I loved using this book alongside an Italian-English dictionary. This isn't a fluent language book that is meant to teach you every single Italian word in existence, this is just for the basics if you'd like to know the basics of the Italian language on a tourist/new immigrant level. However, I find using this book while studying with a dictionary elevates the entire experience of learning how to use basic phrases. Versus just using this book completely by itself and expecting to be fluent in Italian. I had no problem while traveling around popular and less populated areas of Italy with the Italian learned from this book and another. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get started in learning the basics so advanced levels of Italian aren't as intimidating.
Not advisable to use it as a reference nor if you want to learn the language in depth. The positive point is that is very visual, and focused mainly on the most basic vocabulary in different themes (Family, city, food, etc.) However, remains very superficial and only worth it if you are looking to get an overview of the language.
it was too short and lacked grammar explanations, but it's a perfect addition to a more formal course. I loved the fact that is a very visual and entertaining book. I'm looking forward to buying more languages from this collection 😊
