Aster Creek #2

Bring It All

Rate this book
Owen West

Sure, Waverley Bennett is undeniably gorgeous with her long black hair and blue eyes that rival the sky. She’s also annoying, smart-mouthed, and oh yeah, my boss’s daughter…but those eyes. It doesn’t matter anyway; I don’t have the time for a relationship. Nothing serious suits me just fine. I’ve got my sister and niece to support, but when my sister takes things too far, I move Annabelle in with me and my cool uncle status goes straight down the drain as I take on temporary guardianship.

When Annabelle begs to take Waverley’s summer reading program at her school, I’m forced to see Waverley treat Annabelle as her own like I wish her mother would. With one night of Waverley taking care of Annabelle, I’m done for. I need her like I’ve never needed anyone before, but she’s got walls and a painful past that makes her hesitant. But I’ll wait; I’ll tear down those walls brick-by-brick.

In no time, Waverley and Annabelle become my world, my home, my family, but my life comes with responsibilities and drama that I shouldn’t put Waverley through. She tells me to bring it all despite her fears, and I think I may just do it.

However, my sister has different plans and now I have to make a decision that I don't want to make. I can't lose either of my girls…I just can’t, but that’s not the hand I’ve been dealt.

So I liked the premise of this book and the plot, Owen’s care for his niece certainly makes up for the way he treats Waverley a bit. What I didn’t like was how quick things went for them. They literally hate each other then a snap of the fingers and they’re in a relationship. It was so weird.

Then they go on a date for the first time (mind you they’re already in a relationship at this point), and she’s already doing stuff with him even though she hasn’t done anything with a man since she was SA’d six years prior. Maybe this would be okay if he had been a friend before then, but they couldn’t stand each other. It also seemed weird. He didn’t work for it at all. Not to mention, of course he’s the town manwhore. It’s insinuated that he hooks up with 2 women from the start of the book until about 35% when he finally takes Wav out, one of the women being her coworker!!! Sure he only ended up taking her out, BUT he did this only because Wav went out with Levi. While they had great banter, it was for such a short amount of time and with all the facts taken into consideration it’s wild to me she does stuff with him on the first date.

So they’re in a relationship pretty early on in the book. We see some plot with Annabelle who is the highlight of this book for me and her relationship with both Owen and Wav. Wav calls Owen honey about 3,000 times and they just keep doing everything but going all the way. Finally they do and it’s a whole lot of that and them just being in a relationship. It got kind of boring. This is between like 30%-80% of the book. So obviously I’m waiting for the big event in the end to happen, which it does.

Owen is blackmailed by his sister, stating that if he wants to get custody of his niece he must break up with Waverley. I will give him credit that he was honest about this with Wav, but once again Owen just felt lacking for me in terms of stepping up for Wav. He lets her leave the house crying, when she gets into a head on collision with you guessed it, his sister. I’ll leave out the details but things wrapped up almost too perfectly for me. I was still annoyed with Owen. The switch up with the POV was nice, but dang it’s always the FMC getting into an accident and then just INSTANT forgiveness 🙄😑. If I have to read one more book where a man doesn’t grovel when it’s called for, I swear I’m throwing my phone.

I gave it three for the side characters and Belley’s relationship with both Owen and Wav. This book had a WHOLE lot of potential, I’ll say that, but ultimately I just couldn’t get there with Waverley and Owen.

HELLOOOOOOO???? How good was this book cause oh my gosh I can’t believe how much I enjoyed it. This story just keep going and brought it some many mixed emotions in me and I literally read it in 2 hours. That’s how good it was. I wasn’t expecting it to be anything other than amazing because I loved the first book in the series but this one just blew me away. Mollie’s writing is just a breath of fresh air but I also always get a sense of home whenever I read her books.

In this second book we are back with the Bennett sisters and this time it’s all about Miss Waverley Bennett herself. She’s the middle child, a school teacher and the beloved daughter of the police chief. Owen West works for her dad and is infuriating but also so irresistible at the same time. When Owen’s niece who he takes care of gets signed up for the summer school program that Waverley teaches at, they’re nudged together and even more so when Waverley starts forming a bond to Annabelle and eventually also Owen.

The small town trope and the community between the characters in this series is just so wholesome and I felt like I was just watching a real small town go about their lives with the hardships and every day struggles that was brought to light especially in this second book. I was so sad at times reading this because of all the stuff that the main characters had gone through or was going through throughout the story. But I always think that the book wouldn’t be the same without it and Mollie put those situations so perfectly down on paper.

wow.

i just can’t describe how much i liked this book. wav and owen’s story was so written so well that you feel the characters so realistically it hurts, their story makes you feel everything at once happiness, heartbreak, and everything in between.

mollie has done it again. she has me obsessed with everything she writes, having the amazing opportunity of being one of her beta readers was truly an amazing experience which made me love wav and owen and the little family they create with little anabelle even more 😭😭

now, let’s talk about Waverly, her character was so relatable and so real that i found myself in her many times and i just loved that :,) her strength and resilience were definitely my favorite things about her

and Owen… well that man is the standard idc he was so determined to be the best man for little anabelle and to make wav see how amazing she is 😭 best man fr

together wav and owen and little anabelle were everything <3

aster creek residents now feel like home to me :,)

I just want to start off by saying thank you author Mollie Goins for giving me the privilege of being an ARC reader for this book.

4.5 stars ⭐️ (I just felt that no matter how much I loved it there was something missing - like the je ne sais quoi (or however it is said))

I have loved every second of this book. I read it in one sitting on New Year’s Day (following an extremely late night) and kept prying my eyes open to make sure I could finish the book and right this review with every detail at the forefront of my mind.

1) I love enemies to lovers and enjoyed how even as they got together they still kept that playful banter.
2) I enjoy nicknames and my heart melts at darlin’ but firecracker is pretty cute too.
3) I love reading because it provides perspective on life experiences I haven’t had (good or bad) and gives me the ability to empathize with those who do. Through literature I am able to connect with people from all walks of life on a more personal and understanding level, so I enjoyed learning about Wav’s trauma. Waverley was raped when she was 16 and being a woman (even though it was hard to read) I liked getting into her head to see how this affected her and what actions of others helped her move forward.
4) Tattoos - I want to get one of my own and I loved reading about their date night when they got meaningful ….. tattooed on their bodies. They both got something they wanted and had a great meaning behind. Also the MMC is a tatted up cop… need I say more (Think about a nice buff dude and tattoos sleeves)
5) Annabelle - she is the cutest and she loves to read! I loved having a young girl in the story to help it progress and add to the plot. She was adorable and she was always getting into a new book. Belley was truly what brought Owen and Waverley together, on purpose and by coincidence.
6) MMCs family is a huge part of the story (but the loss of his dad - although said to play a larger role - is mentioned minimally. I enjoyed how she tied him back in the end showing that Wav was truly listening as Owen spoke that day.) The sister is truly where the story crosses to his family though, because Annabelle is her daughter. I will let you see exactly what I mean when you read this book.
7) This is a series and the first book revolves around another cop working under the chief/mr. Bennett (who happens to be Waverley’s dad well and her sisters) and Win (the oldest of the Bennett sisters). So there is a lot of crossover between the books, and it can be read as a standalone, but you will see progression of the previous couples relationship in this book.
8) FMC has good family relationships that includes “sister piles” that will have you hoping that when your older you will be just as close with your siblings

There is a third act break up but it doesn’t last long. For someone who doesn’t like those it did not bother me.

A couple quotes/moments I loved:

“Annoying you is my love language.” Owen wraps his arms around my waist from behind and kisses my cheek.“Well, you’re fluent in it. Start learning a new language.”

"Okay, cutie, I'm about to introduce you into the world of enemies to lovers. Ready to be forever changed?" I grab the remote and start Princess Diaries 2. "Enemies to lovers? You mean
like you and Uncle Owen?"

I once told myself I would make any sacrifice for
Annabelle. But how the fuck can I do this? I think this one will kill me.

We stay out there watching the rain fall and listening to the thunder until Wav falls asleep. I carry her back inside our house and lie her down in our bed.
As I lie next to her I can't help but feel like her moving in isn't enough. I guess I'll be making a visit to talk to her dad sooner than either of us expected.

“I love you too, Dad”

4.5 ⭐️ although this is the second book in the Aster Creek series, it was my completion of the series since I jumped in at the end of the trilogy. I was so excited to finally see how Owen, Waverley, and Annabelle became a family. It wasn’t an easy road, that’s for sure but it was beautiful in the end. Two chapters particularly had me tearing up, which doesn’t happen too often.

Oh, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t say there was only ONE acceptable outcome for the villain of this story. And praise Jesus we got it! 🙌🏻 (there are witnesses to me celebrating this come to fruition - hands in the air and all!)

Spice - 🌶🌶🌶

Trope - dislike to lovers, small-town romance, Cop × Chief's daughter(teacher), single guardian, 5-year age gap, tattooed MMC, frenemies, she's a bigger grump, steamy, slight drama, family dynamics, jealousy, HEA

TW- Sexual assault survivor, Implications of child neglect and child endangerment, death, addiction(unrelated to Hh)

Not one page in and I was cracking up at how they communicated. Their continuous bickering was pure bliss to read. Waverley describing Owen as a morally gray villain, with dark hair, broad shoulders, tattoos, and 6'3 had me going wild because that's THE MAN!! *HAWT ALERT GOES OFF*

Owen was flirty, but I loved how he silently stood up for Waverley by showing the rude bartender her place. The scene after this, OMFGGG *chef's kiss*. Waverley was strong and independent and took no shit. Her past broke me, but I was proud of how she survived it and turned into a fighter.

Owen and Waverley were true enemies, they would fight each other like Tom and Jerry. It was fun watching their banter, nevertheless, every time I think wow they can have a normal conversation, one of them would say something to piss off the other person and everything would just go down the hill. The jealousy factor was a bonus, it added so much passion to their attraction and then their kiss happened. The kisses that followed their first were so passionate, istg I was giggling and throwing my legs every time. The kiss in the kitchen after her first sleepover had me blushing for hours.

I understood why Chief Bennett gave Owen his indirect blessings in the first instance. He was on team Owen and Waverley from the beginning, and OMG I was happy and stunned at the same time, I loved how he communicated his thoughts and gave Owen the push he required.

If a man looks like Owen, cooks like Owen, treats his women like Owen, and, devours his women like Owen, I WANT THAT MAN. PERIOD. Jealous Owen was a sight to watch regardless I was glad when the author decided to end the almost OMD. Thank god, Levi stepped back because I would've hated to dislike his character. I loved how Levi kept continuously teasing Owen to mess it up, so he could have a shot with her, it was cute friendly bickering and I was happy their friendship wasn't hampered.

I loved how their relationship was pure and away from lust, Owen gave Waverley all the time she needed, and it melted my heart. They would just kiss and not once did I want to see more, that showed their sincerity and how they preferred quality time over anything. Owen making Waverley love her body was another favorite moment. I WAS SWEATING AT THIS MOMENT. Body-positive men, who love you are all one needs. He got a tattoo for her right above his chest, and OMG that's the sweetest gesture. He cooks for her, he gets a tattoo for her, he lets her stay at his house and destroy it, he buys her an outfit and rips it apart later, he calls her a good girl and last but not least he is approved by her dad. He had so many love languages, from words of affirmation to physical touch to quality time to receiving gifts to acts of service. THIS GUYS Y'ALL was the STANDARD. Owen West, please be mine, this guy was IT, he kept raising standards with every chapter and I kept falling for him.

THE SPICE WAS SPICING IN THIS BOOK because I needed a break after every chapter.

The Side characters were again amazing.
♥ Annabelle was such a sweet kid, she was a mini Cupid with a good heart. She was so smart for her age.
♥ Waverley and her sister's bond was so soothing to read, reminded me of my bond with mine and it just made the reading experience better.
♥ Graham was like a protective older brother, and Levi was a good friend. The close-knit friendship between them and Owen was so well written.
♥ Chief Bennett, that man was a good father. I loved how he expressed his emotions and yet carried a firm stance.
Nat- she's not worth mentioning.

THE HAPPY DANCE I DID WHEN SHOULDN'T BE SEEN BY GOD, because I'll probably go to hell for this.

The ending was just beautiful and touching, from watching Winry get married to seeing Owen and Wav start a new phase of their relationship. The parallels drawn between Owen and Chief Beckett were accurate and emotional. I cried my eyes out in the epilogue. Everything was perfect. Can I keep reading this book? I wanna start it again from the top because OMG I fell in love with the characters, the story, and the bond they helped me create with them.

I need time to physically, emotionally, and mentally move forward from this book. It's been a while since I found such a good book, and once again it was an impulsive read which I was skeptical to pick.

I'll be re-reading it endless times.
Overall 5/5 ♾

I’m speechless. Everything about this book was just AMAZING!! I loved reading every single minute of it! Everything was perfect – the plot was well developed, the characters were so well done & the relationships between the sisters were adorably cute!! It’s official – I’m in love with Owen West. I’m so in love with this book & became one of my favorite reads this year.

As soon as both of them got over their frenemies era, they harmonized so well together. I absolutely loved how Annabelle, Owen's niece, called Owen out on picking on Wav because she knew! She just knew something was going on between them and she loved Wav so much! Wav adored Annabelle and gave her so much love as her teacher and soon-to-be Owen's girlfriend. I was completely captivated by the built-up & the moment both of them finally admitted their feelings for each other. I can’t stop thinking about Owen & Waverley – they were perfect for each other!!

Can we please talk about Owen? I LOVE HIM!!! He’s such a protector & caretaker to so many, but also helped Waverley heal from her past trauma – he was so patient and gentle with her. Also, I loved how he took care of his niece Annabelle & dropped everything for her only to make her happy. I adored Belley’s love for books, Owen’s encouragement & his buying her every single book she wants – him leading him buying her a Kindle to feed her reading obsession! I love her so much & she was the secret star

I’m so in love with Waverley – my sweet soft girl, I wanna give a big hug. Despite the trauma she experienced, she is so strong & independent. Also, the special bond she shared with Annabelle was so adorable. I loved how she started girls' night with her including building sister piles with her!! The sister bond between Winry, Waverly & Wyla is so beautiful. They’re always there for each other – no matter what.

Seeing the character development in this book was immense. I loved watching them change from who they used to be a better person overall. One of the main things in this book that stuck out to me was how much Owen cared for his niece, despite his sister barely giving her own daughter the time of day, and then time after time actually both Owen and Waverley made sure that Annabelle knew she was loved.

Annabelle’s POV was so adorable!! Thank you Mollie for this ARC 🩷

This book had me bawling my eyes out at the end oh my lord. I absolutely love a good enemies to lovers book and this one was amazing, even though they got together pretty quickly it still played out beautifully with their banter. I can definitely understand why Waverly and Owen were enemies at the beginning especially with the miscommunication and misunderstanding from their past. The character development throughout this book was honestly very impressive and really inspiring especially with all that both of the main characters have been through and had to learn to overcome. Annabelle is the sweetest little girl and absolutely adorable with her obsession to books and how sweet Owen is to her. I will definitely be rereading this book again. The found family in this book was so beautifully written my emotions were everywhere the whole time reading this book. Thank you to author Mollie for allowing me to ARC read this book. It was simply amazing!

I ate this book up. I was hooked from the first chapter. It’s quite the ride for Owen, Waverly, and Annabelle but they made it in the end. Love the Bennett sisters and the family vibe of this series. This one tugs at your heart.

Book 1 in the series was Mollie’s debut. Her growth as a writer was evident in this book (book 2). I’m excited for book 3.

this series means so freaking much to me and it is all because of mollie herself. i had the honor of beta reading bring it all, and i remember when i was freaking out and bothering mollie needing her to continue to write. i am so happy that owen and waverly are out in the world and that so many people are loving them. these two have such a beautiful connection that you just can’t help but continue to swoon time and time again.

this book follows owen and waverly and throughout this whole story, you see these two time and time again fight that attraction to one another. the way that mollie builds up their story but also gives us moments of them actually dating is literally my favorite thing ever. you see these two build their relationship and learn one another, but you also see them go through so many ups and downs, and let me just say owen is one of the most patient men EVER. he truly loves her and vice versa.

mollie will throw all the twists, your heart will bleed out but then you will be okay (i am still recuperating). i love these two so much and i am so proud of mollie and how far she has come. i cannot wait to see what happens in aster creek in book 3

Thank you SO MUCH to Mollie for an arc of Bring It All. This is book 2 in her Aster Creek series - and I knew after reading book 1 that I would melt for Owen and Waverly. I was definitely not wrong! I blew through this book so quickly because I couldn't put it down. I didn't even stop to highlight anything because I was so invested in the story.

The chemistry and tension between these 2 set my kindle on fire, but what really had me in a puddle was how absolutely SWEET Owen was with both Waverly and his niece, Annabelle. He is without a doubt a top book boyfriend.

Thanks again Mollie for an arc of this book in exchange for my honest review!

LOVE LOVE LOVE

Owen West. That is all. He is perfection. The literal best book boyfriend of all time I swear🥹

Waverly Bennett has been single for most of her life, and she has been frenemies with Owen West for years. Owen is one of her dads officers, but she also has known him most of her life.

The tension between these two is🥵🥵 These two are at each others throats and can never agree on anything. Not one conversation can end without an argument. But when Owen sees Wav with someone else, he realizes he can’t deny his feelings anymore. But does Wav feel the same?!

I loved these two so much. Owen is literally the sweetest MMC and is such a softie for Wav and his niece, Annabelle. Y’all definitely want to read this when it releases!

ARC BOOK REVIEW

Bring It All has to be one of my favourite books so far that I have read this year. The plot was perfectly crafted to hook you in, and the characters were just so loveable.

Thank you, Mollie, for accepting me to be an ARC Reader for your book. In my eyes, it could not have been any more perfect. I loved the whole book, even when you were playing on my emotions when things got rough in the book, but then you mended everything again and made it so much better.

I love enemies to lovers trope. After reading the book through, it is definitely clear to me why Waverley hated Owen's guts in the beginning. Luckily, he has this amazing niece Annabelle, who is also in Waverley's class, who teaches at the school and ends up bringing them together.

There were definitely some very tough times that both of the main characters went through, but the fact they felt comfortable with one another to finally open up about these issues just warmed my heart.

Seeing the character development in this book was immense, and i loved watching them change from who they used to being a better person overall. One of the main things in this book which stuck out to me was how much Owen cared for his niece, despite his sister barely giving her own daughter the time of day, and then time after time actually both Owen and Waverley made sure that Annabelle knew she was loved.

Found Family is also one of my favourite tropes, and Mollie wrote it perfectly that on a few occasions, I did cry. I also loved how, despite their relationship growing, they always kept their firey banter against each other.

I now really need to read the first book of the series to see how those two ended up together as I loved seeing them both in Bring It All. I am especially excited to know what will be coming with the next book in the series!!

I loved Mollie's debut Feel It All, so I was really excited to read this book...and holy moly did it blow my expectations out of the water!! Winry & Graham were so amazing, but Waverly & Owen just took #1 book couple in this universe for me!!

Waverly and Owen have always never gotten along. The only thing they can agree on is taking jabs at one another. After Waverly's older sister gets engaged to Owen's co-worker, the two of them were asked to be the maid of honor and best man in their wedding. Having to put their differences aside to plan a joint bachelor/bachelorette party, the two are forced to spend some time together.

After Waverly gets asked out on a date by Owen's newest coworker, he quickly realizes he doesn't like seeing her with another man. Waverly seems to think there is something missing between the two of them. When Owen kisses her after Waverly helps his niece, she realizes what's missing. Owen.

THIS BOOK - my god did it take me on an emotional rollercoaster. I absolutely love the enemies to lovers trope and Mollie wrote this so well. There were so many little things thrown into this book as well - Annabelle, Owen's Sister, Wav's family, TWISTS & TURNS, and so much crying on my end at the end of this book.

Owen West was the perfect gentleman and had so much respect for Wav. I loved how patient he was with her and how he was all in. The little things he did for her were so sweet. He also had a very dirty mouth, which I was totally here for. Not to mention how he cared for his niece...ovaries were going CRAZY!!

Waverly Bennett was such a cool character. I loved how she took the trauma she went through and used it to help her confidence and not let it affect her. The love she shared with her sisters was so special, and I absolutely adored her relationship with Annabelle.

This book is a MUST read!! Thank you to Mollie for the ARC!!

₊ ⊹”i’m madly, utterly, and insanely in love with you. you’re a part of me, wav, and i couldn’t possibly see any other life than one with you by my side. ”₊ ⊹

*:・゚my thoughts┊ 2.5 stars rounded up! i definitely thought the writing in this was a big improvement from the first book, which was one of my biggest complaints. so that was really nice to see.

i didn’t hate this one, i guess i just didn’t vibe with it fully. i didn’t really understand why waverley and owen “hated” each other for the first quarter of the book, there really didn’t seem to be a solid reasoning behind that besides to fulfill the “hate to love” trope, i guess.

as for the relationship between wav and owen, it was alright. nothing that had me swooning or anything. they got together at like the 30% mark so a huge chunk of the book was them being a couple together, which i don’t really mind but it all felt very repetitive and got boring pretty quickly.

and for the third act conflict and break up… completely unnecessary. what’s the point of having them break up over something that literally gets eliminated in the same chapter, at least draw at out the angst or something. it was there for absolutely no reason at all, which irked me. the conflict was also very similar to the one in the previous book, where a third party person was basically forcing someone to break up with the other for some wild reason.

idk. despite the low ratings i really haven’t been hating these books, but i just haven’t been liking them all too much either. i feel pretty indifferent about them, i guess. i’ll probably pick up the third (and last?) book that comes out later this year because it has age gap and second chance, which are two of my fav tropes, so we’ll see! hopefully everything continues to improve and i end up liking that one!

WOW… just wow.

Thank you Mollie for the opportunity to read an ARC copy of this book, my expectations were absolutely exceeded!

I was not ready for how much I was going to love this book! I finished it in about 4 hours… staying up way past my bedtime to finish because I could not put it down! lol

Waverley and Owen are so so cute! Both of them going through and overcoming their own life challenges together was so real and wholesome.

The enemies to lovers trope normally isn’t my favorite, but I absolutely loved this one and how their relationship developed. The best part of these books, aside from the fiery banter, is when they are able to admit their feelings for each other, and this was no exception!

The writing was fast-paced but still provided a lot of detail and complexity to the plot. There was never a time where I was bored reading this! There was also a good plot to spice ratio.

Overall, the character and relationship developments, along with Annabelle, was amazing and the ending literally had me in tears! 🥹

Mollie smashed this one!! Definitely have this at the top of your list for this year! 🫶🏼

I was so excited to read this book because it has some of my all time favourite tropes in it 🤭

OWEN!! Oh my god that man is pure perfection 🤭 we love a man whos patient and understanding 🤤

THAT. ENDING. Oh my god it had me absolutely bawling my eyes out 😩 im a sucker for a wholesome ending

Overall, i will definitely say the start was iffy to get into and it could have been shorter but other than that i loved the main characters so much and i especially loved little Belley, i would kill! For a book about her in the future 🤭. I also have a few guesses for the next book and i think that will definitely be super interesting too 😏

Thank you so so much @author_molliegoins for giving me an arc copy of this beautiful story. I cant wait to read more of the series in the future 🥹💗

I completely devoured this book! It was AMAZING! I loved reading every single minute of it! The plot was well developed, and the story was fast paced. I was glued to my kindle! Once I started, I just couldn’t put it down!

Owen and Waverley start off as frenemies. The banter between these two was fantastic! I loved the build-up and the moment they finally admitted their feelings for each other. It was such a beautiful love story! Owen and Waverley were just perfect together!

I absolutely LOVED Owen! He is definitely my new top tier book boyfriend! He was so gentle and patient with Waverley! I also loved how he was with his niece, Annabelle! I adored Waverley! She was so strong and independent. I loved the special bond she shared with Annabelle! I also love the relationship she shares with her sisters and how they are always there for each other!!

There were so many sweet, funny, and spicy moments throughout the story! This book did an excellent job at balancing the light-hearted moments with the more heaver topics.

Waverley is a grade 6 teacher & Annabelle West, Owen West's niece, is her student. With Owen being Annabelle's guardian, he has to pick her up & drop her off at school every day, but that's a challenge because Owen & Waverley absolutely despise one another. But that slowly changes when Owen witnesses the way Waverley cares for his beloved niece...

I loved this book & genuinely couldn't put it down. It was fast-paced, entertaining, charming, lighthearted, low on drama, steamy, & addictive, and for at least the first 80% of the book it's all sunshine & rainbows, & there is so much joy & fun that comes with reading the book, but then the last 20% is when the tears hit LMAO. Don't even get me started on the epilogue because I couldn't breathe😭❤️‍🩹

Waverley (Wav) was a freaking sweetheart! The way she loved Annabelle like her own child was so wholesome. She was generous, kind, & very loving, & I loved her feisty/sassy attitude towards Owen before they started dating. Owen was SO charming. He also cooks, so bonus points🤭 this man was so responsible, generous, selfless, patient, mature & caring, & the way he loved, protected & cared for both his niece & Wav was so hot!!

The tension & animosity between Owen & Wav was suffocating- I was obsessed. Add in Wav going on dates with Owen's friends before they started dating & I was dying at the anger & jealousy coming from Owen & bleeding through the pages🤭 Their banter was brilliant & I loved how confident & safe Owen made Wav feel.

Also, I've never read a single parent book where the child is given their own pov, so I really loved that this book included
Annabelle's POV ba) how cool & different is that?!

Read if you like: enemies to lovers, single guardian, small town, nieces teacher, cop mm, boss's daughter, frenemies

Thank you Mollie for this arc in exchange for my honest review🩷

Did I find this book on TikTok? Yes. Did I know a certain part would happen? Also yes. Did I still cry my heart and soul out at the part? Absolutely.

I cannot say enough good things about this book. I finished this book in one sitting, I could not put it down. It was that good to me. I also liked the level of spice in this book. It wasn’t overly descriptive but had just enough depth in those scenes.

While this is the second book in the series, I didn’t feel lost reading it. There were references to the first book but enough context that you didn’t need to read the first book to fully grasp what was being referenced. I do think I’ll go back and read the first book!
