Helen Beck is training to become a witch like her late-grandmother, but managing a bed and breakfast and her ADHD, makes concentrating nearly impossible. When her mentor convinces her go into the woods and practice magic under the moonlight, she hopes that the natural world unlocks her dormant powers.
A year ago, Everett Myer left Alaska to come home and help his father run the family hardware store. But he brought back a few secrets as well. First, he'd rather take over his grandmother's bakery than sell tools for the rest of his life. Second, he has an intense crush on Helen but he doesn't know how to talk to her… Let alone reveal that he's a demisexual virgin.
But he finds his tongue after Helen's accidental spell leaves him bewitched.
Instant attraction with Everett wasn't her goal, but the results are hot. Unfortunately, this sexy conjuring only distracts them from a larger problem: There's something evil in Everett's grandmother's house and Helen will need to summon all of her newfound skills to get rid of it.
When Charish Reid isn’t writing romance, she’s watching 1970’s disaster films, reading romance, and hastily preparing lectures for tomorrow’s class. She is a traveling chatterbox with ADHD who enjoys talking to new people in new places. In Bangkok, Charish saw a Thai royal princess in a shopping mall. In Helsinki, she karaoked Alanis Morissette. And in Galway, she found inspiration for her first novel. Charish currently lives in Sweden with her husband and teaches Rhetoric.
Such a good, quick read. I love the characters and the way the story gets told without any third act break up or other nonsense to bog it down. All the conflict is coming from outside of the house as it were (well, inside the house, but you get what I mean). Issues that other authors would have drawn out into conflict, just stay in their lane as things to be discussed by two adults who believe the best of each other and trust one another to come through a wild situation together. It's creepy, and romantic, and sexy, and a little bit sad. I enjoyed every minute of it, just like I did the first one. My only problem is that there are only two sisters, so now I guess the series is done :(
Shut the front door this was absolutely amazing!! I fell in love with the characters and magic in I’ll Come Back For You and was so excited to have had the opportunity to read I’ll Conjure For You early!
In this installment of The Beck Sister Hauntings we are catching up with Helen who is juggling running her family B&B, adjusting to her recent ADHD diagnosis and learning how to understand her magic. As if she doesn’t have enough on her plate, Everett (the very handsome neighbor) has moved back home and stumbled upon her becoming one with her magic in the woods - accidentally becoming bewitched!! And to top it all off there is an evil presence coming from Everett’s grandmother’s house! Now she has to figure out how to break this enchantment and exercise the malevolent spirit before it’s too late!
I’ll Conjure For You has everything you could want in a paranormal romance! There’s cozy elements, spicy moments, swoony romance, an adorable familiar, horrifying haunts and an amazing magic system! I am 100% loving this series and can’t wait to see what book 3 will hold!
This was so much more enjoyable to me than the first book. I felt a deep connection to Helen. The author does a fantastic job of giving us the romance and the spook. Definitely the perfect book to read this season. Excited to explore more of this author’s catalog.
I’ll Conjure for You is a book about two people, Helen and Everett, who are really falling for each other and who discover Everett’s grandmother’s house is haunted, kind of possessed, and since Helen is a witch, they work together to exorcise a demon while falling in love.
The overall story is super interesting to me. All that conjure stuff is right up my alley, so I was *really* excited to read this. And thank you to Charish Reid's team for sending me an ARC! I am sorry it took me so long to publish this review. A version of this review is also on my Substack.

I felt Reid maybe went too deep into both the romance and paranormal sides of the story. I kind of felt like there was too much going on and not really much time to process or wind down so I never really got the chance to feel like I was “in” the story. There was a lot of ground to cover in what felt like not-enough-pages. These two sisters who have kind of a reputation in their town for being witches, a family history, a romantic interest, some 🔥heat!🔥 And then a love interest who has issues with their father, is changing careers, not to mention a gnarly entity living in his grandmother’s house, and he’s a virgin, all in 267 digital pages. See what I mean?
One of the places where I felt like this really showed up was with Helen’s confidence in her abilities. At first it seemed like she wasn’t confident at all, but then she’s able to see some pretty intense results quickly and her confidence seems to flip in that one moment. I didn’t read the first book, so there might be some important backstory or context there.
The dialog: in some places it can feel like it's stuffed or there's extra, sometimes too much information in the dialog. In one scene for example, there’s talk about an air conditioner that's not working very well. Everett rolls his eyes. Says: “What did I tell you about that thing? I rushed ordered a new unit from Syracuse yesterday. It should arrive tomorrow.” It kind of reads like, like, it's almost like Everett is speaking like someone telling US, the reader, a thing we should know rather than the people he is talking to as a character.
Maybe another example is the sisters (meaning Helen and her sister) using this term “witchy” over and over again. It sounds like: ‘I did something witchy’ and ‘you did something witchy’ or ‘that was pretty witchy’.
I feel like if they are really about that life they would use more specific terms to describe what was done, like, you know, talking about energy or chakras manifesting something in 3d experience. They call what Helen did in the woods ‘witchy’, … which… felt to me like they were talking like that for my benefit as a reader rather than describing actually floating; weightlessness, working the elements; working air working fire, etc.
I feel like the author's trying to tell me what to think. Like they have written this book for people who are just learning about these things or who have maybe gathered their information from social media apps or they have a very surface level knowledge of these things.
Overall the story was one of the more interesting ones I’ve read this year. With everything going on I did feel emotionally drawn in, even if there were parts where I felt I had to be a bit generous. The paranormal moments really left a chill through my body and then the hot scenes were actually really hot! It all culminated in a cozy, satisfying ending. It could have been 100 more happy, enjoyable pages. Easy.
With The Beck Sisters Hauntings series, Charish Reid has entered a new phase, and I love it. I’ll Come Back for You and I’ll Conjure for You are creepy, atmospheric, funny, heartfelt, and spicy. Horror isn’t my preferred genre, but I’ll follow an author I trust out of my comfort zone. Mix in romance and its expectation of a Happily Ever After, and I’m willing to test my anxiety tolerance.
I liked I’ll Come Back for You quite a lot, and I think I’ll Conjure For You is even stronger. After the ghost is dealt with, Helen decides to explore her witchy heritage. Her grandmother’s friend and fellow practitioner comes to stay for a bit to train Helen, and brings her a familiar, a rabbit named Henry. Helen is struggling with the ADHD curse of wanting to be good at something but not loving the process of getting good at the craft. Meanwhile, in town, Everett has been pining for Helen, but he’s not sure how to approach her. His grandmother suggests he take her a pie.
Helen and Everett start talking to each other when he happens on her first successful solo magic ritual, which binds them in a lust fog, and then Everett realizes his grandmother bought some haunted furniture at a yard sale. Creepiness ensues.
Charish Reid knows her classic tropes. She gives us two that I don’t often see in contemporary romance, the “get naked to share body heat for survival” maneuver, and a virgin sacrifice. Helen and Everett are a wonderful couple and I would read a series centered on them dealing with the supernatural and making food.
The Beck Sisters Hauntings are small town witch contemporary horror romances. Delightful even in spring time. No bunnies or dogs are harmed in this series.
I received an advance reader copy of I’ll Conjure for You from the author. My opinions are my own, freely and honestly given.
Okay I think I'm still in a reading slump BUT this book apparently didn't agree with it😂... I loved the first book in this series (where you can see more of Whitney - the older Beck sister) because it was just what I needed. Fluffy, funny, extremely romantic and a little bit scary 🥰. I Did feel scared at night, yes, but honestly, who cares? It was too good to put it down... This book tho... . I've read it far faster than I did the first book and I was really really trying to find that time to read (there's still not much of it sadly 🥲)... This book is about Helen coming to terms with her witch heritage and Everett, who is... smitten 😂❤️. Also a baker. I sort of think about him as this huge fluffy teddy bear 🧸❤️ because it fits him so well. This story was more graphic in terms of scary stuff - which basically means that I fell asleep while reading just because I was scared to look away to the dark of my room 😂. But I think that's part of the reason that I could read this even in my reading slump, scary stories just work for me in that matter✨. You can also see more of the curses, hexes, general casting spells and Helen's cute little familiar in this book! . Romance was, as in the first book, extremely adorable 🥰. I was really rooting for them from the start. And in this case, there was even demisexuality representation - which is why this book caught my attention to be honest 😂. And ADHD rep 👌✨. . But the most important part of this book (or whole series) for me are the dreams the characters have and how are they pursuing them. It's scary/hard/impossible but they are not giving up and in the end, they can see that it's actually possible if they put their mind into it... ❤️ This was the main reason why I fell in love with the first book (Deon's dream career) and it's also one of the reasons I like this book so much as well ✨.
This is the sequel to I’ll Come Back For You in the Beck Sister Hauntings series. This is one of the BEST paranormal romances that I’ve read to date! I am all about that witch life and can’t resist a witchy read! Seriously send them ALL my way! I randomly found the first book in the series while scrolling on the zon. I LOVED it and started following the author on social media.
The story features an array of paranormal creatures including witches, demons, ghosts, and of course a familiar. This was a short, easy read with a whole lot of happenings that kept the pages turning. I didn’t want it to end! I enjoyed the story line, the characters, the ADHD representation, spooky suspense, spell casting, and as always the romance. I was even low key scared just a little bit tho.
The storyline follows the FMC, Helen and the MMC, Everett. Helen is a witch in training with ADHD who also manages a bed and breakfast. Everett is a demisexual virgin whom returned home to help his father manage the family business. When Helen accidentally casts a love spell, the effect was more intense than either of them were prepared for. Unleashing chemistry between the two like a volcano erupting.
The connection between Helen and Everett was swoon worthy. I enjoyed watching their relationship unfold and develop. The intimacy made the steamy scenes all the more swoon worthy. They had my glasses in full fog mode! I felt like I was under the spell as well! Definitely add this to the TBR if you enjoy steamy witchy reads. This is also great for my seasonal readers, make sure to add this to the fall TBR list! The book is written as an interconnected stand alone, but do yourself a favor and read both books. Reid has created a magical reading experience and I can’t wait for more! Overall, luved this read!
I've looked forward to Helen's book since the moment I finished its prequel, I'll Come Back for You, and my hopes weren't disappointed! I think I read the whole thing in about six hours (a gal has to take snack breaks or it would have been less).
Some time after the events of the first book, Helen is coming into her witchy powers but still lacks confidence. When her crush (on whom she's accidentally cast a love spell - oops) seeks her help with a haunting in his grandmother's house, she knows she has to help, but she also knows it won't be easy. Whatever is lurking in the house is old and powerful.
Helen and Everett are a fun pair, and once the spell breaks the ice, I love how comfortable they are together. Here are two people who see and accept each other so unconditionally that there's no question whether or not they can make it work. The only question is if they can defeat the demon!
I'm no more a fan of horror than I was when I read book one, but Reid once again strikes the perfect balance between goosebump-raising spooky and "you can still sleep after this." I also appreciate how different the haunting is from the last one, and the exorcism had its own twist, too (I kind of love that Reid went there).
Reid has hit it out of the park again. And if you're in the mood for some spooky, some steamy, and some hilariously silly, please give I'll Conjure for You a chance.
Many thanks to the author for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Fascinating! I'm not usually a witchcraft/occult person, but I am a huge Charish Reid fan and have loved all her books. So I thought I'd read this two-book series, and it did not disappoint!
Helen is a gourmet chef, lovely person, and ... a witch? She recently discovered she has supernatural powers when she helped vanquish an evil spirit in her B&B, and and is honing her skills. Hot hardware store manager Everett (who really wants to take over his grandma's bakery), already has a huge crush on Helen, but he's hooked for good when he comes across one of her rituals in the woods. As it turns out, a demon spirit takes up residence in his grandma's house, and he needs Helen's help to get rid of it. Of course, Helen's been crushing on Everett too and wants to help him.
This book had so much--it was heavy on the witchcraft and super interesting since I never read about that; Helen and Everett's relationship was awkward at times (in a good way, as so many budding relationships are), sweet, sexy, and a little strange given all the weird events in the book. You also get the interesting family dynamic between Everett and his dad, plus glimpses of Whitney and Deon from Book 1. You could read this as a standalone, but it's much better if you read I'll Come Back for You first.
Rating: 4 Steam: Low to Medium Themes and Tropes: Occult/Witchcraft, Small Town, ADHD rep, Baggage from Ex Pair With: Spooky wines, such as Devil's Corner, Vampire, or Ghost Rock
I enjoy this series SO much! Charish Reid's combination of genuinely scary ghost/supernatural stories (there was one moment last night when I really wasn't sure I should be reading this just before bed!) and fun, funny and passionate romances is just wonderful, and I love her characters. Helen, the younger sister of Book 1's heroine, has only recently gotten her ADHD diagnosis, and she's been burned by a lifetime of being treated as being too loud, too flakey, and just generally Too Much. She's now a successful chef at the B&B she co-owns with her sister Whitney, and she's also working to develop the witchy powers they both inherited from their grandmother, but when Whitney leaves town for a week, it's up to Helen to step up to an even scarier supernatural challenge than the sisters had jointly confronted before - and to open herself up to trusting a new romance with a quiet, steady baker who thinks she's not too much but just exactly right and wonderful for him.
This story was a lot steamier than Book 1 (with some sex-linked magic involved in this one), but it had all the same chills and scares and great, funny dialogue along the way. I hope Charish Reid will keep on writing supernatural romances forever!
Status: Non-KU, Series of Interconnected Standalones, Third Act Conflict - , Reproduction -
Helen: ADHD, POC (Black), 35 Yrs Old, Witch, Professional Chef, Co-Manages a Bed and Breakfast (with Her Sister), Learning Witchcraft, Takes ADHD Meds, Has a Bunny Familiar (Henry)

I haven't read the first book, so I didn't realize this is a scary book! I started reading it at bedtime, and NOPE this is a daylight book for me. But I spook easy.
So clearly the scary bits were effective for me! Like... seriously effective.
Helen is a new witch, just coming into her powers. Everett is the hot guy at the hardware store and also her neighbor. Helen accidentally casts a sex spell on Everett (over-simplifying here) and they have the literal hots for each other. Meanwhile, something evil has taken up residence in Everett's grandmother's house and Helen is the only one he can turn too.
I didn't realize hot horror is a genre, because this book alternates between very scary and very very hot. The sex spell contributes, but the seeds were there well before.
I had a lot of fun reading this - you've got two people drawn together by fate with a problem to solve together. What's better? If you like spooky hot books with a rabbit familiar, this will be your jam.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily posting a review. All opinions are my own. I’ll Conjure For You is the second of Charish Reid’s Beck Sister Hauntings series. It can be read as a standalone, with a completely self-contained romance, although the familial connections make reading the series rewarding. I really loved both Helen and Everett. Each of them are representations for often misunderstood marginalizations, with Helen having ADHD, and Everett being demisexual. I loved how these elements informed their characters, with the related anxiety due to these issues being conveyed beautifully. I appreciated seeing Helen come into her own and finding self-confidence, and both her and Everett being able to be vulnerable with each other. The ghosts and magic are a fun aspect of the book, and while it skirts the line toward horror, it was never to the point where it was overly dark and intense. The paranormal/horror elements perfectly complemented the romance, and even the ghosts felt fairly “human” in their own way. This was an enjoyable genre-blending read, and I’d recommend it if you’re interested in a paranormal/horror romance.
In book 2 of the Beck Sister Hauntings, we follow Helen, a new witch stretching her powers, and Everett, a young man who's held a candle for her for a LONG TIME. They both have personal stuff they're working through. Helen is navigating life and running a business with ADHD. Everett is working up the courage to tell his dad his new life plans and grappling with finally feeling attracted to someone after confirming his demisexual identity. Add a demon setting up shop in Everett's grandma's house and you have a perfect set up for these two to figure things out, while surviving some VERY SCARY SITUATIONS. I adored this book. All Charish Reid's hallmarks are there: great banter, fantastic spice, and a well-built world. If you know me, you know that I am very easily scared but I do think it's not just me and there are genuine scares in here! I screenshot so many great lines but I'm not sharing them since they are spoilery! You'll just have to read it yourself! 5 stars!
Much like book 1 this book is atmospheric and plays with the reader's senses. For instance unexplained thumping, scratching, or sudden coldness. If you believe in ghosts/demons the descriptions make you a bit paranoid, or I'm an immersive reader so I was having bodily responses because of the descriptions. Either way, these beings aren't the ones you are happy that are around, they mean to do harm. The author inserts a virgin sacrifice and before you roll your eyes wait until you get there. It might not be what you're expecting. All around the build-up to the face-off was pretty stressful but the resolution was hard-earned. The last thing, I appreciated that Helen's ADHD was used as a strength in developing her witchy abilities. It feels like a book 3 might be on the table.
Thank you to Charish Reid for sending me an e-arc in exchange for an honest review. Book out on March 19, 2024
CN: paranormal activity, unexplained illness and death, microagressions, blood use, strangulation, strained parental relationship, loss of a parent
I love it when I happen upon a really delightful, innovative, blistering hot book like this. It's the second of two and although you could probably forego the first, why deny yourself? So it starts out as cosy paranormal romance but then adds just a dash of horror. The premise is: two sisters in their late 30s inherit their granny's Victorian B&B in a small town in Upstate New York, only to discover that the place is haunted and they're hereditary witches. In the first book, "I'll Come Back for You," they clean house. In this second book, they start on the town. While (did I mention?) having blistering hot sex.
Which leads me to the sole "could be better": Clusters of typos, mostly in the sex scenes. Kids, proofreading mind-blowing sex scenes should only be undertaken by trained professionals.
4.25 stars. at first, I wasn’t totally sold on it! I really liked how the first one was a little more serious and more on the scary side. This one was a little more silly, giving me cozy mystery/ horror vibes! But after a while Everett (I think that’s how you spell it lol) grew on me. I found him so sexy with how he just wanted to please her and learn to what she likes in her partners. I even enjoyed reading about him and his father troubles. I almost teared up during their talk and how they wanted to fix their broken relationship. Overall, a really great story. It gave me the small town feels that I love in a story. Highly recommend the duology if you like Twitches, Gilmore girls and charmed!
3.5. There was a lot I liked about this book, it was a really quick and fun spooky read. But also so much was happening so fast the romance in particular felt really rushed. Both characters had so much going on that really felt glossed over. I found this book interesting and enjoyable but I think I would of liked it more if it was a little longer and we could explore all of the storylines and feelings of the characters a bit more. For example I am not sure what I was expecting but
This is definitely a book to read during the daytime! The authors way of writing the scary bits are seriously effective. Because why was my grown ass hiding under the blanket while reading this?!
After reading “I’ll come back for you” I was super excited to find out there was going to be a second book where Helen gets to explore her magic potential further. This definitely did not disappoint.
I sure hope a book 3 is on the table because I can’t get enough of these sisters!
This is my first supernatural romance of this kind and I absolutely loved it! I couldn’t put it down and I hope Charish Reid keeps on writing these witchy romance books. It’s everything you’ll love. Sexual tension, a chilling mystery, demon banishment, Neurodivergent rep, spicy scenes. It’s an awesome book
A romantic, scary read! FMC Helen was a steady, warm presence in the book with a deep reserve of inner strength that you root for the whole way through. MMC Everett was a sweet, respectful man (love to see it!). I read the book in one day but should've waited to read the second half in the daylight because yes, this one got scary for me!
This book was much creepier and atmospheric than book 1 in very good ways. I felt more in the story with this one. It felt like Helen was the star of show (which I didn’t mind) and Everett was along for the ride.
I enjoyed and will keep reading the series.
I received an arc in exchange for an honest review
Another banger Halloween romance + witchy vibes + ghost / horror novel from Charish Reid that I could not put down. It’s the perfect blend of everything I’m looking for in a fall/ October read and you should ONE HUNDRED percent read it and it’s fellow duet book.
Helen is a lot of things - a newly established witch, a Michelin trained chef, a b&b owner, the sister of Whitney (the fmc from I’ll Come Back for You), and struggling with her adhd. She also has a mega crush on town hardware store owner (and secret baker) Everett. But Everett’s quiet and Helen can’t stop talking, so it is possible that nothing will ever come from this crush. Until she accidentally does witchy things in front of him, and ties the two together through a magic bond. OH AND Everett’s grandmother’s house is haunted and he desperately needs Helen’s help. Oh and he’s secretly had a huge thing for her too.
This is such a fun crushes to friends to fighting demons together to lovers romance. The adhd representation with Helen was *so* good but also Everett loving her because of that instead of despite it was amazing. Everett is demisexual and therefore inexperienced, and I thought Helen’s understanding and how that manifested in their relationship was so sweet. Everett is also dealing with a struggle in his relationship with his dad and his secret desire to take over his grandmother’s bakery. This story meshed so well with the romance and really added to Everett’s story. AND THEN THE SPOOKY GHOSTS. Literally the haunting was so scary and I loved that I could get a witchy romance AND a scary haunting book in the same book!! And so well done on both fronts!!! Seriously, if you’re getting into spooky reading season you have to check out this book, and Helen’s sister’s book, I’ll Come Back for You!
PEOPLE! listen idk if I want to be a witch or just beg Charish to write even more witchy romance stories. Maybe both.
But this book!! I loved it just as much as I loved the first book in the series. I loved watching Helen manage her ADHD, her self doubts, learning witchcraft and strengthening her powers, and getting into a little sex fog brain spell with the hot lumberjack turned wannabe baker crush while trying NOT to get it on (I would've failed this challenge). I also loved reading Everett's pov, he is SUCH A KIND SOUL!! A SWEETHEART!! PERFECT FOR HELEN!!! And THICK MAN 😝 Who was able to conquer his own internal battles with his father, his insecurities, and finding his own voice. This was such a great read and the sexual tension WAS OFF THE CHARTS! but also they were just so cute and reassuring to each other. That demon they had to deal with creeped the HELL out me (THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU!!). And Henry was so adorable!! Such a cute familiar!
Everything about this book was amazing and thank you to the author for the arc!!
