Updated Review 11/11/25: I was reading this while waiting for my kiddo during an ortho appt, and I couldn't stop smiling when reading! I had to really suppress my wanting to burst out laughing because while it was NOT funny what almost happened to Abigail/Blanche, seeing how Abigail acted in the moment WAS!
I truly admire Abigail's deep, deep love for Blanche because not only is she her biggest fan, but also because she didn't even KNOW Blanche personally at the start. And what I mean is that her Korean self is technically a "foreigner" in this world, yet she has always loved Blanche since the first time she saw her, with that love only deepening. It's beautiful to see, as well as the reconciliation that has happened between the two of them, so they can have any kind of semblance of a mother-daughter relationship.
Definitely another wonderful volume!
Original Review 11/29/23: "Oh, heavens above! My heart may give up today from all the cuteness…"
Oh my goodness, I forgot how much I deeply loved the previous volume!! Abigail was incredibly hilarious once again but she is also such an amazing mother to Blanche!
Truly, this volume took everything I loved about volume one and multiplied it! Seeing Abigail "fight" for Blanche's happiness as well as celebrate all the things Blanche does is so very heartwarming! She truly shows how amazing children are and that they are indeed a beautiful blessing. Does that mean everything is easy? No, but Abigail consistently makes me smile at how often she says Blanche is "cute" (and how even she has "trained" those around her to say the same thing and agree LOL)!
The beginning was really fun but quickly led to some DEEP intensity! Abigail may be so very happy around Blanche, but we also quickly see the opposite when someone tries to harm her! I never ever want to get on her bad side! LOL!
I knew from reading the light novel that Sabrian would come around and that I WOULD come to like him more, and that was very true in this volume! My heart ached for him a little bit at the end because we see more flashbacks of why he acts the way he does in certain situations. I'm very eager to know if he will share some of those things with Abigail and what will come next, especially with that cliffhanger!
So very much enjoy seeing Abigail grow closer to Blanche as well as this whole family slowly (and awkwardly) come together! It is a beautiful, wholesome, and very fun story that I would definitely recommend!
Abigail’s on a mission, not just to mend things with Blanche, but also to help heal the rift between Blanche and her dad. Obviously, it’s not gonna be smooth sailing… especially when one of the maids tries to poison our sweet little Blanche. Yeah. Shit definitely goes down.
This series is just so freakin’ cute. Blanche is out here doing her absolute best to find a family she can love, and every scene with her and either Abigail or her dad is just peak adorableness. Also, Abigail had me cracking up this volume—her internal monologue is gold, I swear.
If you’re into lighthearted, cozy, and hella cute manga with pretty art and characters you wanna root for, this one’s a no-brainer. Pick it up!
I'm enjoying this quite a bit. Blanche is the absolute cutest, and Abigail is such a great character. She's fierce in her love and protectiveness for her step-daughter, and she's not afraid to be bold and independent. I love that she's finally going to be able to incorporate her passion for design into the narrative, as the clothing designs here are stunning. Abigail has some insecurities lingering from her previous life, but she refuses to take those insecurities out on anyone else; I hope she is able to overcome those as the story continues.
The king is a much stronger character in this volume. He's a bit awkward in a way that's starting to endear him to me, but he's also clearly suffering from something related to his former wife. I'm invested in seeing his relationship grow with his daughter especially, but also with Abigail.
The original Abigail may have been awful, but that just makes it sweeter that the whole family is getting a second chance now that Baekhap is in her body - and Baekhap also deserved that chance. Sabrian is probably the most interesting character simply because he's so awkward, and unlike some other kings in manhwa (cough Sovieshu cough), he seems to be genuine underneath it all.
Season 2 was even cuter and funnier than the first season! Sabrian is such a lovesick puppy, I love how clueless and serious he can be at the same time 🤗 Abigail continues to gift us with superb reactions and facial expressions as always 👌
Oh man I love this series! It makes me squee inside with each volume. I love Abigail and her incessant desire to make Blanche her friend. We’ve all had that feeling before. And the art is so good. I love how everything can be so pretty and then Abigail will have a terrifying smile or her eyes will bug out of her head haha.
And is Sabrian being haunted????
TW Food restriction. Both Blanche's nanny restricts her food and the main character talks about her past with people berating her eating and size.
This little family is absolutely adorably awkward. They all need someone to love and treasure, but they are so unsure of it all. I can’t wait to see as more of their relationships develop through the course of the series. And why is Sabrian scared to touch Abigail?
Slow burn. Dumbass mmc. I think. Topics could be. Explored more. Idk instead of it having a deeper message or anything it’s kinda like. “This is bad” and then they move on. Only to bring it up again and again say “this is bad” and move on. The only part that went deeper was when the mmc talked about how he wanted to harden his child so she wouldn’t be hurt and in the process he hurt her and comes to terms with the fact what he was doing wasn’t beneficial. It just. Happened so quickly. One day he is saying being compassionate is a weakness the next he is saying he failed his daughter by not showing her love. Idk idk idk. It’s good. Not great.
I tried to keep these separate I really did. Ended up as another binge read so all blended into one volumes 1-5. Ize press is doing a great job cranking out stuff I want to read. The covers are beautiful, they all read the right way and genuinely I just look forward to the new releases. So much for cutting back on the pre-orders. In a way this was a retelling but very loosely based on Snow White. Stepmother that's not so evil but looks it, a talking mirror programmed to respond to the classic line.
The mirror was the best character and the king's jealously made me laugh. This one is pretty much a rom com in the child rearing genre with enemies becoming friends and allies. I've got a feeling the mirror is going to be Blanche's best ally. Looking forward to the next one.

A new volume in the series and oh so much fun! I love how Aubrey is just so excited to be with Blanche and I love seeing Blanch and her getting closer. I also love how Aubrey is trying her hardest to get Sabrian to have more connection with his daughter (if she is his daughter, yes that little rumour has come around). The art is really pretty! Aubrey's faces are just perfect~ I am curious to see how things will continue for everyone.
I like the second volume more than the first volume of the print version of the series. I feel like we get more exposure on the King and in a better light!
Blanche and Abigail are still adorable and the guy in the mirror! I hope he gets a body eventually. He's too adorable too.
This is one of those series that gets more interesting as you read it so I am excited to read the next volume!
Liked seeing the character design sketches as a bonus on the last pages. Abigail is such a pretty character. I hope the MC comes in terms with her trauma regarding beauty and appearances.
This was more of a continuation from volume 1 - Abigail is still trying to establish herself as not the awful queen from before. It seems to be working.
One wonders if there will be any romantic subplot between her and Sabrian. But the relationship with Abigail and Blanche is lovely, so I will be happy with that for now. :)
The nutmeg incident was excellent and a great way to get over some emotional constipation. The real star of this volume was definitely the Sabrians flashbacks. If that man was not taken advantage of I’ll eat my entire shoe.
