. 😊)) You read and find out for yourself. Each with its own causes and processes unfold excellently by JU VU. Well, in this aspect, I thought the author had a vibe of Conan Doyle, because just a negligible detail could be a sign to uncover the murder. Officer Duy is well-built; he has all the elements I think a man should have. Highly recommend.
Okay, this book is like a rollercoaster of investigation and murder madness. The author's storytelling skills are off the charts, weaving the plot in a way that kept me guessing. And the humor, man, it's a whole new level, not your typical US comedy but more like that awesome Japanese manga or Korea's. The plot is so carefully constructed, and the characters are wonderfully believable. I enjoyed it just as much as the first book, but for different reasons.
Ok, Not bad at all! The pacing is quite fast, and I love that it involves high-stakes investigation, which is my favorite. Everything seems tightly linked together, and I'm quite satisfied with the plot and diverse characters. The action sequences are impressive, especially the kung-fu skills of the female character. Just imagine having her as my girlfriend! :))))
Dude, this book is a masterpiece when it comes to investigation and murder cases. The author's storytelling is top-notch, unfolding the plot in such a mind-blowing way. The humor in it is a game-changer, stepping away from the typical US comedy and more into the realm Manga . I'm guessing the author might be Asian; there's this shared mindset that's hard to miss. But seriously, every twist had me on the edge. Too cool
First book I’ve read by her and I absolutely adored it!! I see why she’s referred to as the queen of plot. This book subtly introduces details that may seem insignificant initially, but they cleverly weave together, unveiling a suspenseful and gradually unfolding plot. The storytelling is excellent, creating a compelling narrative that keeps you engaged throughout. A great example of masterful storytelling!. I could not put it down for a second once it started getting into the action, and I got so attached to the characters despite it only being like aroud 200 pages. It’s got an isolated setting too, which is my favorite 😏
I've really loved this entire book . And while I've seen some murders screen here, I still have to say I had a great reading experience. It was funny and did a great job with the street food selling vender. By somewhere the destiny waves you to involve with a super star. Really love Lisa image, her vibe exactly what I find Regina George of Mean girl. However, I feels sad for her ending. Quite steamy as well, but the story is really about moving from something purely physical to a relationship that is also romantic and deeply invested in feelings. This book brings me so much joy! the cute & cheesy (in the best way) love stories, the incredible friendships, the investigation process, action, humar and comedy, and of course the BIGEST POINT, your life changing event that come with being in your late 20s!! all of their journeys are so relatable and I’ve loved seeing pieces of myself in the characters of this series. . I am so sad to say, it is stand alone book not a series.
LOVE. THESE. BOOKS. SERIOUSLY. I am obsessed with this book. And you know when your brain keeps telling you that this is ridiculous, there must be a hundred books that are written better, or a better mystery, or whatever? Well, I don't care!!! This is my ultimate guilty pleasure. I was hooked with the first one and have read the entire book thus far . And you know what? I think I fall in love with Officer Duy; he is the guy that I search for, smart and cold and sometimes shy. Look at the way he expresses his concern to Dinh makes my heart melted. And the way he uncovered the murder cases is too cool; his fight toward criminals is surprising. Oh! My man!!!!!
As a guy drowning in a sea of sci-fi, where plots often feel like they've been copy-pasted from one to another. I find this book to be highly acclaimed for its intricate investigation skills and murder cases. The author has crafted a story that unfolds in an excellent and astonishing way, with a natural flow. The humor element in the book introduces a fresh perspective, diverging from the existing mainstream comedy in the USA and aligning more with the engaging humor found in Japanese manga, reminiscent of some aspects of ONE PIECE. I can't help but wonder if the author is from Asia, as there seems to be a shared mindset. Regardless, the story had me hanging on its every twist. Cool.
I want to rate 4.5 star but there is no button :)), anyway 4 star is justice for the author become improved. What I can say about this book is its very well crafted characters, enven to the very supporting character, say, a begger, could lead the story to, heart-pounding twists and turns . This book doesn't just tell a story; it immerses you in a whirlwind of intense emotions. From the highs of joy to the depths of sorrow, every page resonates with a satisfying intensity. It's not just a read; it's an emotional journey that has firmly secured its place as my all-time favorite.
'I couldn't put this book down! The thrilling action sequences kept me on the edge of my seat, and the intricate investigation plot had me guessing until the very end. The author masterfully blended suspense and detective work, creating a page-turner that had me hooked from start to finish. The characters were well-developed, and the pacing was spot-on. If you love heart-pounding action and clever investigations, this book is a must-read'
Let me warn you about Officer Duy. He made me relate to the main male character that Huyn Bin played in Kim Sam Soon. HE got exactly Huyn Bin's character_Jin-heon' vibe. That draws me crazily. Hooked so deeppp!!!!!. He's the kind of guy who's sarcastic and witty and perpetually amused and who is actually the tiniest cinnamon roll on the planet. Also, his action is dangerously great, and he also has a Sherlock Holmes’ brain.
Officer Duy is the epitome of cool. He GOT ME in his fan club, who with a sharp mind and striking good looks. His detective skills are top-notch; I'm still in awe of how he effortlessly analyzed a document during a tedious investigation. That attention to detail is pure gold, showcasing his exceptional investigative prowess. And let's not forget, he's not just skilled in solving crimes; he's apparently great in bed too. Talk about the full package!
Since I started this book, Officer Duy is only my MR. RIGHT, He has the epitome of cool, with a sharp mind and striking good looks. JU VU makes writing look easy. Her prose is easy to read out loud, very smooth. Although the world she has created is magical, it isn't confusing or difficult to imagine, unlike Boris and the disgusting parrot, what's its name, Hogward, Hoghut somekind, it is even stinkier than its owner, the leader of Sea Serpent Gang.
The best analysis of what happens to people who grow up in a remote area I have ever read. It features very well what life looks like in Vietnam. I mean, I want to travel the country, and reading the book gives me exactly the lifestyle of the people here, their thoughts, their way of life, and their actions sound totally strange to me but really inviting.
I waited a week to read this book because I couldn't imagine enjoying a story about a young girl and her adventures in the city. I thought it might be too ordinary and juvenile for my taste. I was wrong. I can honestly say that I loved every minute of this. It's a spectacular little gambol with funny, courageous, and endearing characters that you can't help but love.
This is the first YA book I've read that has a strong familial focus, and I absolutely loved it with all my heart. The bond between Dinh and her grandpa is amazing, and I could relate so much to different aspects of Dinh. I saw myself in them, and that's always an amazing feeling. ALSO, THEY ARE Vietnamese; I am half Vietnamese.
Bro, this book is a ride – intricate investigation, murder mysteries, and a story that unfolds like a boss. The humor in it is a game-changer, stepping away from the usual US comedy and diving into new perspective of its real. I dunno what called, let me find the word for you later, but it is so investing.!!!!!!!!
Holy smokes, this book is a gem with its killer investigation skills and murder plots. The author's storytelling is on a whole new level, unfolding the narrative in a way that kept me glued. The humor? Man, it's a different breed of familiar form of what mainstream in USA, new dish, new discovered, satisfying . And those twists? Too cool for words!
I'm learning English, and the story set in Vietnam, which is similar to Korea. I find it easy to predict the meanings of words. Cool. The rich descriptive language significantly boosts my English learning. Thanks, JU Vu. What's more, of course, the interesting plot and the high pace of this book totally got me on its cliff.
As someone learning English, the Vietnamese setting of the story, where I come from, provides a cool and understandable context for predicting word meanings. The rich descriptive language is a valuable asset for language learning. Many thanks to JU Vu! The engaging plot and high-speed narrative had me captivated from beginning to end, LOVE HER!
As someone learning English, the Vietnamese setting of the story, similar to China, Korea or Japan, provides a cool and understandable context for predicting word meanings. The rich descriptive language is a valuable asset for language learning. f you're sick of the plot repetition in romance fiction or the dystopian genre and want something new, this book is exactly what you should try.
My girlfriend gave me this book, and I picked it up when I needed something to kill time, you know. Surprisingly, I found myself almost at the end. The level of engagement here is quite high, the plot is not overly intricate but unfolds super naturally and in unexpected ways. The banter between the characters is quite funny. All of them have made me a fan of hers
Here it is. The book that wrecked me to my core. I thought was hard to beat. But I have a Vietnamese family so this one hit very close. Her story telling and description of war though I think completely changed me.
It was definitely a good read. I couldn’t figure out who it was. And it still surprised me.This is kind of a romantic relationship cleverly woven into a high-stakes investigation and action stuff narrative. Cool!
Jesus ensues at every turn: pranks, adventures, fence painting, and murder. An innocent novel, an immortal classic. I just wish there was more of Dinh and Duy. I want to ask you guys, Vietnamese, does “duynh doang’ indicate an explosion? If it does, Dinh's full name predicts her life. 😊))
