Folks: If you are sick to your stomach over loud screeching Christmas music and mad dashes to packed stores to buy stupid gifts to people you don't care much about, Kate Landers is your author. Her new book of Christmas-related poetry, A Marvelous Time, will speak to you in loud neon lights.
Kate has summed up the agony and anger that so many people feel every Christmas season. She lets it fly in every poem to make it clear just how little use she has for the holiday season. She's mad as Hell and she's not going to take it anymore.
I don't believe she truly hates Christmas itself. But all the elves and reindeer and Santas and every other wretched excess have moved her to write this outstanding first-class revolt against the entire season.
Even though I am Christian, I still very much enjoyed this effort. It deserves to find a wider audience.
If you want something more than “Ho Ho Ho” for the season, try this book. It contains strong language and offensive artwork, including more than one flipped bird.
A wonderful collection of poems about everything Christmas: the good, the bad, and the ugly (with a definite emphasis on the latter two). Laugh out loud funny in a way that makes you want to read it aloud to your friends and family. I had a marvelous time with A Marvelous Time and so can you!
