Sadie Alden got on a plane with no intention of looking back. She sold up her cafes back home and took up an opportunity that looked too good to be true. A beachside café on a remote island where no one knows her name, doesn’t that sound like heaven? Well… things are never simple.
News of her arrival seemed to travel fast across the island of Hallow Haven, but the locals know things about Sadie that she hasn’t told anyone, things that even she doesn’t know.
She’s barely started a tour of the place before she is dragged into a cellar to dodge the incoming storm. Her new friend Kate insists that Sadie accompany her on a damage check around the island. First stop; the cemetery. It seems that there is one extra grave and it has been uncovered by the rain.
This is the beginning of a whole new chapter for Sadie, she is about to learn things about herself that have been hidden all her life. It turns out she has relatives out here, and they are all witches too.
Hallow Haven is a place filled with ancient feuds, magic, and secrecy. Sadie was brought here by fate and only she can bring peace to the islands surrounding her. Who can she turn to for help? The hot Sheriff who is trying to keep his distance, the local hiking expert who appears when Sadie is in danger, or the ghost in her kitchen? Life’s a beach.
15 books. One complete series. Over 1,800 pages. All in one boxset!
Mara Webb graduated from a child with a vivid imagination and a love of all things magic, to a professional writer. Mara writes cozy mysteries with a paranormal twist, and delights in concocting new and unusual ways to murder characters in her books.
I really enjoyed this series. --Until the end... It was my first by this author and I was pleasantly surprised by the writing, characters, and plots. After reading so many witch cozy series, it's hard to find one that sometimes keeps me guessing. I rated each book as I read them and a few were so good I marked them as 4 stars. I was actually prepared, up to book 13, to give this an over-all 4 star review. But book 14 let me down a little. It wasn't as thought out as some of the others and the suspense slackened. But book 15 was a big disappointment. It tried to build it all up, but it took MC Sadie away from all the side characters I love and introduced her to a few that just don't hold up. I had to reread the last few chapters after I finished it because it left me confused.
***SPOILERS AHEAD***
If I followed the story line right: somehow this new witch character Jo, was once a bad witch that tried to perform a bad spell. She somehow does it now, making Darcy go from being a long dead ghost-witch, to a now Alive powerless human. Not sure how. And witch hunter bad-judge guy pulls Sadies magic from her, then destroys the globe thing that holds her powers. Then it's just la-de-dah let's go home and be done. Like, What?! and the end leaves all that open and more. Does Ryder just go on forever being in love with Sadie? Does Jared stay in jail, even though he was being controlled by Darcy and the dark islanders? What about him and Effie? He was going to propose to her and got taken over. Was it even his choice to bite her or out of his control? I would like to know if Kate finds someone. Plus, Darcy is on the run. I know it's suggested she will be found, but really?? I have more questions, but what's the point. So yeah, I will leave this at 3 stars, because it was entertaining, but now I am hesitant to try other books by her, because this ending was very lacking to me....
While this group of stories was enjoyable to a degree, there were elements that were annoying. A lot of smirking, personally I hate people who smirk, they are usually putting down others in some way or form and not particularly nice types. This group of characters did little else. The stories were solved and bam end of book, pretty unsatisfying. I skipped half of the book as it was tedious and really not enjoyable as it didn't add to the story. Also, a good editor might have helped as it sometimes had no continuity and poor grammar stopped it making sense. All in all while I enjoyed some of the series, it annoyed me much of the time.
There is action from the very start which holds my attention. The chapters are short yet the actual story is long, there are 15 books after all. At first it can be a bit confusing because of all of the different characters which sorts itself out as you keep reading. I also think this series is addicting because I wanted to find out what happens next. The only thing is, I kind of wish for an epilogue so find out how things worked out after the "ending." Other than that I found it a fun read & kept me in Hallow Haven for a few days which I enjoyed.
I hate to say bad things about an author, but I gave up early in book 2.
Terrible editing. And some of the worst world building I have ever seen. It makes no sense at all. Seriously? Tunnels under the ocean connecting tiny islands??? Bummer they went to all that work on the Chunnel.
It’s like it was written by a forgetful person in 15 minutes a day spread out over years. Nothing is consistent. It’s obvious very little effort was made past “I like to type!”
The dialog is lame, the characters are like thin cardboard, and the plots are nonexistent.
It kept me entertained and i liked the story line just enough murder mystery. On the con side i didn’t like the love triangle cause even tho she picked the one guy she still kept the other one around with him always saying how much he loved her and her having thoughts about him. The other con, i know its for ones not been reading the books before but the explaining of each person, how she ended up in town and situation. Id still read more of her books.
She returned to a life she never knew about. She inherited a job that she was born for. In returning home, she found a partner, friends, and family. She also became the law, as well as being put in danger continuously. But she's enjoying herself and her new life is much more than her old one. She's also getting quite good wt solving crime. If only she had some time for herself.
This is a book that has everything relating to the supernatural.. if you are looking for a story about witches, vampires, werewolves, shifters then look no further. Another plus is that each story runs on from the previous one and they are all interconnected the characters are relatable and amusing, there is also enough mystery to keep you wanting to read more.
Sadie was brought to towns when she bought a coffee shop. She ends up finding g out she is the peace keeper. She has two men fall in love with her and she ends up with two guardians. These are can't put down books till you finish reading it. It's interesting how she solves the murders with the help of her guardians and friends along with w cat Fritz also with a ghost of her cousin who was the previous peacekeeper who was murdered.
I liked the constant underlying story about Sadie's family. There was also the fact that there was the activation of the werewolves when Sadie came to the islands. That made for the interesting triangle when she not only had 2 "protectors", but also 2 guys fall in love with her, one the werewolf, the other a vampire that had become that vampire to save her life.
I enjoyed the series but there was a few items that in my humble opinion would have made it better. Pretty wholesome series and I like my series with little bit of spice and smut. *** SPOILER ALERT**** The other item I didn’t like was that a few KEY characters ( mainly Ryder and Greta) didn’t get their HEA. Otherwise, right on!
I read all 15 books of the Hallow Haven mysteries in an omnibus set. All 15 were well written (with a few typos and word errors) and had likeable and well developed characters. I made it through all of them and have purchased a few more from the same author, which tells you how much I really liked them. Worth reading.
I haven't stop reading for days. I have loved the characters, the stories and all the descriptions of places. Mara Webb is new to me and I find her writings most engaging. I have already downloaded two more of her collections and can't wait to get on with the next. I am so glad I found Mara Webb.
Each book had me more engrossed than the last. I felt like I was there for each moment as part of the team. Ryder and Miller, Kate and effie mabel, greta and Fitz are all unique but delicately intertwined with Sadie and her life. I need to know what happens next!!!
Most of these were pretty okay, except the last one. It was absolutely terrible -- no explanation of how the murder happened, just the who and why. And big plot elements are pretty much just dropped with a shrug and an "oh well."
Also, as with the other series, there are frequent spelling errors, and millions of commas in place of the proper punctuation.
You liked the characters. I liked how the books just ran into each other like one long book. I have never read so many books in such a small amount of time in my entire life. This story just kept going and kept building and the characters kept evolving. I loved this book series.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series! It was well written the continuity was clear and on point! It wasn't an overly heavy storyline and it had loveable characters! I've added mera Webb to my favorite Authors list!
Couldn't put them down. Thoroughly enjoyable supernatural drama with crime solving thrown in, amazing characters. Such wonderful environments and people described so acutely it was easy to visualise them. So beautifully written
Loved these books and binge read them Just me and my familiar Monty he really enjoyed being cuddled whilst I read. I forgot he wasn’t allowed on the bed Im sad there are no more
I love the books. In fact a few times while reading I looked up the author to find more books by her to put in my list for when I was done with this one.
A lovely read from book 1-15, I thoroughly enjoyed the adventures/mysteries and the characters are well described and each unique. If your into witchy, werewolf and vampires then it’s a must read.
Books 1-15 have humor, mystery, murders and various crimes, witches, werewolves, vampires, humans, ghosts, shifters, and more. If you like the paranormal, you'll enjoy this series. Highly entertaining.
I love these sets ...liked all the characters .could have finished a book earlier ,but none the less a fun and imaginative stories and islands liked the fact that the story moved to different back drops and added other characters at times.
I really liked reading this mystery box set with witches, ghosts, vampires & werewolves solving the mysteries. I would recommend these books to anyone who enjoys reading these kinds of mysteries.

Just jumped into this 15 book set. It was entertaining and kept me engaged in the characters and the stories. I made a couple of notes to clarify some of the sentences, where proof readers missed.
This box set was insane. The story started, gripped you, reeled you in and kept you captivated. I want more. I want to see where this continues to. This is absolutely thrilling.
