A stoty of three women whose lives connect. Dina ran away from Brooklyn after finding out there's a contract out on her. She meets Karla, a lawyer, who helps her change her name (and life) and steers her to a job opportunity. Karla and her husband have sn open marriage. Sybil has her own catering business. It's her sideline as Delectable that could have all their worlds crashing down around their head.
This is my first by this author, I believe. I thought it was good. I was expecting something huge to happen to disrupt everything, or a huge blow up/reveal. Didn't happen. But I liked the story and happy endings are always a nice touch.
This was a different read by Rochelle Alers compared to her other books I've read. The beginning drew me in....then the plot dragged for quite a bit. I had a hard time making the connection between certain details. It got a bit better towards the end, but the ending itself was anti-climatic. This book did not meet the standard I have set for this author based on her other works.
This is not what I was looking for in a Rochelle Alers' read. I just felt out of the element of what this author usually gives me. I am willing to give it another read sometime in the future. I may just need to get other genres under my belt.
This story was totally captivating and amazingly interesting. The three ladies in this story lead interesting lives and strength has made them overcome various obstacles. Amazing job Ms. Alerts!!!
It was a page turner I loved all of the characters. I just wished Dina would have came clean about her past to Lance and reunited with her daughter and grandmother.
