Sarah and Jen are both teachers at the same school, Jen having joined the staff very recently. This is the very romantic story of how they get together, and how Jen and her daughter Lila, and Sarah become a family together.
The dedication was funny…
This is a well written novella, full of love, and as the author suggests, rather like a steamy, spicy Hallmark Christmas movie.

SO FLIPPING CUTE!
Originally, I’d started reading this on Vella and I’m so glad I came over to buy it as an ebook. Darn story had me laughing, crying, and screaming. Amanda nailed it.
Sarah comes off as a hard@**, the tough teacher in leather with a soft heart. She cares for her students, but keeps her distance from others. When her higher ups say she needs to get involved with school committees or her tenure might be brought into question, she joins the one she feels would be the least amount of work.
Jen is a new teacher to the school. She knows teachers in her same grade, but doesn’t have many friends. In order to broaden that circle, she joins a committee…the same one Sarah does.
Instantly, sparks fly. However, Sarah hasn’t come out to her coworkers, and Jen doesn’t want to be in a serious relationship with a coworker. But then, what should have been a one night stand, doesn’t go as planned.

I really wanted to love this. It has all the tropes that I enjoy, but it was first person and I sometimes couldn't tell the two main characters apart. Maybe that's a me + 1st person thing? I don't read a lot of 1st person.
Otherwise, it was a nice romance with low stakes.

Cute, easy read. I needed a break from the books I normally read and just wanted a hallmark moment. This is all that plus some spice.
