Departures

Rate this book
In the tradition of The Women of Brewster Place, comes a hilarious, touching debut about friendship and family. Amber's mother, Paula, has only three priorities-men, money, and how to get more of both. Luckily this Philadelphia neighborhood is full of other women for Amber to look up to. There's Sheila, who instead of mourning her no-good husband, digs up his corpse and gives him the biggest backlash of his life...or afterlife. There's Reba, a mother of six, who finds love in all the right places-outside of Philly and away from her husband. And there's Lucy, a successful businesswoman looking for a man who appreciates-and deserves-to be married to her. The unique and always interesting women of Departures will have readers cheering them on or shaking their heads. Either way, alone and together, these women will learn that breaking free doesn't mean losing ground.

Wow! The writing was.... Sorry, I have nothing nice to say. I'll just say this; for some reason I whipped through it in no time (hence the 2 stars).
