I’m Nora Nash, formerly known as the ‘Ghost Girl’ back in my old hometown because of my penchant for befriending and helping ghosts. My parents wanted a new start for all of us, without a spooky reputation. They fell in love with the idea of retiring and becoming proprietors of the Lakeside Bed and Breakfast, two states over and what seemed like a million miles away. They convinced me, along with my brother and his wife, to give up our jobs in the city so we could all run the inn together, a family affair.
The old inn needed work - LOTS of work - and I was ready to buckle down and get dirty while we restored the place. That daunting task became even more difficult because of a small boy, a new dog, and the aid of my new ghostly ‘friends’.
And one of those new spirit friends needed my help finding his missing family ring. I soon learned giving my help would bring mystery to Lakeside, and a strained alliance with Lakeside’s detective.
A Nora Nash Ghostly Cozy Mystery at the Lakeside Bed and Breakfast, including a Vi Nash recipe.
It seems I’m on a trend of dumb main character. I actually liked the story and the relationship Nora has with her family, Shafow the dog who also sees ghosts is a great addition. This trend of the MFC blatantly breaking the law after being told to stay away is not cool. Here, Nora literally breaks into the office of the suspect through a window and mocks that a warrant is needed.. 😒😒 yes I know it’s a cozy, yes suspend belief but those things bug me. Overall the story isn’t bad but I deducted points for that trope.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This in no way affects my opinion of this book.
Nora Nash is either very fortunate, or very unfortunate, depending on your point of view. She can see and talk with ghosts - and gets visits from ghosts who cannot "move on" without completing some unfinished business. So, if you think that's a case of being cursed, I'd go with unfortunate. On the other hand, if you think helping a murder victim get justice is a great way to spend a week, then you'd vote for "fortunate". At any rate, Nora is one of the latter type, always willing to help a ghost out. In "Grim Discoveries", a ghost wanders Nora's new home, constantly looking for something he cannot find, and Nora finds herself in league with the ghost.
Nora Nash not only sees ghosts , but can communicate with them too, so it’s no wonder they call upon her so they can ‘ move on’ . She has moved states along with her parents and her brother and sister in law to Lakeside where they run the Lakeside Inn Bed & Breakfast. A ghost appears walking the rooms of the place apparently in search of something and Nora is keen to help him …A great idea for a ghostly mystery , that has been written believably and with a little humour too. Suspenseful too. A good introduction for me to a new author .

A well written paranormal cozey mystery with mayhem and murder with a family trait in seeing ghosts. The array of characters will draw you in but the intriguing plot will keep you captivated with its spirited secrets and adventure into a bed & breakfast's mysterys. You'll laugh and smile along with the family running it and fallow how they try to help one certain ghost find his lost ring. I not giving away the plot because it's in the title. Acquire" Ghostly Guides and Grim Discoveries " (The Mystery of the Missing Ring) today so you yourself can become lost in its tale and enjoy it as much as I have. Kat
This book shows promise of a very good series. Despite a few setbacks which the author overcame I think this will be a good series. It has lots of ghosts rescue animals all guarantees for a good read. Overall, “Ghostly Guides and Grim Discoveries: The Mystery of the Missing Ring” is a highly recommended read for those who enjoy cosy mysteries with a supernatural twist. It’s a book that successfully combines the thrill of a mystery with the warmth of a family story. I had an ARC copy of this book and this is an honest review in my own words.
New Town, fresh start or new town and same situation? Moving was supposed to be a fresh start for the whole family who uprooted to move so no one would know Nora's ability to see ghosts. The bed and breakfast was her parents' dream and she wasn't going to let them down. However, her dad's client had a ghost guest that needed her help in locating a missing Imperial style egg that was meant for her grandson. With several suspects, Nora and Tyler go talk to each but who is lying and who is telling the truth? Fun short story with a bunch of fun characters!
Nora moved away with her parents and brother to another state to open the Lakeside Bed and Breakfast. She can communicate with ghost. One ghost cannont pass because he is looking for a ring. Up to Nora to help him. It is an interesting read, entertaining. There are a few things in the book that aren't right but that can be solved. Nora Nash has a gift. She can communicate with ghosts. When a spirit is distraught about his missing ring, Nora tries to help. Then there is a murder. Is it related to the missing ring? Who is the murderer and the thief? An entertaining read with interesting characters. I like the cover and the subtitles in the book.

It was an interesting story and nice and fast paced. It didn't have an over abundance of edge sitting action, but it was interesting enough to keep your attention. I would read other "ghost" stories of Tests McNeill and recommend it to younger adults. I believe it may be her Audience. Too bad they don't have a half star. Three and a half stars for this story. ;-)
This was an interesting mystery that is the start to what should be an interesting series. I love paranormal cozy mysteries with ghost interactions. I loved the family bond and one of the cutest dog interactions. I look forward to reading more in this series and can totally related the klutzy nature of the main character!.
Great start to the series. Nora is supposed to keep her ghost seeing ability a secret, but she keeps almost blowing it! Her coming up with excuses as to who and what she was talking about was so funny. Lots of backtracking! The surprise with her nephew was great. Can’t say too much, don’t want to give it away! I loved the whole mystery within another mystery. Very fun book!
I enjoyed the book. Good story. Wonderful setting. Little bit of everything touched in this book for you to find something good. Will persue more of this series. If cozy mysteries are a favorite this book is for you.
This has the making of a good story with fun characters, but I feel it needs a little tidying up. I received this arc for free and I wanted to leave an honest review.

Brenda her neighbour brings abandoned little dog Shadow who is a great joy to her little nephew Tommy. While on a trail walk they come across the dead body of Red Martin who was a traveller. Nora is determined to find the truth .A very intriguing read which had me captivated from the start. I received this book free and leave a honest review. I recommend this book to other readers.
