A bit slow but stuck with it. Not the ending I thought I would get!

Well I was completely wrong with my theory on this one. Brilliant, suspenseful, shocking, heartbreaking, frustrating at times, mistrustful.
I very much wrongly thought it was an unreliable narrator book and I heavily suspected the husband. Especially as he knew about burner phones and researching his wife I thought he himself had found out who she was and was the one blackmailing her.
I also thought the dodgy cop his friend was in on it as he was admitting he would get into trouble and asking him to meet in dangerous places very dodgy! I’m still mad about Morvens mum I need closure on what happened to her

I thoroughly enjoyed this book - it was a hard one to put down when the intrigue hit, and kept going, and going, and going! I also love the way Alex, the protagonist, speaks about his wonderful relationship with his daughter Poppy - a real extra perk of the book. Twists and turns throughout, with an ending I might have been expecting, but that still had me hooked, reading until the final page.

I enjoyed this book, it had a good story and was well paced, however I was left wanting more, it didn't feel quite wrapped up.
