As much as I've liked the Thor/Chris Hemsworth comparisons to hero John in this series, it was the heroine who was the most compelling character in this romantic suspense. She was a former MP who spotted a terrorist from one of her deployments right here in the good ol' USA. Feeling responsible for her team's deaths overseas to this man, she is compelled to uncover his sinister plot and put the man down for good.
It was a bonus to discover her new neighbor was John--a giant, bronze god of a man, an explosives expert, and a covert operative with R.I.S.C. security. Although attracted to the gentle giant, she sees him more as a source of information rather than her equal. But soon enough, they reveal what is really going on and team up to not only ferret out the terrorist, but--with the help of the team--to stop him from taking innocent lives with a dirty bomb.

I have been reading all of the RISC series since the beginning and John was a nice addition to the series. The Delta team is based out of Chicago and RISC operative John aka Rocky Rockland has just noticed that a neighbor moved in while he was out of the country on an op. Raegan Perry came to Chicago with a new job and unfinished business. A chance stop at a gas station leads her to a monster from her past. Raegan has dreamed of righting the wrongs that happened to her team when she was stationed in the middle east and when the local authorities won't listen to her, she decides to take matters into her own hands. Fate is what leads her to this neighborhood and renting a house next to John but she won't let anything stand in her way of getting justice for her team members. When Raegan starts to open up to Rocky about her plans, they both find out there's a lot more that is set to happen in Chicago. John was a fine story. It is a pretty quick read and as a lifelong resident of Chicago, I can safely say that Anna Blakely took a lot of creative license describing areas of the city and the amount of time it takes to drive from one point to another. This book can easily be read in one afternoon and had very little angst considering the subject matter and was told from dual POV. It stood alone in the series and was a pleasant way to spend an afternoon reading.

Rocky is brought to his knees by a tiny but determined and very feisty woman. She has been betrayed, let down, failed and dismissed but she has never wavered in her mission and is willing to go in alone....until Rocky smashes his way through her walls and demands she accepts his help, which obviously means the help of his team too.
Rocky was so sure he would never fall, never find the happiness his team mates have, but I am so glad that when he does, he doesn't hesitate to listen to his heart and embrace it fully. Rae is amazing, strong and brave but she has been so blinkered with her investigation, that she hasn't realised just how dangerous it has become, she is more than willing to give her life to finally take down the man who killed her team....but she is not willing to pay with Rocky's life. Her mission has suddenly changed and surviving is the new goal, survival means they get a future, a forever she never felt she was worthy of but richly deserves.

I always start an Anna Blakely book with so much anticipation because I know it’s going to be good. Her other R.I.S.C books are all incredibly written. I really have no idea where she comes up with these stories but they capture me every time.
This story follows John and Raegan. It can be read as a standalone but I HIGHLY recommend starting with the Alpha Team to get the whole experience. Raegan is struggling with losing her entire unit a few years prior. She meets John literally next door and soon learns they have more in common than she first thought.
Their relationship develops while she pursues justice for her fallen team. The prologue was beautifully written and seemed to have the perfect balance of intensity and heartbreak. One of my favorite things about this author is her ability to write a military mission in great detail. This is a shorter read but it sure packs a punch. I can’t wait for Cade’s book next!

This was an amazing book. The trust and faith that went on behind the scenes I loved.
After Raegan lost her whole MP team to a terrorist Samer, she vowed to find him. When she sees him, it's at a time when she meets next door neighbor John aka Rocky a security expert and gets his and his team to help.
Fast paced and so much action that drives this book. All the danger, suspense and intense moments are offset by the wonderful romance brewing between Raegan and Rocky. That chemistry was so strong and hot in the moments they expressed their attraction.
Anna Blakely really brings a story that is captivating and somewhat real in today's day and age. Her characters sell the story so well and that brilliant team spirit really brings a feel-good feel to the book.

Girl next door
John/Rocky and Raegan. New neighbors with a twist. Raegan is not what she seems, but in the best way possible. She is working on a justice/revenge path based off some horrifying bc events while she served overseas. Along the way she meets John and then the entire Delta team as they find out her plans since her day job ends up intertwined with finding the terrorist who killed her team. Along the way emotions grow and we see a new couple. The ending involved the FBI, Homeland, TSA, the Delta team and Raegan. Loved her sass and fierce aptitude in the face of such danger. The HEA for them was quite fitting. Enjoyed Jagger and Cade, especially the sarcasm and care they showed so very excited for their stories, even more now that we know Cade is going to be with the Dr. who helped Ro in an earlier book!

Action packed rollercoaster filled with high end suspense and emotional turmoil. Strong, brave heroic female lead and equally strong and protective male. This is full on fast paced and dramatic scenes and twists, cross section units from all the alphabet security forces and Delta all combining and working together to stop a major incident. I liturally only put this down for a few minutes, it gripped and held my attention throughout, had me soaking up the urgency and frenzy of all involved and holding my breathe when needed to help the characters steady their nerves or hands depending on the scene. Anna again delivers a race against time plot that got my heart pumping, my emotions empathising with with the characters and especially Raegan.

John aka Rocky certainly has his work cut out for him with his new neighbor Raegan. Mysterious and a firecracker, she instantly piques his interest. Reagan is on her own mission. A mission to track down the person who took out her entire team. In the end, Rocky and his team become an important asset to her plans with Rocky being a bit more important in the end. The third book in the R.I.S.C. Delta Team series was full of action, suspense, and not to mention, tons of heated romance! I am addicted to everything this author writes, and each time is a new epic-filled adventure to obsess over. Rocky and Reagan were a great addition to the series, and I can't wait for more Delta Team stories!

Anna Blakely wrote a great one in John. It's heavy with suspense, intrigue and danger. The romance is stellar and the two main characters: Raegan and John AKA Rocky will win you over immediately The need for revenge, a rescue, a terrorist plot and multiple bank robberies keep this story moving at a fast pace. For various reasons Raegan and Rocky both think, at different times, the other may be a bad guy based on wrong assumptions. When they find out otherwise, it works out well given their attraction. Having someone believe in her and her findings is new to Raegan but not only does she get Delta team she also has the FBI and Homeland Security at her back.

I love the story, the characters, and the whole series. The FMC is an amazing and strong character. My only problem is the FMC describes the bank robber during the scene as a teenager (and we do later learn he's 19) but another agent makes a comment about one of the possibilities for what went on that day...suggesting the chance that's it's "bored millennials"...this is a recent release and I didn't get from it that is was written to be from a decade or more ago. If it's present day is actually the present day of its release, then millennials are in their late twenties and thirties- like the main characters, not the teenagers.

Can this book be more perfect?
Reagan might approached Rocky (John) with ulterior motive, but their chemistry is out of chart. With some unfortunate event press Reagan to confess sooner to Rocky, he didn't even blink. He trust her (albeit slightly skeptic) then proceed to help her.
Reagan, being badass woman that she is, I mean.. I don't know how to say it but it's relieved to see woman can be on physical action as well. Usually if the book is about woman in military/police/security, saved from doing any badass-heroine-thingy to show how alpha the male is. But this book is not like that. We can see Reagan in action, that she executed perfectly. Kudos to author!

Delta tea, definitely has a knack for getting the interesting cases! Raegan is former Army MP, tough, trained, and looking for revenge on the terrorist who took out her team. Rocky is her next door neighbor and RISC operative. Fate throws them together and they rush to take out a terror cell looking to blow up Chicago. A better match couldn’t have been made. Rocky needs the type of woman who can be a part of his work and personal life, and hold her own at both! Love this newest addition to the RISC world!

love a strong FMC
I loved how strong Reagan was and how she stood up for herself and her desire to get justice for what happened to her team
I really liked Rocky as a character and especially how he did right by Reagan and trusted her instincts.
Another fantastic team story too which the author writes so well. Each book in this series so far showcases the value of teamwork and this is no different

Wow! Another FANTASTIC story by Anna! This story is about Reagan and John! The beginning was intense. The way that chapter had ended, we thought the bad guy was taken care of. Boy, how wrong we were. Didn't know about her team until close to the end but now she has a new team and they pretty much accepted she wasn't crazy. Glad the team got the situation under control and were still able to save Reagan in more ways than one. Glad this couple were able to get their happy ending. FANTASTIC job Anna! I would recommend this book!

Another great book by Anna Blakely! This is John (Rocky) and Raegan's story, It is full of action , emotions, and danger. This book kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. I have to say that with each book Anna just gets better. I highly recommend this story, also all the R.I.S.C. series. This author has had me hooked from the very first book that she wrote, she is an automatic one click. Great job!

What if you knew something was true, 100% without a doubt, but everyone called you crazy. Raegan even has the army shrink’s assessment in her file. She isn’t going to let that stop her, she’s on a mission and she’s willing to put her own life on the line to fulfill it. Rocky noticed his new neighbor right away. She had already intrigued him, then he found her breaking and entering another neighbors house. Does he trust her or will he think she’s crazy like everyone else has.

Another heart-pounding, fast-paced ready by Ms. Blakely. The story was unique as well as the two main characters, John (Rocky) and Raegan. It all starts with a leaky sink and just spirals upward with loads of action and intensity. A great next chapter in this series. You always get a great escape with Ms. Blakely's books.

another Great story
Reagan and John alone they are a pair of interesting people, with stories all their own. But together with Each other they help each other process. The losses Reagan has are so high, she may have never been able to surpass them but with the faith and support of John she is able to accomplish acceptance and move on with life.

Dynamic, action packed reading
I loved this book for the badass heroine and protective hero. The action in nonstop from beginning to end with the female lead giving pulse pounding action. The hero is as protective as always, but he gets quite a surprise from our female. This HEA is a must read you'll have trouble putting down.

Grabs you at the beginning and never lets you go. Raegan is a strong feisty woman on a personal mission and John is a neighbor with skills. The action in the book is off the chain. Blakely takes us on a thrilling suspenseful ride with the RISC Delta Team while also giving us a great love story. More than 5 stars. This book is masterful.

I'm glad this story has a strong female veteran who has her share of regret from her time in the Army, but she is determined to bring closure for her teammates. John is her next door neighbor but that wasn't by accident. Raegan planned it that way in case she needed his help. Plenty of action, terrorist plots and of course the heat. Excellent read. HEA.

John & Reagan are great for each other. Reagan works with John and the Delta team to save Chicago, and brings a strong heroine dynamic to the group. My heart broke for Reagan when she shared her secret with John, but because of what she went through, it made her that much stronger. Anna has done it again with the newest R.I.S.C Delta book.

simple and easy story to read - it took me half a day to finish. Both MMC and MFC are likeable and plain vanilla - military background, super skilled with guns etc etc... yawn 🥱
The main plot is ok but just so predictable i just could have written it myself 🙄

Another epic story by Anna Blakely. John finally meets the woman of his dreams and she got her secrets. When push comes to shove he gets to meet the Badass she is. Amazing action packed story with revenge and vengeance.

What a heart racing journey that is filled with action, lies, murder and mayhem. Does John believe Reagan or is he like all of the other alphabet saps that think she has mental issues from PTSD? Enjoy this emotional, action packed romance and enjoy!!!♥️♥️♥️

This story was action packed right from the start. John (Rocky) and the rest of the R.I. S.C. team is amazing and Raegan fits in with them well. John and her are steamy and dreamy together. Part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone.

Action, adventure, romance, and the bad guy gets what he deserved. I would definitely recommend. Anna's books never disappoint and John and Reagan's story is no exception. Get it you will not be disappointed.
