Practically Perfect Nannies #2

The Sassy Nanny Dilemma

Rate this book
Life was good in Moorsville where Adelaide Bloom knew exactly her place. Nanny. Sister. Black sheep of the sleepy little town.

Her life was dead opposite of Ashton Scott, celebrity attorney to A-lister stars and hometown legend. But when he shows up back at his old family mansion with a daughter no one knew he had, and needs a nanny? She finally has a chance to prove she’s more than just “the maid’s daughter with a past.”

For one, he may be great at dating supermodels but his idea of parenting could fit into a thimble. Like his strict rules of not letting the six-year-old get dirty or eat sugar? Ha! They were mere suggestions, right?

Ash never wanted to see this hole-in the-wall town ever again. But he’ll do anything to keep his daughter safe from the paparazzi and gold diggers. He’ll even live in his old family home for a year just to get her settled at the local girls academy. Then he’d high-tail it back to Manhattan where he belonged. That is, if that nanny could ever follow basic instructions.

If only she wasn’t so oddly appealing for reasons he couldn’t fathom. He didn’t have time for women, for all the entanglements they brought. And Adelaide was a walking complication.

But no problem. Resistance to temptation was his specialty. At least it was.

A meet cute, opposites attract, grumpy boss-Miss Sunshine, steamy romantic comedy

I loved this novel so much!

Ashton and Adelaide were so different, but at the same time so perfect. Literally felt like this was a pride and prejudice retelling, I am telling you.

I mean they both complemented each other in how they both behaved so differently yet their primary goal was to take care of his little girl, and I was so there for it.

All the emotions slight angst, fade to black steamy scenes, and endless witty banter, was something I lived for. I mean holy shit, this book made my list of I wanna read this again and again, over and over. And I rarely have those, as you know.

The writing, was so perfect, straightforward, delightful, and in their person main. The romance was believable and swoonworthy, the banter was intelligent, realistic and something I missed in other novels. My god this novel had me so bad, I think I swear I wouldn't mind being glued to it longer. Plus Ashton, and Adelaide and the little girl, aww they made such a cute family, eeeh, I want one like that.

Oh this novel was so good, I can't wait for Elizabeth to write more heartwarming novels like these.

And now for something completely different.
I had this one in my library for a while now,and decided it was time to read it.
It had it’s funny moments. It had it’s sweet moments. And it had it’s romantic moments.
As a whole it was a simple story, nothing complicated.
But,to be very honest,it was a bit too sweet for me.
I prefer Elizabeth’s Elite Doms of Washington series, they’re more up my alley….

This is the second book in this series. It is a standalone read. I haven’t read the first and wasn’t confused at all. Adelaide is a relief nanny. Recently coming off a job in a not ideal way. Ash is back in town with his daughter, Maribelle. Who he just discovered was his daughter. His nanny up and left because its too quiet at night. Now he needs a new one and Addy isn’t going to miss out on this opportunity. Addy loves her small home town but like all small hometowns everyone knows everything. Addy has had her share of uncomfortable moments growing up and doesn’t want them to affect her current chance at this job. Addy and Ash also had a moment one he doesn’t even remember. But, it doesn’t matter she wasn’t his type then and she probably isn’t now. After all she isn’t some model or lawyer just a nanny. Ash just wants to get his daughter situated in school and get back to his job in New York. But then there is this nanny who doesn’t know how to follow rules or stop talking. She has certain ideas about what children need that are different than his. Then there is the way she makes him feel and things he notices about him. The last thing he needs are more headlines and bad press. Sparks fly between the two, no matter how much they fight it. This book was hilarious to read. Addy is a great nanny, she always knows just what to do or say. Things between her and Ash aren’t as easy. Then there is Addy’s archenemy her ex’s sister who is on the school board that Ash wants to send his daughter to. This book is a great funny, romantic read. I look forward to reading more books in this series in the future as well as book one in the series. Fantastic job Elizabeth.

The Sassy Nanny Dilemma
By: Elizabeth SaFleur

If you're looking for a feel-good, steamy, romantic comedy that you won't be able to put down then look no more!

Adelaide knew what she was doing, she had plenty of experience being a nanny. Besides, there was no way someone like her who literally came from a company called, Practically Perfect Nannies, needed some big shot New York City lawyer telling her how to do her job, even if she could get lost in those icey blue eyes. The thought of following some ridiculously obsurd rules that came from a parenting book called "Genius Child" was enough to make her want to, well...tell Mr. Ashton Scott exactly what he could do with his asinine assigned reading.
Ash didn't even remember Addy from all those years ago. Why would he? She had only been the maid's daughter. She had hoped being from the same hometown would gain her some points and maybe a permanent position. That is, if her past didn't surface to destroy her in the form of little Miss Albrecchio, her archenemy, who clearly had her sights set on Ash.

Ash knew nothing of being a father, heck, he hadn't even known he had a child until recently when tragedy struck. Now he would stop at nothing to protect his little girl, even leaving the city he loved and moving to his miserable hometown.
This mouthy nanny would be gone after one day and he could find a much better suited, much older nanny. He just had to make it through tonight's party at the Scott Mansion. One night is all he had to put up with Miss Adelaide Bloom for, one night, to watch over his precious Maribelle and then he could get a more seasoned, suitable, permanent fit. Then that oddly capivating woman would be long gone.
As for being hired for one night...we'll see about that.

This Sassy Nanny definitely deserves 5 stars.

Adelaide, or Addy, grew up in Moorsville, North Carolina – the daughter of the housekeeper for the Scott family – and thus had been in the Scott mansion, and was liked by the old Mrs. Scott – now passed away. Her son, Ashton Scott, moved away and is a famous lawyer in New York who has returned to the family home, which he now owns, because he recently discovered he is the father of a 6 year old girl – Maribelle - the result of a one night stand with a woman who was recently murdered and had hid knowledge of the child from him. Moving back to his family home in order to provide a better life for his daughter than in New York, he needs a nanny and hires Addy – who he had casually met 15 years earlier when she was 14 and he was 17. Addy is very well regarded in the community as a nanny for young children, and she and Maribelle hit it off right away. The story is filled with humor and cute scenes as Addy and Ashton gradually get to know each other – first falling in lust, and then in love. Addy’s thoughts on the developing relationship are amusing – as is her sister, Scarlett. There is a nasty woman who tries unsuccessfully to steal Ashton, and the story moves quickly to an HEA. I really liked Addie – intelligent, energetic and witty – and Ashton, although grumpy, meant well and gradually loosened up. It was an enjoyable story. Ash was living the life he wanted as he was sexy, single and successful but his life is about to take a turn when he finds out he has a six-year daughter Maribelle after her mother passes away. He has definite ideas when it comes to parenting so he decides to temporarily move back to his hometown and prepare her for boarding school however he wasn’t expecting to find himself at odds with the nanny who has ideas of her own.

While Ash may not remember Addy she remembers him from when they were teenagers, even if their lifestyles were very different. She knows that she is good at her job and isn’t about to be deterred from what she believes is best for Maribelle even if the instructions come from her father.

Addy is exactly what Ash and Maribelle need in their lives and seeing them find their way to each other is not only humorous but has all the feels as well.

Sassy Nanny Dilemma is a bit of a departure from what I've come to expect from Elizabeth Safleur and quite frankly I found it utterly delightful. A staid New York attorney with a myriad of rules, his precocious somewhat traumatized six year old daughter and a nanny who doesn't do real well obeying rules but knows how to have fun while giving her charge all the love and support they can handle are the main cast of characters. Add in an off the wall outrageous sister and a troublemaking town gossip and you"ve got a wonderfully warm and happy love story.

I think Adelaide Bloom may be one of the quirkest, most unique and interesting characters I've run across in a long. She is amazing and I adored her. She's free spirited, nurturing and an irreverent rule breaker. Ashton Scott returned to his boyhood hometown in order to protect his daughter Maribelle from ever encroaching media and those who would try to harm her because of her inheritance. Ash and Addy do butt heads but he sees his Belle start to blossom under Addy's care and guidance. Meanwhile he starts to loosen up too. How could he not when Addy's antics and laughter fills the halls of his home? Falling for one another seems inevitable but there's an old nemesis of Addy's bent on inserting themselves into Ash and Belle's lives and also getting her fired.

The Sassy Nanny Dilemma by Elizabeth SaFleur is book Two in the Practically Perfect Nannies. This is the story of Ashton Scott and Adelaide Bloom "Addy". Adelaide has lived in Moorsville, North Carolina since she was little and her mother was a maid for the Scott family and she had met Ashton when she was a teenager. Now Ashton is a famous hot shot lawyer in New York City who has returned to Moorsville because he just discovered he has a six year old daughter, Maribelle. Maribelle mother was killed and so he didn't know he had a daughter until after her death. Now his plans are to dedicate a year to getting her used to him and her new situation then have her go to boarding school so he can return to his life. Adelaide is hired as the nanny for Maribelle who they hit it off right away and when Ashton tries to install some strict rules if fun to watch Adelaide go against them. This was a funny hot read. I definitely will be looking more form this author.

What a delightful, charming, funny and sexy story! There is so much to love about Ash and Adelaide’s story that you won’t put it down until the very last word is read. Adelaide is a Nanny who is hired by Ash, a lawyer who has come back to his hometown with his daughter. He is a kind, loving Father who will do anything for his little girl. Even put up with Adelaide and her crazy ways!

Adelaide is an extremely likable character to the point I could see being friends with her. She is quirky, funny and loves being a Nanny, and has a special place in her heart for Ash’s daughter. While Ash comes off initially as being stern, he has a heart of gold, and is handsome and sexy to boot! The interactions between these two made me laugh and made me cry. Plus the chemistry between them is smoking hot! I really enjoyed this story and couldn’t get enough of these two! A definite must read!!

This was a good story but I thought it missed a few points. First, I did not understand why Ash and Addy had such different experiences with his mom. She sounded like she really liked Addy but yet Ash was in boarding school growing up and did not seem to have any relationship with her at all. Second, for someone who is so "worldly", Ash was pretty clueless about Sally and the drama that she brought. I liked the relationship between Ash and Addy but I was expecting a little more heat between them. The drama at the end with this whole build-up of her secret was a little overblown but still I laughed when I found out what she did (which was what was intended). Pretty decent story throughout.

The Sassy Nanny Dilemna is the second book in a multi-author series and a bit of a departure from Ms SaFleur's usual heroes and heroines. But it just goes to show what a great author she is because the result is a delightful easy-to-read romance between the grumpy and quite arrogant Ash and the sassy, witty but extremely warm-hearted Addy. Still, the star of the show for me is Maribelle, so cute, but also so vulnerable and in need of a nurturing person in her life. A great read with a well-deserved HEA for an adorable family.

Adelaide Bloom is a nanny in desperate need of a job. Ashton Scott needs a nanny, someone he can trust to care for the daughter he didn't even know existed until a short time ago. Addy knows it's a long shot, but she basically begs for a chance to care for the six year old. As far as she's concerned, her one time crush Ashton doesn't know anything about raising a child. The little girl isn't allowed to get dirty or eat sugar, this child desperately needs her. Ash never wanted to return to his hometown of Moorsville, and he certainly doesn't think that hometown girl Addy is a proper nanny, but he agrees to let her word for him, and take care of his child until he can find someone more suitable.
These characters are absolutely wonderful. They are well written, and realistic in my opinion. They may be opposites in nearly every way imaginable, but they are both determined to make sure his daughter is well cared for and protected from anyone who might try to hurt the child. Laugh out loud funny and sexy romantic comedy with some unexpected, and surprising twists in the plot that made it impossible to put this book down.

Adelaide is a carefree woman and has a unique point of view on life. Ash is a straight laced by the book lawyer that found out he had a daughter a year ago. He has a schedule for his daughter that is really strict. Put Adelaide and that schedule together you've got mayhem. Maribelle is a precautious child and quite entertaining. I loved Adelaide's overall composition, the love of life that she had and her quick wit. Loved the water balloon fight and the tree castle. I also loved the "suitnip" description as well as "hovercraft".

This book made me smile. I voluntarily reviewed this book.

Love the romance and the humor! Perfect blend!

What a delightful story that had me laughing as well as enjoying the way the attraction between Ash and Addy comes together. These characters have chemistry and Addy is a wonderful nanny that loves what she does.
I absolutely adored Ash’s daughter Maribelle. She just brings out the humor with her innocence. This story was a breath of fresh air. I hope Elizabeth SaFleur creates more stories like this in the future.

This was such a fun read. Adelaide was hilarious. She is a nanny who has had several nanny jobs has landed a temporary job with Ashton. She lives up to being sassy indeed. She has no filter and just lets whatever is on her mind spill out her mouth. Ashton’s daughter Bella is so cute. His way of raising her is uptight and Addy has no problem telling me so. Really an entertaining read with some steam.

This story is a sweet and fun read that makes for a perfect weekend read. Ash is arrogant and stuffy, while Addy is light and personable. These two couldn’t be more opposite and you will smile and may even laugh at some of their encounters. What’s unmistakable is the heat and chemistry that sparks and grows. Maribelle is the star and immediately steals your heart. Lots of feels and realizations make this a can’t miss read so make sure you one click.

The Sassy Nanny Dilemma by Elizabeth SaFleur is a romantic comedy that will have you laughing and smiling from the first page until the very end. This author has written a sweet, adorable, and even sexy rom-com that is just magical and well worth every minute it takes to read the entire book. Adelaide and Ashton and Maribelle all fit together like the perfect puzzle pieces that make this story fun to read. While Addy and Ashton complete each other in their opposite views of life and how to handle the little things that come up, Maribelle rounds out the group as the sweet, six year-old living her best life.

This was a gem of a story. I loved watching Addy take on Ash as their relationship developed. But I absolutely adored Maribelle. I think she held the whole story together, not that Ash and Addy weren't already doing that. The banter back and forth, her "sassy" attitude just made this a delight to read. It's completely not what I'm used to from Ms. SaFleur but I loved this one so much.

What a wonderfully written romantic comedy!!! Addy was absolutely fabulous!! Her brain flitting from absolute embarrassment to sarcastic banter was relatable and fun! Ash is so put together with his schedules and rules and in comes Hurricane Adelaide blowing his life apart in ways he could never have foreseen. And let’s not forget Maribelle, the cutest child and love of Addy’s babysitting life. She added so much fun and adorable-ness (is that a word?) to the story that you wanted to see what the munchkin would do next. This was a wonderful way to delve into a feel good world and come out happier. Fantastic read!!

What a delightful story, I found myself smiling all the way through It was such a fun read and Maribelle was so cute. All the characters in this story were so well written the reader feels they know them. Ash and Adelaide were the perfect foil for each other and brought a balance to Maribelle’s life. A truly feel good story that will give the reader a warm feeling without it being sickly sweet, perfect happy ending.

‘Perfect” mix of humor and heat

Throughly loved the ‘sassy’ rom-com The Sassy Nanny Dilemma just released by Elizabeth SaFleur. With lots of situational humor, funny banter and steamy encounters this book is the perfect mix for great read.
Addy, right from the start, rubs Ash the wrong way. He is trying to escape the gossip-mongers and the limelight of New York and her mother’s legacy by going back to his small hometown to raise his daughter. He has strict rules. Addy thinks rules are meant to broken, children should get dirty and what good is life without pie? She just ‘left’ one job, and Ash is in desperate need of a nanny. Perfect! With her smile, never accepting no, Addy bulldozes her was into in Ash and Madeline’s lives and hearts.

I couldn’t wait to get a hold of this book! The Sassy Nanny Dilemma. What is there not to like about this book? I love Nanny books to read and I am a sucker for kids.

I think that Adelaide made Ash more human. His 6 year old daughter wasn’t allowed to get dirty or to eat sweets! Good thing Adelaide believes in letting a kid be a kid. You can tell that Ash loves his daughter; he just hasn’t been around kids.

I loved Adelaide’s character. She is fun and funny, has a great personality although it has to grow on Ash. He isn’t sure about Adelaide. But there is magnetism between the two of them.

I loved reading this romantic standalone comedy.

This is an easy-to-read, fun book that leaves you with a feel good vibe.
Ash is a bit of an arrogant, stuffy man who left his small town behind to try it on the big apple.
Addy is a light and personable character that remained in her hometown.
When they were younger she had a crush but was invisible.
This opposite personalities cross paths when he comes back with the star of the book: Miss Maribelle.
The feel good vibes are aplenty, making you constantly smirk, smile or even occasionally laugh with every interaction between this odd but perfect couple.
And the heat and chemistry just...Wow.
I received a free ARC copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

It is a gem to find "new to me" authors and actually enjoy the entire book and storyline. I would actually say the book title and blurb drew me in but the love Ash showed to his daughter was what held me. The protector bulldozer attitude was not only a turn on but refreshing. Adding Abby and her spitfire attitude you get laughs, seduction, and drama.

This was a calm fun loving rom/com.

An excellent story. Adelaide is a hometown girl. She is quirky and fun. She works as nanny and has just gotten a new job. Ashton is also a hometown boy who has become a successful New York lawyer. Ashton and Addie have a history which he has forgotten when he hires her to be a nanny to his daughter. The story is seriously witty as the characters get into a war of words. The little girl Maribelle is delightful and will capture your hearts with her games and imagination. Addie and Belle work their magic and melt the heart of big growly Ashton to form their fairytale happy family.

Why hello there Miss Elizabeth SaFleur!

I love discovering new to me authors and loving their books! The Sassy Nanny Dilemma was a great, read in one sitting romance that touched upon some of my favorite tropes. It was a small town, kind of/sort of second chance (at taking a chance), opposites attract, forbidden romance.

Addy and Ash are from the same small town. In their teens, Addy crushed on the older boy who never noticed her. He moved on to bigger and better things in the Big Apple and she remained in their hometown. When destiny and his return home, throws them together, she is the ray of sunshine Ash and his adorable daughter, Maribelle need.

I enjoyed watching Addy worm her way into Ash’s life and heart and watching him fall hard for her. The Sassy Nanny Dilemma made my book loving heart happy, I’m giving it the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!

Mr Grumpy meets Ms Sunshine.. Ashton grew up a privileged life unlike Adelaide. They met one time when they were both teenagers and then again many years later when Ashton moves back home with his daughter who Adelaide ends being a nanny for. Through a misunderstanding that they worked through they find that they love each other and they end up happily together in the end.
