No cheating, no cliffhangers, lots of steam and a happy ending.
Ok so editing issues especially when it’s not corrected after one or two times tops - - - Very Frustrating kept calling her hinny instead of honey and the hinny definition is: The hinny is the offspring of a stallion and a jenny or female donkey, and is thus the reciprocal cross to the more common mule foaled by a jack (male donkey. I don’t think that’s what it was supposed to be. I absolutely loved this one. It’s great to have all the siblings married. Only thing that wasn’t addressed was the situation with Fergus and his men! Didn’t William wonder where his men were? 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ I loved the characters and storyline so much. Daisy and Bellamy were both very strong characters. I can’t wait to read what comes next. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊😊
Daisy was one of my favorite characters from previous books so I was really excited to read her story and see how much she still enjoyed helping people & was willing to stand up against what is wrong, even at risk to herself, I admired how she helped the situation by refusing to back down. I did appreciate how Bellamy was willing to look at himself & after recognizing his faults & changed them. They're shared love for Elodie was nice. I also loved how Bellamy & Daisy work together basely from the beginning & the way they got closer was enjoyable to read.
This is a very fast-moving story with loss going on with a mystery, evil, and treachery and revenge where you would less expect it. Bellamy Kane is the Laird of a very sick child and will do anything to help her. He has heard of a wonderful healer, Daisy. He knows she is traveling back home and sits out to find her. Only her guard will not let her go so he kidnaps her and kills all her guards. She is very scared of this giant of a man and tries to escape. Bellamy is not only the largest man Daisy has ever seen he is also the most handsome too. She is shocked at what she is thinking. As she meets Elodie and sees how sick she is she knows why Bellamy acted the way he did. With help from his best friend, Jamie and the servant Poppy they work to find out what is wrong with the little girl. During this time the attraction between the two of them grows. There are a lot of clues given throughout the story, but the ending is beyond anything you would have expected. The story is about family love with hidden secrets on both sides. I loved the interaction between Daisy and Bellamy. They both had secrets. The cover for this story is all wrong as Bellamy is a Hugh man with long hair and many muscles were the guy on the cover looks like a young lad and small. Daisy is a very small woman and should have only come to Bellamy's waist. Also, nothing is ever said about her guards and what happened to them, which was very odd. All and all it is a great story and one you shouldn’t miss. I received an ARC from the author and wish to thank her. This is my honest opinion and am freely giving it.
Bellamy Kane, laird of Murdoch needs a healer to cure is daughter before it is too late. Daisy, youngest from clan MacDunn fits the bill. Bellamy decides to kidnap her and kills her escort in the process. Not the best start for the pair. But when Daisy meets the little girl Elodie who is so sick she can’t help but agree to stay. There is foul play afoot and the two must work together to find the cure and those who are out to hurt Elodie. I enjoyed the story and the characters although I felt the timeline in the MacDunn family was a little off.
I can’t understand the high ratings on this one. It didn’t seem clear exactly which period it was set in, they were swinging around claymores but the clothing descriptions felt later, everyone seemed to be able to write and read, the nearby village had lots of shops and her plan to get back to her brothers keep involved using public transport?
Those all took me out of the story but mostly I struggled with the bloodthirstyness of the hero (regardless of the time it was set). The murder of the guards protecting her seemed unnecessary and then there’s the story about wiping out an entire clan for vengeance (except one little girl he couldn’t bring himself to kill 🙄).
I have truly enjoyed the journey and adventure in the lives of the Winfrey family of Clan McGunn, Dominic, Delilah, Dakota and Daisy. Each story captured and held you captive from beginning to the very end not one disappointing moment , so again this is really a great series in the lives of these siblings and the strong alpha men and woman who capture their heart. I have enjoyed !!! Maybe more to come 🤔just saying ??
Daisy is perplexed when her young patient does not respond to her healing remedies, when she finally makes the deduction that her patient is actually being poisoned. The mystery leaves the reader wondering who has access to the poison and how are they actually doing it. This was a great mystery (even though I eventually figured part of it before the villain was revealed).
Bellamy and Daisy will thrill you and keep you spellbound to this exciting story. Laird Bellamy will do anything to find a cure for his daughter even capture one that is revered as a witch also a woman he is falling in love with. He offers her a condition heal his daughter for her freedom. Will she cure her before the inevitable happens? This story kept me glued to the pages from start to finish.
Daisy is kidnapped by Bellamy Kane a laird from a clan that needed a special healer for his daughter. Daisy tries a lot of different things until she realizes the girl is being poisoned. During the time spent with the laird Daisy falls in love and he with her. Another great Maddie McKenna story.
After first meeting what she thought was a dangerous monster of a man, Daisy soon fell for the handsome Laird Bellamy. Plus the other characters both good and bad. I would have loved being guest at their wedding.😀 I highly recommend this wonderful story.
This was a great story. Well written and a fast read. It is an interesting story with sadness and humor. Daisy is kidnapped by Laird Bellamy to heal his very sick daughter. He doesn’t care who he kills to get her to his castle to save his sick young daughter. Her illness is a mystery and Daisy needs to find a cure.
Highlanders Captive Bride by Maddie McKenna is one of the best books I have read in along. No Highland drivel like all the other copy cat themes. This is a must read full of angst, intimacy, intriguing story lines and surprising moments.
I throughly enjoyed this story. The between Daisy and Bellamy was great. The storyline was very entertaining and the book was hard to put down. A perfect ending to the story.
I loved the story. It had all the ups and downs of a good romance, with the ' baddies' finally been crushed and a happy ever after. It was a beautiful story.
Good story but started sort of slow. She was a healer and her brother needed her help, but the she was kidnapped and her guards all killed. She was terrified but still stood up to the huge man confronting her.
The book is supposed to be a historical romance, but the language used is too modern. I was pushing my way through, but once a character left her address for others to write her, I gave up. Very predictable, too.
This was just what I needed to conclude the series. The storyline and characters were perfect. I loved the trials and their love for each other. The Clans have to for filled their lives destinies.
Wow! Mystery, fighting, intrigue and a lot of action made this story flow quickly. I did not want to put it down. Strangely enough the villain was devious and sneaky. I enjoyed reading about Elode the ill little girl.
