When a set-up goes wrong and Six finds herself sleeping with the enemy, who will she choose, the man she loves, or the man she's supposed to hate? Detroit hustlers Free and Six have been together seven years, but their relationship has been nothing but drama. Free hasn't been faithful and Six has taken out her hurt by physically hurting the other women. Free ends up in jail for three years, and when he's sprung, he's not happy to learn that Six has been living the high-life on his dime and blown through $100,000! Then Six gets entangled in one of Free's schemes and finds herself in a role almost too good to be true-posing as the woman of another man who actually treats her with respect. Though you can bet there won't be a "happily ever after" for anyone involved....

Wow. What an interesting plot. I like that Ashley & JaQuavis managed to put a spin on the typical urban novel with an intricate plot and rather disturbing ending. With two leading male characters, it's amazing that I found it impossible to hate either one. Free was hot tempered and relentless in his demeanor. Britain was calm but vicious. I'm always pleased whenever I find a street novel that doesn't incorporate scenes full of blood and gore. Ashley & JaQuavis do a good job of relaying a street tale without completely unlikely circumstances and events. I am a big fan of Ashley & JaQuavis, I find that these two successfully write urban novellas without the foolish and unlikeable characters found in books by their colleagues like Teri Woods, Erick Gray, and Wahida Clarke (I love them but there's no depth to their books). I know quite a few people don't like urban lit, but it may be a result of all the ridiculously bad books many struggling "authors" self-publish. "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" is a great introduction to urban lit and it is a testament to the fact that there are some talented African American writers who can write about "life" in the ghetto and incorporate hip-hop culture without completely disgracing the Black community - they can write about the other side, add a little fiction, and create something that is quite entertaining.

This book pissed me the fuck off. It ain't the writing...the writing is on point. I'm just so fucking annoyed with the shit that happened that led to their sad tragic fucking demise.

So Free coming home from jail with that debt I kind of get, but then I don't. The Russians knew he got nabbed. He got rid of the dope and didn't mention them. Yes, that's what he was supposed to do, but why not give the nigga a break. You think he come out of jail with $250k when he got nabbed on his way from getting the work? That's unreasonable.

I get why they needed Six to handle Britain, because they needed that money to pay the Russians. But he ain't deserve that shit at all. He was such a good dude! He treated her good and was loving and patient...but the heart wants what its stupid ass wants.

I do think Free and Six were soul mates. I liked Free. But I loved Britain. I was torn on who I wanted her with. Once Free died, there should have been no question on who she was gonna be with...Britain, right...? WRONG! She chose Free...who was fucking DEAD! So she killed herself to be with him. Which I don't know if I necesarily believe you reunite with loved ones when you die. I hope you do, but ion know.

Now that suicide shit pissed me off!!!! Brick paid Free's debt without anyone even knowing it (which I still wanna know why), and let her steal like $300k for Free, thinking he still had the debt, then came back because he loved her and wanted to take care of her. But she wanted to fucking die and be with Free and hurt Brick again.

And Free pissed me off because he should have noticed that Six was just laying there lethargic, HIGH, and not responding. If she was voluntarily making love to the nigga Twin, she would have hopped up and tried to explain, been begging, crying, anything. While she's laying there, looking, but not moving or talking, he gave her the kiss of death and shot her then shot himself. That shit made me so mad!!!!!

One of these days I'm gonna stop reading these two stressful ass people. They make me depressed.

This book was good ! I was hooked since the first page ! This book has it all a good plot , relatable characters, and people with ulterior motives. This book finds our leading lady Six holding down her man free the question is how far will she go to hold him down !? You have to read to find out.

Oh, this was so terrible. I read some article about the ridiculously prolific author duo that pumps out this crap and was curious enough to read a whole book. Apparently they trade off chapters and staple them together with little or no editing. It shows, like when chapter n spends paragraphs explaining something that chapter n-1 just explained in detail. Or when a character suddenly changes his mind entirely with no explanation. Then they shoot for a sort of Romeo and Juliet ending, but miss because every character is completely despicable. The only thing worse is reading the other reviews for this book. I'm being too harsh on this paperback, at least I learned a lot of new slang.

This book was ok. I don't like how it ended after Six took the money from Brittain the story line just kind of missed me. Everything that happened after that just didn't seem realistic to me. I mean I know it's fiction but it is suppose to captivate you and take you along make you feel like you were there. This book lacked that for me. Good theory just wasn't delivered as good. I give this 3 stars.. Nice try Ashley & JaQuavis.

1.5 stars. Wholly unoriginal. Unlikable criminals do terrible things, have terrible things done to them.

95% of this book is ‘oh I love him/her so much. We’ve been through so much together’ (and that’s basically verbatim, not even varying in its repetitive declarations), with 25% terribly over-written sex scenes and 15% proving who knows the most slang. Yes I know that’s more than 100%. My math is better than this book.

Well they don't believe in happy endings. It was an interesting read but it shows that we always want what can't have and what we want is not always good for us to have.

Whew!!!! I didn’t expect that ending at all!!! I am shocked to say the least! Six was a good girl but they was chasing her crazy. Free had some bad breaks. Britain was the man. Sparkle was a mess. The book was great though, a real page turner.

****There are spoilers at the end of this review****

Wow! This was a good book but it’s a tragic love story. 😱😰

Free didn’t love Six!!! He wouldn’t have placed her in that position if he really loved her.
I love Britton (Brick)💙 and I can’t believe that he still wanted Six!! 🤦🏽‍♀️ Why would he trust her!!???

I didn’t like the following;
(1) Half of the ending is shared at the beginning of the book! Literally, the most important part of the plot! Why would you share the end of the book in the prologue??!!!!! That was a spoiler for me.

(2) The narrator: She has a good voice, but
her reading is annoying. She pauses at odd times after some words and then she just runs through all of the sentences!

(3) It would’ve been nice to find out why Britton paid the debt and if he had anything to do with the shootings (Free and then Big Lou and Six). That information was an important piece of the story….

Overall, it was a good story and I enjoyed the book 📖.

I love reading Ashley & JaQuavis' works because they normally turn out really quick reads with intersting story lines. This one however, was very difficult for me to get through the first 7 chapters because they were so contradicting. However, once I got through that the storyline thickened the plot became more interesting and it became a book that I didn't want to put down, which is what I am used to from them. Throughout the book there were many predictable outcomes that once predicted they turned it around to something that wasn't expected. So, I believe it is still a good read, just not one of their best works.
