What I love about this book is the BDE it gives me and how it gives me BDE, not just about myself as a professional in the workplace, but also as a person. I think something I have always struggled with through my career is that I see the workplace version of myself is very separate from the person. I am outside of work and in a way this book helped open my eyes to seeing how I can be my full self at work and career as well
I honestly had rather low expectations of the book because I felt like the women described were so different from my personal situation, but I ended up finding really amazing and key sites and takeaways from each of their stories
I really loved the takeaways from the last section Rebecca and I want to re-listen to this to keep refreshing my BDE high
I would listen to this audiobook when driving to work to help hype me up for the workday
In general, I love the positive energy that Mel Robbins radiates and genuinely feels like my personal cheerleader on my side
This was one of the top books I've read this year. Its aim is to provide career advice to women, as research shows most of the career advice targeted to men doesn't quite work for women.
I wanted some inspiration and came away with tons of actionable advice. Most importantly, advice that I've been able to start implementing right away.
Having trouble saying no? Feeling invisible? Not being appreciated for the work you do? Lacking confidence? Not sure how to get to the next level? Mel covers it all and then some. Definitely a must read.
I got the audio book and has been an amazing journey listening to it during my long drives from/to my home village I got to learn a lot about myself and found myself in every coaching session with every amazing lady Mel has coached in this book and i loved the last part the most. Very motivational audio book and i loved Mel’s style. I think i will need to listen to it again after a while and i already recommended it to some friends. Many thanks to the amazing soul that gifted it to me; such an amazing gift
The first is about attaching personal value to perceived busy-ness, something that can be learned in childhood. Feeling not enough if not busy and doing too much to give self meaning—patterns to break. Powerful shadow work.
The second is about visibility and why one may feel "taken advantage of" at work. Executive presence = confident vibes, speak up & show up. Permission to take up space, especially as a BIPOC woman. Failing up and not failing down.
Besides the Let Them Theory book, this May by far be my favorite Mel Robbins book. It does like the podcast situation where she talks to some people that has submitted needing help. I loved how she responded to them and then went back over, and even play clips, from the interview. It made me learn more about being a confident person at work and getting what I want if I am not happy.
🎧 Dang, so many amazing takeaways!! I’m going to ask that HG and the kids listen to it, too. Anyone that’s working or wants to be working can benefit from the many nuggets of wisdom in this book.
