Dragon Rebels #3

Dragon Daddy Protector

Rate this book
My pregnancy is a complete surprise. And now I have to tell the dragon daddy…

I thought I’d be happy to become a dragon since falling for my dragon shifter boss, Evan, but not like this. Tomas’ experimental serum is the cause, and because of me, he’s succeeded in perfecting it. Now he needs my blood to produce more and he’ll stop at nothing to get it.

With my dragon awakening, I need Evan’s help to keep it under control. Except that’s not the only reason my body is changing. I’m expecting Evan’s baby, and the timing couldn’t be worse.

Somehow, we’ve got to find a way to undermine Tomas’ empire and take him down for good. I’ve never seen Evan more determined to protect me and destroy Tomas. Only instead of bringing us closer, I’m worried the pressure of our child could tear us apart.

Unless we can stop Tomas, I’m going to wind up being one of his evil science experiments. Then I’ll never get to see my baby alive, or my mate again...

Mariah and Evan’s Challenges . . .

Mariah definitely surprised Evan with the news that she was pregnant. But rather than the joyous occasion this should have been, fear and doubt also filled their hearts. Evan was already under pressure to learn how to lead the pack while still trying to protect Mariah and Sofia from the evil Tomas who would not hesitate to do whatever he needed to in order to get what he wants. He had kidnapped and injected her with his experimental serum causing Mariah to become a dragon shifter. Since he was successful, he has to have access Mariah’s blood to continue his work. There is no doubt that he will make another attempt to get to her.

Yet even with Evan’s worry, he could not help but long for the baby Mariah now carried. He gently touched her and, with his dragon senses, he felt the pulsing energy faintly reach out to him. And he blames himself that he had never thought about preventing pregnancy now that she was a dragon shifter. Needless to say, Mariah was not comforted to know that he has regrets about the baby. But again his mind went back to images of welcoming their newborn, first steps, first words, all of it being put in danger from the ever-present threat of Tomas’ relentless efforts to kidnap Mariah. When will Tomas make his move? Can Evan keep her safe? Will they ever find the chance to claim their HEA and become a true family? Or will Tomas take away any possibility of their happiness?

Prior familiarity with the first two books in this series is strongly recommended before diving into this latest installment. Without it, readers may find themselves somewhat adrift amidst the unfolding events. Personally, I always opt to revisit the series from the beginning whenever a new book emerges, ensuring I can fully immerse myself in the unfolding narrative. It's a ritual born out of a desire to experience every nuance and emotion the story has to offer.

The storyline itself is a masterful tapestry of intricacies that left me eagerly anticipating the next installment. This series is a gem that deserves a wide audience; its excellence is undeniable. From unexpected plot twists that draw seemingly disparate threads together to reveal a larger, more complex picture, to characters so vibrant they practically leap off the page, this book is a testament to the author's skill.

However, while I found myself thoroughly engrossed in the tale, I couldn't help but wish for more exploration of the secondary characters and their stories. A deeper dive into the lives of characters like Jax, Rosalind, Mason, and Annalise would have added a further layer of depth to the narrative, rounding out the story in a more satisfying manner.

Nevertheless, the dynamic between Mariah and Evan was nothing short of captivating, leaving me eagerly anticipating their next chapter.

Roxie Ray concludes the Dragon Rebels series with the third and final book Dragon Daddy Protector.

Evan and Mariah are going through a lot. Mariah's a shifter now and pregnant and Evan hasn't been the most emotionally intelligent person, so some growing pains for sure. But I liked how they worked things out together and how much Evan has matured emotionally. Good thing too because Mariah is dealing with a lot, including some crazy revelations about her past that left me completely flabbergasted.

There was a lot of tension while waiting for Tomas's next attack. The shifter may be completely off his rocker but he isn't stupid. I'm surprised by the level of intellect that Tomas had to possess to pull this off. I loved the plot twist, it was perfect. A bunch of seemingly unrelated things get pulled together to reveal a bigger picture. It was unexpected. Plus that little plot bunny that has been irritating me (since the previous book) because it didn't make sense, it was finally explained.

Dragon Daddy Protector was good, it's the final book in the series, Evan and Mariah fought for their family and I couldn't be happier that they got their HEA. The final chapter in the book was with the sweetest, it was a perfect ending.

As the story concludes, Mariah is still dealing with the fact that she is now a dragon shifter. Unsure and confused her emotional state is made worse by discovering that she is pregnant and Evan's response to the news. With Tomas determined to get his hands on Mariah, they decide to look into Mariah's background and discover just how far Tomas has been prepared to go to achieve what he wants, and for how long this has actually been going on for. With the help and protection of those around them, they know that they will have to be strong and trust in their love as they will have to confront Tomas to finally end what he is putting them through. Action packed and full of drama, this is a fitting conclusion to this gripping and captivating story. Be prepared to read in one sitting as you will be left sitting on the edge of your seat as you read about how Evan and Mariah deal with all that is happening to them.

This is a continuation of Evan and Mariah's storyline. Things are really getting stressful for our two main characters. Mariah has been turned into a dragon shifter after Tomas kidnaps her and injects her with an experimental serum. While she cannot shift yet she can feel its presence. Add to that an unexpected pregnancy. While that is happy news the fact that Tomas is still at large it is another thing to cause worry. What does Tomas have planned for Mariah? Will she and Evan every get their HEA? Check it out to see. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you entertained.

Ok the crazy has got his hands on Mariah again and guess want he wants her for her DNA. She human but somewhere in her background a great great great grandfather must of been a shifter so her blood may work to make a serum to change humans into shifters. But during the rescue Evan’s dad is killed witch turns there world upside down plus Mariah has been injected with the serum and she going through the change from human to Dragon shifter and on top of that now she pregnant so she all over the place in hormones and emotions. Oh and the crazy is still after her. So enjoy a very good read!!

I read paranormal romance more than anything else. Awhile back I cam across another dragonshifter book by a different author and it wasn't very good. I hadn't read another one until I read thas on and I love this one! I am glad I found it. This has a great story line and the characters grew amazingly in my opinion. I will be going to read the first two book since this is the third of the series. It did not disappoint!.

The serum injected into Mariah was successful when she had been experimented on but she was worried. Evan told he still loved her and she now got pregnant, Jax Tomas’ son helped her get rescued and was working with them to take his father down. Mariah was still taking care of Sophia his daughter, went to see the man in prison about her mother’s death found out the he wanted her mother to sell her to Tomas her father died because of the serum. But Tomas was taken care of. Good book!.

Dragon Daddy Protector....

Dragon Rebels book 3. A decent ending to this series. I had a love hate thing with this book. Evan is trying to prove that he's a worthy alpha. He gotta protect his clan and family from from that evil murdering creep. He makes some mishaps. Mariah does A lot of whining and self sabotage. Yes her circumstance was not of her doing and life changing but every time was like cry me a river. But then toward the end of the book she turned badass. Absolutely this book is filled with angst, action, drama and WTF craziness.

So if I had any doubts about these books/authors I now know they’re not for me.

They are slow, dragged out beyond belief.
Predictable and slow.
Loads and loads of sex. Used as filler as far as I could tell.

And seriously…. I’m paraphrasing here but you get the idea.

I’ll protect you, no one will touch you….
Okay well they won’t next time.

Next time.

I’ll protect you, no one will touch you….
Okay well they won’t next time.

Next time….
You get the idea.

The third and final story in the Dragon Rebels which concludes Evan and Mariah's saga. Tomas is still trying to get to Mariah and he will think of some unique ways to do so. The story kept me turning pages, I had to know how their saga was going to end. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Wonderful

Absolutely loved this series! Page turning, interesting, intriguing, and amazing characters. I only wish they would include more of the other characters and their stories. It just feels like more of Jax, Rosalind, Mason, and Annalise would have really given the story a better rounding up!

Sadly mundane

I've enjoyed these characters and the world they inhabit, and Evan and Mariah certainly deserve their HEA. Unfortunately, this story is disappointingly unremarkable. Every event is predictable and lacks pizzazz. The ending is equally trite; this series deserved better.

I actually really liked this series, but felt this 3rd book was a bit unnecessary. This series would have been better as a duet in my opinion. I just found myself skimming most of this book because other than the few story points that hadn’t been resolved, the rest of it was just a lot of redundancies and could have been completed in 2 books. But again, I really did like this series!

This book is the perfect bedding to the series. After being kidnapped and injected with a serum, being turned in to a Dragon Shifter & not forgetting being pregnant as well. They need to keep away from Thomas, so he can't do any more experiments on her!

Dragon daddy protector

This book was so impressive, full of passion. Mariah and Evan wow. Together they vow to takedown the evil Tomas who caused so much chaos and pain with the serum he created. Now poor Mariah becomes a dragon. Great story and very creative writing.

Fantastic series. What a long way Marian & Evan have come. So much they've over come in 12 months. Not going to giveaway the plot I will just say you need to read this series. A strong plot, great characters & yes you may need tissues occasionally.

Good series

I enjoyed reading this series. From a simple nanny to a sweeping love story with all the drama, this book had it all. I wouldn't mind a follow up story with the daughter dragon.

Excellent

At Claimed by the Dragon Daddy, I thought the story was too drawn out. I was wrong. Although I was annoyed with Mariah and her "why me" attitude, in the end her dragon and Evans love won her over. Sooooo glad Tomas is dead!!!!! He was evil to the core.

Solid finish

All the loose bits are tied up nicely. I do wish the created tension had not been so much about the characters inner insecurity. It took away from the relationship building.
