Escape to a pretty little village in the mountains where jasmine scents the evening breeze and Christmas is in the air… and perhaps love as well. Josie Porter loves her little café in the Blue Mountains and the life she’s built for herself in the tight-knit community. She’s happily single until she unexpectedly finds herself in the arms of a handsome stranger who steps in to help when she takes a tumble. When their paths keep crossing, she begins to wonder if it’s time to let love in again. That is, until she discovers who he really is and why he’s in the village. Harry Robinson has lived and worked all over the world, enjoying a successful career with few entanglements. It’s worked well for him until he finds himself in a charming village and meets the proprietor of The Gingerbread Cottage. After a wobbly start he realises that Josie could be his chance for happiness, unless his secretive business plans ruin their romance before it has a chance to begin.
I have read all the books by Susan M Smith and enjoyed each. This one is set in a location I love which makes it even more special. Susan brings the spirit of an Australian Christmas alive with its warm weather, community spirit and the scents of our beautiful Blue Mountains. Thank you to the author for this Christmas gift. Now all I need is a cafe like The Gingerbread Cafe near me and all the lovely people to share it with.
Such a lovely, well-written and well-paced book. I couldn’t put it down. I fell in love with all the characters and, of course, the setting! As I read the book it played like a movie in my head, especially as I know the area well. This HAS to become a Christmas movie! We need a good aussie Christmas movie. Such a lovely read.
This delicious novel is a must read for anyone who loves Christmas, and all the yummy food that accompanies it. Such a joyful book to read… I just couldn’t put it down. Susan is the master of writing romance and I can’t wait for her next book!
