A sweet little board book with beautiful, inclusive (different races, religions, (dis)abilities and unique features), simple pictures and messages of kindness on each page. There's about a sentence or two on each page, but there's lots to look at in the pictures and the sentences are short and simple. The text identifies different ways to share (sharing toys, festivities, giggles, and warm words).

I like that there is a very short explanation of why these things are important, and the illustrations support those explanations well. For example, one page shows a boy frowning on the couch while sitting between three comforting friends - two kids and a dog. The text says "Let's share calming comfort. We'll hold each other close to keep sadness far away."

Would be great for a story time.

The diverse cast of characters in this board book [2.5 for me!] demonstrate ways to be generous with others and why generosity is important. Part of the Little Voices series for very young readers, the book contains scenes in which the youngsters share snacks, help solve puzzles, offer consolation, giggle together, and offer warm words of encouragement. The idea of sharing is carried throughout the book, but some readers may become confused over some of the scenes and how sharing is a part of what's happening.
