Get ready to snort laugh into your seasonal coffee with the hilarious holiday romantic comedy, Santa's Baby. Phoebe Fox, media manager for a rock band and single mom to the surprise baby she conceived last Christmas, is spending this holiday season tracking down the Santa who got her pregnant and giving him the chance to know his son. And if she gets to replay the single best night of her life when she finds him, well, that's even better. Archer Fade, factory owner and occasional Santa Claus impersonator, is so focused on improving the culture at the toy factory he inherited that romance isn't on his radar, never mind that he can't get the runaway bride from that amazing night a year ago out of his head. When Phoebe finds Archer, a chance meeting makes her think he has a gorgeous model girlfriend, and she leaves her hopes of a repeat rendezvous aside in favor of helping him be a dad to their son. So what happens when she finds out he's actually single and just as interested in repeating their one night as she is? And that he has a few naughty surprises of his own?
With a full cast of quirky friends and relatives, a naughty case of mistaken identity, a side of (baby) potty humor, a couple of overbearing parents whose attempts to meddle threaten to ruin it all, and Christmas ornaments that are more than they seem, this is one holiday romcom that definitely belongs on your Nice List this Christmas. 18+
I’m a Canadian spicy rom-com author, lifelong book lover, coffee addict, and nap aficionado who’s lived in four provinces (BC, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and my current home, Alberta). My writing journey started just five years ago, and my debut novel, Second Chance, was the first book I had the courage to publish. You can grab it for free at your favourite digital retailer!
My passion lies in writing spicy, feel-good romantic comedies filled with swoon-worthy cinnamon roll heroes and strong, relatable female heroines, with the odd cameo from other characters in the same world. I want my books to make you swoon, sigh, and laugh until you cry (and maybe pee your pants a little).
✨ Christmas vibes 🎄 ✨ An almost-bride has Santa's baby and looks for him a Christmas later 👰🏼♀️🎅🏼👶🏼 ✨ Second chance romance ✨ Family dynamics ✨ Cool uncle ✨ 💩 cackling scene with the baby ✨ They're smitten for each other ✨ 2.5/5 🔥
The romance is a slow burn, but waiting for them to get together was not tedious at all because of her family dynamics and baby Lincoln. There were scenes where I couldn't stop laughing. Every scene with Santa and his baby was so cute and fluffy and heartwarming 🩵 If I have to find a minor issue with something in this book is the high 🔥 expectation I had because of the whole sex toy company owner trope. I thought they were going to a higher spice level.
This really was like an amazing Hallmark Christmas movie with a little side of spice toward the end.
Cute. ✨
Also: seeing as we were introduced to a lot of characters and there were hints of flirtings here and there I might guess the author will drop other stories in this universe in the future. If so, I'm ready to read every following 📚🤓
The fact that our Santa in this story is a literal toy maker - he owns a whole company of *very, very fun* adult toys - and we see NONE of them in action except for a couple a little glimpses is a travesty! Also, I don't know if it can be ocnsider a slow burn if this is an accidental pregnancy/ one night kind of thing but -omg- it felt sooooo slow on the uptake. Like, inching fowards even when they both wanted to stomp their foot on the accelerator and fly into each other. Their chemistry was so obvious it felt so torturous to not see them together sooner.
Archer has recently taken over the family business and loves it, even if the relationship with his parents could be better. In his first annual Chritsmas party as the boss, he decides to dress up as Santa and hand real toys to his staff's children, only for his girlfriend to rush in and beat every kid to the punch by sitting on Santa's lap and asking him to errase any evidence of her affair so "her boyfriend" doesn't find out as her Christmas wish. That night he ends up in a hotel room with a stranger dressed in a wedding dress, someone he meet at the hotel bar, and the idea that if the night would've gone as planned, he'd be engaged to the woman who'd cheated on him, and this woman sharing his bed would've been married to someone else.
It isn't until a year later that Phoebe decides to uproot her life, even if temporarily, to search for her son's father. Lincoln is only five months old but she knows he deserves to give him the option to have a dad, so she goes onto a full research on every Santa until he finds the right one...
This book felt long af, but I know that it was only because I was struggling with them being apart when they so obviously belonged together.
🌶🌶.5 / 5 - This is explicit, open door, with most of the spice at the very, very end of the book. There's a couple of spicy scenes sprinkled in, but not much.
a little bit too much talk / thoughts about sex for me to enjoy it as the fun, cute holiday read I thought it was going to be. BUT it was something different from other holiday books, which I guess was fun.
This was…. Interesting 🤔 it made me laugh at times though so that pushed it from a 2 star to a 3 star for me. I got it as a free kindle book on Amazon so I feel like I can’t be too critical, but holy cow the amount of errors (grammatical, words missing, words in spots they shouldn’t be, double words) was crazy. I felt like I was an editor because I noticed EVERY SINGLE ONE 😅
It also felt a little long for what it was so that brought it down a star too.
Such a cute little Christmas story!! Phoebe and Archer’s story is super adorable and totally spicy! The buildup of will they or won’t they is perfect and soooo delicious! Absolutely loved every minute of this book!
The effort Archer put into being a good dad to Lincoln was so adorable. Also, Phoebe's relationship with her sister and brother (and parents too) was so nice. I also think the progression in Phoebe's and Archer's relationship was pretty realistic, though a bit fast.
This genuinely could have been at least 100 pages less and the typos and grammar mistakes tripped me up so dang often. The story was cute and the spice was spicy but there’s no reason it needed to be 400+ pages 🥲
This is a very cute, very funny, heartwarming, slow-burn romance book 😎
After a canceled wedding, a 🌽 tape revelation, lots of alcohol, and a 🌶️ one-night-stand, the lives of Phoebe and Archer changed a lot. Typical for one-night-stands, they didn't know anything about each other 🙈 And that caused a mistaken identity. Because Phoebe only knew Archer as Santa Claus. She didn't know he had a toy factory. Yes, I know, Santa Claus and a toy factory, just too hilarious 🤣 It's no secret what kind of toys they make. But still, Phoebe didn't know it. And when she saw the Christmas decorations on his receptionist's desk... OMG. Just too perfect 🤣🤣🤣 And it took her ex-fiance to help her realize it. Yes, it's not only his ex-girlfriend that appears in this book.
There are so many characters (her family, his friends...) and I loved them all. Or at least nearly all. The one I loved the most was Gavin. Phoebe's 18-year-old brother. Why? He is just so cute. What 18-year-old cares for a baby so much? The love he gives his nephew is incredible 🩷 He fed Lincoln, changed his diapers, the bathed him. Everything. He really is the best uncle ever.
It happens so much in the book. Nothing too dramatic, except for the thing with Archer's ex-girlfriend and his parents 🙈 And because of a misunderstanding, it's such a slow burn. But it's not boring. There is no time for boring. Not with a baby and a guy who doesn't know ANYTHING about babies 🤣
So if you are looking for a rom-com with just a little bit of drama but a lot of laughter. You have found it in this book.
This book is a standalone, but it is connected with Chantal's "Sleeping Dogs" series. I haven't read it, and you won't miss anything and there aren't spoilers either (except for the fact that the couples have a HEA 😁).
This was so much fun! I started it at 5pm last night and finished it by 2pm the next day. That says something! Did it have its issues? Of course. Did any of that get in the way of the great romance and well-done writing? Absolutely not!
My biggest gripe with it was the way Archer's parents acted. It felt so unrealistic and gauche. The drama that they perpetuated didn't add anything to the plot and I wish the author had gone with a different overarching conflict.
But I will say this was a perfect light read to get into the holiday season. There were so many parts that literally had me CACKLING- particularly when Archer was alone with Lincoln for the first time and when everyone came over for Christmas and saw Phoebes festive display (iykyk)
Until this book, I didn't know I liked books featuring babys. Hell I dont typically like babys in real life. But there was something that was so hot about Archer and the way he stepped up. The Acts of Service LL in me must feel like taking a baby off your hands is the ultimate act of service.
Our MMC is also in charge of his family business (ambitious), has a large group of guy friends (social), and constantly thinks of Phoebe and how he can make her happy. Therefore, Archer is my #1 contemporary book boyfriend. Anyone know someone like this irl?? No, this is fiction, okay.
✔️holiday romance ✔️one night stand ✔️surprise baby ✔️second chance ✔️slow burn ✔️no 3rd act breakup
2.5⭐️
This book was just fine. It is far from being the worst thing I have ever read, (which is why I rated it as high as I did) but I don’t feel the need to read it again in the future. I found myself skimming through about half of it, and that is something I rarely do. At least 10-15 pages could have been cut and the story would have been better overall.
There is a major miscommunication, which is why this book is such a slow burn. Yes, they have a one night stand that is spoken about at the beginning of the book (it happens a year before the events of this story) but this story is really more about the MMC finding out he is a dad and how he gets to know his son and the mother of his child. It is a romance so they do end up with a HEA, but their relationship really isn’t the focus, they don’t talk about getting together until around the 70% mark and then have to deal with family drama that almost drives them apart again.
I won’t necessarily discourage others from reading it if you have a few hours to kill, but it isn’t my top choice for any of the main tropes. There are so many better choices out there.
A rich, handsome, smart and nice hero? Check. A nice girl with an overly involved family? Check. Silly misunderstandings? Check. Romantic declaration? Check. This is a Hallmark Christmas Special in book form, except a tiny bit racier because there's an adult toy factory involved.
You should know that this book is a slow burn romance. There is an initial one night stand, but then you get more than halfway through the book before they even kiss again. So you might be surprised when you get to the end and the sex turns a little kinky. Just a little dom/sub play, but it took me by surprise, and not in a good way.
The hijinks are sometimes fun. There are some flirty old ladies, teasing siblings, and a violent coffee shop owner. You'll find it funnier than me if you think sex toys are inherently funny. If you're A fan of the author, you might enjoy seeing characters from previous books.
I gave it 3 stars because I was occasionally bored and considered putting the story down permanently a couple times, but straight contemporary romances aren't really my thing. I got this book from a giveaway because it looked funny.
In this hilarious and heartfelt holiday read we have Archer and Phoebe who have both been on the receiving end of their relationships ending only to spend a hot night together. We find out that Phoebe is back in town because that night with Archer never left her mind plus she was gifted an adorable bundle of joy out of it, now she’s trying to find the guy that is his dad if only she could remember. Archer gets the shock of his life when Phoebe waltzes back into his life but when he realizes that she’s the one he couldn’t forget yet kinda forgot he knows this is his chance to have something more. Between learning the ropes of being new parents, to diaper mishaps, relationship misunderstandings these two are in for a wild ride while hilarity ensues. There were moments I laughed out loud and moments where I wanted to reach out and slap Archer’s parents for how they behaved. Their story wasn’t an easy one but it was full of heart and fun that I easily fell in love with this story.
It was a perfect holiday romcom Phoebe gets let at the alter and heads down to the hotel bar, Archer is playing Santa at his company work party when his gf decides to ask for Santa’s help in erasing a sex tape (she didn’t know it was him) so he heads down to the bar. The bride and the Santa have a holiday romp and she sneaks out the next morning. They never learned each others name. Flash forward a year she has a 5month old and decides it’s time to track the Santa daddy down. Hahahahhahaha
The side characters were so freaking funny I was giggling and laughing up a storm. My face hurt from smiling.
A couple things were a bit repetitive ngl like the fact that she got left or that he was cheated on or a voicemail message things like that but I still loved it.
Who knew Christmas tree butt plugs could be pretty 😂 or dirty old grandmas were so naughty 😂😂😂
This book was so funny, I loved the chapter titles they were a stitch! Phoebe and her night with Santa brought her an early Xmas present in the form of Lincoln her baby boy. But she does not remember Santa's name. So she tracks him and only to find out that he is quite a hot man - who she thinks has a girlfriend though most of the story. Phoebe tends to get lost her her head and wanders with all the what if scenarios that run wild. She thinks he is a part time Santa and works for a toy factory. You need to read the book to find out what kind of toy factory Archer runs. Meanwhile Archer's parents continue to try to push him to a former cheating girlfriend, who he has no attention of marrying. There is a chuckle in every chapter between Phoebe, her family, Archer, and his friends.
It's that time of year where all the holiday books become suggested reading on my kindle. I normally avoid Holiday books because I dread the cheesiness of them. However, the blurb drew me in and I liked the little bit of snarkiness/sarcasm that the author used. I'm glad I gave it a try because this exceeded my expectations.
Was the story cheesy? At times, yes. However, the premise was cute and very different than other things I've read. It kept me entertained and flipping the pages. Better yet, the preview of another series from this author's backlog has me very interested in reading more. Looks like I'm going to be going down the rabbit hole of books written by Chantal.
Enjoyable quick holiday read about a woman who is left at the altar meets a man at a bar who was dressed as a Santa drinking his troubles away. He had just found out the girl he was going to propose to has been cheating on him. After a night together, she runs off and later finds out there was more than just a memory left from that night.
Year later, she goes back to find him, and through miscommunication, she thinks he's got a girlfriend, so she keeps it platonic.
More miscommunication happens due to many different mishaps. This book was cute and worth spending a few hours reading. 4 stars means I will only read it once, but it was quite good. 1.5 for spice.
Me encanto, honestamente pura comedia.
I received this as an ARC with the agreement to do an honest review! This rom-com is a slow burn second chance romance! I found the book enjoyable and laughed at different moments. Especially as a parent. You’ll get it when you read it! This book has a happy ending and is a stands alone. But there is definitely ways for this author to due further books with the different characters in it. Loved the family of Phoebe the female main character and the friends of Archer the male main character. They are great comedic characters in this story. I recommend this book especially if you like romcoms!!!
So, I got this from a stuff your kindle day and I'm so glad I did. It's adorable. It's different from other books I've read as far as story line which I enjoyed. Includes a little spice but also made me laugh out loud at times and although there was some grammatical and spelling issues, they were not serious issues and I thought this was well written.
The main relationship was unexpected in the beginning but felt so right as well. I do not like to give spoilers but I also got the found family vibe from this read which I always love in holiday reads because we all know that some of us struggle with family issues around the holidays.
So good! Very refreshing take on the ‘surprise baby’-trope and nice character development.
If you’re looking for steam this book will be okay, some building up and then it’s later, some kissing and a couple of sexscenes (this one might be on the lower side of real steamy but when the scenes are there, it’s whambam in your face with vivid descriptions) 🌶️🌶️
I was surprised by the pagecount, because these seasonal stories tend to be shorter - this one fills the pages very fine including the sub-plot ⭐️
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I usually avoid Christmas books at all costs, but I decided to give this one a shot, and boy, was I glad I did. It literally had me in tears, I was laughing so hard at certain parts. Especially when he first gave her the "christmas trees". I ate this story up so quickly. It usually takes me 4-5 days to read a book considering I am a full-time stay at home to 3 children. I sped through this like it was nothing. The characters were relatable, and the spice was spicing. If you like rom-coms, give this one a shot.
This was such a cute read! I got this on a stiff your kindle and decided to read and boy was I not disappointed. I loved this story! Phoebe has a one night stand with Santa and then finds out she is pregnant. After she has the baby she sets out on a journey to locate him to let him know he is a father. But with one problem… she doesn’t know anything about him including his name. This journey was great! I loved all the people in the story and it had me laughing all throughout! I was recommend this one to everyone!
I liked the concept for this book. There are some cute/funny parts to the story as Phoebe and Archer navigate the results of their one night stand.
To me, it was a bit long. There’s a lot of good parts, like when she realizes just what type of toy company he runs, and the Christmas tree decoration fiasco was pretty dang funny. The relationship is real and develops well either way some OW drama.
It’s a cute ending and I was glad to see it all work out.
This was such a fun book. Phoebe is left at the altar, Archer just broke with the woman who was supposed to be his fiancée. They had a one night stand and there comes Lincoln. Well Phoebe goes looking for her baby daddy and the fun begins. This book was hilarious. All the characters are so fun and funky. I laughed so much. Phoebe and Archer so deserve each other no matter what. Enjoy the read.
I didn’t love this one. It started out ok, but as the story went on what was supposed to be humorous wasn’t really that funny and just came across as trying too hard to be comedic. The plot just moved really slow for me and I skimmed a lot just to move on.
The pacing picked up towards the end when all of the drama unfolded, but some of the reasonings behind certain characters decisions was questionable.
The overall story was a fun idea though and the last few chapters were cute.
