I enjoyed the kinks, like the somnophilia and breast milk kink. The step sibling dirty talk and Daddy talk is not my thing, and I know, it is the step series, but I love Dani Wyatt and so I wanted to see if this book would be good, the premise sounded good and I read in that the twist was going to be good, I had a twist in the story in mind of what it could be and hoping it would it, but it wasn't.

(and she tells him that she heard interviews of him saying he doesn't want kids, to which he responds with a stupid lie, that he says things the interviewer pushes him to say and didn't mean it, but in his inner monologue he is adamant about hating kids and remaining childless, so which is it??)
Also, what does this quote mean? That he hasn't stuck his dick in a woman or never went in without a condom? I am confused on the quote,

I’ve had my share of attraction, I’m not dead, but not like this."
Never released in the bare wild of any woman, meaning he never fucked, or never fucked without a condom?

I wish we just would get a straight forward status on the hero, is he a virgin or is he experienced?? Since he got so angry and jealous that she might not be, but then when he realizes that he gets all her firsts, will she get all of his firsts? The problem would be solved if he just told her, with no room for ambiguity.
H 'teacher her all about sex' I hate when the hero teaches the girl about sex, it shows that he is (or could be) experienced unfortunately, and will never be all hers. He says that this is the first time fucking around in a car, so he had other first before? Why mention that specifically?.......*throws hands up in the air frustrated* I just don't know anymore, and it put me off the whole story.
Another of many plot holes, he was so adamant about not wanting kids because he hates them, but SPOILER.....
She is pregnant with HIS baby...how??? He donated sperm ages ago when he needed the money! WHAT??? For a man hating kids even taking all the precautions to NEVER have them, the last thing he would do, even if he were desperate for money, is donate sperm! You would think he would go back to the clinic and with his money and influence get the sample destroyed or at least make sure no one woman picked his sperm....all this time he could have had a kid somewhere. If he needed fast cash, he could have done ANYTHING to get it except that.
I thought (and this was what I wish it was) the twist in a taboo erotica would be that he stalked her months BEFORE she got pregnant, and when he realized that she is going to go get pregnant as a favor to her asexual, platonic friend, he panics, not wanting any other man but him to father her children, but then he sees it as his chance to tie her to him forever, and so if her getting pregnant is inevitable, he made sure it would be with his sperm, and that is why he donated. Paying the clinic to make sure it is HIS sperm she got pregnant with would have explained a lot and fit his obsessive/possessive character trait. Originally he fantasized about having lots and lots of babies with her the traditional way, but plans and circumstances have changed, but for the better! He would convince her friend going to prison, that when he comes out, he will help him adopt a child, but not from his woman she is ALL his and so is their baby. Not telling her that he knows he is the father of their baby, and that he was stalking her for months before "meeting her"....now THAT would make it spicy and taboo, and add tension to what her reaction would be when he reveals what he did. Plus it would explain why he never mentioned her bulging belly, because he already knew she was pregnant and let her hide it from him until she spoke to him about it first, and that is when he would tell her everything. Him being so enamored and sweet and fussing over her comfort, will balance the fact that he did take advantage of her plan to get pregnant, and that he just could not let another man's sperm touch her. So he so no other choice, plus before meeting her, women and fatherhood was not what he ever wanted, until he saw her that is when he wanted a woman, the only woman and he wanted to have a house full of kids with her... *sigh* Sorry, my mind wondered into what could have been.
Unfortunately the twist we got instead, was lack luster.
Speaking of her pregnant belly, I don't get how, with all the sex and oral, and grinding, how he did not feel her pregnant belly, HOW??? But sees it on the cams he had placed in the house....it would have made sense if he didn't mention anything about the belly if he already knew, but not when he had no idea...
This is what happens when you focus on the erotica and the taboo part of the story, the rest of the story doesn't make sense.

Fucks her six ways to Sunday but doesn't feel her bulging belly, says he doesn't want kids, but blames the interviews that he said that but didn't mean it, is not into meaningless sex but knows enough to teach her sex,....so many conflicting things, I gave up on making any sense of it.
Taboo for the sake of taboo is not enough.
I really Wanted to like this, I have to say that I loved that the H was all in, and obsessed with the h, but trying to figure out the way DW describing his past, left me bereft and frustrated, so I couldn't enjoy the rest, and the 'twist' was so anti climactic. I did like that he cared for her, but the dirty talk and the sex seemed to overshadow the love that could have been, which does not work for me.
I hate to say it, but I don't recommend it.
Dani Wyatt was an author I loved but she no longer writes stories like, "When She's Mine" and "Where she Belongs", both DV romance/erotica I love so much and recommend. I am sad about this. I miss those, they are erotic, raunchy, sweet, steamy sex, lots of romantic swoon worthy moments, heroes that save themselves for the heroine and lets them know it. What I wouldn't give for Dani to write stories like these two, but "Step Savage", and the Step series, is just not for me.

STEP-SAVAGE might be my favorite book in the
Wanting What's Wrong
series by Dani Wyatt, which can all be read as a standalone. James and Nancy's relationship was incredibly sexy and forbidden—they captivated my attention from start to finish. I found Nancy to be a relatable character and I liked that she was sensible and independent if a little naive. She was placed in a situation not of her own making and came out of it still in tact. I was confused in the beginning but it didn't take long for me to realize that Nancy was a victim of her best friend's machinations. I don't think Mason ever meant to let things get that far but he did keep her in the dark—which ultimately led to his arrest. We also learn that Nancy became pregnant because she had been surrogating for Mason. It was an interesting twist to an otherwise "normal" story because she ends up meeting her new step-brother the same day. James might be the author's most charming and unhinged hero yet because of the steps he took to possess Nancy. It was entertaining to watch him spiral even further and become obsessed the more time he spent with her.
In the end, I enjoyed this book so much because it was a forbidden romance that had all the tropes I loved. James and Nancy were likable characters and I found myself invested in their story. Even though James made some rather questionable decisions—basically stalking Nancy by keeping a tracker on her and installing cameras in their parents' home to watch her, he did it for her safety and his own state of mind instead of a desire to control her. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a quick and spicy palate cleanser. Of course, the smut scenes between James and Nancy were my favorite. The love scenes and dirty talk were on point as always. If you are looking for a taboo/forbidden romance with a possessive and unhinged hero who will do anything for his sweet and curvy heroine, you won't be disappointed by this one.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was cute. I actually would have loved to have read this as a full length book. I liked the writing and the characters. As a short and sweet novella this lacked major plot depth and character development but that’s kind of the point right? Smutty, insta love, pregnant, step sibling goodness. lol.

I love dani wyatt stories but this plot was way to crazy and unrealistic even for me 💀
Also tell me why this was her chance to take this obsessed guy to the next level. With him knowingly planing for her to get artificially inseminated with his sample 🤣, but even then that doesn’t makes sense because it is emphasised that he doesn’t want kids!! What!? Then why go to the wank bank….. this made me think to much when all I wanted was to not think at all😵💫
The last 30% was its only saving grace.

I love the heat and edginess of Dani Wyatt’s books and this one did not disappoint. I got to the end of the book and was honestly upset it wasn’t longer as I was not ready to say goodbye to the characters. I loved how lost Nancy was and honestly how psycho James got as their relationship progressed. I can’t say more without giving out spoilers so just block out a chunk of time because you won’t want to put the book down until it’s finished.

If you are in the mood for Insta love, over the top love story. Then this is it. It will melt your kindle, make you blush and get a little hit and bothered.
It’s a fun read with lots of open door scenes, with an over the top, dirty talking ice hockey guy who falls for a little song bird who also happens to be his brand new step sister.
It has a twist I didn’t see coming and 2 epilogues. Soo good.

Step-Savage, part of Wanting What's Wrong, was about 20-year-old Nancy Rochet, a country singer-hopeful, and James White, a star hockey player.
The book had plenty of angst and drama, but it was a bit too long. There was too much fluff and inner dialogue that could have been left out. Plus, the secret about her baby was too OTT to be enjoyed. How a man could bed a woman and NOT know she was six months pregnant boggled the mind. And yet, that's what the author expected readers to believe. Perhaps I'm just being delusional. Who knows?
This story was a bit wanky. Nancy met James when her car was about to be impounded, only for James to sweet talk the cop out of that. But then it ended up not starting, so he had to give her a lift to their parents' home. Her dad married his mother while on a cruise (they had been seeing each other for six months before that). From the moment he first laid eyes on Nancy, James was all in on making her his.
There were moments when this story was a bit on the icky side. Like the fact that James constantly called her "Sis" and expected her to call him "brother", especially during sex. Other times, the book just dragged on to the point of being boring.
There were some odd spots in the book (especially in the beginning) that never truly meshed together with the rest of the story. The "Ponzi scheme" just didn't fit in...anywhere, so it was puzzling to know why the author inserted it into the story. It would have been different if the story was built around the whole incident, but it wasn't. It was a hit or miss, mentioned once or twice, then left alone. It stuck out like a sore thumb.
The two main characters were not quite fully developed, and their maturity level was questionable. There were also some questionable acts made by the MMC that definitely put him in the psycho category.
I only gave this book a two-star rating. Mainly because of the length, but also due to other factors I had already mentioned. It just didn't earn anything higher.

I love the smuttiness but the plot was such a good idea and as usual for this author it plays out in a truly unrealistic way that I can’t really enjoy the story completely.
The FMC is 6 months pregnant via sperm donor, as a surrogate for her male best friend, who is going to jail for ten years give or take, due to embezzlement. Yeah, that alone is absurd. But wait, here comes a new step brother to her rescue BUT he doesn’t know any of this. He doesn’t notice she pregnant because her clothes are baggie. He doesn’t know that she is homeless and only just barely escaped prison herself on those same charges. He doesn’t know anything about her but from first glance he is all in. Obsessively so.
So the book has lots of smutty obsessive goodness between these two but again the MMC never feels her belly in the several scenes where he came into contact with it. He only finds out via a hidden camera because he was stalking her. So we the reader never really get a good gut punch on that reveal or the argument that followed because the MMC is an obsessive moron who believes the FMC immaculately conceived before him because he is now going to be the dad and that’s all that mattered to him. lol. I’m exaggerating, the FMC did explain that she was a surrogate for her friend who is now in jail. BUT she doesn’t explain that it was from a random donor and NOT her friend as the MMC assumes.
So the final twist is that the baby is in fact the MMC’s progeny from the ONE time he donated sperm when he was broke ten or so years before. What a coincidence right?? Like seriously what are the odds the MMC’s only sample was still there all those years later. Smh. This book was so OTT but it would have been great if it had a large books worth of more realism in it to truly make it spectacular.
As it stands it’s a silly read with lots of sex where a baby belly goes unnoticed. Good luck.

I honestly really struggled on if this was a 3 star or 4 star read. I was looking for an OTT dirty talking alpha and this one popped up on a few lists. When I read the warnings and blurb I immediately decided this was the one. The whole not dark stalker thing is kind of working for me atm, I think because of how obsessive the heroes are and I've read most of the semi normal ott alphas and am now having to look further down the list.
But there were a few things in this that just didn't work for me. It felt like it was trying too hard to throw in all the kink words in one sentence. Yeah sure get her to call you Daddy, but then don't also throw in brother and whatever else you can think of. Also once you've decided to pursue this don't keep telling every man and their dog that she's your sister.
This took insta love to a whole new level. Which was also fine for me. I also liked the coincidence of the who's your daddy. And this story will definitely stick in my head for a while and I'll be honest I'll probably check out the rest of the series when I'm feeling in the mood for more. So 4 stars for that but 3 stars for the fact I almost put it down half a dozen times in the first half.

• Is it really a step sibling trope when they're both adults meeting for the first time after their parents are married? Is it really taboo if there is an attraction and they get together soon after meeting? It not as though they grew up together or have known each other for a while. Also, can't it just be known that they are now step-siblings?
• The overuse of brother , big brother, little sister, baby sister, sis, and new sister got annoying fast. James also called himself Daddy a fair amount. And there was the overuse of mama and baby too.
• Automatically called James as the anonymous sperm donor of Nancy's baby. Just by his and Rodney's conversation on page 48.
• Nancy wearing James' hockey helmet in chapters 6 & 7 was just bizarre and weird.
• The constant comparison to a Kewpie doll was not cute. I'm not sure which is worse, the hairline or lack there of or the body type. I would be extremely offended if someone compared my appearance to one of those dolls.

I’m quickly becoming a big fan of this author❤️ This one wasn’t a favorite but I still really liked this book. I’m a fiend for taboo books so I’m loving this series so much.
There were a few troupes & kinks in this one that weren’t my favorite…..
Since it’s on the very first page I don’t think I’m spoiling anything by saying the book begins with FMC being 6.5 months pregnant. I was confused because she hadn’t met the MMC yet. Then this quickly turned into an episode of Jane the Virgin….
The FMC was also certain she was asexual and aromantic so there has never been anyone else… until she sees her new stepbrother, then surprise! 😍🥰Asexual aromantic no longer…. I guess this is plausible, I don’t personally know….it just felt like a reach…
Lastly, this guy had a MASSIVE lactation fetish (hucow was also a thing in a previous book in the series). Not yucking anyone’s yum, this just isn’t my 😋 yum. And this guy was extra EXTRA about it.

Insta-love is not an exaggeration. He comes riding in like a white knight when she needs a helping hand. Her new step-brother whom she hasn't officially met yet. To him, she's as cute as a button with her short stature, reminding him of a dolly. He doesn't hide the fact he is attracted to her, no matter their relations. She is attracted to him too, but she has a little secret or two, so doesn't want to just jump into things, though he doesn't make it easy for her with his dominating ways. Despite his dominating ways, he is rather sweet to her and does treat her well. She's new to all things regarding intimacy so everything is a learning experience for her. This isn't quite a novella, but things move fast in the book, and it reads just as quickly. There is sexual content which is suitable for mature readers. It alternates between POVs.

Oh my goodness, James jumps into the deep end from the moment he meets Nancy. Nancy's life has fallen apart and she doesn't know how she is going to move forward. Then her new step-brother comes to her rescue. James is reeling at the sudden turn his life has taken. He is a fiend for his lil sis, he has to make her his. Only Nancy is keeping a little secret, that won't be little much longer. If you have read any of Dani's books, you know she is a master at creating over the top, obsessed, completely consumed heroes that you cannot help but love. James is a perfect example of that. Nancy is a sweetheart who deserves to have someone so focused on her and her happiness. They are so perfect together, I adored them and their story!

The heat level was totally cranked up high. And so was the level of psychotic obsession James has for Nancy. I live for OTT jealous possessive men with grey morals and a stalker to boot.
The only problem I had with the book was that I wasn't vibing with it as I had hoped. I think it's because of some parts of the plot like the pregnancy and Nancy's singing talent. They weren't working for me.

I’m unsure how I feel about this book. It wasn’t bad, but I definitely didn’t love it either. It had some incredibly hot and very spicy moments, and I loved the step sibling trope. But how Nancy managed to hide the fact she was 6 months pregnant, especially when they had sex and messed around, I just couldn’t believe that. And not gonna lie, it was weird to have him calling her sis during sex- AFTER he learned she was pregnant. I had to laugh when she discovered the sperm donor was none other than James himself! There were parts I ended up just skimming because I couldn’t get into it.

My 3 star rating is becuae while I wasn't expecting the odyssey or anything there were a few glaringly obvious points where the author didn't properly check the edit and the scene or situation basically happened twice. It would have been a simple fix and that just bothers my OCD brain.

The other steps are all possessive, but our step-savage took it further. He becomes j/p about our FMC and has become her stalker. All in all, he lives up to his name, but on the good side.
There's a bit of a twist here but it's a good twist of fate. Just goes to show that she's all his. He may be a j/p, but she can handle him. He knows what he has become but he's all happy about it. I'd give him a medal if I could.

At the start of this, I thought for sure I was not going to like James. I felt for Nancy, she was put in a position that no one should be in just trying to help a friend. I felt like with James it could have turned into a bully situation but then it definitely changed quickly into obsession with Nancy. Lots of heat, lots of dirty talk turned this into a very enjoyable read. Loving this series so far!

tbh it’s not really plot heavy n i’m okay w that. smut was hot, there was some somno and the H was v obsessive n out cameras throughout the house and a tracker in the h’s skin <3
i rlly hated the nickname “lil bit” tho …
