In the shadows of the convent, safety was once my constant companion, until Pax Bouchard shattered that sanctuary. His obsession knows no bounds; he hungers for my blood, my flesh, seeking an unholy union of our souls, and he'll spare no wicked act to make me his.
Pax killed his own father, the man responsible for the loss of my papa. I shouldn’t be grateful, but I am. His allure is intoxicating, his interests deadly, and my very essence ignites in his presence. But how can I reconcile this forbidden attraction with the vows I've sworn to uphold?
He wants my soul, every fragment of my being. I want to hate him for his wickedness and yet, I owe him. I understand him. Can I save him before he destroys me?
*Vow to Sever is a Dark Romance book with graphic themes that may be upsetting to some viewers. Please check the content warning in the beginning of the book. This is book two in a series of interconnected standalones and can be read on its own, however if you would like more details check out the rest of the series!*
What to expect: No cheating, no “real” owd, hea, no pregnancy, noncon, dubcon, murder, kidnapping, 🔪&🩸, heavy on the religious aspects.
Likes -writing style -the overlap of scenes from the first book -pad & shane bants -pax’s obsession at the start and Magdas thoughts on him -pax is the fun psycho which is my favourite (would have liked a bit more cinnamon roll from him though since he was sooo obsessed with her) -didn’t see the twists coming -loved the little things he did to show her loved and cared for her even if he didn’t understand why he was doing them
Dislikes -how Pax went from being in love with her in his own way at the start “this may not be the real love that people write songs about, but it’s the best I’ve ever gotten so I don’t plan to let go.” to panicking when he realises that he loves her at the end and running away -the religion aspect is heavy which I get since she’s a nun but her faith never wavers even when she finds out her whole life is a lie. I would have liked it more if she stopped being so devout and just gave herself fully to Pax in the end. “your soul is mine, tell me your soul is mine.” “Pax, it’s not yours. You know it’s not yours.” -pax says he doesn’t like bullies but then bullies her for most of the book “I may be a murderer and a generally terrible person, but if there’s one thing I hate it’s a bully.” -his apology for everything at the end came way too suddenly and it would have been better to have been drip fed some of the reasons for his trauma throughout the book rather than the shovel full we get fed at the end. -I got kinda bored with all the politics of the crime families and the religious stuff -the epilogue just made me sad that they still weren’t fully together. He’s still trying to earn her soul and she’s still not letting up on the god stuff
I’m excited and also kinda nervous for Nikolais book since he sounds like an asshole and I don’t want to read an entire book of him just being mean to the fmc. But I will read it because I do enjoy this authors work!
Well this was...something. Pax was completely unhinged. Naturally. And Magdalena has a different side to her. Religion isn't really something i tend to gravitate to with reading, but aurelia nailed this book. It's dark...its questionable but it's an addicting read.
2.5 stars I really enjoyed the first book in this series. This one was, unfortunately, a miss for me.
The beginning felt very slow and there was too much time spent in both Pax and Magdalena’s head. I appreciate insight into characters thoughts but I was bored with all the internal dialogues.
Ultimately Pax wasn’t an enjoyable H. I prefer villains and anti-heroes but Pax’s brand of unhinged just put me off. His punishments were cringy and his desire to hurt h made me dislike him. It made him seem pathetically weak with his fragility.
The h started out mildly interesting but the H turned her into a battered woman and then it was tedious reading her parts. She was legit afraid of him and I’m not sure why I was supposed to find that appealing.
Safety - after meeting h he no longer has any interest in OW but he purposely hurts h trying to make her jealous on numerous occasions. (It works she’s both hurt and jealous). That was kind of the final straw with him for me even though he never touched OW, pathetic H’s using OW to purposely hurt OT push away H is an unforgivable offense to me.

I have mixed feelings about this one. This is the second book in this series and can be read as a stand-alone but after this I will definitely be going back to read the first one as well because I did really like this!
To start off with there was so much of this that I really liked! The premise? 👩🍳 😘 🤌🏻🤌🏻 what’s not to love about a psychopath falling in love with a nun!!
I really liked the beginning of this! I loved how absolutely mentally unstable pax was! I loved watching his interest turn into full blown obsession with the heroine. I loved how crazy and kinda spooky he was I loved how he watched her and snuck into her room while she was sleeping, and I loved how just absolutely crazed and obsessed the hero was with the heroine. I also really enjoyed how different the main characters were while still sharing a few dark things in common. I liked how innocent the heroine was while still being quite strong in her own way and to top it off The sexy times between these 2 were 🔥 😮💨 (tho I wish there was more actual intimate scenes where the two feel something besides lust I wanted the smexy times to mean something or change something between the 2 but it never really amounted to anything other than sated lust) The writing was great and the other thing that I really appreciated was that this heroine did fight back against her abduction, which seems to be really hard to find in these sort of kidnapping romance tropes!
With all these positives I still found a few things that I didn’t necessarily enjoy as much as I wanted to and one of those things was the hero, as much as I like certain characteristics about him some stuff just annoyed me, for one he just seemed sort of…. Idk is childish the right word? He would throw tantrums and get mad over things that I didn’t really even understand why he was mad about and he sort of just did things without a care in the world, like he wouldn’t think things through about anything he did before he did them and when it turned out not to go his way afterwards he would throw tantrums. I also didn’t care for how mean the hero was, I mean I expected the non con and his violent streaks and the blood, and all the good stuff with a dark romance and those aspects of the book I thought were done really well but I picked this up expecting a cinnamon roll psychopath for a hero and while he was kind of that where he did only have a soft spot for the heroine he was still kinda mean to her and not in like a hot way. (He definitely was no where near as mean as he could have been being who he is but still) He would call her stupid and blind and tell her her existence was meaningless (tho he thought everyone’s existence was meaningless but still) and he would do things to her to actually hurt her feelings and break her heart just to watch her crumble and honestly I ended up just feeling…. Idk bad for her? I felt sorry for her a lot of the time especially when he broke her heart after breaking her entire life apart, I just sort of saw him in a different light after that and unlike the heroine I wasn’t desperate for him to come back to her because she was lonely or bored or horny, I was just disappointed. And I also really hated the silent treatment he gave her (another childish thing) in the last 30 ish percent of the book where he ignored her for 2 weeks to make her want him to make her desperate for any morsel of anything from him bad or good and he would just bang her without saying anything and then ignore her again, that really pissed me off especially cuz the heroine never fought it like she just kinda laid there and let it happen. I didn’t feel like the hero had very much character growth with in this I mean I didn’t want him to suddenly not be a murdering psycho anymore but I did want him to atleast want to see the heroine happy or smile at him, or show him any other emotion other than sadness. Which brings me to another reason I felt bad for our heroine was she literally never smiled or laughed or showed any sort of emotion other than misery, she was constantly crying like nearly every chapter. I’m not even exaggerating when I say she didn’t smile or even chuckle until the last like 5-10 pages of the entire book. She was just constantly in a state of either hating herself or hating him.
Overall I really did enjoy this book there was a lot of it that I really loved but the few things I didn’t care so much for stopped me from giving this the full 5 stars I hoped to give it when I picked it up. I really like the writing and how easily the story flowed and I will definitely be picking up the first one in the series! Check your trigger warnings and happy reading!
Mans was absolutely unhinged even had me questioning does he even like the FMC. Enjoyed every second of it, definitely check TW before picking this up. Cannot wait for Nikolai book to come out, seems like the family is getting even more deranged with each book.
I have to say I have no idea who told me about this book but I have a love hate relationship with them because it's almost the end of the year and I have to now read all of Aurelia's books before the end of 2023. This book was absolutely insane. This man was doing things I haven't read in books, he put his blood where to do what?! I loved every second of it. I messed up reading this, the second book, first and im not mad about it because Pax will now always be my number one. No one can touch him so far (I am in the middle of the first one still but I said what I said) I literally hunted down the author on every form of social media so I can stay up to date with what she's doing because I'm addicted. So thanks to whoever recommended this, it is my new hyperfixation for the month or longer
didnt know i needed a anti hero×nun trope 🔥🔥❤️ He is absolutely deranged and a proper psychopath and i LOVEDDDD it. he is a nastyyyy man.
This idiot was literally trying to carve his heart out when he fell in love with her 💀💀
Plus i also liked her character growth. Initially, i hated her EXTRA naive-ness but ig she grew on me, especially in the end when she was putting him in his place hehe.
I think the 🌶️ could have been more, atleast in the end maybe :/
This was a pallete cleanser for me after reading the syndicate so i really enjoyed how fast paced it was.
However, this trope would have been even more 🔥 if it was a slow burn.
I can fix him” part. älskar också att han är så störd att han literally tries to CARVE his heart out because he’s in love. now thats devotion. i’ll give him that much.
Oh man I love an unhinged MMC, if your looking for a spicy dark romance with an obsessed male lead look no further! I loved the first book in the series I can’t wait for the next one!! Pax is so hotttt 🫠🫠🫠
Vow to sever by Aurelia knight was a journey to know the difference between evil and true evil, yeah I know I sound absurd but it's like the difference between morally dark grey and black. Our MMC Pax is affiliated to mafia,he doesn't really care if the person he has unalived is innocent or a sinner. He just likes to unalive people. Our FMC Magda is however a nun and likes to believe the best of people, but don't misintrept her as a person who thinks her abuser is right, she knows the abuser is worng but still prays after their death as a general show of empathy. She is a nice nun but she doesn't see the world in only black or white. The book was good overall but I kept comparing it to the first book in this series and I have to say that I was disappointed.First of all the only world I can use to describe Pax is stupid, plain simple stupid, you can find more about it in chapter 33.However I really liked Magda on the other hand, she was strong spirited, smart , brave and knew what she wanted, it's hard to find an intelligent FMC in a dark romance book tbh,but Magda was actually one of the characters I actually liked however I am truly disappointed by the epilogue this book does end with an hea but I didn't really like the epilogue and also there wasn't any big ending, let me elaborate that later with the spoilers . Moving on,the mystery I talked about in my first book's review(link below 👇)was Mattie's story that and the little rift between Shane and Pax was also explained. Overall I liked the book but I had great expectations for this one and they weren't full filled ,even the story wasn't that much intesting.I liked the writing style but I think that and Magda were the only thing keeping the story afloat.
The book was filled with mystery and many questions as who the real villan was who was behind all of the stuff that was happening,First of all I was truly disappointed with the choice of villan after all that build up that puny little thing is the villan and there wasn't even a big fight,a big reveal yes but not a big ending.
Read Book 1, and even though the story wasn't perfect, it was a fun wild ride. I liked the twists and turns, and the writing was good. I couldn't wait for Book 2 because I figured it would be a quick-pace, fun ride. I got it without even reading the blurb.
The writing was great. The story development was meh.
The MMC here just didn’t steal the show. His introduction was so enticing. I was pumped to see how he would evolve as a character. Unfortunately, his evolution was on track for a typical dark romance baddie as a pysch0p@th who can kind of reform for love, but for 90% of the story, he's a brat. He acts like a child. He does things with little actual thought. I love my MMCs to be more methodical and machiavellian. He reminds me of a puppy with pysch0 tendencies.
The FMC has an intriguing backstory, but you won't "solve" it or get to the nitty gritty of it until 95% of the book. I can see where the author was going with the characterization, but she falls a little flat as a read.
As a couple, they don't really make movement through an intimacy buildup. Their relationship reads as juvenile a little bit. The FMC is mid 20s, and the MMC is 30ish, but they don't come across that way. Their romance felt stagnant, and the story could be chopped in half, and the same story beats would happen. The best part of the novel is the first 30%. Then I started to realize we weren't going to get a lot of movement in the narrative.
Cool mysterious 💣s are dropped, but they are story notes left dangling until 90-98% of the story.
The smex was ok. It wasn't k!nks I particularly love seeing or care to see, so for me, the smex didn't slap, but I'm sure it tickles someone else's fancy.
Overall the book was disappointing and even a little bland. 😕
Honestly it’s pretty intense and fun to read… but PAX didn’t grovel nearly enough for what he put Magda through. And because of her forgiving him too soon, she seems like a bit of a doormat which completely ruined the streak of darkness inside of her that the whole book is trying to hint at.
Which in turn implies, by the end that that streak of darkness only exists for PAX which sucks because this further reinforces that she only exists for him even though he treats her badly at times.
📍 safe, no cheating, no OW (she is a v. He is not), no man-wh*re
There are mentions of Pax’s ex Mattie who was Pax’s nanny and his first 🔪 🩸
Pax makes her think he screwed another woman (he took pictures of OW while she was sleeping). He comes clean pretty soon, the whole “miscommunication” lasts like one page-ish. However, in the end she learns he was willing to hurt her emotionally just to prove to himself and her that she doesn’t matter. And then this is never resolved. Pax wants to hurt her emotionally for his own needs and it feels like the book ended with him having an epiphany of how he is in love with her and needs to put her first, but we never see him do this.
Honestly the whole book depressed me because I don’t mind angst so long as it is resolved meaningfully. These two were wishy-washy about their feeling till 80% of the book. Also what is with Pax leaving her alone during the day about? Why is that even happening if it is never even mentioned. More psychological torture of the h by Pax that is never resolved (apart from one apology from him).
And the whole scene with making Magda think he slept with OW…. Ew…. No.

what in god's name was this? if the first book was unhinged, there aren't even words to describe this one. it bordered on camp at times. a sacrilegious and blasphemous nun romance. i did love the chapter titles and desecration of religion, tainting catholic rituals as a metaphor for the love of a psychopath. not taking anything away from the entertainment this provide, the story lost itself at times in favor of shock value and plot twists. and once again, the ending left a lot to be desired.
When Magda attends the funeral of the man who killed her father, she never expected to be at the mercy of his son. With her soul bound to god and awaiting to take her vows, Pax sees nothing but competition and a little nun to corrupt. And corrupt he does, but will he ever have her soul?
When I tell you I ate this up. I couldn’t get enough, if there’s one thing me and Pax have in common it’s the obsessive tendencies and this book? I’m obsessed. Tell me how Aurelia writes the darkest moment of wholesome content and has you in this chokehold of ‘ew’ and ‘Aw’…Pax is so unhinged and chaotic, he is quite literally a shelter puppy that was never loved properly.
The dynamic between Magda and Pax is unforgettable and honestly I’m still reeling from them. Whilst Magda wants to believe she is worthy of her place within the convent and as a nun, she is tempted by sin and the most tempting sin of them all is a green eyed devil whose on a strangling kick at the moment. And her reluctance and fight, make those moments of falling victim to the temptation so much sweeter.
This book really had the perfect balance between World building, character development, plot and spice. My god the spice. Imagine how unhinged you have to be to corrupt a nun and then imagine how hot the sex would be in that scenario… chefs kiss. And because it falls in the same timeline as Mind To Bend the perfectly simultaneous timelines complement one another perfectly and give us more insight to Shane and Pax relationship. Followed by some amazing plot that dropped the twists and turns that really bought the book together.
I genuinely really loved this book, I fell in love with Pax, he made me laugh at the weirdest times. Honestly Aurelia Knight doesn’t miss and Vow To Sever is no different, Pax is my new overall favourite book boyfriend. If you haven’t read it yet, read it. You won’t regret it.
Vow To Sever ( Stolen Obsessions Book #2) Well I really was just taken on the ride of my life and completely blown away in all the best ways . Vow To Sever was truly like being on the wildest ride at the amusement park - making me feel like I didn’t know which way was up and which way was down . It was everything just everything, an emotional rollercoaster that plays on all your emotions in ways you won’t even be expecting. You’ll experience everything from being utterly speechless, to yelling outta pure frustration. Your heart will feel like it’s beating so fast and then bam being crushed the next , you’ll be glued to the edge of your seat anticipating what will happen . And you’ll find yourself rooting so freaking hard . I was pulled right into Pax and Magdalena’s love story like a moth to a flame , devouring every single word to the point I lost track of time and ended up reading well into the early morning hours . Fighting to keep my eyes open , but of course there was no way I was going to sleep until I knew how it all turned out . Intrigue and suspense, dark , raw , gritty and very emotional, twists and turns, secrets , revelations, tragedy, obstacles, off the charts chemistry, love , passion, pain , knife play , stalker romance, dubious consent , anti hero’s who are alphas in every way - obsessive , jealous and possessive, a kick@@s female heroine , family , friendships and so much more . Truth be told there just are not any perfect words to do this story enough justice . The best advice I can give is to run as fast as you can download it right away and experience all its perfection for yourself. AURELIA KNIGHT never fails to exceed all my expectations every time I pick up one of her books . Vow To Sever is a must read , Chefs kiss , a 10/10 💜
Get Ready!! This book hooked me in from the first chapter. I spent most of the book on the edge of my seat, because I had no clue what was coming next. This book was full of emotions, suspense, lots of crazy and some delicious steam. We also got a few revelations in the end, some of which surprised me. I liked both Magdalena and Pax. He was probably my favorite. I just can't get enough of j/p MMC. Pax is definitely unhinged and I'm not quite sure I ever truly figured him out. (We are given some insight on him) So, I decided maybe I'm not supposed to. Instead, I just fell in love with his crazy *ss. I think both characters changed or grew a little, even if only for each. Ultimately, I think they remained true to who they were though. Their chemistry was undeniable. While, toxic at times, they also fit together perfectly. I thought the ending was satisfying and overall I really enjoyed Magdalena and Pax's story.
I am OBSESSED with this book!!!! Pax and Magdalena have completely captivated me.
Magdalena has been living at a convent for the majority of her life, after the murder of her father. She is training to become a nun and has to attend the funeral of Alexandre Bouchard, the man who murdered her father.
Pax Bouchard is the youngest son and murderer of Alexandre Bouchard. While at his father’s funeral Pax locks eyes with Magda and in that moment he becomes utterly obsessed either her. Pax is possessive, obsessed and completely unhinged. He sees a kindred soul in Madga, sees that she is just as corrupted as he is.
⚠️⚠️ Check Trigger Warnings⚠️⚠️
This is a very dark and intensely delicious story, but is not for the faint of heart. So please check all trigger warnings ! If you’ve never met a trigger warning that’s turned you off then PLEASE jump into this story.
I really enjoyed this read but it is definitely a different vibe than the first book was.
By no means is this a bad critique but if you’re expecting a similar vibe then this isn’t it. It took me about 13% of the book to finally begin to truly enjoy but once I was sucked in, I couldn’t stop.
Pax is definitely an interesting character and clearly deranged. Magda definitely had no choice but to make best with the cards she was dealt with but I think in the end, it’s not too bad.
There’s definitely a lot of word play in this book that I found myself needing to read a sentence twice to make sure I understood what was being said but it also beautifully written in the ways the characters described their surrounding and feelings.
The twist and turns were somewhat unexpected but not totally unpredictable. I really did enjoy the small snippets that the author provided us with the characters from book one.
I read some other reviews for this, and I don't really agree with what they're saying. I'm going to do my best without spoilers.
"There's too much religious talk." She's literally a nun and has been since she was 14. Why do you think her beliefs would just jump out the window when she finds out about her family and such?
"Pax is just too unhinged, and it's gross." He was abused as a child and into adulthood. He's been surrounded by the mob and death his entire life, and his mother was institutionalized. Needless to say, OF COURSE he's unstable. Do I think he should have treated Magda the way he did? No. Do I understand his trauma played a huge role in how he acted with her? Yes. Also, I absolutely loved the banter between Pax and Shane.
I do wish I found out what happened with Magda after she found out about her family. I love how strong and independent she is. I also like that the possibility of getting pregnant was acknowledged, which is usually glossed over in books like this.
Anywho, in case you can't tell, I loved Pax and Magda, and I can't wait for the next book!
I was prepared for sacrilegious shit as it was mentioned in the trigger list what I wasn't prepared for is for it to be shoved down my throat at every turn from the first book till this one this author is clearly opinionated about Christianity in general and can't seem to help but shove her bias down our throat starting from book 1! I purely finished it because I had to. The first book is redeemable this one was just abusive sacrilegious trash there's no love at all despite how hard the author wanted to pass it of as love and pax is so petty when it comes to that house it was terrible it's like he didn't even plan for contingencies like his bro might show up coupled with the fact that he actually wanted to off him for disrupting his plans was stupid like if you're thaaat stinking rich just make some alternate arrangements dude 🙄, he was an immature, abusive & spoilt brat who is used to throwing his temper tantrums. Shane seemed mature and is clearly the better brother.

Tropes: ~Dubcon/CNC/St@lk!ng/K!dn@pping ~V!rg1n ~Bl00d, breath, kn!f3 play; rough b0nd@g3 & impact play ~Serial Killer bad boy; nun ~Marking each other
I knew Pax's story with his Snapdragon was going to be a whole 'nother level especially when Shane was describing him as more extreme in his own story.
I do love the unconventional bringing together of the characters & Pax being just as confused & angry about having the feelings he is having.
Definitely READ the TRIGGERS. lol I usually don't but I would recommend for those not usually into dark romance, b/c even though this is shorter, it goes 0 to 60 in dark desires & that very fine line of consent, sadism/masochism.
Definitely worth the read & going in the favorites section of my books. I'm usually not into shorter novels, but this is a very spicy read and makes you feel all the things, many which you're unsure about it or possibly even against. ;P
Maggie was left at the convent when she was 14. Now at 24 she is on a path to become a nun. She only has to make her final vows. Pax saw her at his father (he killed him btw) funeral, and became obsessed. He just had to corrupt the little nun. And then he saw another nun bully her, so he had to protect her, and kill her. And Maggie? Well, she through the body down a ravine. Guess the little nun is already a little sinner 🤫
This book was crazy incomplete. We just have things thrown at us, and no conclusion. There’s a bigger plot, but is brushed under the table. The book focus a lot on their relationship, and everything else is barely mentioned. Like the corrupt priest, the reason behind keeping her, was stupid and anti-climatic. This story could have been so good. But it was a complete miss. Yes the tropes are unique (a nun and a serial killer? Hello!!), but the book is meh.
Happy Readings 🤍

To say I was excited for this book would be an understatement. Since reading Mind to Bend when it first came out and meeting Pax in that book I have highly anticipating this book sever since I was reading that one. AND AURELIA DIDN’T DISAPPOINT!! Pax is the crazy obsessive/possessive MMC we all knew he was going to be. And to have an FMC who was taken into a convent and lived there and basically lived out here whole teanage years there was perfect. I would recommend looking into the TW before reading this as there could be some content that some might find upsetting Pax is not morally grey…he is straight up not a good guy! So if you don’t mind the religious aspect of this book and love your men morally black and not grey then Pax is going to be a new favorite!! I absolutely can’t wait for Nikolai’s book next… It will be one of my next highly anticipated dark romance reads!!
Aurelia Knight has done it again and DID NOT DISAPPOINT.
Pax is one obsessive/possessive man completely unhinged and he wants to own every part of Magda his little nun who has caught his attention. Pax is so chaotic, unpredictable and yet so HOT 🥵. The dynamic between Pax and Magda is unbelievable leaving you reeling even when finished reading.
There is also a bit of timeline crossover from Mind to Bend where Shane makes an appearance you get a little bit of an insight into the relationship between Pax and Shane.
I absolutely loved this book I was hooked from the start. I can’t wait to read Nikolai’s book.
This book was so good and so messed up I’m so many ways and I was here for it ever step of the way. The obsession Pax had for Magda from the moment he met eyes with her at his father funeral. Pax reminded me of a kid in a candy shop on every time he thinks of or is around Magda. This story had pieces that broke my heart, the way that Magda felt as though their was no one in her corner, no one that loved her. Until she met Pax, even when he refused to accept his love for her. She still felt it through every step of the story. Every bit of the push and pull added up to the ending they both needed. The book had an amazing balance between the good and evil in the world. Aurelia Knight doesn’t miss and Vow to Sever is no different. If you haven’t read this series yet it is definitely worth the read! And it’ll be available on KU on Nov 1st🤩
