This is a well written opposites attract romance with strong characters in Chance and Poppy. The author takes you into their lives starting with friendship and chemistry to love. She moves the story quickly and smoothly and delivers an enjoyable read.

Chance walks in on his wife sucking his now ex best friend’s dick. He’s done here. The book hereafter is an awesome slowburn romance born out of being in the right place at the wrong time and ending up playing babysitter to a sassy woman called poppy after she damages her knee and can’t walk up the stairs to her apartment , his friends task him with the job and he ends up moving her in with him, one thing leads to several and they can’t get enough of each other but can it be for keeps ? Read this sublime story and find out . I loved every minute , the writing is so good, it flows ,the descriptions on point and the storytelling is relatable and realistic and fun.

One year ago Chance Hamilton was head orthopedic surgeon at Miami Hospital and team doctor for the Florida Sharks pro football team. Out of the blue, he caught Sally, his college sweetheart, the love of his life, his wife and the hottie in the PT department with his best friend.
Chance moved to Kissing Springs to be near his friends, Nash and Tobin. Former Sharks player, Nash, is now the high school football coach. Chase helps Nash with physical therapy for the team. Nash is dating Poppy's friend, Lennox. Current player, Tobin, is married to her friend, Nola. Tobin and Nola live in Kissing Springs during the off season.
Poppy Fisher left her rock star parents and moved to Kissing Springs. She's tired of living in a big city. She's opened Poppy Shots, a boudoir studio, at the rear of Tigers Den, the town's adult toy store. Her friends are giving her a 30th birthday party in her upstairs apartment. While dancing on the couch after a few too many drinks, she fell and hurt her knee.

Bourbon & Blindside is a steamy, small-town, grumpy-sunshine, opposites-attract, girl gets her hunky doctor romance. Chance is a grumpy, hunky doctor who has moved back to Kissing Springs after he found his wife cheating with his best friend. He used to work for a professional football team. Poppy is a sassy, fierce, and independent boudoir photographer. When Poppy sprains her ankle,her friends leave her in the care of Chance. He reluctantly agrees to take care of her and even lets her move in for two weeks so she doesn't have to do stairs. As the two live together, sparks begin to fly, and Poppy starts to melt Chance's walls. Will they give love a chance?? The chemistry was hot 🔥 hot 🔥 hot 🔥. I loved the verbal sparring and how Chance started to become happier as Poppy brought out the best in him. I love anything from Brittany Bell, and this was no exception. This was a great spicy romance! I also love seeing all the characters overlap from the various stories...so fun!.

This is a fast paced book, but still enjoyable. I loved Poppy and her sunshine attitude. I loved that she was so determined to make a life for herself rather than live in her famous parents’ shadow.
Chance was supposed to be the grump who had his world turned upside down when he found his wife cheating on him. He did come off as a grump to everyone but Poppy. Most of the time when he was being a “grump” he came off as a jerk instead. But he did win me over when he chose Poppy over his career.
I do wish that we would’ve gotten more backstory on most of the events with these two. I wanted to actually be able to experience their growth as a couple, but I felt like I was just being told about it. Regardless, I love Britney Bell’s stories and I can’t wait to read more.

Nice short read continuing on the Kissing Springs series. Chance is nursing his wounds from his divorce and has mutual friends with Poppy, who is as sunshiny as he is grumpy. She hurts her leg and since he is inbetween jobs, her friends volunteer him to help her out, which he is pretty grumpy about...until he isn't. Then there are some developments that threaten their future, but....you'll have to read it to find out what happens!
We also see Tobin and Nola in this story from the previous Sunshine season. Cute stories!.

Chance has been hurt previously by is cheating wife and best friend so when he meets Poppy who is a happy lady they rub each other the wrong way, however as they spend time together while Poppy recuperate from an injured ankle they bond. Good Story.

Chance and Poppy are fire pretty much from the start, and it turns out that even awesome job offers can't keep them apart. Britney really does a great job of showing her characters in a very intimate way, which helps you immerse fully in the story.

This grumpy sunshine romance is one that has just a little of everything to it. With witty banter, drama, hot and steamy scenes and passion. Chance has a chip on his shoulder weighing heavily on him and Poppy pushes his boundaries with her looks, personality and strength. A story that was entertaining and enjoyable.

Chance is an orthopedic doctor. He had a good position working with the Florida Sharks in Miami, but moved to Kissing Springs after a deep personal betrayal. Love is not on his agenda.
Poppy also moved to Kissing Springs recently, tired of the limelight she endured as the daughter of famous parents. She's celebrating her birthday with friends when she twists her knee badly. One of her friends calls Chance, figuring he'll know what to do.
Chance is pretty grumbly, annoyed that Poppy could be so careless as to get hurt like this. He's even worse when he gets stuck with taking care of her. Poppy is pretty sure she doesn't need his help, but when her doctor tells her not to do stairs, Chance takes her to his place to help her heal. They really don't get along at first, but proximity soon gets the best of them.
As Chance and Poppy get closer, Chance is faced with a decision that could throw a wrench in everything.
Is he still drawn to the life he used to have? Or has he built something better now?
Oh, the anger and frustration between them at first is obvious, but when the heat turns up, they're just as passionate. Neither of them saw it coming, but both are willing to explore the possibilities.
This was a nice, light read, and a good addition to the Kissing Springs universe.

I really hoped this one would be interesting, but it was a bit of a cliche. I didn't really like Chance's attitude towards Poppy throughout most of the book. Sure, the trope was grumpy/sunshine, but he was more of a jerk rather than a grump in the beginning. Poppy was nice enough though.
I liked the background information, but I felt it was weird that Nash just told Poppy about Chance's ex cheating on him with his best friend with that much description. Who on earth talks like that? If you're gossiping with someone, you don't talk that frankly and without emotion. Nash's description of what happened was like something you'd read rather than something you'd say out loud. For instance, “Several months ago, he moved here to Kissing Springs, after he walked away from Miami Hospital as the head of Orthopedic Surgery...The wife was blowing the best friend, he walked away and never went back. Now
he’s just grumpy and has a chip on his shoulder." This scene felt so off to me that I wondered for a moment if it was written by a completely amateur writer. As this was right in the beginning of the book when the characters are first introduced, I felt awkward the entire time and couldn't fully enjoy reading this. Was a bit disappointed with the experience.

Well, guess that solved that. They eventually start to like each other more than Chance wants to. Poppy has fallen in love with him but, she knows he has walls up. Things get very interesting when they go Florida to see his old team play and they encounter his exes, both best friend and wife. Chance thought his life was set, he was married and an orthopedic surgeon. He thought life was great until he found his wife and best friend. Now he decides to move on with his life and that life is in Kissing Springs. Poppy is a beautiful and talented photographer who takes Boudoir pictures. She loves what she does and how she can make people feel beautiful. When she goes out for her birthday and has a small incident it's Chance who takes care of her. These two buttheads drive each other nuts. But Chance won't let anyone heal on their own. But he's got a black heart and won't let anyone interfere with what he is trying to be. But the chemistry is amazing and these two will have to learn to live and navigate around one another. When they come together it's fireworks, but sometimes our pasts can come back to haunt us. It's what we do with it that makes the future brighter. Find out what happens with these two.

While celebrating her thirtieth birthday, she busted up her knee. Chance was called in, initially as a doctor, but, after being ignored, simply to assist Poppy. Nonetheless, sparks flew.
Britney Bell provided a compelling plot for this story. The scenes and settings are well-appointed. The characters have interesting background experiences. It's a good read.

So Chance now has a new life and living in Kissing Springs. When Poppy hurts her knee dancing one night, she needs help and her friends volunteer Chance. I didn't really connect with this book. I thought I'd be really into the story because I wanted to see Chance make a come back from his awful wife and the betrayal he suffered, but I didn't like the interactions with Poppy and I pushed myself through, but never really bought it. Also there were weird, abrupt transitions in the story that were jarring and seemed like there were a lot of moments where things were being told to us as the readers but there was a lack of backstory where it was like the author presumed we already knew things. Nothing major, it was all subtle, but it was just ever so slightly off the whole time for me.

We're back in Kissing Springs!!! Absolutely love the books based in this town and this one is no different. Chance and Poppy's story will have you laughing, gapping in shock and fanning yourself from the heat!!! An injury is what brings them together, but there's also a magnetic pull drawing them together too. How long before they give in to their desires and connection?... This is the second book I've read from this author and I have one more downloaded so hoping it saves the day 'cause this one missed the mark for me. I felt that the dislike that Poppy and Chance had for each other seemed like it came from nothing. The whole scene when she was hurt and he was checking on her seemed odd to me. It felt like so many pieces were missing right off the bat and the only explanation given was, he was grumpy 'cause of his wife. If I was a doctor and having to deal with a drunk girl refusing to go to the hospital after I said you should go, I would be annoyed too. Other than that I don't really feel like he redeemed his grumpiness it all felt forced to me with some holes.

This was such a lovely read. A heart warming love story with a cute HEA.
Chance got his 2nd go around at love with someone entirely opposite to his usually grumpy self.
Poppy is totally such a strong, independent woman that doesn't need anyone, until she injures her knew after one too many birthday bourbons.
I was a little disappointed that our resident boudoir photographer didn't have a spicey little shoot with her man...or maybe for him. Would have been a very welcomed addition to an otherwise fab read.

Chance ended up in Kissing Springs after he found his wife and best friend together and the following divorce. Poppy came to town, getting far away from the big city, and started a photography business. When she turns her ankle on a hike, she ends up in the care of Chance and their relationship ignites immediately. Loved the characters, their determination and openness. The storyline has drama around their friends, surprises, options, big decisions (back to the big city or not), chemistry, steam and a strong love that neither had before. It all comes together with a great ending.

This is a stand alone read in the multi-author "Kissing Springs-Bourbon Season" series. It is a fairly short and quick read about Chance and Poppy. It is a slow burn romance between a grumpy man and a ray of sunshine. Chance is an orthopedic surgeon who married his high sweetheart only to catch her with his best friend. Now he has moved on from the betrayal. Poppy has moved to town and opens a Boudoir study where she takes photos. Out celebrating her birthday she hurts herself. Chance, reluctantly helps. This is a fun story with these two clashing and sparks flying.

I liked this book but it didn't live up to previous books by the author for me. I can remember Poppy from other Kissing Springs books but not Chance, nor from the Florida Sharks. Their meeting and subsequent living together felt too forced. I liked their chemistry and the ultimate ending but I struggled with how it started.
