A new fantasy story from the author of Mother of Learning.
After years of exile, Marcus is coming back home. A powerful mage with few equals, Marcus lives in a world full of monsters and powerful adepts, many of which have bad histories with him. But he has not come back to pursue vengeance or start a fight. All Marcus wants to do is reconnect with old friends, build himself a house, and maybe train a successor or two.
Alas, the world didn’t stop just because Marcus went into exile, and not everyone is content to let go of old grievances. Strange things are happening in the world at large, too, hinting at a looming disaster of unknown nature. Still, where there is a will, there is a way.
If nothing else, Marcus has a lot of magical power to throw at problems.

Zenith of Sorcery is set in its own original setting and isn’t related to Mother of Learning… beyond being written by the same person, of course. This is a more classical fantasy story than my previous one, with a lower level of technology and stuff like elves and dwarves, but it has a lot of worldbuilding effort put into it and its own complex magical system. The story has significant xianxia influences, but isn’t meant to be a xianxia story.
For those of you not familiar with my previous work, I write relatively slowly. I intend to publish chapters at the rate of one chapter every three or four weeks, subject to further delays as life intervenes.
Domagoj Kurmaić (aka nobody103) is just your average accountant from Croatia who thinks way too much about fantasy and sci-fi, and occasionally puts his thoughts into writing.
I'm up to date as of chapter 29 and I really like it so far. I'm kinda a noobish reader that came from reading 'Mother of Learning' from the same author (so this review isn't gonna be super in depth but rather just a few thoughts).
It seems like both this and MoL start in the same sort of way where there's a ton of world building and just some hints of overarching plotlines without any blatant direction. This is something I personally really like.
The main character kinda just does what he likes but all his desires are very understandable.
Andd yeah... atp the story is far from finished but is still super enjoyable! looking forward to more chapters!!
Where can i purchase this, i tried the link and unfortunately didn't show the book, but other random ones instead. Loved the Mother of Learning series and so wanted to gice this a try.
Zenith of Sorcery, Arc 1, by Domogoi Kurmaic (writing under the username nobody103). From the author of Mother of Learning comes a new story, which officially has one completed story arc, albeit a hair less conclusive than the first arc of the previous series. I have to say, this one impresses equally so far. It's a bit more light-hearted, which the author states up-front, using similar worldbuilding elements but playing with Progression/Xianxia influence and with a bit . . . lets just say larger scope. I don't want to spoil anything regarding that. As of yet, nothing from Zorian's universe is present in this story, though I could see some potential tie-ins, or at least easter eggs. It's a blast to read, and also a bit cleaner, fit for a more general audience. Very little foul language at all. While there's no time-travel gimmick this time, there are some pretty cool ideas the author introduces early on and plays with as the story goes . . . I quite enjoy how he uses characters of varying ages (Marcus the experienced wizard and the orphans he ends up training) to create a fun, upbeat-yet-serious story. Relaxed, yet with the same level-headed maturity that readers have come to expect. I couldn't recommend this series more highly.
