A childhood favorite, I would wait in anticipation in the days leading up to decorating, so excited for the Christmas books to be brought out. Nearly forgot to read it this year! Just as sweet and touching as always.

I actually own this book and bought it because of the cool title character as well as the lively art work. Same take as many books of this genre, but a lizard over an angel, a sheep or Shepard, or other livestock, just makes this a teensy more unique.

I would rent this over and over again from the library as a kid. I cried when my parents gifted it to me for Christmas several years ago and I cried again tonight as I read it to my baby for the first time on Christmas Eve
