Nothing more than a pawn in her father’s quest for money and power, 22-year-old Natalia is set to be married to strengthen relations with another crime family. When an opportunity presents itself to seek help from Nikolai Petrov, she doesn’t waste it.
The plot of the story was very promising and combined some of my favorite tropes and kinks. However, this one didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I will read the author again and hope that I connect better with the next story.

This is the first part of a multi novella arc of a story concerning the Petrov family.
Not a big fan of the massive age gap in this book and did not know it would be this large. It's a novella so there is not a lot of time to develop a lot of the aspects of the characters and plot points fully either.
Nikolai is the boss of Natalia's father and one of his oldest friends so when she basically shows up demanding help he hesitates but then quickly proceeds to do so..
We get a few reveals and shocks concerning Natalia's upbringing and life so far under her father’s rule. Her fate was sealed by him and at first you wonder how he could ever do it or allow things to happen, but it all makes sense later on.
Nikolai is able to help Natalia leave the past and give her a future.
We also get a small bit of info of his sons and what to expect from their books.

The first installment of The Petrov Family is a hot and wild ride! M.A. Cobb sets the tone for this series with her brilliant writing and storytelling. Make sure to read the trigger warnings because she is a master at adding those perfectly executed darker themes and descriptions. Loved every part of this, especially Daddy Nikki ;)

Let me start off by saying that this is my first book by M.A. Cobb and I'm so insanely happy that it was the Petrov family because boy, oh boy, was this pure gold!
Natalia has been forced fed drügs and incoherent whenever someone is around. She's also been sold to a man via a contract. This poor girl has been put through the ringer! But one night, she escapes and falls right into the lions den, aka Nikolai Petrov's lap!
Nikolai is not sure what he should do when she shows up because she is the daughter of his best friend, but once she starts explaining everything, he feels a pull to her and knows he can't let go.
The chemistry between these two is 🥵 and how he breaks her and brings her back to surface level is something that can not be explained.
Also!! Please, for all things holy, be sure to check triggers because this one is heavy! And some parts I even cringed, hahaha.
I've fallen in love with these two, and I would seriously love a full-length novel about them 🖤

Oh Nikolai Petrov. The daddy, no literally the dad of the Petrov family, but he is also "daddy" if you know what I mean.
Listen I am going to be honest with you, I have read Mikhail Petrov and Roman Petrov. I LOVED them both. And I wanted to completed the rest of the novellas in this anthology, so here we are... I want to preface that these are my opinions and the way I felt about the book is solely based on the fact that I am not a huge fan of large age gap relationships. I know you are probably like then why did you read this one, well because I am insane and need to read a full series/anthology when they are interconnected. And since I read all of his son's books, I felt like it was necessary to read about the man who created them.
My problem with this book was the large age gap. To me it was an ick. I mentally tried to ignore it by thinking they were both 30. But the large age gap mixed with the daddy and breeding kink, it was just too much. And I love both of those kinks. But some of the things that were said just gave me the massive ick. In fact there as a few moments where both of these kinks were in play that made me physically uncomfortable. And I think this would be one that you will either like or dislike. But for me it wasn't my fave out of all the books. And like I said I think it is solely based on personal preferences. I would have liked it more if the age gap wasn't 30+ years. It just felt like the author tried to include too many things in the anthology.
Now don't let this review deter you from this anthology because this anthology was great! I loved the premise of the Russian mafia family. And all of the son's were perfect. I was kinda of sad they were novellas and not full length novels.

I was excited to go in and start this novella just because two of my favorite authors will also be participating in these novellas(each their own books)
i've never read anything by this author but god this book was so cringey. I gagged multiple times throughout this book
i love a good age gap but this one was just too much for me and i know i could've dnf'd but i was already committed and this is a short read so i had to see it through my boy.
back to the point, the spice was great but the daddy kink usually doesn't gross me out but it did w this one :(
and the whole santa thing???? yuck

⭐️ARC Review⭐️
This novella was a quite a ride. The first installment of The Petrov Family anthology is just the beginning of this story of family, business, love, and a lot of spice 🌶️. I did enjoy this as it was a fun quick read, however I do think sometimes it was getting confusing (just my opinion). Also it was really difficult to picture what Nikolai looked like for me so it took away some of the enjoyment. I do know that I am very excited for the rest of the stories about the sons and the continuing storyline of family business.

Read this novella because I want to read the rest in the anthology but I honestly think I could’ve skipped it. The language was very cringey to me and I also didn’t love that the FMC was coming down off of a drug addiction and all Nikolai could think about was getting his 🍆 wet.

Loved this age gap mafia romance. It had the perfect dash of daddy/baby girl. I was swooning every time he went into protective mode over her. Literally touch her and perish 💀

The flow in this book is completely off. It’s as if random scenes were put together but never integrated. There is no background or feeling and it’s lacking in any real story. The FMC is this frail weak thing who after being drugged and caged for 4 years somehow escapes and having zero experience falls into bed with her dads boss? And she starts calling him Daddy but they have nothing that would remotely resemble anDD/lg relationship. There is graphic details on how he kills her father which was actually well written but again it’s not good.

Daddys best friend who is a mafia boss??????? OK PHEWWWW LORDDDY! This steamy dark romance was very much giving!!! The Russian names?? Yes yes yes!!! What do you mean the male main character is named Nikolai Petrov??? SEE HOW NICE IT ROLLS OFF THE TONGUE? Yeah i was obsessed with saying his name out loud every time. Anyway, this book was a short novella introducing the father of the Petrov family, Nikolai. Wife passed away, has sons running the empire alongside and living up the Petrov name and well he so happens to stumble on situation himself where he is brought to care for his best friends daughter.. it wasn’t by permission more like Natalia was escaping her step-mothers torture. Natalia, our female main character, was going through her own demons at home. Being forced on drugs (caused her to have withdrawals), tortured and being promised to betroth her step-mother’s own brother. GROSS I KNOW. But anyway, she decides to run away and hide in Nikolai’s car after he visited his best friend’s home and recalls Nikolai saying he would keep her safe. Little did Natalia know is Nikolai is the lion and she just entered his den. Things get steamy… LIKE VERY MUCH SPICE EVERY CHAPTER GOING FORWARD AND WELL… you should definitely read the rest to find out what I’m talking about!!!! Love me a good spicy filled book with an age gap LIKE OK SILVER FOX!

3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 On daddy Nikolai as sad as I am to say that. I do love age gap so that wasn't an issue as all for me!
For me personally the writing just wasn't what I was looking for. There were a few moments during the smut scenes that the verbiage gave me the ick and I couldn't stop laughing. Now the story itself is fine! I do feel like there were a lot of great shock factor moments and I love that Nikolai is so protective and possessive over our FMC Natalia!
Natalia escapes her home via Nikolai's car one night after years of being forced to drugged by her stepmother. She leaves her gilded cage for a lion's den. And from here we have a lot of kinky smutty moments! I know that ending with the revenge they get on Natalia's father and step mother had me like 😮🤯.
I am still very excited for the rest of the Petrov family, so far I've read Roman and Nikolai!

Nikolai is the incarnation of what I would call Daddy. He is commanding and in charge but loving and worshiping to Natalia and for her, that’s and his protection are all she needs. 🥹

I was in such a slump that nothing could hold my interest.. until I picked up this beauty!! This was a delicious mafia romance filled to the brink with trope checklists!! If you're looking for a Mafia setting with g0r€ and sp1c€ and so much more.. Definitely pick up and read about daddy Nikolai. Talk about a burnt to the crisp cinnamon roll.

Loved it!!! Quick and fun read! I’ve always been a fan of mafia and age gap romances. This one is definitely up there on my list, especially for novellas. I loved the spice and loved the story!! Be sure to check the trigger warnings. Who doesn’t want to sit on Santa’s lap?? Daddy Nikolai 🥵🥵🥵

The patriarch of the Petrov family, Nikolai's story is a dark read. It's a dark mafia story so check the trigger warnings. Watching Nikolai open his heart again and fall in love with Natalia was wonderful. If you enjoy dark mafia stories, then I suggest you check out this novella.

Let me say first that this is my first book by M. A. Cobb and i liked it.
Natalia has been forced and been fed drugs by her stepmother. Her father also sold her to a man via contract. Natalia wants to escape from all of this and takes the opportunity and falls in the hand of Nikolai Petrov. What should go wrong when your escape plan ends up to hide in the car of the lion. 🤔🤐
Have to say i liked it, it was a short, quick and hooot read. The chemistry and tension between Nikolai and Natalia is on top 🥵🥵.

A super dark, violent and spicy mafia novella that will speak directly to your unhinged dark romance heart.
If you like your mafia books gruesome and your men so morally gray they're practically black, then this book is for you. This book reminded me that I do have boundaries and feelings, and it's exactly what I was hoping for.
I recently finished Nero by SJ Tilley and my unhinged soul was left needing a story that was **darker**, and this answered that need. So if you read Nero and felt like you needed to meet his deranged uncle, this is that book.

The flow is this book was way off. The timing made zero sense and most parts either didn’t connect at all or were just left off and never mentioned again. Zero actual conflict in the characters life so there was no growth in the characters. Also some of the lines said were so cringy that I almost DNFed it. I think the only reason I finished is because it was short and it helps me get closer to my reading goal.

The daddy of the Petrov men and his “little bird” is an age-gap relationship like no other I have read so far and had me rooting for them all along the way. These characters have amazing chemistry and have you pine for ‘Daddy’ Nikolai. This book hits all the right marks with it being short, and to the point for its length, and has the perfect balance of violence, spice and romantic fawning.
Highly recommend the Petrov Family Dark Mafia Romance Novella, Nikolai is the first book released in the series, however, you can read them in any order, as they all connect with the same timeline of arriving at the family Christmas at the end of the book. These books are short and spicy as they were originally meant to be in one combined novella but were changed to be released separately by each independent author.
