Their Fighting Chance At A Forever -
I have usually loved reading Cami Calvin’s books, but this was just very different and threw me for a loop. The main characters were very interesting and the steamy moments were exciting, but I really don’t know what was missing from the storyline. However, I can confirm it was a good read and I am glad I read it. I will still be happy to recommend it.

Grumpy Grinch 2 by Cami Calvin is a continuation of last year's Billionaire Grumpy Grinch's story. It is the other half of the story from last year. It is what happened between Dean, Jenna's older brother, and Lexi, her best friend during the unusual blizzard that almost ruined their Christmas at the cabin by the Lake. In book 1, Dean and Lexi went to town to get food and supplies before the storm was expected to hit. They were stranded in town for several days when the storm was worse than expected and the roads were closed.
In this book we learn that Dean and Lexi have been secretly texting and talking with each other since meeting over the summer at Jenna's birthday party at the same lake. They hit it off immediately and spent 6 months getting to know each other long distance, each hoping to make their relationship "official" after this trip. They spent too much time at the store in town enjoying their time alone so when trying to drive back to the cabin with the supplies, they couldn't. The storm had gotten too bad. Visibility was limited and the roads too dangerous to drive safely. They got a motel room for the night expecting to get back to the cabin the next morning but that was not to be. We witness the ups and downs Dean and Lexi experienced during those few days that almost torpedoed their budding romance. Their story was anything but smooth sailing.
The story was enjoyable and interesting but I found it at times confusing due to the timeline jumping around. Their story is being relayed by Dean and Lexi to Jenna and Gabe over a year later during a visit in NYC. The story includes time at Jenna's Birthday party the summer before last, the Christmas Weekend last year and the present year, not in chronological order. The story jumps around and I found myself getting confused a few times but I figured it out and overall enjoyed the book. It was nice to get the rest of the story from that Christmas and to learn what had happened in their lives since that trip. We got to experience not just 1 HEA but 2 in the end.

Grumpy Grinch 2 tells the back story of Dean and Lexi from My Billionaire Grinch. While each book may be read as a standalone, it makes for a better reading experience when paired.
Jenna, her best friend Lexi, her brother Dean, and his best friend Gabe are spending Christmas at their cabin on Lake Lanier, Georgia, close to the quaint town of Flowery Branch. Dean and Lexi are headed into town to pick up supplies before the snowstorm hits, but unfortunately the roads become too treacherous on their way back and they are forced to return to town, leaving Jenna and Gabe, who clearly don’t get along, or so we are led to believe, alone at the cabin for the night.
After a night of mind-blowing sex in a less than pristine motel room, Dean and Lexi head out to the cabin once again, only this time they run off the road in the continuing storm and are forced to walk back towards town but instead seek shelter in an abandoned barn. What happens next is a series of mishaps, misunderstandings, and holiday kindnesses that fuel the exciting plot to its surprise ending.
Cami Calvin seamlessly blends the two stories together as the couples continue to be tightly knit friends and now relatives. If you’re in the mood for sexy holiday romance, I heartily recommend this series, so turn on the fire, grab a cup of hot cider, and enjoy!

In Book 2 of the Grumpy Grinches series, we get to hear all about Dean's and Lexi's adventures, past and present. I really enjoyed the first book about Jenna and Gabe and wasn't sure if I would fall in love with the main characters of this story, at first. I do like how the author takes us back in time to catch us up on everything that happened with Dean and Lexi while, in Book 1, Jenna and Gabe were struggling to get along and deal with their unfortunate circumstances at the same time. It's interesting to discover that now, in Book 2, Dean and Lexi weren't just all cozy and blissfully happy while they were separated from the other 2 and the destination cabin at Lake Lanier...in fact, while everything started out almost like a romantic jaunt to get supplies for the four of them to celebrate Christmas in the cabin, ended up being filled with trials and tribulations and learning how to take their long distance relationship over the past 6 months to real life and in person... it ended up being harder than they both anticipated. Just when they thought they just might not be right for each other after all they were forced to put their disagreements aside and deal with a very life altering situation of their own. Apparently, it's times like these when you really get to know the person you're with...

Billionaire Grumpy Grinch required read before this Christmas themed sequel featuring Lexi and Dean returning for a more behind the scenes story. As we continue with a very pregnant Lexi and husband Dean, they tell Dean’s younger sister 5 months pregnant, Jenna (Lexi’s best friend) and her husband Gabe, Dean’s best friend, what happened while they were stranded in town from the previous years snowstorm at the cabin. This is a flashback type of story but with a present ending.

A continuation of the love story for the best friend, this is the love story for the best friend who falls in love with her friend's brother. It was well written and definitely a happy ending. The couple goes through their ups and downs but love wins in the end.

Dean and Lexi have been sexting for six months, now they are meeting up again. Can their relationship work face to face. When they run in to some wintery difficulties, Dean turns into a Grinch, now they are sniping at each other. This is a romantic read with strong characters.
