Mango Lucky

Rate this book
Have you ever been on a lucky streak? The kind where no matter what you do, you come out a winner? In this sequel to Mango Bob , we discover that Walker is on one of those lucky streaks and just about everything around him is turning up roses. But things are rarely as they seem, and as in real life, good luck often comes with an unexpected price tag and lots of problems. In this case, Walker drives his motorhome, aka The Love Bus, to Florida’s Treasure Coast and encounters a cast of wacky characters while searching for long lost gold on the beach. Mango Lucky is the second book in the Mango Bob series, a rollicking adventure set in the Sunshine State, featuring Walker, Mango Bob, and the Love Bus. No graphic violence, no explicit sex, just a fun story with likable characters. You'll be glad you read it.

2nd book in the Mango Bob series and I gotta say for a book where not much really happens, I loved it.
The characters are awesome, the plot flows flawlessly, and the chemistry between all the characters is simply terrific. Like I said, other then a tropical storm and a missing dog, not much happens. I was convinced there would be a double cross along the way, but if it happens I'm not gonna say

I can usually go for this kind of light hearted book while I’m sitting on a beach in Florida. The first one was cute, but this one started to wear down quickly. I know that when you write a series you want to catch first time readers up on what happened previously, but the repetition was excessive.

My second "Mango Bob" book. I like these little mysteries, even if it is distressing that the author and/or editor doesn't know the difference between "its" and "it's," one of my pet peeves! Also, I like the main character, Walker, but too many fortuitous things happen to give him heaps of money so he doesn't have to work for a living. Nevertheless, these are cute, light reads and I want to continue the series.

Oh, my! I really loved Mango Lucky! I cannot wait for another installment. Of course, the story only contains Mango Bob. It's really about "Lucky" Walker and his adventures. Clean wholesome fun book. I wish there were a ton of them like this out there!

these are not really self-contained stories but more like a magazine serial...walker is a nice guy and this time around the women take advantage of that but he still comes out way ahead as the luckiest man around

Couldn't finish

I reread the first book and found I was unable to add to my original review. I decided to try this book and see if my opinion changed. It did not. I really dislike the female lead character. In the first book she was pushy as hell. In this one she acts like its all Walker's fault she feels smothered, even though she is the one who insisted on a. his wardrobe (which by the way would have cost him half what he paid at Bealls for almost the same stuff he could have bought at the local Wal-Mart had she taken him there instead), b. basically browbeat him into working for her, c. gave him nothing in return for bringing her her cat that she wanted to wait to see the first time AFTER they ate the dinner she made him pay for, d. in this book she is still making him pay. He in return is turned into a lap dog that does anything she asks. Decent writing, unlikeable characters. Don't know what I saw in the books the first go around.

Myers is proof that someone doesn't have to die on every page, the mafia and the FBI aren't lurking behind every door and serial killers do not have to live next door, for a book to be interesting. Good story telling is, though and we have that here. Walker and Mango Bob head to the east coast of Florida to do some metal detecting and maybe find treasures from a Spanish galleon. He meets Anna, another metal detector user and together they wait out a storm. No real suspense but an enjoyable read.

THE Mango Luckiest!

A cute feel good story with lots of details about metal detecting for treasure in Florida. Walker needs to become a pal of mine bc he sure is the luckiest of charms! And what a nice guy!!
The stories aren't deep and mysterious but they keep me intrigued with the cliff hangers at the end of each chapter. I'm so hooked on Mango Bob that an orange stray cat in my neighborhood is now called "Mango" as I already named another feral cat "Bob" due to his stumpy tail. 😺🐈🍍

Great!!

I have just recently been turned on to the idea of RVing full-time but I'm 78-79(almost!) Years young, and have a bed-bound wife, it's out of the question at this time. These stories go a great distance in helping me enjoy the fantasy of the live style even if all I can do is hobble around my present home. I would love to see a combined into one book type of arrangement.

Bill sure can pen a story

I rarely read the same book twice but I have on this occasion.

I bought the first five in the series when they came out and read I think the first three back then.

Been busy with life, work and raising a family, still am.

But once again I’m reading the mango bob series.

Bill has a really engaging style and I would recommend this series to anyone.

Book 3 coming up.

Really enjoyed this.

Fictional story with RV life a central theme

I’ve read two of the books in the Mango Bob Series and have enjoyed them both. The main character lives in a motor home and runs into interesting women, cats ( Mango Bob), vas guys and good guys. You get a feel for life in an RV in Florida. Just a nice read. I am continuing the series as the first two books have me hooked.

Another fun time with Walker and just a bit of Mango Bob. This is an easy read. Walker seems to be lucky with everything but women. I enjoyed the treasure hunting and now have a real drive to travel the country in an RV. I was gifted the rest of the series and look forward to reading more after a break.

This fun series continues with more adventures and interesting characters. Treasure hunting on the beach plus a raging storm plus one smart dog add up to some interesting situations. Great descriptions of Florida's beaches made me able to visualize exactly what Walker was seeing and doing.
Very enjoyable book.

Very easy and quick read. MHO is that there really isn't a plot, protagonist or antagonist, it is just a story in the life of a guy named Walker who is taking care of a cat named Mango Bob. I think the purpose is to strech a much longer and deeper story about Walker and the cat through a series of books. 11 I think so far.
They are fun to read, remind me of Elmore James..

This is the second in this delightful series of Mano Bob, his adventures and travels in a motor home. The story is light, fast, sweet. You travel along in the motor home not sure what you will expect, or people you will meet. It is a fast easy read with a lead character that is clueless when it comes to woman. Just smile as you read!

A lottery ticket ends up worth $16,000 (he had given it away), his former company pays him a lot to keep his mouth shut about things and a thug tries to rob a guy.

Sarah wants him to get a metal detector so he does and his 'lucky' moniker gets expression. There's a missing dog, some torn up plants, a missing ring and another move to a new place.

A neat addition to the series.

Slowly getting better...

I just started this genre and this series. The first book was a bit painful, but it was good and did get me to the second book. The character grows on you and the writing is getting better :). A good easy weekend read.

Mango Lucky

This is the third book of the 11 book series Mango Bob books that I've read so far and it didn't disappoint. Like the others it grabbed from the start and held your attention all the way through. About to start my fourth book.

Good "up " read.

The hero finally has some good luck, finds a dog and a hot girl. . Technically well written, accurate. I wanted it to last longer and the guy a lot more aggressive , definitely has sexual problems.

Mango Lucky continues the simply told and positive story of Walker and Mango Bob. This is a feel good story with a main character who seems to always do the right thing. A very quick read recommended if you want to read something slightly uplifting.

I have been on a cozy mystery kick of late. The Mango Bob series is a bit outside of the normal cozy style in that our central character is a man and this book didn't even have a murder mystery, just a lost pet. I plan to read on in this series.

Horray for metal detecting

The book was a complete surprise. Metal detecting is my hobbies and in fact the subject of a book I wrote. The accuracy of the references to detecting were spot on and made the story line believable.

Sad to say the clunky writing hasn’t improved from the first book. Very sad to say that the plot is all but nonexistent. Little more than a series of inconsequential events linked to one another by Google Map directions—turn left on. Hi way X, turn right on Y Avenue, etc.

Reading entertainment!

Not sure this book had a point, but it was a very entertaining read, just like the first. I will likely continue the series, slowly, when I want a relaxing, quick, read.

Mango Bob &Jake

Loved this book. I lived about 6 miles north of Sebastian Inlet State Park for over 40 years. It was going home again and revisiting many places I knew. Thanks for taking me along for the ride and for finding the treasure I never could

easy reading

I have just stumbled upon these books & read the first two of the series.
I like the main character & his companion & the book is easy to read.
Very far fetched at times, but they are good to read.
