About the author

Since I was a little girl, I’ve made up stories. I would lay in my bed at night and before I knew what a trope was, I would make up these trope filled stories. Boy sees girl, boys falls for girl, boy saves girl….happily ever after. As I got older, the stories turned steamier and more intricate, but the basics never changed.

FIRST – I’m giving this 5 STARS for the simple fact that everyone is trying to get it banned from Kindle and sometimes I like to fight the haters. Man – let people read what they want!!!

That said – this was def not as sexy as the cover leads you to believe.

Carina (18, virgin, ballerina) and her sister were sent to live with her step-grandfather up in icy Canada after their parents were killed because of the mob life. Gennero (50, dirty Papa, head of mob family) is a naughty old man with the hots for his little step-granddaughter. The book is pretty much exactly what you would expect for this subject, except more comedy and less steamy. It’s filled with classic lines like.

Tonight I’ll be putting a partridge in your pear tree one way or another!

The issues are Carina is completely innocent, yet she cusses like a sailor. It just didn’t jive with the rest of her character description. She also has an eating disorder because of her mean ballet instructor and we don’t even get to hear about Gennero murdering him!! Plus, the author completely skips over the butt sex! You'll be happy to know we have reindeer – which was all kinds of messed up.

Now, open those pretty lips, I’m going to feed you some Feliz Navi-Dick.

The book tries for the laughs and some of them deliver. But nothing will ever be quite as hilarious as Satan by Layla Fae. That one had me ROLLING.

This is just ok. I would have given it a 3 but again – fight the haters.

Gennero is Carinas step-grandfather and after her mother and stepdad died, she went to live with him. Genneros feelings change when Carina turns 18 and the same happens to Carina. These two fell head over heels for each other, although their special circumstances made it hard for them to be together. Great chemistry, definitely taboo, but still really good. Age gap(+30years), steamy, taboo , romantic , DD/lg (just a bit), but still kind of safe ( she is a virgin, he is celibate more than 10 years). 😍😍

Oh, Santa! If taboo/age gap is not your thing, do not even attempt this book. This one is a step grandpa and 18 year old step granddaughter. This is hot, forbidden and festive. Lol. They got reindeers. Carina is 18 years old and lives with her step grandpa after parents death. She's been lusting after him for a while and is ashamed and then realizes he is doing the same with her. All bets are off. If you like Dani Wyatt then you'll love this story

I was really hoping to start the year off with a bang! But instead I got this!!
I’m gonna be nice and give this 2.75⭐️

It started well and really had potential but then too many things made it go downhill!!

Now I love a taboo romance, and I wasn’t even that fussed by the taboo that was in this book! What annoyed me was I felt like the author kept trying to push it so unnecessarily hard!! That constant pushing it down my throat just made me loose the fun and excitement of it!

And then the last 30% of the book was full of errors! Grammatical, spelling, errors from whose POV certain sentences were written in, etc.

It’s such a shame as this really could have been good!

Wander Aguiar, photographer/model, is on the cover, which drew me into reading this story. I met him in Boston years ago; he's a sweetheart.

Gennero Maricio Saboto, age 50, runs the family business of drugs, guns, gambling, loan sharks, and lord knows what else is raising both his granddaughters, one adopted and the other biological.

Lucy, age 20, is his son's daughter with a woman who is now sleeping with the fish. Lucy is training to take over the family business.

Carina Sophia Margarita Sabaro, age 18, is the step-granddaughter who's been living with him for the past three years. She was six when her mother married Gennero's son in a business partnership.

Gennero spent ten years in prison for his wrongdoings, and he relocated to the tundra of Canada, where he built his mansion and has been keeping his family safe. His granddaughters want for nothing; they take ballet lessons with Alik Petrov. Lucy and Carnia are both excellent dancers; Lucy practices more while Carnia starves herself. They put on one performance during the holidays.

This is my first time reading Dani Wyatt's work; while the story is about the Mafia, Age-gap, Off Limits, and Daddy Romance is fictional, there are some things that I need to point out. The age difference between Gennero and Carnia is 32 years, so how old could Gennero's son be to have a child who's 20 years old? It doesn't add up to be realistic; again, I'm aware that this story is fictional, but little things like this make you stop and wonder in the middle of the story throws it off.

This was definitely my least favorite from this series. It wasn’t bad, I just didn’t love these troupes. Heroine is a starving ballerina (but it’s just a hobby), and acts extremely annoying and bratty. The mafia/ mob part was ok although I don’t know how you run a city while living a thousand miles away. Also, I’ve read a few grandfather/ granddaughter books and they’re just not my favorite, I think because of the ridiculous age-gap. And they always have tons of kids. And he’s like 65 still popping more out in the epilogue; and all I think is how that poor girl will be stuck as a single mom raising all these kids alone (plus taking care of her elderly husband;)
And what was up with the reindeer 💩???

I love age gap, I’m up for taboo, and love a good spicy novella. This just didn’t deliver for me. Didn’t love the characters - they fell flat. Zero depth. There were also several promising plot lines and story events (hello Alik and Mort?) but the “solution” to all problems were either glazed over and/or mentioned after the event happened. Again - it’s a novella so I don’t expect a ton of plot or character development but I do expect more than this gave.

But if you just want a short, steamy, taboo read to round out your year I’d say give this one a go! I didn’t rage quit this, and only rolled my eyes a few times at the bad dirty talk. Won’t be reading it again but not regretting my choice to read it at least once.

I liked this story. Its unorthodox story, but age-gap romances happen all the time and they aren't genetically related...I though the book was on par with Dani Wyatt and there was plenty of daddiness and sassy little girl. Genero has been isolated to an icy kingdom where he lives with his granddaughter and step-granddaughter. Carina is his step-granddaughter by marriage only and she has become his obsession. Never has he wanted to be with a woman so badly or wanted forever before. Carina has been having steamy thoughts and feelings about Genero, her step-grandfather for a while now. When it's clear that their desire is mutual, Santa comes down her chimney and leaves her a present.

The story is out of the norm by society’s standards but the love between the MCs cannot be denied. They did try but their standards have always been outside what is acceptable so what’s one more. 😅. Carina did grew up in the end, she shed the naivety that protected her but the Don is there to protect her, always.

I like the mystery surrounding Lucy. There were hints dropped off between her and Sully and I was right. Leonardo provided a bit of a relief from the intensity of the scenes.

Everyone is happy in the end and everything is right in their world.

This book was so fun. The spice was great, and it was cringe as heck in some parts but I loved it! He is her step grandfather and has had an obsession with her for years and now he can't hide it any longer now that she is legal. She is legal and done being a tease, she is ready to be his! I love the ways that they tied Christmas into it even though he's a mafia don. He does some wild stuff because of his obsession but overall it was so fun and hot!

Where can I get a Step Santa??

Holy cow waited and waited for this book! Amazon took its time letting us have it. But boy it was worth the wait!! It's forbidden, dirty and oh so perfect. Underneath all of hot dirty times is a story about love and second chances no matter what. And love of family. Fantastic read as always Dani! I have completely enjoyed the step series 😃 there is something to be said about wanting what is forbidden!

More of an age gap then I am comfortable with, but the story is hot hot hot. Step grandpa falls hard for his step grand daughter. The grandpas age doesn't quite add up, 50 year old with an 18 year old step granddaughter and a 20 year old granddaughter, but the story is good. No blood relations having relations. good story if don't need all the details to add up.

If you're freezing and need to be warmed up, grab this book and start reading. It's HOT, HOT, HOT and OH-SO-NAUGHTY! I needed a quick, saucy read and this book sure qualified. I can't say it was a literary masterpiece, but it certainly was entertaining! The characters were interesting, the story kept my attention, and there was PLENTY of steamy action...it was an easy-to-read break from all of the world's problems for a day!

This is a fun read! I don’t mind the 32-year age gap, and the way the MMC’s POV was written doesn’t feel like it. If his age wasn’t mentioned, I’d thought he was only 40-45 years old because of his character description. I love that the FMC was so into her Papa LMAO. Their chemistry is also good. Some scenes were funny and cringe to me, and I still can’t forget the “Feliz Navi-Dick” it’s too funny for me. Love the two epilogues. 4 stars!

Gennero loves both his grand daughters; Carina and Lucy, and he would do anything for them. Carina is his step grand daughter and lately he's been feeling a different kind of love for her and she has become his obsession. Will they be able to be together or would them having a relationship be way too taboo?
