This is a collection of short stories written by twin non-verbal autistic young adults. These stories picture the world around them. They depict the society around them in a colourful myriad of words. People come here in all their strengths and weaknesses. They love, they hate, they sacrifice and take revenge.
There are 34 short stories in the book. Ahan has written 29 of them while his brother Srijan has written 5 stories. They are stories of varying length. Some are very small of about 100 words or more. Others are rather large crossing 1000 words.
These stories carry many characters. They are teenage boys and girls, young boys and girls in colleges and universities, elderly men and women. They are students, teachers, stock brokers, doctors, authors, CID officers and so on. There are many aspects of life depicted in the stories.
There are stories of school boys and girls facing envy, jealousy, friendship, attraction and love. There are stories of romanticism, relationship and revenge of college and university students. There are past reminiscence of elderly people.
In one story (Silly) Sraddha comes into face of her long forgotten childhood crash. In Heir, a polyamory lady is uncertain about the father of her child.
Many times in these stories flashback and pondering in isolation gives way to a new type of thinking. In Immersion, a stock broker realizes an unpleasant truth of his past while pondering in isolation. In Avenge, turning the page of her diary, a housewife realizes the true meaning of the present.
In these stories the real world is mirrored in a typology of flashes and emotions radiating human pathos. I think they might attract the ears of a wide audience.

"Pious Role" is an anthology of short stories, a collaborative effort between non-verbal autistic young adults, Ahan and Srijan Sengupta. The collection weaves together 34 captivating narratives that depict the multifaceted nature of society.

Among all the stories I like 'Gentleness.' This poignant story centers around Pilu, a boy deemed as "good for nothing" by his family and peers, overshadowed by the affection showered upon his twin sister, Nilu. The authors skillfully articulate the struggles of a boy starved of love and support, presenting a realistic portrayal that struck a chord and fostered a genuine connection with the narrative.

I liked the diversity within each story. Despite covering different facets of life, every narrative manages to convey a profound and unique message. The richness of the tapestry the authors paint is truly commendable, creating a literary mosaic that captures the complexities of the world around them.

The beauty of "Pious Role" lies in its ability to transcend the limitations of verbal expression, showcasing the authors' talent in conveying intricate emotions and experiences. The collection, with its varied hues, offers readers a kaleidoscopic view of life, each story contributing a different shade to the overall narrative.

Overall, "Pious Role" it's a crafted book that transcends the boundaries of communication, inviting readers to explore the intricacies of life through the lens of two remarkable young authors.

The characters within these stories add to the overall narrative and span the spectrum of age and occupation, including teenage boys and girls, college students, elderly individuals, teachers, stock brokers, doctors, authors, and even CID officers. 🌪️ PIOUS ROLE 🌪️
By Ahan Sengupta, Srijan Sengupta

🖊️A collection of short stories by Ahan & Srijan. They are good, They are REALLY good. This may be their best collections. Clearly an exception to the mixed bag rule, nearly all of the stories being good or better, noting “The Good” ones may even feel excellent for others.

🖊️How could I not love this book? Shortly after reading Ahan's complete stories as a teenager, my family was transferred to chennai south India. Because of Corona, I ended up staying in the house for more days. If I had found this book at that time, i would have Pulled it out and read it in the very space where I had suffered through depression and anxiety was exhilarating. While I realized the morbid nature of my glee, it somehow seemed appropriate as I lay awake at nights praying to hear that telltale ticking.

🖊️As an adult, I have come to realize that my love of Srijan's short five little stories comes from the fact that he focuses not on the modern fact, but rather on the indelicacy of human potential. I sometimes think of him as the J.D.Salinger.

🖊️There are many short stories which i claim as my favourites Heir, Human Values, Lollypop, Hope, Silly, Moonlight and Little Dream were my favourites.

🖊️Overall I really like almost all of these short stories. I would definitely recommend this to all age groups.

Interesting novel

My take on this book is no different from others. It offers a variety of unique stories that are loaded up with emotions, joys, sorrows and sentiments. This novel is divided into two sections by two authors. And both have done an incredible part in laying down fresh new plot lines. I appreciate all the stories. But I would like to mention one that really effected me a lot. " Gentleness "by Ahan Sengupta. It's a simple yet touching story of two siblings. Pilu and Nilu. Both were born together in a good family. Pilu was six minutes older than his sister Nilu. Pilu was very gentle. He also stayed calm and quiet even if something wrong was done to him. He never protested, never raised his voice against anything, anyone, nor even his sister, who always excelled. Facing challenges in his life, from his sister being given entire property, to his being left alone with his mother, including financial crunches, everything looked sad. But we have a turning point in this story too with the entry of sri.. Now to know what that is, readers have to grab their copies. Well, narrated persuasive stories that are even interesting to read.

A collection of short stories falling into the category of contemporary fiction, this book contains contents written by two authors.
The short stories are mostly characteristics of expressing emotions, hurt, failure, love, success and any such minute theme one can think of.
However, the only thing worth interpreting in this book is that it presents human characteristics. This book felt just like an acquaintance to me as if I am being introduced to people just by knowing how they behave in certain situations.
The stories are all about presenting basic human characteristics or, again, behaviour, as I can infer from it. As for the writing style, I didn't find it very impressive as compared to how it could be.
The stories are modest and it seems like their sole purpose was to send some message to the audience, and that they surely did. However, the subtle sense of stories did need a better writing style in order to make a considerable imprint on the readers.

PIOUS ROLE is a delightful compilation of short stories that skillfully captures the essence of human experience in its many form. This books presents a diversity of characters and situations, providing readers different journeys in one book.

The characters in each story are well-drawn and relatable, despite the limited space for development. The authors skillfully imbue their creations with distinct personalities, making it easy for readers to connect with and invest in their journeys. The concise storytelling style contributes to a sense of immediacy, pulling readers into the heart of each narrative from the very first sentence.

However, some stories within the anthology may leave readers craving more, as the brevity of the format sometimes restricts the exploration of certain themes. While the succinctness is a strength, a few tales feel like tantalizing glimpses into worlds that could have been further enriched with additional pages.
