Kendra is a fire mage living a quiet life. Until she crosses paths with a demon prince on a quest to rule the seven realms. She suffers a devastating loss which puts her in a precarious position, between the demon and the thing he desires most. Can she keep him from finding what he needs to fulfill the prophecy? Only time will tell...
Kassia DeVane is a romantasy author. She enjoys playing with tropes and expectations to create stories that are unique to her world. When she's not writing, Kassia is an avid reader of all types of books but her favorite genre is romance. Kassia is also a homeschool mom to her two sons and loves to cook.
Short and sweet, this story is about Kendra and her journey of survival and protection. Left alone without her coven, and only the soul of her mate, she learns as much as she can about her magic and their bond. After seeking a seer, she finds herself in the presence of an oracle and must choose which future she will embark upon.
While this was a super quick and short read, it had all the elements I love. Strong FMC, villian, and sidekick that doubled as the love interest. Also, the plot wasn't lacking in any way. It made me want to know more about the world Kendra is living in as well as how it will all work out. This author did a beautiful job blending a fast-paced short story with a decent, well thought out plot. I see this story going in so many directions, and I need more.
This quick story was so good! Kendra is such an awesome FMC, she faces so many things and makes it through stronger than ever! I want more! I want to know about her battles and go through her ups and downs with her! I hope this is the start of a series! I want to know what happens next!
Very nice and short novella, Kendra is a relatable character and a bagasse, her journey is very interesting to read. I would love to read more about her in the future. It was a pleasure to read Ignited, I recommend it 100%
This short and sweet novella about Kendra's journey for vengeance. I loved this story and seeing Kendra's growth. The only thing that disappointed me was the rushed ending. There was so much build-up for the big battle that didn't happen.
Received this as an ARC read this review is my honest option xxx loved the storyline and the fmc was focused on revenge Wish the author wrote a more in-depth story as I found her style of writing amazing n think she cud of easily wrote more background and explained more was gutted it wasn’t longer but role on book 2 xxx wud deffo recommend xxx
I absolutely LOVED this little novella. Kendra is such an amazing character and I can’t wait to see her story come to life!
This little book flowed so well. Even with the time jumps it blended and fit perfectly together. I can’t wait to dive into more books from this author. I am excited to see how the rest of the series goes!
Received the ebook as an ARC and this is my honest review.
The only negative thing I can say about this novella is that it ended too fast. I loved reading about Kendra’s story and admired her traits. She is strong and such a bad ass! The story was easy to follow and it put me out of a reading slump.
It was a bit short but I really enjoyed the story line. It sort of left me on a cliffhanger. I can’t wait for the next book! Hopefully there is a next one. I was really sad for Mozzy!!!! He didn’t deserve what happened to him! *sigh*
2/1/25 Doing a reread and I still think it was a nice short nicely written novella. And I’m still sad about Mozzy! lol

Kendra is a fire mage who hasn’t quite mastered. When demon Farak destroys her coven and soul mate Mozzy, she has find a way to survive and decide where to go next. She travels and trains for 8 years until an Oracle gives her a choice. Which path will she take?
This is a quick short read by Kassie DeVane that’s a prequel to the Hearts of Fire series. While I did already read books 1 and 2 before this one, I was not disappointed. The character and world building was just as great as the next books and it was a wonderful addition to read about Kendra’s journey. I very much look forward to reading book 3 in the Hearts of Fire series!
Kendra is flying solo on her quest when she stumbles upon a demon prince. She must learn about her magic to survive and stop the prince from fulfilling the prophecy. Demons, magic, witches, covens, this short story has it all! I read this book so fast. I was intrigued from the first sentence. A 5-star read that I wish I could read it again for the first time lol. I particularly love Kendra. She was a truly stunning character and so easy to fall in love with. It kind of ended on a cliff hanger though so I’m curious if there’s going to be a continuation of the story.
This very short fantasy romance novella is the prequel to the Hearts of Fire series. This is the story of Kendra, a fire mage, and tragedy and prophecy that will shape her life.
I won’t give spoilers, but I say this book captured my interest and I was disappointed when I reached the last page. I cannot wait to read more of Kendra.
I liked this author’s writing style. While this is a short read, the author was able to throw in a lot of emotion and action. I cannot wait to read more of this series.
I didn't read the main book yet, but I read Ignited, and it was all kinds of emotions, you felt sad, happy, gut-wrenching at times, yet fierce. I fell in love with Kendra's character and Mozzie and their playful, enduring relationship and I wanted more; I wanted this book to go on forever. I could see this book playing out in my head like a movie, the way Kassia writes is Brillant. I can't wait for the first book.
A short, quick, but very eventful read. Kendra, a fire mage who can’t control much of her magic gets a twist of a lifetime when a demon prince is on the hunt for items to fulfill a prophecy. Watching Kendra evolve after going through what she has was such a joy. I do want to know more about this dark Fae though 🤔🧐
I received this book as an ARC for an honest book and I thought Kendra was a strong FMC but that the book was definitely too short and leaves a lot of unanswered questions when it’s all said and done. It’s a well written book but I need the second book to be much longer and answer the cliffhanger among other things! Will definitely keep reading the series if another book comes out!

This was a very nice short quick paced read, Kendra is an awesome yet relatable FMC. I thoroughly enjoyed this novella I was hooked from page one. I can’t wait to read more from this amazing author. I don’t give spoilers but please add this to your TBR you won’t regret it.
REVIEW ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ this was sent to me by the author!!!! This was an amazing book! The world building and the characters all flowed nicely! I love how relatable the characters are! Kendra’s need for revenge while mastering her own power is incredible! I will be reading the rest!
Took me a while to get to this short and sweet story! Filled with nonstop storyline and twists and turns you quickly fall in love with Kendra and Mozzy. Cannot wait to read the rest of this series and see what happens!
The book started out really good. I would have liked a little more character development and description about the places she went. At points it seemed a little rushed to me.
So sad in the beginning, but amazing, strong lead character. If you like witch books with elemental magic, definitely recommend. Need to read Twin Flame now!!
I really enjoyed this novella! It was short, with a little spice mixed in, and left me wanting more of Kendra and Mozzy's story. It left on a cliff hanger, so I am very hopeful a full length novel is on its way, because I need more of Kendra and Mozzy!! Next up: Twin Flame
