There’s something about the quirky Maisie May, something I can’t quite figure out but want to in the worst way.Maisie
I’m undateable. It’s okay, I’m not ashamed to admit it. I’ve even come to embrace the title and wear that badge proudly.
So when I storm the castle of the Drive Your Destiny dating service to insist they take me off their list of potential dateables, I come face to face with the owner, billionaire Travis Driver, and he’s everything I never knew I wanted.
Maybe it’s his annoyingly optimistic outlook on life. Or his love of romcoms. It could be the fact he truly believes there’s someone out there for everyone—including me. Although I don’t believe him for a hot second, I agree to a fake date with him just to prove my point.
That’s when things get a little messy.
Travis
She thinks she’s undateable? Ha! Challenge accepted. I’ve never met a more dateable, crazy-haired brunette in my life and can’t wait to prove her wrong. There is someone out there for everyone, you just need to know where to look…
And sometimes that includes the mirror.
Author’s The Undateable Maisie May is the hilarious first book in the Unforgettable Billionaire Brothers series. If you like a hero willing to go the distance, a spirited heroine not afraid to speak her mind, and swoon-worthy romance, you’ll love this laugh-out-loud romantic comedy by USA Today bestselling author Allie K. Adams, writing as Belle Adams.
Who knew? Until a few days ago I’d never heard of Belle Adams, A. K., Allie K, or Kat. I was loading up my e-reader with the Stuff Your Kindle end of the year giveaway when the storyline and the cover art caught my attention. Wow, have I ever been missing out! I love romance novels, something unheard of from a grumpy old retired Navy Chief/Historian/Park Ranger. I began to read them during COVID and I am still something of an addict. However, I wanted a break from the predictable tropes and The Undateable Maisie May delivered in spades. I can’t remember when I have laughed so hard in a book. The witty banter alone makes this a great ride, let alone the fresh love story and a touch of spicy steam, and I’m telling my wife she HAS to read this one next. She is more of a Mafia/Shifter gal but I know she will eat it up. I may not be a billionaire (yet) like Travis, but I fell for my own curly-haired brunette and proposed within days of my own blind date. The love story of Travis and Maisie pulls the reader on through the ultimate whirlwind romance, one that will have you turning the pages in an electronic blur. Would I recommend it? Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! (Thanks J.A.). It is one of those rare books that you wish would never end and you were allowed to give unlimited stars. It may be 12:30 a.m., but I am downloading the Unstoppable Sammy K right now. Did I tell you I loved it?
DNF @ 44%. Endless run on dialogues. Each setting has the leads talking on and on, flirting on and on, bantering with each other. It became a little repetitive even though I enjoyed the dialogues. Can you believe the that the 44% mark which I read till has been just three different settings but all on the same day?
First book of the year and I’m not finishing it. I’m almost halfway, and I just cannot. It’s so monotonous inner monologue-wise, and the puns are too much. There are just so many other ways I want to spend my time.
One of the prominent issues encountered while navigating through the narrative is the confusing plot. Adams weaves a complex web of relationships and events, making it challenging for readers to follow Maisie May's journey seamlessly. The numerous subplots and intertwining storylines may leave some readers feeling disoriented and struggling to connect the dots. The confusion within the plot might hinder the overall reading experience, making it less enjoyable for those who prefer a more straightforward narrative structure.
As the story progresses, another noteworthy aspect is the occasional feeling of boredom that creeps in. Despite the promising premise, certain sections of the book seem to lack the necessary depth or excitement to maintain a consistently engaging pace. The narrative occasionally loses momentum, leaving readers longing for more captivating moments to hold their interest. This intermittent sense of monotony might test the patience of readers seeking a more consistently engaging and dynamic storyline.
One of the most significant drawbacks of "The Undateable Maisie May" is the sensation of the narrative being rushed. The pacing of the story at times feels hurried, with crucial events and character developments occurring abruptly. This rushed pace can leave readers yearning for more detailed exploration of certain plot points and character arcs, ultimately affecting the depth and richness of the overall storytelling experience.
3.5 stars. I really liked this story. It was really cute. I just couldn't connect with the main characters. The author did such a good job making Travis seem awesome, and Maisie seem insecure that I couldn't see why he was interested in her. She describes herself as "undateable" "DUFF" "a "beast" and someone who doesn't believe in love or dating. I mean, she is cute and quirky, but what is the attraction aside from chemistry for a guy who loves romcoms and runs a dating service? Also, how is he a billionaire? Is it from the dating service or something else? I could see millionaire but billionaire?
I liked it, though, and I think I will continue with the series. I wasn't sure if I'd want to read about Sammy K but she turned out to be a good friend and I want to see what happens with the storm they keep talking about. Also, the book covers are SO cute. Honestly, it's what drew me in. So I guess sometimes you can judge a book by it's cover! This was a likable book with likable characters and a nice start to the series.
I really like this story. It was different from what I've read before which is the best thing for me. Maisie is upset and ready to throw in the towel. She is smart, selfless, pretty, funny and sweet. She is tired of all the bad dates she was having and decide to cancel the train wreck of dates. She did not find the love of her life. Maisie was authentic herself throughout and so real which I love that about her. Travis is amazing! He is tender, nice, handsome, sap, and smart. He is an owner of a dating service that is doing good. He decides to step in a meeting and meet the love of his life. Travis world has changed and he is all in type of guy. I love this about him and is so caring. This is my first introduction to Belle. And I must say I love the writing. I got so caught up in the story and did not want to put it down. The words flow throughout the book. Amazing work Bell Adams! You might got a fan in me😉
This fast-paced fun read has been crafted by a talented writer. From the very first page, Maisie is engaging and funny, while Travis is refreshingly different, with a sunny. optimistic outlook and a strong belief in romance. Join the ride while the two get to know each other and Travis works to prove to Maisie that she is far from undateable. Well worth the read, you'll be laughing at this heartwarming story.
I picked up this book due to the cover and when I read the premise I just had to give it a go. I enjoyed this story; it had plenty of laughs and swoon. Actually the swoon level was very high all due to an adorable MMC. I just wish that there was a little more spice and sometimes it felt like the author was trying too hard to be funny (mostly at the start of the book). Otherwise, this is an adorable read with loads of swoon that will appeal to a wide audience.
This was an easy and fun read. I definitely enjoyed it! I absolutely laughed at many of Maisie’s antics and thoughts and words. She was a lot, but in the best way! And Travis, what a swoony, hopeless romantic!
I wish we’d gotten deeper with the characters, but overall I enjoyed their love story! If you’re not a fan of insta-love, I’m not sure you’ll enjoy it, but I never mind that trope, so I was all in!
this book took insta-love and ran with it. and broke about a thousand world records in insta-love in doing so. because (and this is sort of a spoiler, so stop reading here if you want to read this book (although i recommend you save your time and eyeballs and don't read it)) what do you mean they got engaged literally less than a week after meeting for the first time!?!? and also said i love you to each other after just a couple of hours!?!? insane behavior actually. seek help.
I am not usually a fan of rom coms, but this author has completely converted me! This book hits all of the marks: fun narrative, relatable characters, and the kind of storytelling that lets you completely disconnect from the stressors of life. If you’re looking for a quick and fun read for yourself or as a gift to others, this is it!
I was in a book slump and randomly chose this from my kindle books. I read it in one sitting.
This book is so cheesy in the best ways. I love charcuterie. It has a spicy scene but if you are looking for straight up spice, this isn't the one. This is a romcom 100%. Also, let me remind the planet that this is fiction. People can fall in love in a day and mean it in books. I'm here for it
This book catch my attention since the first paragraph. Funny and a real romcom. Maisie and Travis love at first sight is a unique story that makes you think on HEA for everybody. I love the way Travis helps Maisie with her self esteem. I loved the book.
Thank you for the opportunity to ARC with Maisie! It was a lighthearted book to start my New Year, with a long drawn out burn. The characters have the quintessential HEA and instead of the girl falling fast, it's more of the boy. Definitely read if you enjoy Hallmark movie type books!

The FMC is easily convinced that everything she knows she doesn't want is now exactly what she wants. The whiplash is real and painful. I did laugh occasionally.
Being a Duff and totally undateable is all a mind set. First love, soul mates happen when you least expect it. You just have to throw caution to the wind. Their first date is awesome.
This book was incredible. I just loved the characters and it is just a feel good story through and through. It is a must read to just pick up your day.
Cute, but very very insta-love. The whole book is like mostly one day. But I must say I was entertained (side note, I was not particularly fond of her friend, but I guess it worked out in the end)
Thoroughly enjoyed this story. It merges modern technology with classic romance. A little bit of a stretch how quickly the relationship grew but a fun read nonetheless.
I absolutely love Miss Maisie!! She is a very relatable character. It is easy to get caught up in everyone else's dreams and it was great that she got to get to her dreams in the end!
