Inconsistent. Obnoxious FMC. Bland character and world development.
The entire story was lacking the oomph it needed to make the book what it should have been. The plot line was bland. The relationship was extremely shallow even though the author wanted it to be more, she didn’t put the details into it to make it so. The heroine was such a spoiled brat that I couldn’t enjoy her story as much as I should have. Her relationship with Dylan was lacking the intimacy and depth that wasn’t of the physical, making it unbelievable that they had such strong feelings. Anything involving them was solely intimate scenes. In order to make the reader believe in them as a couple, we needed to hear some of their conversations, otherwise it all just looks superficial. They barely spoke in the book besides what they wanted to do to each other.
The missing persons part of the story seemed out of the blue and less a part of anything, more like a side note and could have used more depth as well instead of just randomly thrown in from time to time and then closing with it. The ending was too abrupt, morbid AF which I liked, but needed more. There were a lot of inconsistencies throughout the book that could use some editing. Like where Dylan met his ex wife or smaller things like placements of characters in the room. Overall, this book had potential but needed more.

Overall this was a pretty good story. It was pretty slow in the beginning and I was a bit put off by the exhibitionist/voyeur relationship, and actually considered not even finishing a couple times. The second half of the book was full of suspense and difficult to put down. The story concept was pretty good, but there were several major mistakes that were difficult to overlook. However, I was reading a free advance copy of the book and it is possible the errors were corrected for the final version.

This is one HOT book!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
"Forbidden Love" is my first foray into the world of Rachel K. Stone's books! I was initially captivated by the cover....does Dylan have a clone for me??!! 😄
This story pulled me in immediately!
Growing up as neighbours, Misti has always been drawn to the handsome, sexy-hot Dylan. At home from college, she isn't a little girl anymore and they both know it.
Misti is THE perfect enticement for Dylan's fantasies. I could feel the sexual tension between the two of them....and when they FINALLY got together, well, let's just say an explosion happened!!!
Dylan is also a successful businessman and he is currently exploring new technology in the form of women's jewellery embedded with a GPS system, which can be triggered safely.
This will prove crucial later in the story!
Ms. Stone has written a seat-of-your-pants, gripping and angst-filled novel that is a complete page turner! The relationship between Misti and Dylan is such that they have deeper ties than first thought.
Besides their hot, steamy trysts; throw in a case of a serial killer who adds fear and terror to an otherwise typical college semester.
I absolutely and thoroughly enjoyed this story! I have to admit, the blog describing the book had me thinking something other than what happened!!
I am now a big Rachel K. Stone book-fan!! I love her brand of dark, hot and sexy writing!
Oh, and if you DO decide to read "Forbidden Love"....(and you will!!), make sure you have a fan around to help you keep your panties cool!!! 😄

Misti is home for the summer before going back to uni for her final year. Bored and not at all impressed by boys of her own age she sets her sights on Dylan, her next door neighbour. Whilst he's the same age as her parents he's still fit and handsome. The fact that she's had a crush on him for years just adds to the fun.
Dylan has been divorced for a year and is just recovering emotionally. Misti is his neighbours' child, only this summer she is all grown up and he just can't keep his thoughts from her.
What follows is a tense, hot standoff until they both give in.
Is it safe for her to return to college with so many young women going missing. More disturbingly, ones that look exactly like her?
If you like your steamy romances with a side of dark then this is definitely for you.

This is NOT just an older man next door book.
Misti is home for summer break but she wants a summer fling. Dylan is her older neighbour who is attracted by the young woman teasing him from her yard. Misti offers to clean his pool so that she can swim in it, which gives her the chance to tempt Dylan to starting a fling. At the end of summer Misti goes back to college, but then things take a dark twist.
I loved the work Dylan was doing to help kidnapped woman. Misti was a bit of a spoilt rich girl, but she grew on me. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Misti is a bored college student with nothing to do all summer but sunbathe in the backyard and tease her older neighbor. Misti’s parents are renovating their pool so she finds a way to get Dylan to invite her over. Misti pretty much does everything she can to get Dylan to notice her. Now Dylan thinks Misti is adorable but he does business with her father and doesn’t want to ruin that. So when they begin to become intimate they need to keep it quiet and hide it from her parents. Now in the midst of all this there is a serial killer who is killing female college students. Great book, good plot and some spicy moments.

Forbidden Love is a great age gap book about Misti and Dylan. Misti is a young lady who lives next door to Dylan, the guy she's been crushing on since she was 16, now she is no longer that teenager and she knows what she wants. This novel had an amazing amount of steamy moments & drama. The only parts I would love to see different is that they tell themselves that they love the other person, but never tell each other that . I can't wait to read book 2!.

WOW this book will make your panties wet, and your heart pound while reading this totally AWESOME and HOT suspenseful romance book. I absolutely enjoyed every last word of this book about Misti and Dylan. I am not going to give anything away with this book except that Rachel really did a fantastic job writing this book. I am excited to see what her next masterpiece is going to be. :).

This age gap dark romance with Misty and Dylan kept me glued to the story. She is drawn to her neighbor who is much older than she is, and they have a fling but someone else is after Misty as well a man that likes younger women and when he finishes with them, they meet a deadly demise. Will Dylan be able to get to Misty before this man does.

Dylan and Misti's story, Forbidden Love is a great age gap, unrequited, forbidden love read. Misti has had a crush on her older neighbor Dylan since she was 16 years old. She's no longer that girl and Dylan certainly doesn't see her as one. Their journey is quite intriguing. It's intense, full of excitement, surprises and definitely action. This is my first read by this author and I'm quite interested in seeing what else she has.

Not bad, typos and silly mistakes though
Decent enough story, I although very much a story of two halves. Annoyed by some typos etc through out book, Dylan is called Daniel in a few places, and his ex wife starts off as a stripper then works in real estate. Misti is typed as mysti in at least one place. Nothing major just should have been caught in editing. It's a small annoyance that took me out of the book.

The minute I got this I started to read and just couldn’t put it down. It’s was exciting to see how the relationship would play out with Misti and Dylan. But also a thrilling serial killer thrown into the mix. Great writing and loved every bit of this story. I do wish the parents were more involved when She disappeared. Very recommended to get this one.

This was a great story. Age-gap romance with a huge twist in the middle!
Misti and Dylan are great together. Though the general consensus is that they shouldn't be together, they balance each other out perfectly. The characters are so likable. Loved Dylan!

If you like a steamy and a bit dark romantic story with an age gap then you have come to the right place with this story. Dylan and Misty's story kept you glued to your book. Their story contains drama, action, danger and many steamy scenes. Highly recommended to read, I enjoyed this story anyway.

The story of Dylan and Misti was so good and hot!
The relationship that they shared was spicy and every girls dream.
And the twists that this takes were so far out of what I thought possible!

Well written and engaging. This book has a really great plot. It's not just spicy between the MCs it actually has a good suspenseful story to it. I want my own Dylan. I think you'd enjoy it too.
