Okay, I'm not totally clear on what "book" I'm on because I read this story on Manta and all I know is what season I'm on. I will say this: this is my favorite story I've read on the app. It isn't done yet but here's what I think this one covers. A cop/detective and the rest of his precinct are investigating a cult that has popped up and is resulting in horrific murders and suicides. Their only lead is a tattoo all the suicide victims seem to have. Kyunjoon runs into a cult member and gives chase, winding up being held in a warehouse covered in symbols and set on fire. This is how he meets the Demon, Lord Cain. From there, Kyunjoon's life is irrevocably tied to Cain's life and is brought smack into the middle of a faction war between Cain and Satan. This war is made more intense by the backstabbing done by one Cain trusts most. Then the angels get involved. Angels that are invested in the outcome of the war taking place in Hell. Angels that are also separated by interests, creating a multifaceted battle between Heaven and He'll, between Heaven and Heaven, and between Hell and Hell. With humans stuck in the middle being used and sacrificed by both sides. Kyunjoon just wants Cain. Cain just wants Kyunjoon. Everyone else seems to have an interest in their relationship, be it for better or for worse.
Yeah... The story is a bit complicated. I love it! It does contain dark themes, from blood and possession to sexual assault, rape, and relatively graphic smut. I was hesitant in the beginning to even read this one. Now, I look forward to every Tuesday when I get my update. The story isn't even finished and I've reread it four times to be sure I haven't missed anything or to notice the details I didn't pay attention to but are a huge deal later on. If this was a book, I'd buy it in an instant because it is a story I'm insanely into and I want it to exist for me forever.
Do I recommend this? If you're into BL/mxm and can handle dark themes, I absolutely recommend it. It's probably a niche genre story, but I'm here for it
I like the characters and the artwork, Kyungjoon is so adorable. It’s probably since this is still the beginning of the series that so many questions go unanswered… like why do even demons need to go to the human world? They need to go back home to recharge energy anyways, so what’s the benefit in staying in human world? Why did Cain show up? Hopefully it will be explained at some point
SEHR einvernehmlich :D
WOW - Perfection 😍 Cain an KJ ❤️ and all the side characters, Aaron (❤️), Sid, JY, Ben, Azaniel 🦄, Gayle. This manhwa is funny, sad, super intense, with incredible art and plot, very addictive. Top three favorite manhwas of all time
I'm going to think this refers to the second season of Dear Door, because if it's supposed to be volume two, I don't know which chapters are TT.
omg the art is 100% amazing. it gets infinite stars. the fantasy and action in this manhwa are incredibly well thought out, leaving aside all the romance and smut, i think this webtoon has some of the best foundation and world building i've come across.
I love all the characters, and the diversity of antagonists have me crazy, in fact, I find it great that they have such solid backstories.
one of the main reasons I gave it 4 and not 5 stars, is that despite the deep story that unfolds, I failed to fully connect with the main characters (I mean in a deeper sense).
I don't know, I hallucinated how the relationships between the characters are intertwined and how everything is so connected.
Well, it was a very good season but there are still some TWs to be careful with (like r4pe), and I feel they were not given space to discuss, although you have to understand the context of the comic, since literally the "bad guys" are some motherfuckers who are really BAD, and do BAD THINGS.
I still love this story very much but the moment Satan got involved I've become a little apprehensive of where the story's going. There are just some moments where I'm like "holy crap" and it makes my skin crawl, but I can't say I'm not dying to see how it all comes to an end.
Girl, I don’t even know what I’m doing here. Halfway through this volume, I was sure I was giving up on it. Here I am now: willing and ready to continue reading 😩
I guess what I’ll say is that I am compelled by the other characters in this story. Whatever fuckery is going on with Jinyoung and his demon is none of my business. They’re just a mess. However, the “doctor” and I guess we’ll call him the “door” demon do interest me. I’m curious to learn more about their own motivations as they’re both giving scientists in their own way, and I’m into that 😂 They raise more questions about demons and how they work, but not in a way that frustrates me.
Cain and Kyungjoon tho? Dumbasses, bro. They’re so into each other in this volume in a truly inexplicable way, but I’m just going with the flow. At least Kyungjoon had his moment to shine and be a little bit badass while fighting that monster that was attacking the humans. Cause beyond that? Girl, that man was just a hole waiting to be filled 💀 Horny on main every day and, worst of all, in denial of being so.
Deranged. Why am I continuing exactly? Hard to say. But I’m too intrigued by all the scheming from demons to let go of this story quite yet.
(I read that this volume has Chapters 65-130. I read this BL through Lezhin and it was worth every cent!)
Damn! While this story was incredible to experience there were some tough scenes to watch and I got so annoyed by a few characters.
The war between the angels and the demons and who held power over all or at least thought he did was quite interesting. Also, that final battle was so intense and a certain someone made me cry so hard.
I had to stop reading the manhwa for like 20 minutes because I was ugly crying for the “death” of a character that literally destroyed me. Overall, while the ending destroyed me it also healed me right back up.
Ben and Jingyoung while attempting to open the door….that scene was so hilarious two Alpha’s proving who has the bigger sausage…LOL! Also, damn the side stories….while I thought it was so wrong it was quite enjoyable as well.
The side stories!!!! Cain and Kyungjoon!!!!! Such a beautiful start to the side stories! I swear all the life stages of Cain are fine as hell!
Overall, the ending of this series was bittersweet because I didn’t want it to end while being satisfied with the ending of it!
Same opinion as the first part. But this one pulls the plot together very nicely I liked all the characters coming together even though sometimes it seemed like a lot to keep straight. Characters are developed and stay very true to themselves. Would read again.
I like this book because the more the story went on the more the two main characters seem to grow a custom to each other, which helps with the storyline and the new characters. We meet also help and find like really interesting things and it was quite mythical, but still has action and romance.
