"This story is a must read for all who venture into the great outdoors and contains several stories within the story. It not only is a riveting story, it is instructive and inspiring".

" As a Search and Rescue professional, I have always been interested in the personal story of the survivors of distress situations. The Alaskan Wilderness provides for great adventure and great danger. The sudden turn of events that put these experienced outdoorsmen in survival mode, provides a fascinating insight into Joe Albea's personal survival experience."

Paul Webb

Search and Rescue Specialist, U.S. Coast Guard (Retired)

On September 18, 1989, a seasoned outdoor producer/cinematographer and a hunting party became stranded in the middle of frigid Sandy Lake-about 500 miles southwest of Anchorage, Alaska-after their boat capsized.

A mountain wave was to blame.

"Mountain Wave" is a story about the triumph of the human spirit when thrust into inconceivable circumstances.

What an incredible tale. Joe and Nate do an incredible job transporting you to Alaska, trudging through the tundra on a hunting expedition only for a freak disaster to hit. The level of detail pulls you in and makes you almost feel like you’re right along with the crew on that September 1989 day (almost - I wasn’t nearly as cold as any of them were).

I highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys reading about the outdoors and man’s trials in nature.

It was interesting

Hard for me to remember who was who since the names were very basic

I would have preferred to be in first person 😉
