I really enjoyed this! It was cute and charming. I'm not sure that I'm going to be a fan of the love triangle, but I'm definitely intrigued enough to continue the series.
Okay, lol, I wasn't prepared for a love triangle—BUT THIS WAS HONESTLY GOOD, AND I LOVE BOTH GUYS AND EVERYTHING IS CUTE AND PRETTY. I'm squealing for real! But I dunno, I still feel a bit wary over Seno. It just doesn't vibe right. I swear, I'd really hate it if it turns out his past storyline is not accurate, and he's lying.
definitely a lighthearted romance, i'm low key digging all the love triangles lol (square??? iono). feels pretty simple but fun, the art style is really pretty too. i also kind of liked how you weren't sure how things were going to go with seno and it kept switching up.
5⭐️ Okay please tell me why this is literally one of the CUTEST mangas I’ve ever read?! The characters are so loveable! Iori-San is literally perfection I love him, I cannot wait to read the second one!!! (Also the cover is beautiful)
No. situazioni imprevedibili? Nemmeno. L'ho dovuto leggere d'un fiato come se ne andasse della mia stessa vita? Assolutamente si.
quick reread (second time). the artstyle is beautiful and the plot in the first volume is okay. I like the dynamics between the FL & ML. Sometimes it's a bit cheesy but it's a good read for when you're looking for something entertaining, light hearted and good plot
Ahhhh it is so cuuuuute. Also the chemistry between the main two is amazing, but of course we have the classic love triangle *sigh* I'm curious how this will play out.
rereading the series again that it has an official English translation and if there's one thing Anashin is great at, it's creating the most pathetic but lovable 2nd male leads 😭
I received this book from Netgalley/the publisher in exchange of an honest review.
I just HAD HAD to have this one when I spotted it up on Netgalley! I mean, I just LOVE a good shoujo and especially when it takes place in university/college.
In this one we meet a girl named Yuuki, 20 years old, and feeling lonely as heck! And she is ready to find her soulmate! To find a guy she likes and she wants to date! But she has zero experience, like, I thought I was a disaster before I met my now hubby, but this girl is also pretty hopeless, haha. I loved how her friend took her under her wing, went clubbing, and how she went from having zero prospects to having 3. Well, OK, 2 that she is interested in and one guy who has sadly fallen off the boat and has zero chance (yep, that poor guy, I just felt for him, he was crushing so hard). Yep, the dreaded love triangle, but you know what? I didn’t mind it at all in this one. It was written pretty well and I was just so curious who she would fall for. Her childhood crush? Or the guy she just met? As of the end of the volume there has been many swoony moments with the guy she just met (and I am shipping them badly), but there also have been sweet moments + confessions + a good hearty talk that was needed with the childhood crush, so my opinion on him went from OMG the fucker (because of things that were said in the past) to OMG I need this guy as well. Haha. And that is a good sign for me. I am all open for both options to be come her boyfriend.
Yes, the childhood crush was a bit of a fucker at the start from what we learn. Our MC, Yuuki, made lunches and she thought he liked it… but there is more to it. I loved that Seno took the chance he had when he found Yuuki again, tried to be friends again, and then also was honest about things. About the bento. About his feelings. About what was really going on. And frankly, hearing THAT story, I can imagine him not wanting to go for that. UGH. shivers I really loved how hard he worked. How he was hoping to find her again. It was so cute!
But then there is Iori, the new guy who is very hot and very funny and very sweet. He really takes Yuuki under his wings, but you can quickly see he is not doing it just because. He actually really cares for her and it was just the cutest thing. I loved how he came to pick her up when she was drunk. I loved how he tried to build up her confidence when she was unsure about her cooking. And there were so many cute and swoony moments between the two of them. I found myself at a few occasions shouting at my screen that these two should just KISS already!
I also love Yuuki’s best friend, we see her sporadically as the manga progresses, but I really liked the girl. She is so sweet and supportive and I hope that she also has luck in the dating game. So far it seems she is doing fine, haha, but she has dreams and so all the guys so far are not the one.
The art in the manga was really pretty. 100% shoujo.
The manga ends on a cliffhanger and HOT DANG I need the next volume. What will she do now? What will Iori do? I NEED TO KNOW!
All in all, a wonderful manga with fab romance and I cannot wait for more! Read this one!
It feels so good to be reading a new series from Anashin!! No one's writing shojou romances like them~ 🥹 'Waiting for Spring' was so much fun to read last year, with it being centered around the basketball court and highschool students in love, but this time around the characters are adults in university and we get even *more* fluffy romance! 💕 (Anashin's author note at the end stating that they wanted to include even more romance in this series is just *chefs kiss*. I cannot wait)
Iori is seriously the man of my dreams 😌 and his love for home-cooked food is just aaaa (my heart can't handle).. I can't wait to continue the series and see the romance blossom between him and Yuki! Ofc they're my OTP right now, but the side characters are also written and illustrated beautifully.. so I'm just going to sit back🧍♀️
If you're looking for a new series to fall in love with, and feel all the fuzzies then look no further! Perfect for fans of series like 'A Sign of Affection' and 'In the Clear Moonlit Dust'!
Rating: 5/5 — Thank you Netgalley and Kodansha Comics for providing an eARC in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.
My thanks to NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for an eARC of this to read and review.
Ok, this book fell prey to the mini-book slump I was in. I just didn't have any connection whatsoever to the MC h. She was looking for her soulmate, but had THREE guys panting after her and was just oblivious to it all and she was so annoying, I don't see how ANY of them would be interested in her quite frankly. I guess her milkshake was magical and brought all the boys to the yard. Lucky her.
The artwork was pretty and if I hadn't been in a book slump, I'm sure I would have enjoyed this one better.
2, it just didn't do anything for me but I didn't hate it, stars.

***I thank NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advanced reader copy of this book in return for an honest review***
Felt cliché, and many elements were repetitive. I wish the characters were more fleshed out in most shoujo romances. All my stars go for the art and Iori-kun’s haircut <3
I think I like this even better than waiting for spring?? Artwork is 10/10 as expected tho, can't wait for the official English editions to come out later this year
Just okay! Yuuki is so generic that I have a hard time believing all these guys would be tripping over themselves to be with her. That said, I enjoy it for what it is and feel invested enough to keep reading.
